Reviewer's comments
"This is a very charming Easter level. It starts out with a tutorial segment where Lara walks you through the controls (nice voiceover BTW) and then you get into the level proper. Nice, peaceful atmosphere with windmills, calm lakes and the birds chirping. Along the way, you'll ride a Jeep, find a few keys and solve a little mathematical block puzzle (thankfully not as prolonged or tedious as the one in Snowwhite). Recommended for a tranquil raid." - Ryan (27-Oct-2016)
"I found this level to be amazing! You are in a village with hardly any buildings but some windmills. Texturing and lighting is amazing. The atmosphere is very good. Lara's voice actress did a good job but was a bit quiet compared to the loud noise the birds make! The outfir was pretty nice and the ride in the jeep was nice. No enemies but there are cats which lara aims at but you shouldn't shoot them. Very enjoyable and should not be missed." - afzalmiah (04-Mar-2011)
"Well, the group raiding party (via which it was decided to play this level) did a Christmas level before, so why not throw an Easter level in for good measure as well? Being a level of illyaine [formerly known as Christoph] it makes you at least half-expect some level of quality, and this level by far does not disappoint. The scenery is lovely from start to finish depicting an idyllic countryside landscape by a lake with windmills and a castle like setting. The tasks mainly focus on freeing the path for your jeep ride, but include a number of clever moments like the fusebox turning the lights off, the math puzzle and the disguised logs. While the next step is usually fairly obvious due to the beaten path in the otherwise fairly open and confusing environment, some limitations, like the invisible walls seemed too artificial when a more authentic appearance could've easily been achieved with a handful more objects or design choices. For example Lara not being able to jump over a half-meter high white picket door seemed ridiculous and the invisible walls disabling you to use a seemingly obvious way to bypass it even more so. Moments like these made any potential exploration a bit annoying but on the whole are easily forgotten when you encounter any of the level's better moments again. It took me 30 minutes to reach the end, and eventually found all 4 secrets, though I missed the red rose when I first finished this. Recommended for a peaceful and picturesque raid!" - eTux (11-May-2008)
"This is a fun and harmless level built in the spirit of Easter for younger children to play. Whilst the level difficulty is intentionally easy for its target audience, there is still enough in it to provide a fun hour of raiding for all ages. There's some vast landscapes and lakes to explore, which are well presented although I must admit I did feel at times like I was in Tele-Tubbyland. The level is nice and bright, again suitably done for a kids level and camera clues are well provided. There are a number of minor flaws, such as poorly lit statics that didn't match the light of their surroundings, a wrong lever animation and some strange invisible walls encountered in the outdoor landscape. But there are also a variety of nice touches with a neat maths puzzle, some humour involving electrical wiring, a cute little putty-tat and some tongue-in-cheek Lara voice overs that have been well recorded. Not exactly my favoured sort of level, but it is a well carried out concept, that will provide you with a fairly stress-free hour of raiding if you fancy something on the lighter side. 2/4 secrets found." - EssGee (10-May-2008)
"In the same spirit of most festive levels, this is a very peaceful raid. The setting is really nicely crafted and has a very warm feel to it, having you run up and down the greenery quite a few times as well as swimming through the lake. It is a vast area, so it's easy to miss a few things, but generally a second look will get you through. Exploration at some points is hindered by invisible walls, but this is made up with the nice sky effect (it's just dawning in the 5 minute tutorial and it's early morning in the actual level), all the comments Lara makes through the level and the cute little kitten Lara won't take her approach onto. All in all, this was a nice level, although I have to admit getting lost a few times. 60 minutes, 3 secrets. 05/08 LHRP" - Treeble (10-May-2008)
"That was so much fun! i loved this environment full of ponds and windmills and grasses and gardens. the very first large area of the second level was great fun to run around in and explore. i actually enjoyed having Lara narrate about what to do and how to perform new moves. i especially liked the crawling summersault; i wish we'd had that available a long time ago. There was a great use of music and of animal sounds. And the level really maintained a cheerful and fun atmosphere the entire way through. And my son loved it too! Great work." - drguycrain (05-Jan-2008)
