This walkthrough is meant as a general guide only. It
may not include every pickup or secret. There may also be alternative ways of
approaching situations within the game. The compass needle used to indicate
direction in this walkthrough is the light blue needle.
The
level begins with Lara (cool costume, esp. the boots) standing inside a
building with waterfalls on the exterior. Approach the door and shoot the samurai outside Exit the building and shoot the large bird. Head down the ramp and pickup the small medipack left behind by the samurai. Go back up
the ramp, head around the perimeter of the building and shoot two fish in the water. Notice there are seven other
buildings in the area. Head to the building in the south/east corner. Push the
switch that is in the water, on the side of the stairs. Turn around, turn
right, climb the block and enter the newly opened gate.
Turn
left, face the west wall and beside the door, jump up and grab the switch on
the wall above. Sideflip to the right, turn right and exit the door. Watch a
cutscene and arm weapons. Shoot the large spider and
two baby spiders. Go forward to the room at the back and shoot another two baby spiders. Go to the column with the sunlight streaming
and pull the switch at the back which moves a block in another room. Turn left
and go back into the previous room. Turn left again and enter the alcove on the
right. Pickup the Golden key, reverse roll and
place it into the lock on the right. Turn right and enter the newly opened
door. Go to the end, turn right and take a standing jump and grab the ladder.
Climb to the top and pull the switch. Climb down, reverse roll and enter the
alcove. Pickup the Mystic book and watch a
cutscene of a block lowering somewhere underwater. Reverse roll and exit. Turn
right and exit the corridor. Turn left and enter the room with the sunlit
column. Go down the ramp at the end and crawl to enter the basement. Pickup the
small medipack in the right hand corner. Turn left
and head to the hole in the ceiling. With Lara's back to the wall, take a
standing jump and grab the ladder on the inside of the hole. Climb part way and
backflip into an alcove. Turn around and pickup the Shotgun.
Drop down, exit the building and head back outside.
Drop
into the water and head to the building in the south/west corner. Dive into the
ramp underwater and pickup the Rusty key.
Surface and go to the waterfall building in the center. On the block to the
right of the ramp there is a lock. Use the Rusty key in the lock and watch a
cutscene of a door opening. Turn around and head to the building in the
north/west corner. Climb the block and enter the building. Turn left and climb
into crawlspace in the wall above. Follow the corridor around and pull a switch
at the end. Watch another cutscene of another door opening. Reverse roll, exit
the crawlspace and exit the building. Back outside, turn left and drop into the
water. Enter the building in the north/east corner.
Turn
left and drop into the water hole. Swim left and left again. Swim into the
first alcove on the left, enter the crawlspace on the left and pull the
underwater lever. Reverse roll and exit. Turn right, swim to the wall and into
the newly opened door on the left. Pull the underwater lever, reverse roll,
swim right and exit. Swim forward and to the right to return to the beginning
for air. Swim back into the room, turning left and left again. This time, swim
into the window on the right and through to the end of the corridor and
surface. Pull up and pull the switch at the top of the stairs. Watch a cutscene
of an entire wall receding in the previous room. Reverse roll, drop back into
the water and exit the corridor. Swim left, then right and exit the water.
Enter the newly opened alcove on the left.
Enter
the room and head up the ramp at the end. Dive into the water and pull all four
underwater levers. Surface for air and dive back into the middle where the
crawlspace is now open. Surface at the end and pull up. Pickup the small medipack at the back in the left hand corner.
Reverse roll, head back down the corridor, turn left and take a standing jump
over the small table and lantern. Crawl into the crawlspace and pickup another Golden key. Exit the crawlspace and jump into the
rushing water ramp on the right. Swim into the alcove on the right and surface.
Pull up into a room with 3 switches. Two have skeletons under them. Push the
switch on the right. A cutscene shows the panel in the previous room opening.
Reverse roll and head back into the water. Pull out of the water ramp and drop
back into the water hole ahead. Swim through the corridor back to pool with the
4 underwater switches. Pull out of the water and exit the room. Follow the
corridor and enter the newly opened alcove on the right. Pickup the Crowbar and watch a cutscene of another door opening
outside. Exit the alcove and the building and head back outside.
Secret #1: Head to the tree near the north wall. Go to the back of the
tree and climb the ladder on the tree. At the top, quickly let go and grab the
bottom edge of the crawlspace. Before Lara can position her feet back onto the
ladder, quickly pull into the crawlspace and pickup the Golden Rose which is
Secret #1. Exit the crawlspace and climb back down the ladder.
Drop
into the water and go to the building in the middle of the south wall. Enter
the building, make a hairpin turn left and pull the jump switch high up on the
wall. Watch a cutscene of another door opening. Exit the building, turn left
and enter the building in the south/west corner.
