LEVEL 1: QANYUNTHA’S PALACE
There are 2 secrets to find in this level.
You begin the level by sliding down a waterfall into a beautiful cave
with waterfalls. Climb out of the small hole, turn left and look for a switch.
Pull it to open a door above this area. Turn around and go around the rock to
find a ladder on the other side of the room. Climb up the ladder and at the
top, shimmy a little to the right to drop onto a tile. Make a running jump to
the other side and pick up the Small Medipack (1).
Look to the right to spot an open space. This is the door that you
opened with the switch earlier. Make a running jump towards that space. Go to
the left and push action on the door to the right. Jump into the room and pick
up the Gem (2).
Back out of the room and return to the platform that you used to make the
jump to the room where you found the gem. Now jump into an alcove in the
waterfall to find a switch. Pull it, and quickly run back and fall into the
water. Quickly go behind the waterfall and run into the open door before it
closes. Watch out for the spikes, and place your gem on the other side of this
room in the snake receptacle.
Climb up the ladders, and go to the corridor on the left. Climb down and
crawl through the crawlspace. Pick up a Small
Medipack (3) at the steps, and continue up the steps to
slide down into the waterfall cavern. Climb down to the water and walk through
the newly opened gates.
Go across the hall all the way. Jump onto the ice block, and make a jump
to the next ice block on the left. Make more jumps to the following two ice blocks.
Make a jump to the ice block on the right, and slide and jump to the next
block. Slide again and grab the next ice block. Run a little forward and fall a
short distance to another ice block. Back up and make a running jump towards
the bluish platform.
Pull up and pull a switch to see a camera of a block lowering.
Dive into the pool and swim into the corner on the left of the North
wall. Swim through the middle of the blades to avoid being killed. In the water
cave, swim up and climb out of the pool. Go through the opening in the wall to
emerge back in the hallway separating the water cavern and the large pool. Jump
onto the first ice block in the pool, then turn around and climb up into the
room. Take the Qanyuntha Key (4)from behind the grave.
Get back on the ice block and get to the third ice block, then jump and
grab the ledge on your left. When you climb up, a Fire
Wraith (1) will come from the campfire and attack
you. Jump into the water to get rid of it. Swim through the blades and climb
out of the pool and make your way back here. Climb up
the ladder, and as you approach the two statues, they start to emit fire. So
crawl as you approach them and pick up the Small
Medipack (5).
Stand in front of the statue on the left, then jump and grab the ladder.
Climb up, and pull the switch in the alcove. This will deactivate some spikes
that prevented you from placing your Qanyuntha key. Get down from where you are
by taking a running jump and you will land just behind the fire coming out of
the statue. Now get over there and place your key in the keyhole. This will
open some gates underwater.
Dive into the water and swim into the hall that the gates opened which
are to the left of the alcove that leads you to the waterfall cave. Swim
through the hallway and surface in a room with deadly water. Look behind you to
spot a ladder. Climb it and land on the platform. I recommend to save your game here, as this bit is tricky.
Take a running jump to the first slope, and slide, then jump towards the
next slope. Make another jump to the next slope, and then make a curved jump to
the next slope. As you pull up, you should save your game. Make a jump to the
next slope, and so on until you reach a flat spot. Make a running jump to
another slope, and make a jump to a hall. Walk outside.
Admire the nice landscape here, and then go straight to the door. Kick
it open and look for a switch behind one of the columns. Pulling it will open a
wooden door back outside. Go there and climb the ladder. Backflip and take the Red Stone (6). Use it in the white receptable in the
room with the columns. The door will open, and climb up the ladder.
Look at the ceiling. You will see that some of the tiles on the ceiling
have white webbing on them. You can monkey-swing on those tiles. Grab the tile
above you and monkey-swing, avoiding the swinging pendulum on the way, and land
on the corner of a tile with a key. Wait until the pendulum passes and quickly
pick up the Qanyuntha Key (7).
Back up and grab the monkey-swingable ceiling. Monkey-swing
to the platform with the Large Medipack (8).
Pick it up. Backtrack to the room with the columns and use the Qanyuntha Key on
the keyhole in the room with the burning platform. This will open the door to
the next room that contains another Gem (9). Place your gem in the snake receptable in the room with the columns.
This will open the door beside you.
Step into the room and you will see some trapdoors rise. Step onto the
first trapdoor on the left and wait until they collapse. You will land on a
safe tile and discover a hidden crawlspace. Crawl in for Secret 1, a Large
Medipack (10). (Also, note the easter
egg on the wall, as each secret in the whole level series contains one of
those, but I won‘t spoil them in this walkthrough). Pull the switch to hear
some boulders roll down. Crawl out of the crawlspace back onto the safe tile.
Do a curved jump towards the ledge and climb up.
Now let’s get to business. The trapdoors will rise once more, and they
will remain risen for a short time. So carefully make your way across, avoiding
the blades. Once there, go to the hallway on the left, and find a pool and
ladder on the right side of the room. Claim the Small
Medipack (11), then climb out
of the pool. Head to the other side of the room, to discover
another pool with a ladder. Climb up the ladder.
Turn around and discover the ice cave. Go down the waterfall and you
will later be treated to a fly-by of a cross that is in a closed room behind
one of the burning pillars. Continue down the pond and pull the switch on the
right. This will open that door we saw earlier and release a Wraith (2). Go back up the waterfall and lead it to
the cross, where it will explode. There is a switch on the right corridor when
you entered this room, so pull that switch to see a door open.
Back out of this room and climb up the ladder on the right side of the
hall with the pool where you found a small medipack earlier. Climb up this
ladder, and turn around after climbing to the top to see the doorway you
opened. Go in there and pull a switch on the other side, to open a door in the
room with the cross. So backtrack over there, and find the door you opened.
Vault up onto the platform, and run across the bridge to the Cathedral of Hope.
You are treated to a gorgeous flyby of the cathedral. After it, walk to
the edge of the balcony and line up Lara with the hole. Make a swan dive from
where you are standing and Lara will land in a pool of water. Investigate the
floor of the pool to find a Small Medipack (12),
a Large Medipack (13),
and a Qanyuntha Key (14)
between the two ways out of the pool.
Climb out of the pool, and place your key in the lock at the altar. This
opens a door behind the altar. Go there, and push the blue block once. Go
around the other side and push the block onto the dark tile. This opens a door
nearby. Go to the tile where the block was originally placed and climb up onto
the platform. In the small room, pull a switch to open the nearby closed gate.
Once there, find the switch on the wall to the left to open a door directly
below you.
Go where you opened the door and walk onto the pathway. Jump onto the
ice patch and run all the way along it. Later you will spot a triangular ledge
on the left. Jump there, and then jump up and grab the monkey bars.
Monkey-swing to a slope, then let go, slide, jump and grab the ladder. Shimmy
to the ladder to the right, then climb down a little, and shimmy to the left.
Then climb up and backflip onto another slope. Jump and grab the ladder. Climb
up and drop onto a platform on the right. There is another switch to pull here
that will open a wooden door back in the ice cavern. Use the monkey bars above
you to make your way back.
Grab the ladder, climb down, shimmy to the right, then backflip onto a
platform behind you. From here, grab the monkey bars, and swing out of this
area and land in the water. Swim to the waterfall and climb up. Now push the
blue block all the way down the pathway onto a dark tile. This opens a door on
the North side of the water cavern. Jump into the water,
swim to the North and then take a right. Climb out of the water.
Climb into the room straight ahead of you, then investigate to the left
to find a switch. This will be a difficult timed run, so save your game. Pull
the switch, roll, sprint out to the corridor after the
grave. Remember these tips: Sprint on straight runs, jump the corners, and run
through the spike ceiling. You should make it in time. If not, keep trying, and
you will eventually make it.
After the timed run, run to the right to a temple textured area, and
turn left. Keep going straight, then turn left for a Large Medipack (15). Go back and go into the alcove on the
left. Go up the slope, and immediately turn to the first tile on the left and
stay there until the boulders roll to the hole. Then turn right and continue up
the slope. The other boulder will fall and roll down, but it doesn’t pose much
as a threat.
You will come to a room with a burning floor. Jump onto the first
platform, then go straight to discover another
platform with a switch. Pull it to raise a platform. Jump onto the raised tile
from the first platform, and pull the switch to raise another tile. Jump on the
tile there, and make a running jump to the next platform. You will now encounter
even more slopes, so jump to the first slope, then to the next one, then to the
final one and jump onto the platform where the ladder is.
Climb up the ladder to a large room. Climb up the next ladder there,
then backflip, spin around, and grab the ledge, pull up and climb up the next
ladder, and once again backflip, spin around, and grab the ledge. Pull up and
grab the ladder above you. Monkey swing to the next room.
Cross the pendulum and you will come to a room with a Gem
(16). Pick it up, go to the next room and pull the switch.
You will see a camera view of where to place your gem, and the trapdoor will
also open.
Fall through the trapdoor into the big pool. Swim through the alcove,
past the blades, then climb out of the water and go on the first ice block.