"Call me lazy, or a killjoy, or whatever, but when I download a single level, open the audio folder and see dozens of mp3 files to convert, I just can't be bothered. I played this level right after playing the builder's Jade Empire, and the sounds left over from that epic fit this one just fine. We have the beautiful surroundings that are becoming this builder's trademark, as well as a dose of the tedium that I felt dimmed the luster of Jade Empire. However, it was not so pronounced here, and you didn't have that much distance to cover in order to get back where you needed to be anyway, so I'm not fussing this time. Since the level is intended for the young folks, there are no enemies, and I enjoyed my hour-long romp through an idyllic country estate dotted with lakes and windmills. Recommended for a relaxing seasonal change of pace." - Phil (24-May-2007)
"In this campestral level all is beautifull and nice. Full of colourful flowers, windmills, trees, some animals, a real peaceful environment. No enemies, no traps, the only danger you can find is to fall with the jeep into the water. A lot of new objects very well made as the level itself. Moreover Lara give you hints once in a while. The best option for children. A professional work." - Jose (19-May-2007)
"A beautiful little adventure, with all the charm expected of an Easter level. First off the location was lovely and Lara will be exploring lakeside areas with windmills, water birds, and rolling greens hills, it is quite the fairytale setting in fact. You will also get a tutorial throughout so that new players can become accustom to the controls. Lara will be searching for levers, a mosaic tile and later on keys to the jeep, and then you can go for a drive. The final area was stunning with a white building to explore, and here you will have a small block puzzle to solve but it's nothing too taxing. The secrets were nicely placed, and everything looked smooth and well presented. All in all, this is an excellent level for all ages and all types of players." - Moonpooka (09-May-2007)
"Another demonstration of christoph's excellent technical ability. A lot of care went into the small tutorial and all the audio narration and it gives this 30 minute adventure a very nice touch. The new moves are cool but not really needed here. Nice use of cameras throughout. The level itself primarily looks good because of many objects, including the windmills and the jeep. I also liked the timer for the flares. Gameplay is mainly some back and forth exploring for keys, the four secret roses and a nice little mathematical push puzzle near the end, but as a seasonal adventure this is pure fun to play through." - MichaelP (22-Apr-2007)
"Thanks Christoph for this nice Eastern level. It sure made my day. I could do without the tutorial part but I liked the new crawl move, as that is indeed splendid. The level is pretty and clean and almost a walk in the park. Even this jeep ride I could enjoy. The 4 secrets were easy for me to find, but that is OK. I wouldn't expect anything else in this enjoyable adventure." - Gerty (20-Apr-2007)
"I don't think I could have asked for a better level than this on Easter Sunday. Christoph brings us a relaxing adventure into a verdant grassland with beautiful lakes to hunt for the Easter Egg, and before that there's also a nice tutorial section that I believe would be perfect for those starting out on Tomb Raider. I really liked Lara's voiceovers here, she sounds like she did in TR3, which I mean as a compliment. The use of large textures thanks to the NGLE is also really nice, and they are applied quite well to guarantee a visual spectacle throughout the level. I also did like the idea of the timer that shows up on the flare to let you know how much time is left before it goes out, and the candy and Ricola candy medipacks were nice additions as well. The gameplay here is fairly linear, and Lara also helps you out in certain situations as well, mainly by guiding you to know what you're supposed to do. The level features a nice jeep ride, and there's also some funny moments as well. I really liked the fusebox moment, and the kitty was adorable as well. Hunting for the secrets is also a nice incentive too. Overall, I really enjoyed this level - there are no enemies, so it's quite peaceful, and the chosen music and background audio is wonderful and immerses you in this beautiful level. For an hour of relaxing raiding, this might just fill the spot." - Relic Hunter (14-Apr-2007)