Drop
into the water, swim through the corridor and surface. Pull out of the water
and make a hairpin turn right into an alcove. Jump up and grab the jump switch
above, which will give access to Secret #2 later on. Reverse roll, go through
the spiked bag, timing so as not to get hurt and turn right. Climb the block
and use the Golden Key in the lock. The trap door near the spike bag opens.
Reverse roll, drop down, turn left and drop down into the newly opened door in
the floor. Pull the lever, the floor drops away and you land in a room with a
large fish tank. Reverse roll, enter the corridor and use the crowbar to open the
wooden door. Go to the end of the corridor, turn right and use the crowbar to
open the wooden door. Pull the switch at the end, reverse roll and exit. Back
at the room with the fish tank, turn left and climb the ladder. Avoid the
spiked bag and drop into the water. Swim to the end, pull out and exit the
building.
Turn
right and drop back into the water. Turn right at the next building in the
middle of the south wall and climb the block to enter. Go through the corridor
on the right, climb the crates and push the switch on the left. Turn right,
drop down and turn left. Use the crowbar to open the crate.
Secret #2: Note: You need to have pulled the jump switch in the
south/west building in order to get this secret. Turn left and pickup the Golden Rose which is
Secret #2.
Pickup
the torch and exit the building. Turn right and enter the building in the
south/east corner. Drop the torch and turn left. Jump up and climb into the
crawlspace on the left. Crawl out the other side and shimmy to the left around
the corner until you are above the jump switch. Let go and quickly grab the
switch. A cutscene shows a fire lit in the lantern in the tree. Go back inside
the building and pickup the torch. Exit the building, turn right and head
straight to the north wall. Near the end, walk onto the first step of the
building in the north/east corner and turn left. Take a standing jump to the
tree and with the up arrow still depressed, take a running jump to the tree.
Light the torch and drop back into the water. Turn right and return to the ramp
at the waterfall pagoda.
Light
the two lanterns inside the waterfall pagoda. Go back out onto the porch, turn
left and left again around the porch. About half way down the porch, turn
right, take a running jump to the south building and light the lantern inside.
Reverse roll, drop into the water and turn right. Go to the building in the
south/east corner and light the lantern inside. Exit the building and turn
right. Climb the stairs on the east building and light the lantern inside. Exit
the building, drop into the water and return to the ramp on the waterfall
pagoda. Reverse roll and take a running jump to the west building with the
metal doors.
Before
going through the doors, drop the torch and arm weapons. Shoot the samurai in the next room. Climb the column in the
south/west corner using ctrl + up arrow (ignore alt) and pickup the Uzi ammo. Reverse roll, face east and take a running
jump to the ledge ahead. Turn left and enter the corridor ahead. Follow the
corridor around and climb the ladder at the end. Pull up and drop into the
water hole in the center of the floor. Swim until you drop into a lower pool
and swim forward. Turn left and pull the underwater switch. Climb out of the
pool from the north/west corner and head right.
Turn
right to face the lava pool and jump and grab the monkey swing above. Follow
the monkey swing around to the left and drop at the end. Reverse roll and take
a running jump to the stone walkway. Turn right, go to the end of the walkway,
turn right and take a standing jump over the lava to the ledge ahead, avoiding
the apparently dangerous spiked block in the corner. Turn left and go to the
switch at the end. This is a timed run. Pull the switch, reverse roll, dash out
of the corridor turning slightly to the right, take a running jump over the
lava towards the gate in the right hand corner and another run and jump through
the gate before it closes.
Reverse
roll, drop into the small pit and turn around. Pickup the small medipack and immediately take a standing jump
forward as two wicked looking snake boulders fall into the small pit. Reverse
roll, take a standing jump over the boulders and another standing jump over the
spike pit after that. Turn left and climb the block in the corner. Face east,
jump up and grab the monkey swing and follow it around turning left, then right
to reach the crawlspace on the other side. Let go and immediately grab the edge
of the crawlspace and shimmy to the right. Pull up and climb out the other
side. Reverse roll and pull the wall switch. Yes, it's timed. Reverse roll,
take a standing jump and grab the edge of the crawlspace and pull up. Reverse,
drop down, reverse roll, run forward and jump over the spike pit. While in the
air, turn to the right and run into the hole in the floor before the trap door
shuts. Pickup the Golden key and pull the wall
switch twice. Climb out of the hole, angle right and take a
standing jump over the spike pit. Angle right again and take a standing jump
over the snake boulders. Head back up the ramp. At the end, reverse roll and
take a standing jump and grab the ladder on the inner wall of the alcove. Pull
up and turn right. Take a running jump to the block in the corner and reverse
roll. Jump up and grab the monkey swing above, swing out of the room and drop
back down onto the ramp.
Stay
on the highest part of the ramp and turn left to face the water. Take a running
jump and grab the lower part of the lower block on the other side of the pool.