Turn around and jump and pull up to the room where you found the first
Qanyuntha Key. Place your gem in the receptable, and you will see a gate open
underwater. Jump into the water and look for the gate you opened, which is on
the South wall.
Swim through the corridor ignoring the side openings and surface in a
room with these words on the wall:
"Intruder, do not free the one
who lost his face.
Shadows lie within his heart,
his mind is taken apart.
Frozen shall be his soul, mind, and body.
Thus let him rest in his deserved peace."
Anyway, walk up to the closed gate and wait until it opens. Go inside,
and slide down the slope back into the Cathedral of Hope. Across from you is a
new hallway. Pick up the Large Medipack (17)
and then go pull the switch, and you will free Qanyuntha
(3). Go back into the cathedral with Qanyuntha and notice
the two flames. You have to dodge Qanyuntha’s attacks long enough for the
flames to reach the pools with the two gems. Once the flames have reached the
pools, pick up the two Gems (18, 19)
from the pools. If you catch on fire by Qanyuntha’s attacks, duck in the pool
to douse the fire.
Run to the hall where you pulled the switch to awaken Qanyuntha. Run to
the newly opened corridor to the left, jump over the pool, and place your two
gems in their receptacles. First, go into the "Mind" room. Climb up
the ladder, then ignore the next ladder on the right
for now. Run into a room with a small pit. Push/Pull the ice sculpture onto the
dark tile. Now go to the ladder that you passed and climb that one. In that
room, pull a switch. Return to the hall where you placed your gems.
Now go into the "Soul" room. Climb up the ladder and once
again ignore the other ladder. Follow the corridor into a room with another ice
sculpture. First, go into the pit, and go into the dark corner. In here is a
hidden crawlspace, so crawl in for Secret 2, a Small Medipack (20).
Back out from the crawlspace and push the ice sculpture onto the dark tile.
Return to the ladder that you ignored and climb up. Go right and pull the
switch to open the door on the opposite side.
Run across the hall into the "Lair of Qanyuntha." You will
also see that the "Soul" and "Mind" pits are now frozen.
Anyway, run across the long hall ignoring the side passages into a room with
electricity on the floor. Pick up Qanyuntha (21) from the electricity. You will open the exit hall behind one of the
pillars. Go into either of the openings and run to a room with snow. Run to the
ladder to finish the level, and watch the cutscene at the end.
LEVEL 2: ATHENS
There are 2 secrets to find in this level.
After the opening fly-by, run straight and turn right at the
intersection. Open the door and shoot any wooden barricades that might turn up.
Run straight and open the next door. Shoot the barricade on the right and open
that door, but turn around and go to the lake. Jump into the water and
investigate the area with the remains of the horse statue. Pick up the Crossbow Normal Bolts (1). Now swim up to a
rock ledge near an indoor garden with large trees, and climb out.
On one side, find a switch and roll, then run as fast as you can to the
door on the opposite side of the room before it closes. Jump into the pool and
look for a switch on the ceiling of the small bridge. Pull the switch and climb
out of the water. Rush over to the column and pull it onto the square tile.
This opens the other door in the garden. Get back there via the new exit, and
swim to the rock ledge and go into the newly opened room.
Upon entering the room, you will hear some danger music. Not to worry,
since there are no enemies on this level. The room will also light up. Climb to
the center platform, then grab the ladder over there.
Climb up and you will be on the rooftops. Jump to the next roof, then turn
right, left, go straight, and turn right again. Jump to the other roof by
performing a running swan dive, or you will fall.
Shoot the window and enter. Before going down the steps,
shoot a window on the left and walk out. You will get a fixed camera angle. Run
to the wall on Lara’s right and you will go through it. Push the button inside
to open a gate by submerged stairs. Now in the building, go down the steps and
then climb down either ladder. Push a button on the North wall to see a gate
open. Exit this room and cross the Bridge of Hera. On the left take the Key (2) From the
pedestal. Return to the bridge and jump down into the lake. Climb out near the
shrine with the names of the gods. Use your key here to open the gate. Take the
Crossbow Normal Bolts (3) and
activate the switch.
Now head to the bridge of Hera and as you walk out, go to the right,
hang and drop to the platform. You will see an open gate. This is the gate that
you opened after pulling the switch in the shrine. As you enter, the gates will
close behind you. On the left, you can find a Torch (4). Carry it with you to a
room with two large candles. Leave it here, and use the small ledge on the left
to get up to the two buttons on the high ledges. Once both of them are pushed
in, the two large candles will be lit. Light your torch, then return to the
hall, and go into a side passage and light the candle. Activate the switch. Now
go to the balcony with your torch.
Leave the torch here, and make a swan dive towards the other balcony to
the left. Go into the room for Secret 1,
a Silver Key (5).
Go to the submerged steps and enter the left gate. Open the coffin on your
right for a Small Medipack (6)
and shoot out the window for Crossbow Normal Bolts (7). Now activate the switch, roll, sprint to the stairs and quickly jump
into the small garden on the right. Jump over the small gap and quickly
somersault over the burning floor through the middle before the doors close and
you will find Secret 2.
Discover the Crossbow Normal Bolts (8) and push the button to get out.
You’re done here for now. Return to the start of the level, and from the
direction in which you started, go left into the catacomb complex.
LEVEL 3: THE CATACOMB COMPLEX
There are no secrets to find in this level.
Go left and ignore the water holes. Look to the left for a keyhole.
Place your Silver Key in here to open a door behind you. In there, claim the Small Medipack (1) and the Crossbow
Poison Bolts (2). Leave and head for the transparent
window. On the left, pull the switch and quickly run all the way to the right,
then turn left and jump into the corridor before the door closes. Crawl under
the flames into a room with shooting darts.
On the other side of the room, push in the golden button to raise a
tile. Hang from a ledge near the raised tile and locate a jump switch. Slide and jump. You will land on a platform. Crawl through
the crawlspace to until you can stand. Climb up onto the higher ledge and look
behind you. Jump to a crawlspace with Flares (3). Get down and climb up onto the higher ledge once again, and go to the
end. Grab the shimmy crack and shimmy all the way to the right to a room with
the Zeus’s Key (4).
Pick it up and return to the room with darts.
Climb up onto the raised tile. Make a running jump and grab the rope. Swing
into the large pool in the next room. Swim to the Northeast corner of the pool
and locate a mound where Lara can stand on. Jump up and grab the rock ladder.
Climb up, then backflip onto a platform at the top. Jump onto the arch on the
right side and walk to the edge. Jump up and grab the black wall. Climb up and
then jump up and grab the black monkey bars. Monkey-swing
into a hall with a window. Look in one of the pools for an underwater
switch. Once you find it pull it to open a gate that lets you continue.
Enter the next room and take the path on the right. Look inside the
coffin for some Uzi Clips (5).
Take the other path and walk up the stairs. Climb up the ladder and you will be
in a hallway, then go right into a blue room. Jump to
the far left platform in the room and pull the switch.
Now make your way to the platform directly across from you. You don’t need to
use the platform with the blade. When you get there, pick up the Dead Man’s Keys (6) from the skeleton. Go back to the blue
room and grab the ledge of the platform with the blade. Shimmy all the way to
the left, but not around the corner and pull up. Make a standing jump to the
next platform on the left and return to the hallway.
Go to a room with a slope going down. Go left and into the corner. Pull
the switch there to open a door back in the hallway. Go to the left near the
blue room into a room with the quadbike. Kill the Jade
Warrior (1) that comes out. When he is taken care of,
use your dead man’s keys to get on the quadbike. Take the quadbike to where you
recently pulled the switch and ride with it down the slope onto a bridge.
Before going onto the bridge, investigate to the left to find a Large Medipack (7). Now on the bridge, turn right and drive
across the chamber and a Jade Warrior (2)
will stupidly run over to you and will be killed the instant he touches the
quadbike.
Look behind the columns and you will find some Crossbow
Poison Bolts (8) and Crossbow
Normal Bolts (9). Now go to the bridge on jump into the
water. Investigate the Northeast corner for an underwater switch. Pull it to
open a gate to the South. Go there and climb out of the water. Go straight and
into the cave on the left. At the end, open the blue door and walk up the
slopes. At the top, the two golden doors will open and you can bring your
quadbike here. Get on the quadbike and drive down the slopes and into the cave.
Drive out of this cave and drive up the steep slopes of the other cave. In the
next room, park your quadbike and look to the right corner and pull the jump
switch there. This opens the gate.
Get on the quadbike and back it up as far as you can. Now drive into the
hall with lava and land on the other side of the room when you drive up the
slope. Drive down the slope into the canyon. Park the quadbike on the second
ledge in the canyon. Look to the right for a passage. Jump from triangular
ledge to triangular ledge until you reach a larger one. Look for a crack on the
wall and climb it. At the top, backflip from the crack on
climb up onto the higher platform. Make a running jump towards the jump
switch.
Fall onto a ledge. Use the cracks on the wall to climb up. Make a
running jump to where you parked the quadbike. Look on the right wall for
another crack to climb up. Climb, and climb around the right
corner twice, then climb up. Run straight to the edge, and grab the ledge. Find the crack, and climb down. Go across the
hallway to the switch at the end and activate it. You will see two flames
burning down some stairs into their water pools. This also opens a gate in the
canyon area. Return to your quadbike.
