Reviewer's comments

"There is no real gameplay in this level, you just have to push lara's jeep to the gaz station, this is not really funny but whatever, I also made "not so funny joke level", so I suppose that sometimes it is funnier to make than to play these levels. The idea was quite nice, even if not good enough to make a whole level, but I suppose that this "gameplay element" put into a whole adventure could be nice. The atmosphere is quite nice, you could imagine yourself pushing your car, because you have no gazoline left in your car. Texture and lighting were not that good, but that's not the point of the level. Quick level to make, quick level to play." - Lara_Fox_Croft (13-Mar-2017)

"Well it is a novelty and Lara has at least got stronger. A masochistic task for a lady though:)." - Ryan (09-Jan-2016)

"You find yourself out on the middle of a desert highway, presumably pushing your jeep to the nearest gas station to refuel it(and rather effortlessly I might add), leading me to assume that Lara secretly possesses some degree of superhuman strength. But beyond this brief description, the potential appeal will be short-lived here. So only really worth one quick playthrough." - Ceamonks890 (08-Dec-2014)

"I only reviewed/rated this due to the laughs it provided. The sound of the jeep being pushed like a concrete block was hilarious, as was the concept and the fact Lara only had one brake light working. I did find a compass but sadly, when I reached the garage there was nobody there to serve me and the Pepsi machine had broken so Lara died of thirst :P" - High Priestess (23-Nov-2014)

"It appears Lara has run out of gas, so lets quickly fill up and get her out of here, death valley is no place to spending time. Quick is the most fitting word here, since it's all over in 2 minutes, which incidentally is less time than it took to write this review. After a short flyby, you push your jeep along the road to a gas station, and you're done. I've not seen the jeep used a pushblock before so that's different. Texturing is not bad but poor quality textures used, and drinks dispenser is twice the size of Lara, never mind. This is a curiosity mostly." - sonnyd83 (21-Aug-2013)

"Very short level, it could've been very good with a little bit more gameplay. The task was fun but very short. Textures and lighting - nothing special. I guess it's not bad for a joke level." - misho98 (30-Jul-2012)

"This could easiy be the shortest level I've ever played. There's just a poor objective which consists in pushing a jeep through the simple road, which should be rather a small street. No objects on the road, and the only object there is here is the gas station. Textures are very simple and the gameplay is awful. No secrets to find." - MrJavi94 (28-Jul-2012)

"This game answers the question "Did it seem real?" in one of the best way I've ever seen in the custom level world. Also, our task is rewarded by an obligatory sound of accomplishment. I give 2 points for objects (if it was a typical level, I would've given 1 due to little amount of them, but in this case I can give 1 extra for their usage). Also 2 points for one of the most difficult secrets ever. I had no chance to find it myself (I had accidentally read a spoiler), but I wonder how many people has found (and will find) it on their own. Because when such crisis like lack of gasoline comes, few think about searching for anything else than fuel. 3 points go to custom garage textures. Constant lighting in the open desert receives full 5 - it's one of the several cases when it really can't be better. SUMMARY: Five minutes You will remember till the end of Your life. It's a little bit odd to expect a finish trigger here, but it exists indeed." - DJ Full (01-Feb-2011)

"I can agree to Oxy: The idea is near to a real life problem. But after 2 minutes the "fun" is over." - manarch2 (23-Oct-2010)

"If you love your ride than you push your ride. And with it everything is said. What should I write yet? This level reminds me anyhow of the level Rollercoaster by Yasin. The idea quite feels well, actually, but the conversion has completely failed. And where here now the joke should be, unfortunately, I could not ascertain. He was probably hidden so well that I could not find him." - Scottie (29-Apr-2010)

"I spent about a minute in this random level until I realized you could push the jeep and must get it to the gasoline pump. (pushing a jeep sideways like that is quite impressive!) Overall I spent a grand total of 2 minutes and 43 seconds. There are maybe 5 or 6 textures used overall, though at least some effort was shown in lighting. Not much to see here." - SSJ6Wolf (31-Mar-2010)

"This is great idea. Lara is without gasoline and she must push her car to the gas station. Since this level is pure reality, I give 10 for idea." - Oxy (01-May-2009)

"Well, what is there to say? You push the truck to the filling station. A nice little joke level though." - Cory (22-Feb-2009)

"A short level where you drag your jeep to a gas station and do a bit of jumping on the canyon slopes to retrieve your compass. While this gets a low review overall, i honestly wish we had more levels like this that incorporated more mundane-type scenes and events into our adventures." - reborn1995 (24-Nov-2007)

"It's a shame the idea of Lara running out of petrol in the middle of nowhere was wasted on a joke level. Because I really think that could have worked great in a real level. Anything to give us something other than the old 'searching for an artefact' cliché. Of course, it would have to be pulled off better than this. While the premise of the level is kind of funny, pushing a jeep for a minute and a half isn't. Which, incidentally, was the reason I put off playing this level for so long. There is only so far I will go for a free review. This is definitely one of the better joke levels I've played. I guess it's true what they say - in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man really is king." - Magnus (06-Sep-2006)

"A great joke level the idea is to pull your Jeep to the nearest gas station as it has run out of gas. Well I surely loved this joke level, the only joke level which defines the meaning of joke level." - Anurag (25-Dec-2005)

"Hahah! I had a good laugh playing this level. Or should I say pushing that car?! :) Cool idea which should be implemented in a real level." - QRS (12-Dec-2005)

"Absolutely brilliant but very short joke level! Great idea!!! Go and have a laugh!" - Tinka (27-Oct-2005)

“A charming little joke level with an amusing touch as Lara’s jeep is out of petrol and she has to push it all the way up the road to the petrol station. There’s even a secret!” – Moonpooka (30-Sep-2004)

