1st Advent Calendar Level

WALKTHROUGH by Lizard Queen

Library

The level begins in a library and Lara says "Ooo, it's late. Time for me to go home".

Secret #1: Run ahead and make a hairpin turn around the first bookshelf. Climb the block at the end and up to the top of the bookshelf. Shoot the heart shaped stone and glass door. Do a standing jump (ctrl to change trajectory) and enter the alcove on the left which is Secret #1. Shoot the box on the floor and pickup Shotgun ammo. Turn left and shoot the box and pickup a small medipack. Reverse roll and do a running jump to the block ahead and pick up the crowbar. Exit the alcove.

Do a standing jump to the bookshelf on the right and drop down. On the right is a door. Use the crowbar to open the door and enter. Shoot the box ahead and jump up to pick up the Shotgun. Reverse roll and exit. Ahead and to the right is a well hidden crawlspace behind a set of chairs, between two sets of filing cabinets. Crawl through and exit onto a snowy courtyard.

Theatre Courtyard

Head to the far left corner of the courtyard and pick up a set of flares behind the trees. Reverse roll and notice a brown movable pedestal in the corner of the middle structure. Move the pedestal onto the green square at the "theatre" behind you. Reverse roll and head to the right towards the matching green alcove in the right wall. Pull the lever and a cutscene shows a pillar lowering revealing a lock in the wall. Reverse roll and exit the alcove. Notice another brown pedestal ahead and on the right. Move this pedestal to the red/orange square at the "theatre". Reverse roll and head straight to the matching red/orange alcove on the far wall. Push the lever and a cutscene shows the gate in the centre structure opening. Reverse roll and exit the alcove. Go through the gate in the centre structure. Jump and shoot the glass wall on the block above. Climb the block and pickup the Metal Key on the pedestal. Reverse roll and select guns before exiting as there is a lizard-like creature now roaming around. Dispatch the creature.

Secret #2: Locate the final pedestal in the centre structure and move it to the blue square in the next corner of the center structure. Head into the final matching alcove (on the west wall), shoot the box on the floor and pick up the Revolver, which is Secret #2. Reverse roll and exit the alcove.

Ahead and to the far left corner of the courtyard is the lock (on the righthand side when facing the theatre). Stand in front of the lock and press ctrl to automatically select the metal key. A cutscene shows the gates in the library opening. Turn left and head straight and to the right to the door where you first entered. Head back into the library and to the right through the opened gates. Shoot the two cats and the second gate opens. Pickup the large medipack and flares and head through the second gate down the stairs and left into a second outdoor courtyard.

Outdoor Courtyard

There is a blue alcove in the left wall with pushable blocks. Enter the alcove and push the first block as far into the alcove as possible. Turn left and push the block on the end once. Turn left and push the next block as far as possible. Turn right, then left into the next room. Drop down onto the first metal grate and the wall in front of you begins moving side to side. From the leftmost grate, when the block moves to the right, take a standing jump to the grate ahead (avoid the blocks with the arrow pattern as they will set Lara on fire). Turn left and take another standing jump to the grate ahead. Turn left, equip pistols and jump and shoot the glass window in the alcove. When the block moves to the right, take a running jump up into the alcove and pickup a large medipack. Turn right and pickup the Silver Star at the end. Turn left and jump up and grab the lever on the wall. A cutscene shows a gate opening somewhere.

Turn left and exit the alcove. When the block moves to the left, do a standing jump to the grate ahead. Walk to the end grate, turn right and do a standing jump to the next grate. Turn slightly to the left, aim for the grate in the far left corner and do a standing jump when the block moves left. Climb up the ledge, turn right and face out into the next area. From the edge of the ledge, do a standing jump to the grates ahead. Line up to the opened gate and take another standing jump to the grate ahead. Climb into the alcove and pickup the Red Star. [tip: save your game here] Sidestep to the left and pull the switch. A cutscene shows a block lowering, revealing a path out. [tip: Do not press any buttons while the cutscene is playing. Doing so could result in a blocked path] Exit the alcove and drop to the first grate. (If the moving blocks have frozen so that your path back is blocked, reload your save game and pull the lever again.) Do a standing jump to the grate ahead. Angle to the right and take a running jump to the grates on the left. Turn left and climb the ledge. Turn right and head straight through the corridor, exiting back outside. Turn left and follow the mouse (turn right) and use the crowbar to open the gate ahead.

