Reviewer's comments
"The continual shaking of the level wanted to make me puke and really it was not worth the agony you experience playing this 8 minutes of hell." - Torry (09-Nov-2022)
"Does anyone else sort of headcannon that Lara's riches come from exploits as these? You know, she uses her magic unlimited pistols while retrieving a lot of weaponry and ammo (plus a stash of medical supplies) and then barter all of that before moving onto the next adventure with nothing but pistols again? As for the level itself, the author states he didn't know how to stack rooms, so I wonder how tall that one room actually is, it's definitely twice as high as a standard 20x20 starting room. I love how all the ratings for this level up to this day look like binary code. 5 minutes, 1 secret/ 11/22" - Treeble (06-Nov-2022)
""I worked hard" to try not to puke due to the unstoppable earthquake when playing. I played this game because I was talking about awesome texturing with a friend of mine, so as both are easily triggerable by bad texturing I took this game out of a bunch and gave it a try, "I" really "worked hard" to attempt getting to the end and in the end "I" did not "work hard" because I preferred passing the ball to Doggett and seeing his video walkthrough. "I worked hard" to write this review ... do not play the game it ain't worth your time at all. Wolfy Regards." - Wolf7 (17-Aug-2020)
"Why put an earthquake all along the game? Useless and annoying. Textures very stretched but the best of this level is the review of manarch2 that made me smile a lot lol." - Drakan (29-Nov-2018)
"Rather than writing a review, I will simply mention a few key words so you know what to expect if you play this "level". Irritating, looping earthquake, stretched textures. No gameplay. Wall of water. That is all." - Ryan (08-Nov-2016)
"Another truly awful debut level that uses the default TR4 assets to ultimately very little benefit, with literally everything lacking any real form of polish here. And despite the builder's objections in his readme to not use the fly cheat as he apparently worked 'very hard' on it(in the biggest quotation marks I can muster), I used it regardless to save me a lot of time spent tediously running back and forth across empty lifeless boxy environments, with the in-game world shaking for seemingly no real logical reason as I progressed forward. So in conclusion, don't even bother with this one. BTW word to the wise Stewart... There's actually a line in the TRLE script that allows you to enable or disable the fly cheat. So, if you don't want us using it when going through your terrible levels, just turn it off you fool. It's as simple as that." - Ceamonks890 (09-Dec-2014)
"Instead of a review, I will mention one thing I found in an enhanced word document:

"I worked hard."

And that was the best joke I have heard today." - manarch2 (22-Jun-2011)
"My girlfriend saw lara picking up the secret ammo and she thought the game is locked up... :D:D:D So there can be no points for secrets. I also can't agree all the triggers are placed correctly, as there is no need to pull any lever switch to complete this level. So there's no need to give any points for gameplay and puzzles as well. The level can get 1 point for enemies only, but the whole rest is simply bad. SUMMARY: One can get an epilepsy attack due to playing this sHocKInG game. I'm surprised there were no events like that yet." - DJ Full (21-Sep-2010)
"What should I write to this demo? One word is enough, actually: CRUELLY!! Lara runs through infinitely gigantic rooms, which are filled with endlessly long textures, for only a few Baddies, Lara can gather up so much ammunitio, that she gets backache of it. Some lever must put down to open a few doors to find the Horus-Eye. With it one opens the door and behind it everything is like before, with the exception that these are water rooms. On the way to the level end, one can find so many Medipacks which hands it for 10 other levels. If one simply go on with diving, one comes anyhow to the level end. The whole one has lasted no more than 10 minutes. And to all abundance an earthquake immediately starts after the start and does not stop up to the end any more. Result: Really only for Hardcore-Raider thought which simply play everything. The rest is warned" - Scottie (17-Apr-2009)
"In my opinion the rooms are too much huge, there are not puzzles, only pull some switches and in general the aspect is bad with all those stretched textures. Is not a good idea to play all the level with the earthquake, it's very annoying. What can I do with all the ammo I found in the secret at the beginning? And all those medipacks in the water room? If the final version is similar to the demo I think not much people is about to play it." - Jose (12-Jun-2008)
"This game is very, well, not good. THis is not my favorite becuase its very easy, the puzzles are easy, the enemies are incredibly bad, and the objects just seem out of place, the sound isn't relaly good, and the atmosphere isn't the right vibe, and the textures are really unrealistic." - Vaughnage (04-May-2008)
"My opinions on this level have pretty much been said by other reviewers already...simplistic gameplay, bland visuals and an extremely annoying earthquake amount to a level that needs bucketloads of improvement before it can be a success. The builder has managed to use objects and triggers correctly though, but this only adds a solitary 1 point to what I think it otherwise deserves in the category." - Spike (27-Apr-2008)
