Reviewer's comments
"I really enjoyed this christmas city level. From the mission with the cat in the hotel at the beginning to the tricky timed run to trigger the fireworks and escape on the zipline at the end it was a lot of fun exploring around the snowy city in and out of buildings and underground areas with tricky platforming puzzles, fans and death squares to avoid, clever moveable block puzzles, shooting tasks, character interaction, tight roping, item collecting and even a motorbike to ride so theres lots of variety here in terms of gameplay but also in environments as well in terms of all the different areas to make your way though such as shops, hotels, frozen pools, libraries, industrial underground areas and outdoor areas. i highly recommend this to players that are looking for something light and relaxed as well as fun and engaging as i believe there is something here for everyone" - John (14-Jan-2022)
"Very well designed level, I enjoyed play this level. I only got stuck in the part with the shootable wall where Lara is crawling and I did not know what do so I helped with walkthrough. I recommend this level, have fun !" - Lioness_86 (06-Jan-2021)
"This is a perfect Christmas level. Lara breaks into a toy store, explores some sewers and climbs on countless rooftops in her quest to fix the bridge that is preventing her from reaching a Christmas gathering in a square with her friends. I loved the gameplay, because it combined solving puzzles and combining items (some novel ideas there) with some challenging (but not impossibly difficult) jump sequences. It felt very authentic (the bakery was very cozy) and it ended with a blast. There was a funny bug at the very end where I managed to get on the zip line exactly as Lara caught fire, resulting in Lara's flaming body crashing into the Christmas tree square, which I expect was rather unpleasant for the crowd that had gathered for Christmas celebrations." - carolinux (06-Jan-2021)
"Another one of those "short but sweet" levels - it's sometimes a bit too predictable and could contain more than two locations but there's no problem to finish it, no major mistakes, and I was never annoyed by anything stupid during that one hour it lasted. It nicely reflects the mood of the season but also worked when I played it in June." - DJ Full (16-Jun-2019)
"Excellent Christmas level. Of course, nothing really innovative, but a level to explore and think, with a great design, perfect texturization, very good care with the objects and atmosphere, nice environments, no difficult secrets, comments and help on screen, no much backtracking, not hard tasks, peaceful... Really a level to enjoy a very good time for everybody. Highly recommended!" - Jose (27-Mar-2019)
"Definitely Christmas, unlike Another Winter Forest. The use of traditional carols at the beginning and at the end is especially effective. There are no enemies, but deadly water and frozen water must be navigated, together with a deadly floor. The story line is cute, with Lara being in a rush to get to a Christmas party only to be stymied by a raised drawbridge that she spends valuable time trying (and succeeding) to lower so she can get across on the motorbike. Lots of challenging twists and turns along the way, spiced with three secrets that provide little tangible benefit other than snowflake satisfaction. The lighting is darker than I like in Advent levels, but plenty of flares are provided. The ambiance is perfect for the season, and I believe that this year's crop of Advent levels is the best ever. High recommendations." - Phil (12-Jan-2019)
"A rather peaceful level from this author! Don't ask me why but I thought this was a horror level, like Shattered Ties from the same author, so when I discovered it wasn't I was a little unhappy - I loved ST - but I changed my idea and I started becoming happy as soon as I got into the city ... Man ... did it look fantastic? Of course it did! But now let's start the real review. The gameplay implies exploring firstly Lara's apartment into the building, while trying to find a way in order to turn on again the elevator that is missing a fuse ... stolen by a kitty! Secondly we explore the little town and here starts the real game I would say! In the small village the gameplay is much more varied, from tasks like shoveling an I phone that was glued to the surface of the lake - yes, it's exactly as I described - to an easier jumping sequence on the roof of the houses. Enemies are non-existent, unless we consider the townies as enemies - since they made Lara work while they stayed still the whole time caring of their own business -, but this doesn't stop Lara from caring a weapon! If only it wasn't a toy! The toy crossbow was indeed a neat idea, unfortunately I spared all the arrows before needed and I had to start the game all over again! Objects are well placed and secrets are pretty unique and neat! I haven't found them all, only two out of three, but they were pretty clever and satisfying to find! The atmosphere was stunning, I really enjoyed walking around the nighttime city partly covered by snow! Sound and Cameras did their job perfectly as well! Lighting itself was very good, and worked pretty good together with the subtly snowed textures. My conclusion is that the author has made another awesome game, perfect together with a cup of hot chocolate in front of a cozy fireplace in a snowy night. Totally recommended. Wolfy regards." - Wolf7 (10-Jan-2019)