Turn left and climb the block. Turn right then angle to the right and take a
standing jump and grab the ledge above. Pull up and head to the lock. Use the
Golden key in the lock. Angle to the right and take a standing jump and grab
(to change trajectory) into the alcove. Push the switch on the left and jump
back into the water. Climb out of the pool from the north/west corner and turn
right to return to the highest part of the ramp. Turn right and take a running
jump and grab the lower part of the lower block on the other side of the pool.
Turn right and take a standing jump over the waterfall. Climb the block ahead
and turn left. Jump back and grab the edge, shimmy right until you reach the
entrance to the alcove and drop down.
Turn
right and enter the next area. Shoot the fish in
the water water and head to the other side, avoiding the spiked tiles along the
way. Climb up, turn left and head down the stairs to the end of the room.
Follow the corridor to the end to the two large waterfalls. Turn around and
pull the wall switch on the column. Reverse roll, wade across the waterfall
cavern, climb out and turn left. Take a running jump and grab to the rope. Turn
right to face north and swing and jump into the alcove. Go to the end of the
corridor to the corner on the left. Reverse roll, take a few steps forward and
jump and grab the switch above. Return to the area with the rope.
Take
a running jump and grab to the rope. Swing and jump into the alcove ahead. Drop
down the block and pull the switch, which fills the previous area with water.
Reverse roll, climb the block and drop into the water. Swim left and pull the
underwater lever on the left. Reverse roll and climb the block in the water.
Take a running jump and grab back to the rope. Face east, swing and jump into
the alcove. Drop down to the bottom level, turn left and enter the next room.
There
are three alcoves ahead and three switches. Enter each alcove and pull each
switch. Climb one of the ladders and pull up into the upper area. Head through
the large door, turn left and pickup the Rusty key
at the end of the room. Watch a cutscene revealing a door somewhere. Reverse
roll and exit this area. Climb down the ladder, reverse roll and exit via the
newly opened gate on the right. Follow the corridor around and climb the
ladder. Pull up and safety drop down the other side to return to a previous
area. Turn right, drop back into the water and swim to the right. Pull up onto
the block in the water and turn right to enter the newly opened alcove. Climb
the ladder, follow the corridor around and slide down the waterfall. Turn
right, wade through the water and climb out. Go forward, back through this
previous area and turn right at the end, back to the pool with the spike tiles.
Head through the pool, avoiding the spikes and back to the main pool with the
sloped ramp.
Drop
into the water, climb out of the pool from the north/west corner and head right
to the highest part of the ramp. Turn right and take a running jump and grab
the lower part of the lower block on the other side of the pool. Turn left and
climb the block. Turn right then angle to the right and take a standing jump
and grab the ledge above. Pull up and head back down the corridor. At the end,
angle to the right and take a standing jump and grab (to change trajectory)
into the alcove. Use the Rusty Key in the lock and go through the newly opened
gate. Head forward and to the right to enter the open door on the west wall.
Follow
the stairs and drop down into a lower room. Make a hairpin turn right and pull
the switch on the wall. Sidestep to the left and pull up into the alcove. Pull
the switch and drop back down. Climb the block on the opposite wall and grab
the crevice on the wall. Shimmy to the right, around the corner and pull up
into the alcove. Arm weapons and enter the alcove. Shoot the samurai and enter the next room. Pickup the Buddha statue and exit. Safety drop down to the
previous room and climb the ladder in the north/east corner of the room. Pull
the switch and climb back down. Turn right and exit the room the way you came.
Back outside, head forward and to the right towards the newly opened gate. Take
a standing jump over the pit and slide down the ramp at the back of the room
and the next level loads.
Enter
the next area and head forward through the archway to the back of the room.
Turn right and follow the corridor to the end. Take a standing jump and grab
the ledge above. Pull up and pickup flares and a small
medipack. Drop into the water and swim to the small ledge on the central
column. Turn to face south/east and take a running jump to the almost invisible
red ledge in the corner of the room. Walk to the east wall and sidestep to the
left as far as possible. Turn slightly the left to face north/east and sideflip
to the left into the door in the middle of the central column. Climb the block
in the middle of the room and turn around. Take a standing jump and grab the
jump switch ahead. Immediately run forward (as it is timed), drop into the
water and swim through the newly opened underwater gate. Follow the corridor
around several turns and only surface when you reach the very end. Pull up and
climb the structure with two underwater levers in the middle of the room and pickup
the Golden key on the top. Head back to the
water in the south/east corner and swim forward. Past the vegetation, swim up
and surface.
Pull
into the room, climb the block ahead and use the Golden key in the lock. Turn
right, drop down from the block, head down the corridor and turn left to face a
room with fire tiles. The mirror on the right wall tells which ones are safe.
