Reviewer's comments
"Well, OK, I know this is a demo, but I honestly don’t know how the builder expected anyone to rate it when it contains no actual gameplay! It looks rather good and it’s a great shame nothing was ever done with it, but that’s all folks!" - Jay (16-Aug-2019)
"Absolute waste of a download this one I am sorry. Nothing to do, nothing to shoot except for a lonesome mummy that does not die in any event and corridors leading nowhere." - Torry (01-Jun-2018)
"Crikey, that was very short indeed! If you feel like spending a couple of minutes running through a couple of corridors and admiring the (admittedly well made) objects and textures, well here you are. I personally don't feel it deserves any points for gameplay whatsoever though as that is pretty much the modus operandi here, but that's just me. This might have ended up being a project that the whole community was waiting for, but now we'll never know as it has been nearly 16 whole years since this pointless demo was released. No finish trigger, so exiting the game crashes it to the desktop. Definitely not recommended." - Ryan (29-May-2018)
"The first bug the author should fix is the continuous crashes when the player tries to load a savegame. There's a good work with the outfit, new objects, textures and lighting, but I couldn't find some flares to light the dark areas and there's absolutely nothing to do in this short demo except admire the environments and avoid the mummy, so I think more things should be added before release a demo." - Jose (19-Jan-2018)
"Yes,I know;this review is a bit of a cheat, really. Although there is a certain fascination with the concept of Demo's as being a snapshot of the authors mind at a certain moment in time.I'm sure the builder was most preoccupied with the possibilities of his level concepts way back in 2002;and,indeed,the evidence on offer is that he had considerable talent as a builder (lighting and textures are well up to par with what was possible at the time),but that life (as it so often does) simply got in the way. Whatever the cause, this tiny demo exists today as no more than a relic of failed aspirations. Or,to put it another way,a complete waste of download time." - Orbit Dream (20-Oct-2011)
"A strange rating from me, because this rooms easily could be part of a highly rated level and noone would complain, no, the objects are really good, I liked the mummy and the custom textures. But unless there is ANY gameplay I can't give points, there simply is nothing. I am sorry. Full version would have scored pretty high, I just guess. But sorry, not this one." - manarch2 (18-Mar-2011)
"This level is really a showcase for fantastic new textures outfit and hair for Lara and impressive looking objects. I get the impression this was intended to eventually become a futuristic level all shiny objects and metal parts. Don't know what was going on with those shades she wears! Or for that matter her hair has she been scared to death and turned grey or is the new fashion to have white hair. There's one zombie grumbling his way around a very bright room. Shelves of steel with green glass that you can shoot. There's one room where you look through a grid floor and see a block but there's no way down there! It all looks like the start of something big but that's all we see - the start and judging by the date of release that's all we're ever going to see." - CC (06-Jul-2004)
"Although this is just a demo and there's absolutely no gameplay other than just getting to look at some rooms and the nice objects I believe that the demo shows a lot of good things to come. To start - Lara's not the same. The future eventually would arrive and Lara's grey hairs as well. The totally new catsuit with futuristic glasses (with nightvision maybe?) was a great touch and the atmosphere wheew was spooky. An abandoned futuristic lab with only one survivor - well he was moving at least. I loved this demo and I really hope the Jade Moon will be complete one day now matter how long it takes. :)" - Treeble (07-Jan-2003)
"Lara as a blonde hmm not sure if I'm ready for that I do like the Wonder Woman like outfit though and the new hi tech textures and objects are pretty nice but even as a demo there is no gameplay whatsoever. Now we await the full version....that is if one is on its way." - Sash (02-Dec-2002)
"I will not hold my breath as so far hardly any demo turned into a full level. And if this will be full level make it a bit lighter. This level took me as long as I needed to install it and that is about 2 minutes. The mummy reminded me of the movie 'The night of the living dead' 06-10-2002" - Gerty (13-Oct-2002)
"I'm gonna be hard but try to be fair: there's no point in releasing demos to game listing sites. Either complete a new custom level (a REAL level) and release it or put a demo on your site to show its progress (and 'advertise' it on game listing sites). So 0 for GP the 5 for EOS is because the retextured mummy made me think of the superb Resident Evil series (well done MDN) and the shiny objects (very good). The hair on Lara however looks like you have to adjust the contrast button but then all the rest would look bad. And what's with the groin area thought I was watching a blue movie (is there no underwear left in the near future? lol). Oh yeah title's good too now make a game that fits the title ok?" - bERT (25-Sep-2002)