Get on the quadbike and drive to the right off the ledge onto another
ledge and into the next room that you recently opened. Drive up the slopes, and
avoid the holes. Park your quadbike near the closed gates. Go back to the area
near the gate and look in an alcove for cracks on the ceiling. Use them as a
ladder and monkey-swing all the way. Let go of the cracks and grab the ledge.
Pull up, go left and climb up onto the small ledge. Jump to a ledge on the West
wall and pull up. Run into the next passage on the right.
Follow the passage until you reach the ledge. Turn around and grab the
ledge, then shimmy to the left. Climb up. Go forward, then turn left and fall
onto a ledge. Make a running jump to the sloping platform on the West. Climb up
into the new passage, and go right and push the button to open the gates where
you left your quadbike. Now go back there, but don’t get on the quadbike just
yet. Go into the next room which has four ledges on the walls, a slope, and a
spiked boulder on top.
Go up the slope. Don’t worry about the boulder because you won’t trigger
it just yet. Climb into a ledge on either side and
then jump to reach the jump switch. Once you pull it, you will trigger the
boulder. Jump to the left to avoid being flattened. Return to the quadbike and
drive it onto the slope, and park it here. Go into the next room and move the
turquoise table onto the circle tile. Now pull the cord to raise the tile. Push
the turquoise table along the path onto a gray tile to open the gate that lets
you continue.
Get back on the quadbike and drive it through the newly opened passage.
At the gates, park it, then climb up onto the platform
next to you. Pull the switch to open the gates. Now here comes an interesting
puzzle. There are four tables in this room: Two gold, and two turquoise. The objective here is to push the gold tables
onto the gold tiles and the turquoise tables onto the gray tiles. You have to
use the chain to help you regulate the tiles so you can push the tables onto
their designated places. Once that is taken care of, the gate that allows you
to continue will open.
Get on your quadbike once again and drive through the new passage and up
the slope into a large room. Get off the quadbike and climb onto the platform
in the middle of the room. Grab the rope above you and swing into the high
ledge with the switch on the West. Once you get there, pull the switch to open
the door on the opposite side. Swing over there and take the Poseidon’s Key (10). This also opens a gold door in the room.
Find the new passage and dive into the water. Let the current carry you back to
the large pool near the beginning of the level.
Jump into the water and swim into a passage on the East wall. Wade
through the passage and discover the new passage, then slide down the slope. If
you look down, you will see lava. Turn around and grab the ledge. Climb down
and then shimmy to the left all the way. When you can’t shimmy any further,
drop, slide, then jump and backflip, and quickly turn right to land on another
slope. Slide and then jump into the alcove. The next
bit is tricky. Follow the passage to a long slope. You will see spiked boulders
too. Go up a little and two of them will start falling. Avoid them. Go up again
and two more will fall. Dodge them also and go up. In the next room, take the Hades’ Key (11). The gold door in this room will now
open. Go there and you will be at the start of this level. Go left and go back
to Athens.
ATHENS (revisited)
(Pickups here will be counted as in the Athens level.)
Go on the rooftops using the entrance in the indoor garden. Jump to the
building that has the bridge of Hera. Go right and spot some stairs. Go down
the stairs and push the button at the end to open the door. In this room, place
your three keys and another door in this room opens. Go there and take the Gate Key (9). A camera will also show you where to put
it. Go onto the bridge and dive into the water. Remember the two submerged
staircases and gates? Go there and enter the right gate. Don’t shoot any
windows as they don’t contain anything. And don’t search the coffins either, as
they don’t have anything either. Continue through the hall until you come to a
room where spikes pop out from the floor.
Cross the spikes and go into either opening. Climb up and dodge the
blades. At the top, push a button on a wall to open the gates. Go to the other
side and place your gate key. A fly-by will show you where you have to go. Go
back onto the rooftops and go across Hera’s bridge into the newly opened gates.
Grab the zipline and slide down the rail. At the end, climb down and go down
the slope into the next level.
LEVEL 4: INSIDE THE TEMPLE OF THEON (PART 1)
There is 1 secret to find in this level.
Go forward and jump into the pool. Climb out, then
make a running jump to grab the chain. Climb up and backflip at the top. Make a
jump to a ledge, where a hall is. Go down the stairs into Poseidon’s room.
Watch the fly-by of the big hall. There will be three pools on the right
straight ahead of you. Jump into the third pool and pull the switch there. This
raises a tile in the North-East corner of the room. Find the tile and climb up.
Climb up onto the next platform, and climb up to the next ledge.
Run straight across the platform to land on another ledge. Pull the
switch and see that a rope lowered into this room. Swing to the other side
using the rope. Now go left and climb up onto a ledge with a slope. It’s tricky
to get up onto the next level, but it’s possible. Try jumping on the slope,
then jumping blindly and you should make it to the platform with a pool and
fountain. From there, make a jump towards a hall with a ladder. Once there,
climb up onto the ladder and go right.
Jump into the pool of water and swim all the way to a place with an air
hole. Here you can climb out. In here, climb out from a hole in the wall to a
room with a blade and a fiery floor. Carefully jump on the right corner of the
platform. From here, make a jump towards the next platform. Push the button
here to see a gate open up underwater. Now backtrack to where you first came in
to this room. Stand on the slanted block and climb up into the crawlspace. Now
make your way back to the hall with the ladder.
From where you are, go to the opposite hall and jump into the pool. Keep
swimming until you reach the gate that you opened. Swim down and go left. In
the mid-point, swim up for air, then climb out of the
pool. Go into the next room, then turn right into a
room with tapestries. Activate the switch here to open the first of two exit
doors. A door will also open in the previous room, which allows you to return
to the beginning of the level.
Go down into the pool where the chain is. Climb out, and look in the
East wall for a cave passage. This is the entrance to Hades’ hall. Follow the
bridge and then go down a slope. Jump onto a platform before sliding into the
lava. Use the ledges and slopes to make your way into a winding hallway going
up. Once you reach the hall, the door will close behind you and you will be
attacked by a Jade Horseman (1).
It will take some time to kill him, but eventually you will get the job done.
After defeating him, take the Jade Warrior’s Jewel (1) that he drops.
In one of the side passages, you can place your gem. This will open a
door nearby. Enter and you will be in the upper hall. There might be a Jade Warrior (2) lurking around here, so dispose of him if
you run into him. Anyway, climb the chain closer to the Hades picture on the
wall, and backflip onto a platform. First, jump onto a ladder that is on the
West wall. Shimmy around to the left, then backflip onto a platform. Make a
swan dive towards the balcony. Push in the button here to see a tile rise
across from the balcony.
Go back to the chains, and climb up the chain that is farther away from
the Hades picture. Climb up, and then make a running jump to the safe section
of the wall with a ladder on the East side. Climb up, and use the ladder above
you to make your way to the second platform. From here, time a running jump to
the next platform before the spikes pop out, then make a swan dive to the
balcony, climb up onto the raised tile, and make a curved jump to the platform
with the switch. Activate it.
From here, jump to the platform near the chain. This is
the chain closer to the Hades picture, so slide down the chain, and go
climb the other chain. Make a jump to the ladder on the West side. Shimmy
around to the right, and backflip onto the platform. Make a swan dive towards
the next balcony and push the switch to raise a tile across from the balcony.
Get over there, climb up, then make a curved jump to
the platform with the other switch. Activate it to open the exit door out of
this area. Jump onto the blue platform in mid-air, and from there jump to the newly
opened area.
As you walk out, look right to spot a ladder. Jump onto the slope that
faces the ladder, and jump on it. Climb up, then shimmy left around the corner,
climb to the very top, then backflip, and immediately jump and grab the higher
platform. Pull up, and pick up the Large Medipack (2). Crawl through the crawlspace to find Secret
1, two sets of Crossbow
Explosive Bolts (3, 4). You can’t jump into the pool because an
invisible wall will stop you from doing so. Anyway, back out of the room. Make sure your health is
full, and run towards the steep slope, curving right off the platform, and fall onto the rocky ledge.
Alternate way, no health loss, possibly unintended: slide to the ladder, climb just around the corner,
backflip with midair roll and curve right so Lara's feet touch the slope but the inertia throws her onto
the safe rocky ledge. Make a running jump to the next rocky ledge with the closed gate. Pull up,
and look at the wall. You will see that it has a small ladder segment, so jump up to that wall, and
climb up. Push the button to open the gate.
Go into the new area, and go up the slope. Stop at the edge, and make a
curved jump to the ledge on the left that the column is supporting. Climb up,
and make a jump to the high ledge on the left. Pull up, then
enter the hall on the right. Jump into the water, then
climb out at the bottom. Run forward and a Skeleton
(3) will wake up. Run past him, since you don’t have any
weapon that can dispose of him. In the room with platforms and lava, jump
towards the direction of the ladder, and note the closed gate that you pass by.