Hug the left wall and walk until you reach the plant. Turn right and walk one
tile forward. Turn left and walk to the wall. Jump up and grab the hidden
alcove in the wall and pull up. Move forward and turn right into another
alcove. Push the button and exit the room. Drop down, turn right and left at
the wall. Exit the room. Turn right and exit the corridor. Drop back into the
water, swim forward into the newly flooded room and surface.
Secret #3 route: Turn to face east and pull up onto the ledge ahead.
Turn right facing south and take a standing jump over the slope. Turn right and
take two consecutive standing jumps over two slopes, sliding slightly when
necessary and a third jump to land in the alcove. [tip: Be sure not to slide
down the last slope as you will get stuck and have to reload.] Pull the
switch on the wall and take a running jump and jump, sliding slightly when
necessary, back over the two slopes. Turn left and take a standing jump back to
the middle of the ledge. Turn left to face west, jump up and grab the monkey
swing above. Head forward, past the vegetation and drop into the water in the
other room. Swim down and forward, enter the alcove and pickup the Golden Rose which is Secret #3.
Reverse roll, exit the alcove and surface for air. Swim down and pull the two
underwater levers on the walls. Swim to the platform in the south/west corner
and pull up. Turn to face north/east towards the small alcove until the camera
angle changes. Take a running jump and grab to the alcove and pull up. Drop
back into the water in the room below and surface. [Note: See Main Route.]
Without
Secret #3 route:Turn
to face east and pull up onto the ledge. Reverse roll to face west, jump up and
grab the monkey swing above. Head forward, past the vegetation and drop into
the water in the other room. Swim down and pull the two underwater levers on
the walls. Swim to the platform in the south/west corner and pull up. Turn to
face north/east towards the small alcove until the camera angle changes. Take a
running jump and grab to the alcove and pull up. Drop back into the water in
the room below and surface. [Note: See Main Route.]
Swim
down and pull the two underwater levers on the structure below. Swim north
through one of the underwater corridors and reverse roll before you get to the
diamond shaped wall. Pull the underwater switch on the south wall. Reverse
roll, swim through the diamond shaped hole in the wall and swim upward to
surface. Pull out, head up the ramp and turn right to enter the next area.
Climb
the platform at the end of the room and pull up. Turn right and enter a reddish
cavern. Take a running jump and grab (to change trajectory) to the ledge ahead.
Secret #4: Angle left and take a running jump and grab the well hidden
alcove in the wall. Pull up and follow the corridor around the right. Pickup
the Golden
Rose which is Secret #4 and exit the alcove. Take a running jump
and grab (to change trajectory) back to the ledge.
Turn
around to face south and safety drop down to the structure below. Reverse roll
and pickup the Winding Key. Take a backflip to
the slope behind you, slide and grab the jump switch. Drop to the floor below
and head straight through the newly opened gate.
In
the next corridor there are black and white explosive tiles. Beginning from the
brown stone tile on the right, angle left to face north/west and take a
standing jump in between the tiles to land on another brown tile. Sideflip to
the right to land on another brown tile and take a final standing jump between
tiles. Head to the end of the corridor and turn left. There is a pushable
object in the middle of the room that needs to be moved to the level below.
Begin by going past the pushable object and climbing into the hole in the west
wall. Follow the stairs down to a switch. Pull the switch and return to the
pushable object. Push it into the north room, onto the green tile by the east
wall and return to the switch. Pull the switch again and return to the north
room. Jump and grab the ladder on the north wall and climb down to the lower
level. Turn right and climb the block. Go behind the object, face west and push
it onto the other block. Jump up and grab the edge of the upper floor above,
pull up and return back to the corridor with the switch. Pull the switch again
and return to the lower level. Push/pull the object out of the room and onto
the middle square in the outer lava room. Climb into the crawlspace on the west
wall and follow the corridor around to the left. Stand up and climb the block
ahead. Turn right and climb the block. Turn left and climb into the next area.
Arm
weapons and shoot the samurai on the left. Drop
into the shallow pool in the middle of the room and open the very well hidden
trap door. Pickup the Mechanical Scarab and
pull up out of the water. Head into the west alcove, climb out of the pool and
turn right. Climb the block and open the doors at then end of the room ahead.
Pull the pushable object by the west wall and pickup the Music Scroll that was underneath it. Exit the area,
drop down, head through the pool and back into the main room. Head straight to
the east alcove and place the Music Scroll on the pedestal on the left. Watch
the cutscene. Exit the room, turn left into the south alcove and through the
newly opened metal doors. Climb the block and pickup the Ruby Cube. Drop down and head through the gate back
into the "reddish" cavern. Turn left and grab the ladder on the
column. Climb around the column then straight up. Pull up onto the top ledge
and head forward. Turn left at the end, climb down the stairs and turn left
down the ramp. At the end, place the Ruby Cube into the receptacle on the left.