Ahead is a gold fence around a pool of water (disguised as ice). Jump over the fence and swim down. On the floor and slightly to the left, pickup a Metal Key. A cutscene shows a door opening somewhere. Swim back up for air. Swim back down and in the north/east corner, pickup a large medipack. Swim back up for air. Face west and swim back down. Down and to the right is a doorway. Swim through the exit and through the circular blades. Follow the corridor and swim through a second set of blades. Swim up and pull out of the water. Pick up the Lasersight and exit. Head forward and pickup the large medipack and turn right. Head to the south/east corner and face the door. Press ctrl and Lara will knock the door down. Follow the corridor to the end and place the key in the lock on the left.

Fire Room

Turn around, jump back and grab the edge. Climb to the left and drop onto the block. Turn left and face a sloped block on the right. Take a standing jump to the slope. Jump again and turn left to land on the block on the left. Jump and pull the wall switch above and a gate on the ground floor opens. Jump back and grab the edge and safety drop down. Jump into the water on the right, swim to the bottom and pickup the second Silver Star and pull up. Look up to the ceiling into the north/east corner is a swinging ball. Combine the revolver and lasersight and shoot the ball. A rope drops from the ceiling. Climb back up the ladder on the north wall, shimmy to the left and drop down onto the block on the left. Make your way back to the block with the wall switch. Take a running jump and grab to the rope. Swing to the snow block and pickup the second Red Star. Drop down, turn left and pickup the flares in the corner. Turn around and make your way to the exit on the other side of the room. Before exiting, shoot the box on the right hand side and pick up the small medipack. Exit the room. Run to the end of the corridor and immediately jump back to avoid a boulder rolling down from the left. After the boulder rolls out of your way, turn left and head for the door at the end of the corridor. Press ctrl and Lara kicks the door open. Exit into the next area.

Skulls Courtyard

This next area consists of 4 skulls on pedestals. The sign on each one says "DON'T TOUCH". This is good advice. If you pick up any of the skulls, bad things will happen to you. Instead, turn right and pick up the flares in the alcove. The gate you see ahead is actually a pushable block. Pull the gate out and head down the corridor. At the end of the corridor, enter the crawlspace on the left. Exit into another room and a smaller lizard-like creature comes at you from the right. Dispatch the little guy and head to the end of the room on the left. Shoot both boxes and pickup the third Silver Star. Reverse roll and head around the central building, turning left and left again until you reach the wooden wall at the end. Pick up the flares on the left. The wooden wall is climbable. Climb up and to the left is a very well hidden alcove on the left wall. Drop into the alcove and safety drop into the room. Reverse roll and head left. Place a Red Star into the wall receptacle. A cutscene shows gates opening in the skull area. Turn left, shoot the box and pickup Shotgun ammo. Exit the alcove and shoot another small lizard-like creature. Ahead in the left hand corner is a heart shaped stone. Shoot it and pickup more Shotgun ammo. Turn right and exit this room via the crawlspace and back into the skull courtyard. Head through the gate and up the stairs. Place a Red Star into the wall receptacle on the left. Turn right and enter the next room.

Mansion

Turn left, open the door and enter the kitchen. Turn left and pull the large vase out of the alcove. Place a Silver Star in the wall receptacle. Exit the room and turn left through the newly opened door into the restroom. Turn left and place another Silver Star in the wall receptacle. Exit the restroom and make a hairpin turn left into the bedroom. Turn right and shoot the two boxes in the right hand corner. Enter the alcove and place the last Silver Star in the wall receptacle. Exit the bedroom and turn left into the last room, the living room. Music begins to play and there is a warm fire glowing and a Christmas tree with presents underneath. Head towards the Christmas tree and the level ends.
