Thousands of years ago, three wise Kings ruled the land of Egypt. They shared the country between them as brothers, and the people prospered. But as time went by, evil forces manipulated the very foundation of their kindness and stole more and more power from the them by acting as friends. The end result was horrible. On the very same day, the three kings died from poisoning and were buried in their respective chambers. The new rulers stole the remaining power and enslaved the minds of the people, turning them into helpless servants. It was a dark and gloomy day indeed. Lara Croft discovered a collection of old writings when visiting an ancient library in Egypt. These writings included the myth about these three kings and also a map showing where the catacomb containing their burial chambers might lie. The myth stated that the spirits of the kings were still alive, they could not rest untill they had once again returned to life to revenge the forces which once destroyed them. The very presence of these mummified kings outside their burial chambers would leave the evil hordes with no choice but to vanish forever. Lara understands what she has to do: She will save the world by releasing the three kings from their tombs. In turn, the myth states, they will help Lara finding her way out of the catacombs. After searching for the catacombs for several days, she finally stumbles upon a secret entrance... |