Go through the newly opened gate into the next area as the level loads.
Run
forward and watch a cutscene of the area. Follow the ledge left or right and
head to the door at the end behind the pool. Arm weapons and shoot the samurai. Enter the room and head to the corridor at
the back. Jump up and grab the monkey swing. When the flames subside, swing
forward and left to the slope. Drop and backflip off the slope to the one
behind. Jump forward and while in the air, turn right. Continue to jump back
and forth, angling to the right until you reach the room on the right. Head to
the east wall and through the corridor into another area. Head to the very back
of the area, past the wooden fence. Pull the switch on the wall and go through
the newly opened gate. Pickup the Waterskin in
the water and while you're there, fill it with water. Reverse roll and head to
the room on the opposite side with the pedestal on fire. Approach the right
side of the pedestal and angle to face south/east and use the waterskin to
extinguish the fire. Pickup the Golden key and
watch a cutscene as a structure raises in the pool and a skeleton is awakened.
Exit the room and turn left. Run to the structure and jump to the first block
ahead. The skeleton will not climb the structure. Turn right and climb the
structure to the top. Head down the south corridor and climb the ladder at the
end. At the end of the corridor, walk to the middle of the tightrope (about 8
steps) and take a standing jump to the column ahead. [tip: To help traverse
the rope... after you press action to get onto the rope, Lara will move
slightly back and forth to balance. In the middle of that "moving"
and only when her body is straight, press the "up arrow" once and she
will take 4 steps. After the 4 steps, wait until she moves back and forth and
when her body is straight again, press the "up arrow" once and she
will take another 4 steps.] Pickup the Ocular Part
2 piece on the pedestal and another cutscene shows the cage lowering to
give access to the chain below. Safety drop down into the pool below and climb
the centre block with the chain. Pull the chain once to open the two gates.
Secret #5: Enter the east room and follow the corridor on the left. Pickup the Golden Rose which is
Secret #5 and exit the room.
Enter
the west room and take a running jump to the partially submerged block in the
middle of the lava. Take a standing jump and grab the alcove ahead and pull up.
Drop into the room ahead and climb into the alcove on the west wall. Shoot the
blue statue, releasing a wraith. Reverse roll
and drop back into the previous room. Turn left and drop down into a lower
area. Reverse roll, run forward and drop into the water hole ahead. Wait until
the wraith extinguishes itself and pull out of the water. Climb one of the
blocks in the corner and take a standing jump and grab to pull out. Drop into
the water and swim into the underwater room. Pull the two underwater levers and
pickup the Ocular Part 1 in the alcove between
the two levers. Exit the alcove and pull up out of the water. Climb back into
the south corridor. At the end, take a standing jump to the semi-submerged
block in the lava. Take a running jump and grab (to change trajectory) to the
door and turn right. Exit via the south corridor and the level loads.
Exit
the corridor and head to the small stand on the east wall. Combine the two
Ocular pieces and place the Smaragd Ocular on the stand. Turn right, head up
the ramp and turn left to enter the next area. Run through the waterfall into
the corridor with the Scarab symbol on the floor. Combine the Winding Key and
the Mechanical Scarab and use it on the scarab symbol. Watch as the scarab
deactivates the spikes and head forward. Pickup the Mechanical Scarab with Key
and enter the next room. Drop into the water on the right and swim forward as
the next level loads.
Surface
in the next room and swim to the ledge on the central column. Turn to face
south/east and take a running jump to the red ledge in the corner. Walk to the
east wall and sidestep to the left as far as possible. Turn slightly to the
left to face north/east and sideflip left into the door in the middle of the
central column. Climb the block in the middle of the room and use the Golden
key in the lock. Turn left and drop down. Turn left again and take a running
jump and grab (to change trajectory) into the newly opened corridor.
Walk
to the end of the corridor and angle right. Take a standing jump and grab the
slope. Pull up and slide down to the flat surface at the bottom. Turn right and
take a running jump and grab the ladder. Climb to the top and pull the switch.
Climb back down and take a backflip off the ladder back to the flat area. Turn
left to face the wall and do a backflip to the slope behind. Jump off the slope
and grab the edge of the door in the wall and pull up. Follow the corridor
around, through the pool and climb into the west corridor. Use the Mechanical
Scarab with Key on the scarab symbol on the floor and watch as it deactivates
the explosive tiles ahead. Walk to the end of the corridor, pickup the scarab
and pull the wall switch. Reverse roll, exit the corridor and climb into the
newly opened door on the right. Head to the hole in the floor ahead and drop
into the water below. Pull out and head to the door in the north room. Run
through the hot tiles (they do no damage) and pickup the Prayer Wheel releasing a wraith.
Immediately reverse roll and exit the room. Drop into the water and wait until
the wraith extinguishes itself. Pull up onto the west ledge and enter the room.