"If you have a few minutes to spare download and play this demo. Even though this is a demo with no finish trigger it does offer some great new objects and enemies which MDN must be praised for. The texturing on the objects can be a sight for sore eyes sometimes because of the amount of reflective textures but that is really being picky. Some parts of the level are not lit at all but do create that space base feel. Overall this is one of the most original levels I have played and I can't wait for the full release." - Lil Kid (23-Sep-2002)
"It was fun to spend five minutes looking at the level that MDN is putting together. The atmosphere is quite spooky and the retextured mummy fits right in. There are some great new objects including some pipes that look like they're made of chrome and the way they look when the light reflects off of them is very realistic. I can't quite describe what the building looks like - it's kinda like an office building but the rooms don't look like what you'd expect. This needs a lot of work mainly things to do and some puzzles but from what I can see this will be an interesting level when it's finished. I'm not too sure about the outfit though - if the author sticks with this one it needs a lot of work done on it first." - RaiderGirl (21-Sep-2002)
"This demo is just about running around a few rooms to show off the new coloured lighting effects new custom objects brilliant textures and newly created costume. Lara looks totally different and also there is a retextured mummy there is no finish trigger and the main point of the demo is just to give you a quick taste of what is to come and I can't wait!" - John (21-Sep-2002)
"There is nothing to do in this demo except take a look around. No enemies except a soldier zombie I believe some new objects quite colourful. What made me laugh though and really I couldn't stop was Lara's outfit it's a red-blue-silver outfit her hair is white and that thing on her eyes well that can't be glasses I don't know what it is but it makes her look...funny. Anyway it looks nice but surely enemies and puzzles are necessary if someone wants to call this a level. It took less than five minutes to see all the rooms." - Kristina (21-Sep-2002)
"I had to give a rather varied review on this one...It was pretty cool but lacked a lot...There was no gameplay to speak of the only objective (unless I missed something) being to check out the cool zombie and impressive objects and textures. I ended this in about 5 minutes and spent another 10 searching for something else to do and I took it there was nothing else...I had to give a good score on enemies and objects the zombie was cool Lara's outfit was cool too (at least I liked it...) and the objects were awesome typical MDN- very shiny :D I really liked the plants and railings but the stairs seemed to have a bug in that first area...there is a nice futuristic atmosphere here no sound included and no cameras but there was a cool lighting effect when walking into one room...textures are few and used a lot the lighting was good :) I hope to see a full version with some good gameplay at least something to do...well anyway nice new objects and textures if you like a futuristic level with shiny objects and a wild outfit check this one out :D I can't wait for a full version just give us some stuff to do...:)" - Chronicles5 (19-Sep-2002)
"I take your word for it that there is no finishing trigger so I didn't bother to look for walkthrough walls pushable blocks or things to shoot. I liked the atmosphere and some of the new textures but Lara's outfit is a bit over the top isn't it? And the visors she has on make her look like someone in a mugshot." - Dimpfelmoser (18-Sep-2002)
"A demo in its true sense - no finish trigger nothing to do here and you will have covered all ground in 5 minutes. It is a showcase of things to come (well hopefully as often enough these demos did not seem to end up in full levels) with some decent custom textures and objects a remeshed mummy and a custom outfit for an aged Lara that is a matter of taste I guess. And of course there is a neat lights on effect but that's about all that's worth mentioning. Needs a lot of work to become a real level but shows great promise." - Michael (17-Sep-2002)
"Nothing spectacular gameplay wise in this demo you just have to run around the rooms a bit and watch some of the neat effects (the light that turns on when Lara enters the room) and there's no finish trigger so you actually can't tell when you've seen everything. There is only one zombie who is not a big threat really but the new objects are quite nice (even if Lara's inventory could've been a bit different) the textures are fine and the new (well rather old) Lara is really something different but this demo was supposed to only show you how the rooms feel and has done it's job. Can't wait for the full version." - eTux (17-Sep-2002)