Before jumping onto the platform where you can climb the ladder, jump to the
right and push the button in the alcove, thus opening a gate in this room. The
skeleton should now be on the platforms. Make your way to the closed gate you
saw and now it will be open. This can be tricky because of the skeleton, as it
can push you off the platforms into the lava. Anyway, push the other button to
open another gate.
Now make your way to the ladder. Climb up, draw your guns, and go
upstairs. Soon, a Jade Warrior (4)
will attack you, so dispose of him. Continue to a room with a switch. Activate
it to open the second exit doors. You will also open a gate in this room that
lets you go back to the beginning of the level. Find the two exit doors that
you opened, and walk through them to finish the level.
LEVEL 5: INSIDE THE TEMPLE OF THEON (PART 2)
There is 1 secret to find in this level.
Run straight across the hall to a room with a higher platform. First,
locate the ladder on the left and climb down into the water pool. Turn around,
facing away from the ladder, then go right, and right again to climb out of the
water. Go into the room that has "Hades" written above the entrance.
Climb down the ladder. Then go down again into a room with pillars and lava at
the bottom.
(In the following paragraphs, I will try to tell you in which god room
you are. I may not know all of the rooms, but I will try to name them.)
First, go down the ladder on the first pillar, and push the button that
you find to open the rest of the doors in here. Climb back up onto the first
pillar. Behind the large columns near the wall, you can find a Small Medipack (1) and Crossbow
Normal Bolts (2). Go onto the pillar to the right from the
entrance of the room. Climb down the ladder here and enter the chamber of
Hephaestus. You will see that a pedestal with a skull is on fire. Get down to
the bottom of the room and look in the pool of water for a Torch (3). Light it by getting close to one of the
tiles with fire shooting out, and press action so Lara will light the torch.
Take the torch with you to the upper part of the room and light the large
candle. This will extinguish the fire surrounding the skull. Go to the pedestal
and pick up the first Hades’ Skull (4).
Go back to the pillar room.
Go to the next pillar on the right. Climb down and enter the next room.
Jump onto the platform ahead of you. Locate the floor switch and activate it.
This lowers the tile behind you, and you will also get attack by two Griffins (1, 2). Kill them and take the Jade Warrior’s Jewel (5). Go climb the ladder on the wall. Near
the top, backflip and grab the ladder behind you. Climb up, and place the jewel
in its receptable, to open the two gates next to you. Grab the ladder and
shimmy around the ladder to either side of the jewel receptable, and climb up
into the crawlspace. Climb out from the other side, shimmy to the ladder, and
climb up, then claim the second Hades’ Skull (6). Climb down into the bottom of the room and claim the Large Medipack (7). Climb up onto the ladder that leads back
to the pillar room.
Go to the next pillar on the right. Climb down the ladder and enter
Apollo’s chamber. Note the tile in the room that is on fire. Look left, and
make a running jump to grab the bars on the ceiling. Swing to the end of the
bars, and drop. From here, jump onto the slope, and jump from there, and grab
the ladder. Shimmy to the right, and backflip onto a slope, then jump onto a
platform on the lava pool. Make a jump to the next platform. The next jump is
quite tricky to make, as you can only stand on half of the platform. Step on
the vertex of the platform, then make a running jump
towards the gray platform. Climb up, and take the final Hades’ Skull (8). The fire that was on the tile will now
be extinguished. Return to the pillar room, go to the next pillar on the right,
and go across the hall. Climb up onto the higher platform, then
climb the ladder. Near the top, backflip into the blue hall.
Go up the slope. Enter the chamber on the left, and you will be in
Artemis’ chamber. As you walk in the chamber, jump into the pool on the right
and locate the small space in the water. Take the Lasersight
(9) and climb out of the water. As you get closer to the
pedestal, look left and take the Crossbow Normal Bolts (10). Now get over to the
pedestal, and pick up Artemis’ Crossbow (11). Go to the slope on the right, and spot a ball swinging on top of the
slope. Combine the crossbow and lasersight, and shoot out the ball. This opens
the door near the entrance to the chamber. Go over there and shoot the ball
there to open the door where you picked up the crossbow bolts. Shoot out the
ball here, and you will open the door behind the pedestal where you claimed the
crossbow. Pick up the first Poseidon’s Trident (12), and exit the chamber.
Go to the next chamber on the left. Two Skeletons
(3, 4) will rise. Destroy them with your
crossbow explosive bolts. After they are taken care of, activate the two
switches in the corner of the room. This opens the next gate. Go into a room
with a pool and tiles. Don’t jump into the pool. Now locate the button to the
left and push it. Turn around, and spot the next button. Make your way over to
it and push it. This will open the next door. In the new room, claim the second
Poseidon’s Trident (13).
Return to the blue hall.
Enter the next room on the left. On the left will be a Ghostly Knight (5). He can’t be killed, but he doesn’t pose
as much of a threat. Jump into the pool, and look into an alcove for a ceiling
switch. Pull it to open a gate in this room. Climb out from the water and climb
up to the alcove that lets you reach the monkey swing. Swing across to the
ledge. Shimmy left around the ledge onto another ladder. Climb down a little
down the ladder, backflip, and grab the other ladder. Climb up into the
crawlspace, and crawl to the end. Now climb down onto the platform with the
knight. Lure him to the side where you are, and jump over him. Take out your
pistols and aim at him. He will take out his shield, and stop moving. Shoot at
him, and he will back up. Then go push the button and jump into the pool. Swim
into the hole, and there pick up the last Poseidon’s
Trident (14).
Go back to the blue hall, and find the ladder that lets you climb up
into the large room near the beginning of the level. Now look for another
ladder that lets you climb up into the upper hall. Go into the chamber marked
with the picture of a woman with light brown hair. Walk into the room, and you
will soon be attacked by two Jade Warriors (6, 7).
Dispose of them and pick up the Jade Warrior’s Jewels
(15, 16) that they drop. Place the gems in their
receptables. The door will open, and climb up the ladder. Backflip
near the top. Go across the hall into the upper chamber. Use the bars on
the ceiling to make your way to the first Zeus’
Bolt (17). Go back to the upper hall.
Go into the chamber on the right, which is Hermes’ chamber. This room
has a pool, a Jade Warrior (8)
on the left side and a Ghostly Knight (9)
on the right. Jump into the pool, and swim towards the East wall and find a
wall switch. Activate it, then swim towards an alcove
in the North wall which has a ceiling switch. Activate it. The two switches
will open the gates on the platforms with the enemies. Climb out of the pool
onto the platform with the warrior. Dispose of him, and push the nearby button.
Swim up to the platform with the knight. Lure him as far away from the button,
then jump over him and draw your pistols. Shoot him until he is pushed away far
enough from the button. Quickly go push it and jump back into the water. Climb
out from the water using the platform in between the two platforms with
buttons, then climb up and claim the second Zeus’
Bolt (18). Return to the upper hall.
Now go into the next chamber on the right, to a balcony where you can
see lava. There is also a timed switch on the left. Pull it, then quickly turn
around and run towards the door before it closes, then jump onto the platform
straight ahead of you. This timed run is quite tight, so this
make take several tries. Once you make it, the timed door will open up
once again, and stay open this time. So jump back there, and make a curved
running jump towards the lower platform, and walk as far as you can. From here,
make a jump towards the next platform, and then find another switch. This one
is also timed. Pull it, then quickly go into the right opening, sprint past the
straight path, jump onto the block, then jump to the next block, then make
jumps to the other blocks and run into the room with the bolt before the gate
closes. This run is very tight, so it may take several tries to complete it.
Once you make it, pick up the final Zeus’s Bolt (19). A door will open that lets you go back to the upper hall. Now go into
the entrance that says "Temple of Theon."
Make a running jump onto one of the pillars, then
climb up. Enter one of the entrances, then turn around and spot a crawlspace.
Climb up and enter the higher area. Cross the hall and go outside. Place the
three tridents on the statues to open the door that lets you continue. Next,
place your skulls on the pedestals by going up on the square platform where the
pedestal is, then press action and place your three skulls on each of the
pedestals, which opens the next door. In this room, place the three bolts in
the bronze pedestals to open a trapdoor that lets you continue. Climb down, and
at the bottom, arm yourself with the crossbow and explosive bolts. Go further
into the hall and one arrow will blow the two Griffins
(10, 11) to smithereens. Look to the left and look
up at the ceiling for a swinging ball. Shoot it to open a gate with a button.
Go there and push in the button to open a door with another button. Get over there
and push the button here to open the door that lets you continue, and two other
doors that let you exit. Go into the newly opened room.
Walk up to the edge and grab the blue piece of tapestry. Lara will slide
and enjoy the very nice camera work and the AOD theme music. At the end, crawl
around to the left and grab the bars above. Swing to the next room and activate
the switch here, backtrack to where you landed at the end of the slide, and
climb up. Make a running jump to a ledge with the ladder, and climb up. Near the top, backflip onto a platform. Go to the great hall
on the left. Walk to the end of the bridge, then make
a running jump to the room on the left. In here, push a button to open a gate
in the room across from you. Make your way there, and take the Large Medipack (20). Go back onto the bridge, and as you walk
towards the way you entered the hall, you will see some Crossbow Poison Bolts (21) on a ledge. Pick
them up.