Climb the block and place the Prayer roll into the receptacle and watch a
cutscene as the water turns to fire and explodes. Reverse roll and exit the
room. Turn right and enter the south corridor. At the waterfall, jump up and
grab the ledge above. Pull up and climb the block ahead. Pickup the small medipack on the pedestal releasing another wraith. Immediately reverse roll and drop down. Exit
the room and run to the east corridor on the right. Take a running jump to the
block on the right and pickup the Uzis on the
pedestal releasing another wraith. Immediately
reverse roll, exit the room and drop into the hole in the middle. Turn left and
slide down the slope as the next level loads.
After
the slide down, drop into the water and pull an underwater switch on the
underside of the walkway above. Swim into the newly opened door in the
north/west corner and surface at the end. Pull up and open the sarcophagus in
the room and pickup the Bronze Skull inside.
Reverse roll, drop back into the water and swim out. Climb back onto the
walkway, climb into the west entrance and turn right. Enter the east door and
climb the block. Reverse roll and take a running jump and grab the jump switch
on the wall. This is a timed run. Immediately turn right and exit the room.
Make a sharp turn left, jump over the fallen column and turn right into the
opened gate before it closes. Immediately arm weapons and shoot the samurai. Climb through the door into the next area.
Head forward and turn right into the alcove at the end. Turn to face east and
jump up and grab the switch above. Exit, face east and enter the next alcove on
the left. Reverse roll and while facing south, jump and grab the ladder on the
inner wall of the alcove. Climb to the top and pull up. Reverse roll, jump back
and grab the edge of the ledge. Shimmy to the left, around the corner and pull
up into the corridor. Follow the corridor around and stop when you reach the
door. The camera angle changes when you enter the next area. Run forward to the
wall, sidestep to the right and jump and grab a crevice in the wall. Shimmy to
the right across a large pit of spikes and drop down at the end. Reverse roll
to face west and head to the end of the opposite wall. Turn right to face north
and drop off the ledge. There is a block below and a switch on the wall. Pull
the switch and climb back out to the ledge. Turn left and climb into the door
in the south wall. Follow the stairway down and drop into the next room at the
end. Head forward into the next room and climb the block in the corner. Turn
left, facing north climb up the block. Head forward and drop down into the
water below. Pull up onto the walkway and climb the entrance in the west wall
and turn right. Head to the open gate on the left hand side and enter the next
room. Head around the tree in the middle of the room and climb the block in the
north/east corner. Follow the corridor and safety drop down through the opening
on the left. Reverse roll and turn right to enter the next area.
Take
a standing jump in between the spiked tiles on the right and walk to the stone
statue in between the two slopes. Facing north with the statue in front of you,
do a backflip to the slope behind. Jump off the slope and grab the ladder on
the flaming column. Climb the ladder to the middle block and take a backflip
off to land on the ledge behind. Turn left to face west and take a running jump
to the ledge with a red button. Push the button, reverse roll and take a
running jump back to the previous ledge. Take a running jump and grab the
ladder and climb down to the floor. Turn right to face the pool and drop into
the water hole to the right of the pool. Swim through the corridor and pull the
underwater lever at the end which opens an entrance in the east wall. Reverse
roll and exit. Head east through the newly opened corridor and locate a well
hidden trap door in the floor. Open the door, drop in, turn right and crawl
into the crawlspace.
Follow
the corridor around and out to a wooden floor area. Turn left into the corridor
and left again to an area with several lanterns. Go to the right and open the
sarcophagus by the window. Pickup a small medipack and
Shotgun ammo. Reverse roll and head right. At the columns, turn left and
jump up and grab the jump switch in the alcove. Reverse roll, turn left and
head in between the two columns. Turn left again and climb the block in the
room ahead. Turn around and pull up onto the ledge above. Go forward into the
corridor above and push the switch on the right. Go back down the corridor and
drop down to the block. Turn around, drop down to the wooden floor and head
back into the previous room. Climb the newly raised block straight ahead and
turn right. Angle right and take a standing jump and grab the ledge ahead. Pull
up, reverse roll and take a running jump and grab the south ledge ahead. Pull
up, head forward and turn left at the lantern. Behind the fence, push the block
in the middle of the east wall as far as it will go.
Secret #6: Turn left and push the second block as far as it will go. Head around
to the other side of the block and pull once revealing an alcove on the other
side. Head to the other side of the block and pickup the Golden Rose which is
Secret #6 and exit this room.
Press
the switch on the south wall, reverse roll and exit the room. Turn right and
jump up and grab the newly raised cage. Pull up, turn left and take a running
jump to the window ledge. Turn left and pull the switch. Watch a cutscene of
another cage being raised. Turn left and take a running jump back to the cage.