"Here is a quote from the ReadMe for this level: "The water is actually a wall of water; this is because I did not know how to stack rooms." Nothing else needs to be said." - Orbit Dream (26-Apr-2008)
"Well, the download comes with an extra document asking you not to cheat. You don't need to. A never-ending earthquake really spoilt the level and then the swim was just awful. I found 1 secret, less than 10 mins playing time and the author is going to have to change a lot of things to make the proper level a good one. Not entirely recommended." - Cory (26-Apr-2008)
"There is a simple readme attached to this level. It says don't use DOZY cheat, because it took the author a long time to make the level. Don't worry you won't need to, the end is at best 10 minutes away. I guess the definition of a long time means different things to different people. It's a brave step to release a level, and whilst the author may have toiled hard to build what is seen here, this is just not release quality. 10 or so rooms mostly 20 clicks high with massively stretched textures, no lighting to speak of, and a couple of levers, doors and ninjas to attend to. Nothing in the level bears any resemblance to a dungeon, as the Title implies. A bit more time and care required to make this into something acceptable." - EssGee (26-Apr-2008)
"A demo with nothing really thrilling to do apart from flipping a few floor levers and killing some ninjas. Big rooms with stretched textures and the lot. An earthquake to endure from beginning to end. Earthquakes do not bother me , but I don't see the point of it ? The rolling balls were pointless as you can shimmy around the platform to get the weapons, in fact this was the best moment of the demo :) I would suggest the author to rebuild the Tutorial level following the manual , at least to grasp what a level should look like." - eRIC (26-Apr-2008)
"DO NOT dozy? DO NOT shake... I still feel sick to my stomach with this endless earthquake. NOT FUNNY. And since when is the rule: this is a demo so there are some bugs? Please go back to the manual and read the damn thing. I know what I am talking about as I can do better than this. Still no clue why I got 78 grenades and almost as much revolver ammo???" - Gerty (26-Apr-2008)
"This obviously is one of those levels, where the author deemed it unnecessary to give the manual a second glance, and it shows in every imaginable way. The whole seven minutes I spent here, I spent in a never-ending earthquake, the rooms are needlessly large, just as needlessly empty (except for the one secret I found that's filled with enough ammo for the revolver and grenade launcher to pull you through a decent medium-long level series only using those weapons) and there's been no consideration put into texturing as a room usually uses 1 or 2 textures tops, and the same are stretched, applied listlessly and generally not pleasing for the eye. The lighting is non-existent as well, and you don't even need to activate the levers to open the corresponding doors. Due to the already mentioned secret, every enemy that appears (usually out of thin air) is a non-issue, and the level ends abruptly in the middle of a particularly long swim, and the water room is actually somewhat tricky to get into (though possible). All that said - the picture I've painted of the level is probably not a very enticing one, and though the author notes in the readme file that he's open to suggestions for improvement - I'm not really sure where I could start from all the above. Actually, I could sum it up in one sentence - Please make the tutorial level using the guidance of the provided manual! It really pays off if you want to make a decent level that players could enjoy - as I don't really think I could list this one in that category." - eTux (25-Apr-2008)
"eTux explained everything so well in his review, what could I possibly add? Well, nothing, I guess - except maybe the one thing the author MUST NOT use in his next level: never ever trigger an earthquake that does not end! Even though this demo is played through in less than 10 minutes, I still had a headache afterwards..." - MichaelP (25-Apr-2008)
"I could forgive the fact that this debut level has all the usual hallmarks of the inexperienced builder because everyone has to start somewhere and this is a demo and thus perhaps allowed to be a bit unpolished (although it would take a heck of a lot of polishing to get it to an acceptable standard). What I am completely unable to cut the slightest bit of slack over however is the constant earthquake that makes the whole thing almost unplayable. Honestly, is there anybody out there who actually enjoys playing through earthquakes? Maybe there is and if you're one of them, take a look at this little demo - it's only short and you get to kill a ninja or two and a couple of mummies, throw a few switches, find an eye of Horus, pick up a huge amount of supplies and do a spot of swimming." - Jay (25-Apr-2008)
"This is an 'old school' first level - stretched textures, paperthin walls, enemies appearing out of thin air... So I'll try not to dwell on those factors. All the lever/door triggers work properly. The secret chime sounds (it is in plain view and I will admit to being set on fire the first time i went for it!) The water room is a little tricky to get into but the builder does mention this 'bug' in the reademe. The main negative aspect for me was the never ending earthquake... Not fun. The builder does have a develpoed storyline for the full level (so the ideas are there) I just think he needs to go through the tutorial level in the manual to learn how to make his ideas a reality." - Kitkat (25-Apr-2008)