Now, make a jump towards the chain and slide down. Now jump towards the
platform on the right. From here, you can go into a crack, but we’ll go there
later. Make a running jump towards the ladder and climb down into the bottom of
the hall. You can find some Crossbow Normal Bolts (22) and a pack of Flares (23)
on the floor. Now run around the room until you find a swinging ball high in
the ceiling. It’s very difficult to spot. Once you find it, shoot it. Remember
the crack we ignored earlier? Go back there, and crawl into the dark crack.
Light a flare, and pick up the pack of Flares
(24). Go further and walk into a small, but tall room to
find Secret 1,
a Large Medipack (25)
and Crossbow Explosive Bolts (26).
Return to the great hall, and activate the floor switch.
Quickly draw your pistols, as you will be attacked by three Jade Warriors (12, 13, 14) and a Jade Horseman (15).
First, focus your pistols on the warriors. Then dispose of the horseman, and
pick up the four Jade Warrior’s Jewels (27, 28, 29, 30) that they all drop. Be warned as the
warrior that you knocked off the horse can mount the horse once again. Place
the jewels in their receptables to open the closed door in the pool. Swim there
and climb out. Pick up the Theon (31)
from the pedestal to open the next door. As you walk out, turn around and shoot
the swinging ball to open the exit door. Jump onto the tile with the flame
shooting out, and shimmy around the corner until you are close to the next
room. When the flame is down, jump there, climb up the steps, and go outside
towards the motorbike to finish this great level.
LEVEL 6: NL-TECH HQ
There is 1 secret to find in this level.
After the flyby, jump into the water, and locate a hole with a small
passage. Swim there, and go left at the intersection, here you will find a pair
of Uzis (1). The other passage
has a Large Medipack (2).
Remember to swim out of this area once you find one of the pickups to grab some
air, and go back there to get the second pickup. Once you have both items, go
back to the beach and climb out on the pier or the shore. Climb into the room
where the blue wall is, and there will be a Guard
(1) lurking around here. Kill him and take his Card (3). Return to the beach, turn right, and
right again into the passage. Equip yourself with the crossbow and explosive
bolts, and alert the two Dogs (2, 3).
One explosive arrow will take care of both of them. Don’t shoot them while they
are inactive, or the game will crash.
Search the crates on the right. You will find a pack of Flares (4) and two stashes of Uzi Clips (5, 6). Now go further down into the hall and
the camera changes to see a Guard (4)
high on a bridge. Ignore him for now, and head over to the large raindrops with
the NL-Tech logo and find some Uzi Clips (7).
Now go to the right. Climb the two crates, and climb up onto a higher platform.
Climb into the office building. Push the button near the door to open it.
Remember that guard on the bridge? He’s here now, so kill him. Investigate the
other small offices. You can open the closed doors by walking up to them and
pressing action. In the second office from the left, you will find some Uzi Clips (8). The third office from the left has a Dog (5) and nothing else. The last office has the
most important item, the Plug (9)
on the green desk. Pick it up, then return to the
beach. Kill the Dog (6)
on the way.
There will be another Dog (7).
Go left and use the card you acquired earlier on the right door. In here push
the button to open the door on the opposite side. In there, pick up the Shotgun Wideshot Ammo (10) from the crate.
Locate the crawlspace and climb in there. Climb over the next crate and locate
a button. Push it to raise a timed block on the beach. Quickly go there and
climb up to the small wooden bridge above you. Go to the left, and find a
button to push to open the nearby door. Kill the Dog
(8) there. Go towards the pipes on the left, and place
your plug in the receptable. This opens a door on the higher level of this
area. Go to the other side and climb the bars. Near the top,
backflip. Climb into the crawlspace and come out on the other side. Jump
towards the pole bar and swing to the wooden bridge. Remember to jump on the
left or right side of the bar or Lara won’t grab it. Anyway, grab the next bar,
and swing into the new room.
Crawl through the vent. Grab the ladder above you and monkey swing to
the crawlspace. Crawl through the crawlspace, ignoring the passage with the
fan, and climb out in this room. Kill the Guard
(9). There is a switch on a metal wall where the crates
in the center are, so activate it to open up the Control Room. Go there and
kill the Dog (10)
that attacks. You will also see two switches placed on black tiles. Activate
the switch in the green shaded alcove. The other switch will burn you. Now go
up to the hole on the ceiling in the West wall. Climb up the small ladder. Backflip
and follow the vent and find Secret 1,
two stashes of Uzi Clips (11, 12).
Now go into the room where you killed the guard, and go into “Offices B.”
Open the metal doors. As you go into the office, another Dog (11) attacks. Dispose of him and continue down
the hallway. In the next room, go to the metal doors on the left corner.
Another Dog (12)
is in here, so kill it. There is also a button to push here, so push it. Exit
this room and open the metal doors in the corner across from you. In here take
the Small Medipack (13)
and the Uzi Clips (14).
Exit and go into the room in the corner on the right. In here, you will find a
closed door with a card slot, so remember this place. Go into the last corner
room across from you, and here you will find two sets of ]Uzi Clips (15, 16). Exit and enter the hall on the South. Go up the winding staircase into
a dark and foggy room. There is a switch on the wall, so activate it to get
some light into this room. Look near the pool to find a Card (17). Take it with you to the North-West
corner. Put the card in the slot to open the door. Climb up the bars, and drop
off in the right alcove. Make a running jump to the crawlspace. Pull up.
In this room, go to the corner straight across from you and pick up the Crossbow Normal Bolts (18). Go to the next
corner on the right and crawl into the crawlspace backwards. Grab the ledge and
shimmy to the right, and around the corner. Drop onto the platform. Make a
standing jump towards the slope in the hall with flickering light. Then make a
running jump towards the crawlspace, and you will land on a platform close up
to the crawlspace. Climb in. Climb out through the other end, and shimmy around
the corners on the left, and drop on the safe floor. Crawl under the flame, and
then use the ladder on the ceiling to go to the other side of the burning
floor. In here, push a button on your right to open a timed door behind you.
This run is a bit tight, so the best way to get to the passage before the door
closes is to roll as soon as you push the button, sprint a little on the
straight path, and jump into the passage and the door should close afterwards.
Once in the passage, go up the slope to the right and push the button to
open the door in the pool behind you. Go back and the timed door will be open,
and it will stay open. Jump to the left platform, and make a running jump
towards the crawlspace. Go back to the upper hall, and find the other
crawlspace in another corner. Climb down into the lower hallway, and go to the
hallway on the South. Jump into the water, and swim through the tunnel. Ignore
the tunnel with the metal floor and ceiling, and continue swimming in the
concrete tunnel, until you surface in a room. Climb out, and run through the
tunnel, jumping over the pipe on the way. Push the button to open a timed door
in the water. Jump back into the water, and swim through the metal tunnel.
There are a few dead-end in the tunnel, but they are hardly noticeable.
When you make it to the pool, grab some air, and swim down again. Go to
an opening on the left, and stand on one of the submerged ledges in this large
room. Climb one of the ladder structures, and shimmy around the right corner. Backflip onto the platform and go into the hall. Open the
metal doors there, and activate the switch which is behind a pillar. This will
open a door in this room. Walk in here, and in the white room, a Dog (13) will attack you. Kill it and push the
button on the wall. The height of the water in one room will rise, so return to
the big pool of water. Swim to the next passage on the left. Swim through the
small passage, and surface in another small room. Activate the switch in this
room to open a door that you can see in a window. Return to the big pool, and
as you re-enter that place, swim twice to the left and find a small passage in
the wall. Surface in the room where you opened the door earlier, and pick up
the pack of Flares (19).
Go to the new passage, and drop into a room through a hole in the floor. Vault
up to the light platform, and walk to the edge. Jump to a gray platform, and
from there, drop through the next hole.
Go to the water maze. First go right and find a pack of Flares (20). Go in the other direction and there
should be a passage on the right. In there, go right again into a small room.
As you walk further, a Dog (14)
will attack you from behind. Kill it, and investigate the room for two sets of Uzi Clips (21, 22). Go back and go right, then right again
into another passage. Go straight then left. Activate the switch. Go back to
the passage where the dog attacked you and a door will be open. Walk into the
room, and go left, and push the button. The water level in a room in the big
pool will rise again. Go back through the door, and go straight, then right.
Climb up the ladder, and go through the new passage. Climb up the next ladder,
and backflip near the top. In this room, look for a hole in the ceiling, and
grab the ladder, climb the short distance and backflip onto a slope. Jump onto
the next ladder and climb to the top. Go further into the hall and a Guard (15) with his Dog
(16) will attack you. Kill them, and walk out onto a
bridge high above the large pool. Jump into the pool, and swim towards a low
passage in the East wall to be in the room where the water level was risen.
Swim into the newer passage, and climb out in the small room. Activate the
switch to raise the water level again, so go back to the pool,
swim to the top, and climb out of the pool.
Go across the hall, ignoring the two holes since they are acid pools, on
look in the corner straight across from you and pick up the Crowbar (24). Locate the crawlspace and climb down.