Drop down, head through the north corridor and take a running jump to the ledge
ahead. Take a standing jump to a second ledge ahead. Climb the sloped block and
slide down to the top of the raised cage. Take a standing jump over the next
slope and jump and grab the ladder ahead. Climb to the top, turn around and
drop back onto the slope below. Slide down, grab the jump switch at the bottom
of the slope and drop to the floor. Head forward to the end between the two
columns and turn left. Enter the newly opened alcove on the right and open the
sarcophagus to pickup the Revolver and Lasersight.
Reverse roll, exit the alcove and turn left. Climb the block in the room ahead
and turn right. Angle right and take a standing jump and grab the ledge ahead.
Pull up and take a standing jump to the ledge ahead. Climb the sloped block and
slide down to the top of the raised cage. Take a standing jump over the next
slope and jump and grab the ladder ahead. Climb to the top and walk to the edge
of the opening. Jump up and grab the monkey swing and swing forward across the
atrium into the alcove on the other side.
Follow
the stairs down into the next room and head around the blue sphere. Watch as a
cutscene shows the location of a Ruby Cube in the area. Turn left, head through
the corridor and turn left at the end. Go down the stairs with running lava and
turn right. Climb the ladder on the south wall and backflip onto the ledge
behind. Turn around and head forward into the north room. Drop through the
opening in the floor in the north/east corner of the room and pickup the Ruby Cube on the pedestal ahead. Reverse roll and
jump up and grab the opening in the south/west corner and pull up. Exit and
head back through the south corridor and take a standing jump and grab back to
the ladder. Climb back down and turn left. Head forward, turn right and climb
the other ladder on the south wall. Backflip off the ladder onto the ledge
behind. Turn around and sidestep as far to the left as possible. Slowly walk
into the next room as a hammer from the right falls towards you. The light
brown tiles ahead are explosive. Turn right and follow the gray tiles around.
Facing north/west take a standing jump between the two brown tiles towards the
blue sphere in the wall. Sideflip to the right and pickup the small medipack in the corner. Turn left and pull the
switch on the wall. Reverse roll, head forward and turn right to face
south/west. Take a standing jump back between two brown tiles towards the blue
sphere in the wall. Sideflip to the left and head forward. Take a standing jump
and grab back to the ladder in the south/west corner. Climb down turn right and
right again back up the stairs with the lava. Turn right at the top and through
the corridor. Turn right again into the room with the blue sphere and climb the
stairs back to the monkey swing.
Jump
up and grab the monkey swing above and climb across the atrium. Turn left and
follow the monkey swing to the end of the east wall where there is a
crawlspace. At the wall, let go and quickly grab the bottom of the crawlspace
and crawl in. Pickup the Golden Skull and crawl
backwards out of the crawlspace. Drop to the ground, reverse roll, head back
out of the atrium, making sure to avoid the spike tiles on the way and turn
left. At the end, turn right and use the Ruby Cube in the wall receptacle.
Reverse roll and climb through the newly opened gate. Follow the corridor
around, crawl into the crawlspace and climb out back into the room with the
tree. Combine the Revolver and Lasersight and shoot the pink gem in the tree
above. Enter the newly opened gate on the west wall.
Drop
into the water, enter the small opening in the south/east corner of the pool
and pickup the silver skull. Reverse roll, exit the alcove and surface. Pull up
into the opening in the west wall, follow the corridor and climb into the crawlspace
in the north/east corner of the room ahead. Stand up and immediately arm
weapons and shoot the samurai who approaches
from the left. Head around the central structure and drop into the water near
the north wall of the room. Swim through the corridor and surface. In the next
room, turn left and left again to face a small sloped block. Jump up and grab
the edge of the slope and shimmy to the left as far as possible. Pull up and
backflip to the larger sloped block behind you. Immediately grab the edge of
the block and shimmy to the right as far as possible. Pull up and backflip to
the small ledge behind. Turn around and place the Golden Skull in the stand.
Safety drop down to the floor, making sure not to land in lava. Before exiting,
pickup the Uzi ammo in the north/west corner of
the room. Drop back into the water, swim to the end and surface. Turn to face
east and pull up into the previous room. On the right is another skull stand.
Place the Silver Skull in the stand and head to the middle of the west wall and
turn around. From the high point in the floor, take a standing jump and grab
the ledge above on the centre structure. Pull up and place the Bronze Skull in
the stand and a door opens in the north/east corner. Walk to the opening and
take a standing jump and grab (to change trajectory) into the alcove. Safety
drop down, reverse roll and head into the next area.