“An amusing little level all you have to do is drag your jeep to the gas station to fill it up very short but a clever idea! lol the secret is pretty clever as well the compass hidden somewhere in the sand where Lara obviously got peed off and threw it out the window. Download it just to see it.” – Aims (15-Jul-2004)

“The author shouldn't really care about the scores that I gave for this 'joke' level because they have nothing to do with his skills with the level editor. In fact he helped me correct the most obvious mistakes in my level which will be released anytime soon and he helped me fix two big problems in my level. There isn't really any gameplay because all you have to do is push Lara's jeep towards Rapetou's gas station (I gave 5 for the textures that were in the gas station). There are two ways for the player to end this level. Either you push Lara's jeep towards the gas station or you go and get the secret which is a compass. In that case tomb4.exe will crash. If this level were incorporated into one of his real levels (he also could've put it as a bonus level) then I wouldn't have given these low scores.” – Sakusha (17-Apr-2004)

“Took me three minutes to push the jeep to the gas station and the level ends - so what was funny here.” – Yoav (08-Mar-2004)

“Well I am steadily making my way through the joke levels. This was cute and I found the secret without reading the other reviews - I am so proud. I must say though that I enjoyed this level more because I still had the sound file installed from the bERT joke level - so it played during Lara's long drag up the highway. Let me tell you dragging a jeep around is sure a lot less tedious with some 40's big band music playing (or whatever that music from bERT's world is).” – Lady Lara (22-Dec-2003)

“*LOL* Unfortunately originality can't be rated because this one would score high. There isn't much to talk in fact writing this review took longer than to play the actual thing so try it out yourself.” – Treeble (22-Sep-2003)

“Well this ‘level’ gave me a good laugh! Lara pushing her car! I would love to see it as a part of a ‘slightly’ bigger level... Really liked how the gas station looks and those soda machines made me thirsty! I even found the secret! (I am a lousy secret finder!)” – G.Croft (20-Jul-2003)

“Guess all that lifting shimmying block pushing etc has really paid off for Lara. How many people can push their vehicle to the gas station like that when they're stranded in the middle of the desert? Looks like it made her so mad to run out of gas that she threw compass out into the sand dunes. This level just needed a little something more I liked the soda machines though.” – RaiderGirl (01-Jul-2003)

“Another joke level. The only thing Lara has to do is push the jeep to the gas station and the level ends. It's just an outside area with a long street ahead. At least nowadays authors do warn us when they release a joke level.” – Kristina (26-Jun-2003)

“As a joke level his is a really good one - Lara's jeep is stuck in the middle of the road and you have to pull (or push) it to the nearest gas station - hilarious! Definitely worth a try.” – eTux (26-Jun-2003)

“I wasn't going to bother downloading another joke level but the idea of this one sounded so intriguing that I thought I'd take a look. Well it did make me laugh. Joke levels probably don't come any better. 09.06.2003” – Jay (09-Jun-2003)

“Well..... for one this I liked better than Lara in a box. Try to top this I dare you! 05-06-2003” – Gerty (08-Jun-2003)

“Panne d'essence = no more gasoline and you get this download that includes a French script and a tut rebuild making me think that Lara is going to speak French and have another great adventure. HA HA HA! Nothing more than Lara’s jeep that you have to push to a gas station neatly adorned with Coke and Pepsi machines – that’s it...all done...reminiscent of that great thriller Lara in a Box.” – Wendee (04-Jun-2003)

“Don’t you hate it when you’re driving along listening to your favourite Celine Di....oops I mean Dixie Chicks CD in your car and half way through ‘Sin Wagon’ the car up and stalls because you stupidly forgot to buy petrol (gas if you’re a yank) when you stopped at the last petrol station (gas station once again for the peoples ruled by Bush....and by that I don’t mean every heterosexual man) and instead got so lost in their enormous display of chips (crisps for those born in one of the 52 states of the grand united states) that the only thing you left with was a family size packet of cheese and onion! Or is that just me? Anyway what you get here is an empty tanked jeep a petrol station (re: check above reference) and a small stretch of road betwixt them you work out the math! There is aside from that 2 minute task a secret to find the compass but as there is only one way to advance this secret really isn’t much help maybe a jerry can would have been a little more kind to poor Lara’s biceps.” – Sash (02-Jun-2003)

“This is the most enjoyable Joke Level I've played yet; and there's even a little gameplay thrown in! Any reviewer who complains that this Level is a waste of a download and is a disgrace to the hard-work of other Level Builders really needs to be taken down to the nearest Hospital and have their (no longer functioning) brains removed and replaced with a combined 'common sense and humour inducing' device. They wouldn't regret it.” – Orbit Dream (02-Jun-2003)

“It's been a while since we had a joke level but the punch line in this one is really good and even the secret kind of fits in. Worth a quick look for a quick laugh...” – Michael (01-Jun-2003)

“How to rate a joke level? Well because it is the best joke level that I've played up to now (31-5-2003) I give it a slightly higher rating to make a distinction with the other joke levels. Lara sure pulls some muscle here phew that jeep must weigh a ton lol! Because the readme file says there is a secret I did find it but first was looking like mad near the gas station but it's not there: if only I had a compass...” – bERT (01-Jun-2003)

“Ha ha I wish I could give more for originality for this entertaining 2 minutes of gameplay. That’s why I’m giving a 4 in the Objects section. Lara is in the desert and her jeep runs out of gasoline what is she to do. If I tell you what she does it’ll ruin your fun. Hey Rapetou why don’t you include this in a bigger level? It would be great.” – CC (01-Jun-2003)