Cross this passage and jump over the burning floor. Use your crowbar on the
metal wall. Cross the next passage, and cross the tightrope. Cross the next
monkey swing. Walk to the end of the next tightrope, and then make a jump
towards the ledge by pressing jump, and holding up.
Don’t let go of action, or Lara will fall to the acid pool below. Once you grab
the ledge, pull up, and crawl left. Crawl out, then slide down the slope, and
grab the ledge. Shimmy right, climb up again, then backflip onto another slope.
Then jump onto a safe platform. Grab the monkey swing above you and make your
way to the jumpswitch. You will land on another slope,
so backflip to a safe platform. Return to the first safe platform in this
entire hall, and make a jump to another platform on the far right in the new
area. Jump to the next platform, then to the slope. Climb up, and slide, then
jump and grab the ledge. Shimmy left and climb up.
Grab the bars above you and make your way to the jumpswitch.
After pulling the jumpswitch, go back to the first hall with the acid
pool and you will notice that a block has risen. Get onto the block and open up
the metal door with your crowbar. Activate the switch inside to open another
metal door somewhere. Go back and grab the bars above you. Swing to the end of
the bars, then drop from the ladder, and grab the ledge. Pull up, then turn
around and pull the jumpswitch. This will open another closed door in the hall.
Go there, and before you hit the slope, go as far to the right, then before
falling down, jump right into a small pool where Lara can swim in. Climb out,
and go down. Let the current carry you. Climb out in this pool, and bypass the
flame. At the end of the small hall, locate a ladder on a wall in the ceiling
and climb up. Go into the crawlspace and go straight. Jump and grab the
parallel bar and swing to the other side. Then grab the ladder and climb to the
top, then around the corner, and backflip near the top of the ladder and pull
the jumpswitch, which raises a tile behind you.
Step onto that tile and open the metal door with your crowbar. Inside,
activate the switch to raise another tile in the room. Go there and climb up
onto the higher platform. Cross the tightrope into the vent. Go through the
tunnel all the way and climb up a ladder. Activate a button in this room to
open the door. Cross the bridge into the Nenivor lab. Go straight all the way
and enter the door on the right. In this room, find a ladder on the left, climb
to the very top, and then backflip and grab the ledge. Pull up, and pull up
into the hole in the ceiling. Push the button in this room, and jump onto the
platform with the number 1 and a biohazard sign. You will be teleported to
Control Room 2. Go down the hole and activate the switch to open the door on
the right. Climb up higher, and once more climb up higher. Run through the
glass and the AOD theme starts to play. Cross the tunnel and when the camera
returns to normal, pick up the Nenivor (25)
and the door in front of you will open.
Jump into the water and swim through the tunnel. Climb out in the small
room, and activate the switch. The door will open, so walk in there and you
will be near the helicopter. Go left to finish the level.
LEVEL 7: THE OUTSKIRTS OF HELL
There are 2 secrets to find in this level.
Slide down the slope and get on the motorcycle. Drive down the mountain
and try to stay out of the water, because contact with the water on the
motorcycle will kill you. A Star Harpy (1)
will attack. It’s possible to run over it with the motorbike when it flies low
close to the ground. Anyway, drive up the slope to the temple on the mountain.
Park your bike so you can get back to ground level later. Go into the temple
for Secret 1. Here you can find
two boxes of Shotgun Normal Ammo (1, 2) and a Small Medipack (3).
Get the motorbike on the ground and dismount. Prepare your uzis and go into the
cave. An Ahmet (2)
will attack, so kill it. There are two passages in the wall on the left. Go to
the passage that has tall pillars. Climb higher into this room by climbing the
brownish wall. Once you climb up there, another Star
Harpy (3) will attack. You have to get down to
ground level to deal with him.
After the harpy is dead, climb up again, and jump to the pillar straight
ahead of you. If you turn around, you will see some shotgun ammo, but we’ll get
to that later. Jump to the left of the next ledge across from you and climb up.
Climb up again, and turn around. Another pesky Star
Harpy (4) will shoot bolts at you. Kill it with the
pistols, since the harpy will stay at its current location and will attack you
with the bolts which are easy to dodge. After it’s
dead, go to the rocks on the right and cross them. Now try to face that alcove
with the shotgun ammo, and make a standing jump there. If you get in there,
claim the three boxes of Shotgun Normal Ammo (4, 5, 6). From here, make a jump towards the pillar, then
climb up to top level. Go to the hut on the right. Before entering, climb up
onto the roof, and then make a jump towards the roof of the other structure.
Pick up another box of Shotgun Normal Ammo (7) and pry the Valve Pipe (8)
from the wall. Now go to the hut. Go left and find three stashes of Uzi Clips (9, 10, 11).
Continue and look in the right corner upon entering the next room. Climb up
into the space near the entrance for some more Uzi
Clips (12). Now go through the crawlspace in the
tunnel.
At the other side, you will be in another outdoor area. Go left and Lara
will start looking at a wall. You can climb this wall. Also, there is a higher
ledge that you need to climb the wall to reach. Once you get there locate a
crawlspace close to where you are. Crawl into the room and locate the Shotgun (13). Take it and go back. Continue jumping
from ledge to ledge. When you reach an intersection, go right. From here, jump
to the roof of the structure from where you came out. From there, make a jump
to the bluish temple room. In here, you can see that there are tiles that you
have to use to cross to the other side. Seems simple, doesn’t it? Well it’s
not. Most of the tiles will kill you, and there are only a few of them that are
safe. You can climb into a room above by using the bricks on the right. The
safe tiles back down are the ones that have red sculptures here. The only way
that I could get across was to make a grid of this. I would post one in the
walkthrough, but I don’t know how to make one on the computer. Anyway, once you
figure out how to get across, take the left path.
As you go further, the blocks will start moving. Remember that the tiles on the floor with a kind of “Track” indicates where
the sliding blocks move. Go straight and avoid them, then go right. In here,
you will kind of have to squeeze in through the two blocks. To get across, time the right moment and make a swan dive to the
next alcove, and you should make it. Now avoid the next block and go left. Then
do the same with the next moving block. Avoid the next block and go straight,
then avoid the next one and go left. Avoid the next one again and go into the
passage straight ahead of you. Go through the passage and there is another
block for you to avoid. Avoid it, then avoid the next one and go left. In this
room, avoid the next block. Then once again avoid the other block. Avoid it
once more and go into an alcove with a sloping passage. Go down the passage.
You will come to a large room with spinning mechanisms and blades.
Cross the first two tiles that the spinning mechanism covers. On the
third tile, you are safe. Make a jump to the next one. At the tile that is
closest to the wall, you are safe. Jump onto the next following tiles until you
reach the blades. First, grab the ledge with the first blade and climb up at
the corner of the ledge. Make a standing jump to the next ledge with the blade,
and climb up at the corner. Jump to the next safe tile. Make a jump to another
ledge with a blade, and climb up at the corner. Make a jump to the slope,
slide, and grab the next ledge. Pull up, then make a running jump to the next
passage and climb up. Jump over to the button and push it to open the door. Run
past the flame and quickly run to the pool with red water. Dive in and quickly
take the Large Medipack (14), Shotgun Wideshot Ammo
(15), and Shotgun Normal Ammo (16). Climb out from the
pool and wait until the flame reaches the pool. The water will turn into lava
and the room will light up. Go to the other side of the room and use the block
to pull the two jumpswitches on the walls. A tile in the middle of the lava
pool will lower, so pick up the ]Mystical Key (17) there. Exit this room by going through a
hole in the wall.
Go into the tunnel with a lit flare. You will soon see a crawlspace, so
go there for Secret 2,
a pack of Flares (18)
and a box of Revolver Ammo (19)[/color]. (However, I
don’t understand why there is revolver ammo as there is no revolver in the
game.) Anyway, go back to the tunnel and walk to the end of the wooden door and
it will open, thus bringing you back to the cave where you killed the ahmet.
Now go to the rocky slopes at the entrance to the cave. In a wall, there are
two passages on the far left and far right, and two crawlspaces near the
middle. Using the slopes, get into one of the left crawlspace. You can use the
other one, but it’s impossible to get there then. When you get there, take the Small Medipack (20). Go back out and enter one of the side
passages by climbing the bricks. In this room, go up into the middle of the
circle structure, and place your mystical key. The door in the pit will open,
so jump into the water.
Swim to the crack in the right. Then pull a switch on the left. Swim
into another crack on the right, and keep swimming through the small passages
until you reach a hole where you can get some air. Continue swimming and you
will reach a huge flooded hall. Climb out and pick up a pack of Flares (21). Explore this entire flooded hall to find
the following items: five boxes of Shotgun Normal Ammo
(22, 23, 24, 25, 26)
and three sets of Uzi Clips (27, 28, 29). Swim to the bottom of the hall, and behind one of the two walls, pull
a switch to open a door behind you. In this room, pull the switch on the
ceiling, collect the Shotgun Normal Ammo (30), and go back to the big hall. Here, you have to find five switches (not
including the one from the bottom of the room), three
of them are on the walls, and two of them on the ceiling. Here are the switch
locations:
The first one is where you found some Uzi clips.