"Another lovely snowy Advent level, this time set in the city as Lara struggles to get to see her friends at the party. Obviously, being Lara, nothing is straightforward and she has to undertake quite a few tasks before the celebrations begin. There's a lot of fun exploration and nifty ideas going on, plus the ending with the fireworks Lara has to escape from quickly on a zip line is wonderful. Good fun." - Jay (03-Jan-2019)
"This one was a lovely, snowy Christmas gift that I thoroughly enjoyed in spite of the non-linear (?) parts that made me scratch my head once too often. The general atmosphere has some brilliant parts, namely the bar with the jazzy music and the final fireworks after the quick run to the zip line. It's not without the odd slice of danger but it's basically quite peaceful and rather well designed. Thank you." - Jorge22 (02-Jan-2019)
"This level is so cute! Everything is great for me, I really enjoyed the tasks that Lara has to accomplish to advance the level, I never saw something like the conveyor belt puzzle, that was new to me, the textures and lighting fit very well, the objects were perfectly placed, soundtrack and atmosphere incredible too, and I was surprised when I walked into that woman's bathroom." - ameliacrofty (01-Jan-2019)
"I considered this a perfect level in its style. It is easy, but not too much (specially at the ending), recommended for all kinds of raiders, demands good sense of observation, has creative instances, a lovely feeling for the right music and when, and good puzzles. It proceeds without a single flaw. I liked in special the use of sprint to go along a rope (a business that can be mightily tedious), and the thieving cat. Thanks a lot!" - Josey (28-Dec-2018)
"Another very nice Christmas level that maybe has you explore sewers and ducts too extensively but manages to keep interest from start to finish. This is mainly due to the little tasks you are provided with, none of which is overly involved but still the feeling of satisfaction was present from time to time. There are also some puzzles in here, some including boxes, while there's an interesting take on a conveyor belt that's actually straightforward (you can't actually do a wrong move here) - maybe this idea can be further worked upon in future levels. The animated and static objects add a lot to the scenery and the three secrets are decently hidden as well. Visually, this game is very atmospheric and shares a nice festive mood; texturing and lighting are solid. Overall a nice little 30 minute adventure which is very appropriate for the season." - manarch2 (27-Dec-2018)
"Lara arrives late to a party only to become a last-minute firework technician. Gameplay is mostly exploration with some nice puzzles. I particularly liked figuring out how to get the toolbox open. My only gripe was the ending which traps you with invisible walls, which is a bit nonsensical. Just the right amount of decorative objects were used to fit the mood, and the interaction with other people is nice. The mood is festive and immersive, and the geometry is solidly built. Textures are great, maybe a couple of wallpapered slivers but not to a distracting degree. Lighting is good but I would like to see more colors instead of just yellow and blue. Overall a pleasant Christmas raid. 50 minutes." - JesseG (27-Dec-2018)
"Another charming entry in this year's Calendar, with a bit more brain power required than usual. It's actually pretty straightforward once you hit upon what your next objective is, but you will definitely need to spend a bit of time thinking about what you have to do beforehand. Not that anything here is difficult to accomplish, though. There's a bit of variety added into the gameplay with a couple of nice raising-platform puzzles, a brief bike ride, an ice melting sequence, deadly floor jumps and a timed run with a twist near the end. The surroundings are good looking and colourful, which is always a plus in my book. Definitely recommended and I'm rather looking forward to the final Advent Calendar treat this year." - Ryan (26-Dec-2018)
"A fun level that takes place in a city. The level was adorable and definitely fit the theme of the Advent Calendar. Some things required some figuring out. I think this was a good level." - Victoria (25-Dec-2018)
"This was an EXCELLENT level! Very well made. It's linear but not linear at the same time. It's very well put together, puzzles aren't overly difficulty either. The NPCs in the game have little quests too, it's super cute. I enjoyed this level immensely, absolutely wonderful. Thanks so much! Merry Christmas all!" - MizzCroft (25-Dec-2018)
