Reviewer's comments
"Self-explanatory: a bunch of twisted lines drawn to make you lost then found. You already know if you like it or not. What they don't tell you about is an over ten-minute pushblock inbetween. Add unmarked traps, unbreakable static cameras, excessive travel due to gating and no visuals to attract your sight, and you end up with a level which is too long even though too short. Secrets help with enemy disposal but the overall thing is barely optional." - DJ Full (30-Nov-2023)
"Not entertaining this level with unmarked boulder traps, a long time crawling with no sense, a very annoying puzzle with moveable globes where you must move them very long distances, later a very nasty maze with more unmarked traps and finally another uderwater maze, this one not so hard. The main tasks: push buttons, pull switches and few more, always without cameras to know what you're doing. So if you decide to play this level, I advice to follow the walkthrough instructions. Not for my taste." - Jose (31-Aug-2020)
"Here we have mazes, as one would expect from the title, as well as some traps, mummies, a demon boss fight, and a straightforward but time-consuming pushblock puzzle. The mazes are actually not too complicated compared to what I've seen in other levels, but the unmarked spike traps and randomly appearing boulders were a bit annoying to stumble upon. The rooms are very wallpapered with a strange mix of realistic and cartoon textures, but at least the lighting is colorful, if a bit too dark. The boss fight at the end with the Iris as a prize was a decent finish. I'm still not too fond of mazes, but this could have potential to become a legitimate adventure with more attention to detail. 34 minutes." - JesseG (18-Mar-2020)
"Yet again, a level with a title that already gives the game away before you even start. Plural, in fact, as you get three distinct mazes (a crawlspace maze, an underwater maze and a land maze) to roam around in. Now firstly, I commend anyone for even giving an attempt at the level editor (it's more than I've ever been able to do), but unfortunately I just didn't glean a whole lot of enjoyment from this one. The enemy placements aren't too bad (they're even quite neat), but it's otherwise pretty much an ordeal throughout. The maze sections were tedious enough, but the ultra-lengthy globe puzzle became a chore really quickly and the level never really gets itself into gear. The landscapes are rather dark and barren with bland texturing, despite the occasional splashes of colour. The boss fight came as a surprise before the relatively abrupt ending (and you can even exit without picking the Iris from the pedestal), but I found this level too frustrating to be enjoyable. Sorry." - Ryan (09-Sep-2019)
"As most of you know by now, I'm not one to bad-mouth custom levels, especially debut efforts. There are several reasons for this. One, I'm easy to please, and two, our ranks of competent builders seem to be thinning of late, and it doesn't make much sense to discourage those who are still willing to put the necessary effort into compiling a playable raid, doubly so for those just getting into the game. All this being said, I just didn't have a good time with this one. It's much too dark in places, there's an unforgivably tedious pushglobe puzzle that requires little brainpower to figure out but much too much time to complete. I used DoggettTV's video to play, so I was never lost, but I wonder what would have happened had I chosen one of the other three available crawl spaces at the very beginning. (I never had the opportunity - or desire, for that matter - to go back and find out.) My game crashed at the end, and this is something we haven't seen since the earliest years of the level editor. Maze does have its moments, but not enough of them to earn a recommendation." - Phil (09-Sep-2019)
"Not worth the time spent. The gameplay is extremely tedious, as you might have guessed from the title there are a few nasty mazes in here but also an incredibly tedious pushable puzzle, irritating darkness and no really enjoyable sequences at all. The enemies are decently placed and a few objects are decently chosen, but mostly everything feels entirely random. The dark atmosphere works in an odd way, with some dark ambiance and decent sounds, but cameras and textures are badly placed and especially the texturing leaves a lot to be desired with so many misplaced and wallpapered bits. The architecture did not seem like more than just built without care. I was really glad to have finished this after 30 minutes with both secrets found..." - manarch2 (31-Aug-2019)
"There wasn't anything so special about this level, except some fantasy lighting, and the use of newly made textures which I hadn't seen in any adventures before. The number of crawlspaces in this game will certainly make you quit the game, and forces slow gameplay to the general atmosphere overall. Compass has also been disabled, so I suppose you won't be able to cheat...! Thanks!" - Mehrbod (30-Aug-2019)
"Surely this one does not ressemble another level. An easy crawlspace maze at the beginning a bit on the psychedelic side given the coloured light effects, and a more complicated labyrinth in the last part of the level, this one on your feet. But it's not all mazy : in between there is normal rooms to raid, notably a big one with ledges from where you will solve a rather long pushable coloured globes puzzle. In these different areas you will meet an eclectic assortment of enemies with flying beetles, giant spiders, mummies , a skeleton or a demoness at the end. Texturing is often repetitive and lighting is sometimes too dark or absent (this lack is better seen in the final labyrinth). The builder has often used fixed cameras when you make a jump from ledge to ledge, that was okay , the few fair traps also, which lead me to the things i disliked : the few booby traps ! also the audios sometimes a bit weird , and the use of the pulley : how one is supposed to know how many times this pulley must be pulled or did i missed a clue ? Some things are better appreciated : a few custom objects like the flares (flary in Polish i like how this word sounds) and you can see that this builder has some good ideas of his own : the mirror room , or the flipmap to brighten the lighting when the demoness is dead. 45 minutes - 2/2 secrets" - eRIC (30-Aug-2019)