The second one is on a ceiling in the alcove opposite of where you found the
Uzi clips.
The third one is on a wall in one of the large alcoves.
The fourth one is on the ceiling in one of the large alcoves.
The last one is on a wall closer to the bottom of the pool.
After all of the switches are pulled, the other door at the bottom of
the pool will open, so go there. Look in the two very small passages on both
sides of the snowy slope to find some Crossbow Poison Bolts
(31) and a Large Medipack (32). Go back to the big hall and grab some air. Go back into this room, and
swim left. Get past the circle blades, then go into
either passage. Get past the moving block, then swim upwards and take some
damage from the spikes. Emerge in a big room with a glass ceiling. Climb out
from the water and soon you will be attacked by two Wasps
(5, 6). Kill them and go to the North. Climb up
to the alcove on the right and push the button. Spikes will pop out, so get out
and the floor will rise like an elevator. Climb up into the next room. The
doors will open. Prepare your shotgun and enter. An Ahmet
(7) will attack. Kill him, and take the Strange Liquid Canister (33) from the skeleton.
Combine the strange liquid canister with the valve pipe to get the Strange Liquid Feeder (34). A door in this room
will open which lets you go back to the beginning of the level. Go to the
motorbike and install the strange liquid feeder to the motorbike.
Get on the motorbike, and drive it into the cave where you killed the
first ahmet. Use the slope on the right to make your way into a cave with a
slope and lava. Drive onto the slope and jump to the other side, using the
boost from the feeder. Drive through the tunnel until you go around a brown
pillar. From here, face the slope and make a turbo jump. When you reach the
second slope, slow down and carefully turn right at the top of the slope. Drive
through the route to the blue temple. You won’t need the bike anymore, so dismount. Get onto the slope on the right, then grab the monkey swing above. Make your way to the other
side. Climb up onto either platform, then turn around, and climb up to the
higher platform. Go across the bridge and push the button at the end to open a
door where you left the motorbike. Go there, and crawl through the passage.
Here, jump to the end of the passage avoiding the spikes. Before going down the
slope, remember that the marked tiles are explosive, so this makes it very
tricky to get down there. The best way to do this is to stand at the far left
or right of the platform before the slope, jump into the slope passage and you
will land on a slope. From there try to jump to the slope on the left or right.
If successful, try jumping to the last safe slope, and just slide down without
jumping into the water.
As you fall into the water, avoid the spinning mechanism at the bottom.
Climb out from the pool in one of the exits on in the ceiling closest to the
walls. Run through the passage to an area with a pool. Three Wasps (8, 9, 10) will attack, so take them out with the
shotgun. Once they are dead, jump into the water, under the platform from where
the wasps came. Go to the passage on the right and swim into either passage at
the intersection, since they lead to the same place. Climb out in this room and
go North. Grab the crack by the middle. Shimmy all the way to the left to the
place where the wasps came out. Go towards the slope close to the right wall.
Climb up into the next room. Look in the West for a pillar with climbable
bricks. Climb up, and shimmy around the left corner, climb near to the top,
then backflip, spin in midair, and grab the jumpswitch. Fall into the water,
and then make your way back to this room. Climb the pillar on the West side
without climbing around the corner, and backflip near the top, spin in midair,
and land on the platform. Two Wasps (11, 12)
will attack, so dispose of them with the shotgun. Make a curved jump to the
platform on the left.
From here, make a jump to the next platform on the left. From there,
jump onto the slope, slide, and jump onto the next platform, then get into the
crawlspace. Crawl to the end and stand up. Make a jump towards the rope. Swing
to the other side, and walk to the closed doors to finish the level.
LEVEL 8: THE GLEAMING RAVINE
There are no secrets to find in this level.
Walk down the stairs and go right. A group of Star
Locusts (1) attacks. You can’t kill them, so run
around until they decide to go away. In the pool room, go to the passage on the
left. In the cave, two Ahmets (2, 3)
attack, so dispose of them with the shotgun. In the cave where the ahmets came
out, look for a pool of sparkling water, like the water in the first pool room.
Dive in, and swim into the small space. Swim up, and climb out from the water.
Go through the small passage into a large pool. Dive in, and climb out from the
pool on a sloping ledge. From here, side step all the way to the left, and make
a running jump to the next ledge. From there, jump to the next room. Go to the
right and find a Small Medipack (1).
Now step onto the icy tile. It will start to crumble, so jump to the next tile.
Jump to the tile on the right, then go right, and jump to the slope on the left
in the wall. Slide onto another collapsible tile, then make a jump to the tile
on the left, then climb up into the crawlspace before the tile collapses. Climb
out on the left side, and land on another collapsible tile. Go left.
Jump to the next platform. From there, to the room with spikes. The
floor here is slippery, so Lara will slide. The best way to get across is to
time a jump to the far right of the floor. If done correctly, Lara will slide
on the floor, and the spikes will pop out before Lara reaches the tile where
the spikes pop out, so you will take minimal damage, and at the end, jump and
grab the ledge. Pull up and enter the next passage. Go up the slope and a
boulder will start rolling. Go to the space on the right to avoid it. After the
boulder passes, jump over the hole, and up the slope. In the next room. Grab
the ladder above you and make your way to the end of the ladder. On the next
platform, make a jump towards the ladder on the wall. Shimmy to the right, and
around the corner. Backflip and twist in mid-air. Grab the next ladder, shimmy
left, then backflip and twist, and grab the other ladder. Again shimmy left and
backflip and twist in mid-air. You will land on a slope. Jump to the next
platform.
Grab the ladder above you. Carefully make your way across to an alcove.
Cross the icy floor and an Imp (4)
appears in the spiral. Kill him. Go to the room on the left and activate the
switch to open the door on the other side of the ravine. Grab the ladder and
make your way to the other side. Crawl under the flames. A block in front of
you will start moving, so avoid it. Again crawl under the flames. At the end,
you will reach a room with a spiral. On the right, push the button to open the
closed door behind you. By doing this, you will also let out an Imp (5). Kill him and go into the room from where
he came out. Pry out the Gleaming Crystal A (2) from the wall. Get out of this room and jump into the water. Swim to
the South. On the right is an alcove that you can’t see from here. Swim in
there and pull the switch to open a door somewhere. Continue swimming South and
climb out of the water on an icy ledge. Go to the structure on the left. From
there, you can make a jump to a ledge that lets you get on top of the
structure. Over here, there are entrances on the left and straight ahead of
you. First go left to a room with burning rocks and moving blocks.
Go through the bridge all the way until you can’t anymore. From here,
jump to the platform on the right. Take the Shotgun
Normal Ammo (3) from the right alcove. Now go into the
other alcove and pull the switch to open a door that has a key. Getting there
requires some timing, because you need to do a running jump, and the blocks can
kill you when Lara’s back touches them. When you achieve the jump, go to the
alcove with the key and take the Mystical Key (4). Don’t forget to take the ]Shotgun Wideshot Ammo
(5) from the other alcove. Now go into the other room we
ignored earlier. Jump to the tile on the left, then the next tile ahead of you.
Make your way to the keyhole using the tiles and avoiding the spinning
mechanism. Place your key in the keyhole to lower a block that was hiding a
button in the previous room. Go there and push the button. This opens a door
underwater, so go there and pull the switch to open a door back up on the upper
level. Go there and climb the ladder. Drop at the ledge at the top. Jump across
the structure roofs, and then go left. Pry out the Gleaming
Crystal B (6) from the wall. Jump back into the water.
Climb out of the water using that icy ledge again, and jump to the
structure on the far right. From here, jump into the new blue hall. In the next
room, find a blue button on the right, and push it to raise the tile in the
middle. Climb up onto the tile, and climb the ladder. You will be introduced to
a large ravine by a fly-by with the title music. Once the fly-by is over, jump
to the ledge on the left. Go up the slope and take the Shotgun
Normal Ammo (7) and the Shotgun
Wideshot Ammo (8). A Wraith
(6) will come to attack you. First, pry the Gleaming Crystal D (9) from the wall. Now you have no choice but
to dive into the water at the bottom of the ravine to exterminate the wraith.
Use the ledges on the North in the place where there are “ladder” textured
pillars. On a ledge on the left, climb out, slide, and grab the ledge again.
Shimmy to the left and climb up onto a non-sliding surface, and spot a
jumpswitch behind you. Go pull that jumpswitch. Fall into the water, and climb
out on the West side. Investigate to the right to find a ladder. Climb up.
There is a slope that you can climb up on straight ahead of you. Climb up,
slide, and jump to the next ledge. There is another ledge on the left, so make
a curved jump there. Jump to the ledge straight ahead of you, and then jump to
the slope, and slide a short distance. There are some spots on the right slope
that you can stand on. Make your way to the ice ladder, and climb up. Climb up
to the tower on the left, and go down.
Follow the passage into a room with blue and orange tiles. The orange
tiles will explode if you stand on them and kill you. The first blue tile is on
the left, so jump to that one. Make your way to the jumpswitch, then return to
the ravine. Jump to the ledge where you were attacked by the wraith, and from
there jump to where the two crystal pyramids are. Make a jump to the switch and
activate it. Jump back into the water and climb back to the top of the ravine.