"The beauty in this level is obvious straight away. I particularly liked the long grass. Although this is not the first level I have played which includes new moves the tutorial was a nice touch. This and the fact there are no enemies means this is a great holiday level suitable for kids. Not difficult although I missed a secret. Did I mention how great it looks?" - Jez (14-Apr-2007)
"This is an utterly charming 'kinder' level, with an initial tutorial and continued instructions from Lara as you enter the game proper, making it an ideal introduction to raiding for the novice of any age (As a side note, the voice casting for Lara is absolutely spot on). It looks and sounds wonderful - the countryside is beautiful and flower filled, the birds are singing and the sun is shining brightly. This level is most definitely worth playing just for the feel-good factor. You get to explore all the gorgeous areas, ride a jeep and solve a little maths puzzle, before picking up your Easter egg and getting a Happy Easter message. Lovely, just lovely." - Jay (13-Apr-2007)
"These holiday games are always so charming and this one is no exception. There is a tutorial to introduce new players to Lara's abilities - and I love that idea when building a game targeted for our younger raiders. The object of this game is, of course, to find the Easter Egg. You will delight in the venue which is beautifully constructed and utilizes a functioning windmill. There are 4 secrets to find and I will have to go back and search for two that I missed. Thank you so much, Christoph, this was thoroughly enjoyable !" - Mugs (10-Apr-2007)
"It's a wonderful Easter level with not so many bunnies or eggs though. The setting is beautiful, with much greenery, trees, flowers and watermills. Lara has to drive around after finding the keys for the jeep and open the doors or lower the blocks needed so she can finally get the Easter Egg. The wall switches though go down a second before Lara uses them. The four golden roses I found were nicely placed but not hard at all. The end was great with a bunny waving at us and a poster with Lara dressed a pink bunny, hilarious. Try it out for an hour of fun with no enemies or nasty traps." - Kristina (09-Apr-2007)
"What a fantastic mini adventure! The tutorial level, to learn the new moves and the mail level gives you about 1 hour of pure joy. The levels are really easy but are filled with cool things, such as windmills, waterwheels a cat and of course an Easter bunny ;);) All this mixes in a stunning environment and beautiful surroundings! I must also say that the author has done a perfect job in using the trep to the full. Huge areas with no sign of any flickering or use of distant fog! The secrets where easy to find and so where the puzzles. I must admit that my poor math skills got me stuck near the end though *blush*. Just a few minutes that was hehe. The textures and lighting is done to perfection. Way to go, Christoph!" - QRS (09-Apr-2007)
"This is a really sweet level set suitable for children and adults alike. Level one is a tutorial level of sorts where Lara explains her moves and then it is off to find the Easter egg in level two. The gameplay is mainly finding keys and pulling levers, I especially liked the floor lever that looked like a log! And there is also a jeep ride so Lara doesn't have to run everywhere and a mathematical moveable block puzzle. There are no enemies as this level is aimed an young children but as I didn't find all the secrets it is not so easy as you might think! The areas are full of beautiful gardens with trees and flowers, really nicely textured and although I didn't see any I heard birds chirping throughout the level! The windmills and waterwheels really moved thus adding to the illusion of reality. When you find the Easter egg you also find the easter bunny and a bunny Lara! A lovely relaxing level." - Kitkat (09-Apr-2007)
"If I had to pick a level for children, this would be my first choice. A tutorial level to learn the controls, rather simple gameplay, and Lara says a lot of hints too, for the very young all this would be needed. Visually it's a real delight, takes place in Netherlands I guess, at a beautiful lakeside location with windmills. Nice textures and lot of objects, flowers and grass, little fish in the water, a cute cat, everything is just charming. Good selection of music, especially for the jeep ride. This level has all, to offer a nice easy raid for adults, and ensure a great entertainment for chidren. So if the author had them in mind when creating it, achieved a perfect hit." - Akcy (09-Apr-2007)