Head to the tower that is in the opposite direction by jumping to that ledge
where the wraith was, and make a running jump to that tower. It is kind of
difficult, but you should make it. When you get there, climb down into the hole
and push the button. Climb back up, and make your way to the tower that you
entered this area. Climb down not into the hole, but into the lower area near
that tower. Go to the small room with sloped ceiling, and grab the edge of the
ledge facing the crystal pyramids. Locate the jumpswitch, and pull it. Fall
into the water, and start climbing back up again. Once again make a jump to the
platform where the wraith was, and make a jump to the last tower. Climb down
and push the button. Now make a jump into the water, and climb out on the West
again. Climb the ladder, but instead of climbing again to the top, go to the
right, and pry the Gleaming Crystal C (10) from the wall. Activate the switch to see an imp activate a switch,
which will open a door above you. So make your way back to the top of the
ravine, go to the platform with crystal pyramids, and enter the new room. Place
your four Gleaming Crystals in the receptables to open a new passage in the
West wall. Slide down the slope to finish the level.
LEVEL 9: FELAVORU
There are two secrets to find in this level.
Now you’re on the last level of the whole adventure. Slide down and look
left to find a box of Shotgun Normal Ammo (1). Climb up to the blue wall and there you will find a box of Shotgun Wideshot Ammo (2). Go to the bridge
that you walked on when you entered the level by going to the ledge where you
found the shotgun normal ammo, and make a running jump to that bridge. Climb
up, and go left. Make a running jump to the bridge above you. Go left and
activate the jumpswitch to open the door behind you. Go inside and climb up to
the right. Time a running jump to the ladder and be mindful of the moving
block. When you get onto the ladder, climb up, and pull the lever to raise a
timed trapdoor behind you by the flaming floor. Jump to the alcove before the
trapdoor opens and you fall to your doom. In the next room, investigate to the
right, and cross the spikes and pull the lever. Before you can get to the
lever, sharp rocks fall from above, so walk to the right of the rocks and get
to the switch. Pull it, and go past the pool of water. Go left. Light a flare
to see more sharp rocks. Have them all fall down, then run across the
collapsible floor and to the other side.
Cross to the alcove on the left wall by avoiding the spinning mechanism,
and using the blue tiles to make your way there. The orange tiles kill Lara. In
the next room, step on the green tile to open the door. The white tile drops a
spike ball and the orange tile kills Lara. Step into the mirror room. Here, the
goal is to use the mirror to make your way to the five green tiles to open the
door on the other side. To get past spike balls, crawl under them. When the
door on the other side opens, step inside the cave and kill the two Star Harpies (1, 2) that attack. Look on the left wall for a
jumpswitch to open the door that will let you go to the next room. In there,
step onto the edge of the hole in the center. Tiny Star
Scarabs (3) pour out of the hole into the water.
Anyway, jump into the water, swim through the passage, and before entering the
room with submerged stairs, swim up into an alcove with a ladder. Climb the
ladder a little bit and backflip. Pick up the Fire
Crescent Circle (3). Jump back into the water, and swim to
the room with submerged stairs.
Climb out, and place the circle you acquired on one of the stands. The
boulder will start rolling, so jump out of the way. Also, the scarabs can be
here nibbling at you, so watch your health. Go up to one of the slopes with the
boulders and climb up to the higher ledge. Go to where a slope is coming out of
the wall. Go jump on the slope and jump to the higher level. Activate the
switch to open the door to Secret 1,
three stashes of Uzi Clips (4, 5, 6)
and two boxes of Shotgun Normal Ammo (7, 8). Go back down, and jump into the water. Look for a ceiling switch that
is in the room where you are. Activate it and climb out of the water. Grab the
rope and swing to a switch on the South wall. Pull it to lower a tile directly
below you. Go there and take the second Fire
Crescent Circle (9). Place it on the second stand and dodge
the boulder. The flame in the room will deactivate, so you can pick up theDragon Claw (10). Go into the next room, place your dragon
claw on the thing where another dragon claw is placed, and Lara will read the
inscriptions on the right.
“Felavoru, the den of the Navian,
The sons of fire.
Dare to enter, or prepare to die.”
The glistening ice will reveal a new passage. Go there, and jump into
the water. Look under the bridge for a ceiling switch and activate it. Climb
out of the water and continue down the passage. The door will close behind you
once you enter the cave. Look to the right for a black ledge you can climb up
on. Go in the East direction, and jump into the passage under the ashes, and a
swarm of Star Locusts (4)
attack. On a higher ledge, you can find a Small
Medipack (11) in a corner. Now go below where you are,
and swim into the tunnel, turn left and follow the small passage until you will
be in a new cave. Go to the East and climb out of the water. Climb up right,
and go right. Jump to the slope on the left, and shimmy to the right to the
other side. Follow the passage and jump over the hole into the Felavoru, where
you are introduced to the area with a fly-by. Climb down from the high ledge.
An Ice Dragon (5)
lurks in the lava, so dispose of him with the shotgun. (This is why the author
supplied lots of shotgun shells in this part.) Go to the structure on the West,
and find a ladder on the South. Climb up, and activate the switch. Two more Ice Dragons (6, 7) will be in the lava, so dispose of them.
Now go to the North. Pick up the Large Medipack (12) from one of the entrances. Now go to the left entrance.
Jump on the floating platform. Now jump towards the two icy ladders. In
here, take the Small Medipack (13)
from in between the ladders. Now climb one of the ladders. At the very top of
the structure, make a running jump to the next floating platforms. Grab the
rope and swing to the other side. Take the Fire
Crescent Circle (14). From here, make a jump to a platform
with a box of Shotgun Normal Ammo (15). Look to the right for another box of Shotgun
Normal Ammo (16). You have to go back to the icy ladders
and get to the rope again. Swing left this time and go pull the jumpswitch.
Once again return to the rope and swing right. Place your fire crescent circle
on the stand to open a door back in the felavoru. Before going back there, jump
onto the floating platform and look left. Spot the box of Shotgun Normal Ammo (17). Jump over there, and take it. Go back to
the felavoru and climb the ladder that the door blocked. At the top, go left,
and go North. Use the ladder on the ceiling to monkey swing to the other side.
At the ledge, make a curved jump to the ledge on the right. From here, make
another jump to another ledge on the right. Pull the switch behind you to
release a rope into this room. Before going back, go into the small space under
the rock. Grab the ledge and shimmy left. At the end, drop, and grab the next
crack. Shimmy left to the crawlspace and get in. This is Secret 2. Take the Crossbow
Explosive Bolts (18), two Large
Medipacks (19, 20), two boxes of Shotgun
Normal Ammo (21, 22), two boxes of Shotgun
Wideshot Ammo (23, 24), and a Small
Medipack (25). Make sure that your health is full, and
back out of the crawlspace, and climb out. Shimmy to the blue crack, then drop
onto the slope. Hopefully Lara will slide forwards so it’s easier to jump to
the safe ledge. Return to the ladder.
Climb the ladder again. On the South side, is a platform that you can
climb up onto. Use the ledge with the ashes (don’t step on them, or Lara will
die) to make a running jump towards the rope. Swing to the next rope, and from
there to the other side. Jump onto the rocky ledge on the right. Go to the
right of the ledge and jump behind the pillar. The door on the East side opens,
so go there by using the monkey swing that is in the area beneath the rocky
ledge. In the new room activate the switch to see the door open on the other
side of the ropes. Go there and enter either passage. Go down the stairs and
across the water. Pick up the Marvatuyk (26)
from the stand to open the door in front of you. Follow the passage and slide
down a slope. You will see some lava rise, but don’t panic. Go up, and try to
make a running jump to the alcove on the right. Grab the webbed ceiling and
monkey swing above the spikes to the slope at the end. Slide and jump to a safe
tile. From here, jump to the ledge straight ahead of you. Slide down and grab
the ledge ahead of you. Shimmy left and around the two corners to the slope.
Enter the new passage and watch as the lava rises. Make a jump to the West
side. In the new room, the lava will rise again, but don’t panic. Go to the
sloping tile on the right and make a running jump to the other side.
Go to the left, and jump over the lava. In this chamber, you will be
attacked by a swarm of Star Locusts (8).
You will also see a small medipack to your left, but don’t pick it up, because
the ceiling will crush you if you do. Run all the way to the passage on the
South. On your way, be careful of the lighter colored ceilings, because they
will lower at you if you stand directly under them. In the water, swim to the
low passage and activate the ceiling switch. Climb out of the water and go
right. Cross the circle blades, and take the Fire
Crescent Circle (27) in the hole, and place it at the stand to
open the other closed door in this room. Cross the circle blades again and go
there. Cross the collapsible floor tiles and jump over the flames to the other
side. Cross the moving block and pull the lever to open the door on the right.
Go there and slide down. Jump into the water and swim to the other side. Climb
up the ladder, and go up the slope, then watch the cutscene as Lara escapes
from the volcano, and as the great series comes to an end.