Head
to the room with the pink sunlight and turn right. Turn left and enter the door
in the north wall. Ahead are a series of collapsible tiles over lava. Before
stepping onto the first tile, turn right and walk as far to the wall as
possible. Sidestep onto the collapsible tile and take a standing jump to the
next one. Angle left and take another standing jump. While in the air, turn
left and land onto the next tile. Turn left and take a standing jump and grab
the ladder on the column. Climb around the column and backflip to the
collapsible tile behind. Sideflip to the right and land on the ledge. Turn around
and pull the wall switch. Arm weapons, enter the opened gate on the left and
shoot the rat in the next room. Avoid the spike
tile and push the button at the end of the room. The lava in the previous area
turns to water. Reverse roll, avoid the spike tile while exiting and drop into
the water. Pickup the Golden key, swim around
the column and climb out at the block in the south/west corner. Climb into the
opening in the wall and head back out to the main hallway.
Head
to the middle of the room and drop into the pool in between the two columns.
Pickup the Revolver ammo and pull the two
underwater levers on the east and west sides of the pool. Pull out of the water
and head to the lock on the east wall. Place the Golden key in the lock and
climb into the newly opened gate in the wall on the right. Climb the block,
push the lever and exit the room. Turn left and enter the newly opened gate on
the south wall. Head to the end of the corridor, reverse roll and take a
standing jump and grab the ladder on the inner wall of the alcove. Pull up and
head to the tightrope. Traverse across the tightrope into the alcove ahead.
Pull the switch in the middle of the room raising a block in the main hallway.
Reverse roll, exit the room and drop back into the lower area.
Turn
right and climb the block in between the two sloped ledges near the east wall.
Jump up and grab one of the slopes. Pull up and backflip to the slope behind.
Jump off the slope and grab the monkey swing above. Turn to face east, swing
into the opening in the wall and let go. Angle right and take a standing jump
to the block ahead. Turn around and take a standing jump into the opening in
the west wall. Drop down to the wooden bridge and turn right. Take a standing
jump and grab the crevice in the column. Shimmy around the column to a ladder
on the other side. Climb a few rungs down and backflip into the alcove in the
wall. Turn around and pull the wall switch at the end. Reverse roll, drop out
of the alcove and slide down the slope down to the floor below. Reverse roll
and head to the newly opened gate in the south/west corner of the main hallway.
Enter
the room, reverse roll and shoot the gem above the doorway. Exit the room as
the Imprisioned Samurai is set loose. Shoot him
and pickup the Rusty key he leaves behind.
Return to the block in between the two sloped ledges near the east wall. Jump
up and grab one of the slopes. Pull up and backflip to the slope behind. Jump
off the slope and grab the monkey swing above. Turn to face east and swing into
the opening in the wall and let go. Angle right and take a standing jump to the
block ahead. Turn around and take a standing jump into the opening in the west
wall. Drop down to the wooden bridge. Head down the wooden bridge and pickup
the Uzi ammo on the pedestal and continue
forward. Use the key in the lock on the wall and the gate above opens.
Secret #7: Turn left and drop down to the ledge below. Turn to face the wall and
jump back and grab the edge of the ledge. Shimmy to the right and stop above
the crawlspace. Let go and quickly grab the lower edge of the crawlspace and
crawl into it. Pickup the Golden Rose which is Secret #7, crawl back out and drop down to the
floor. Reverse roll and return to the block in between the two sloped ledges
near the east wall. Jump up and grab one of the slopes. Pull up and backflip to
the slope behind. Jump off the slope and grab the monkey swing above. Turn to
face east and swing into the opening in the wall and let go. Angle right and
take a standing jump to the block ahead. Turn around and take a standing jump
into the opening in the west wall. Drop down to the wooden bridge and head to
the end.
Take
a standing jump into the newly opened alcove and drop down into the next room.
Drop into the pool on the left and pickup Revolver
ammo. Climb out and drop into the pool on the other side of the room.
Reverse roll, arm the Revolver with Lasersight and with Lara's back to the
wall, shoot the gem under the walkway in the water, raising the cage and
opening a door in the south wall. Climb out of the water and head to the
opening in the south wall. Take a standing jump and grab the edge of the
opening and pull up. Go to the end of the alcove, reverse roll and take a
standing jump and grab the ladder on the inner wall of the alcove. Climb to the
top, around the corner to the left and drop onto the ledge. Reverse roll,
follow the corridor to the right, and right again to the opening. Take a
standing jump to the cage and a standing jump and grab to the jump switch. Climb
into the opening in the west wall and drop into the water on the other side.
Swim through the hole at the bottom of the pool and pull out into a room at the
end of the corridor. Push the lever in the room, drop back into the water and
swim back out to the pool. Climb out at the south side of the pool and walk
across the tightrope at the end of the corridor.
Wait
for the fire from the dragon's mouth to subside and head right, around the
dragon and climb the ladder behind it. At the crawlspace, quickly let go and
crawl inside. Crawl out, reverse roll and climb the ledge. Arm the Revolver
with Lasersight and shoot the gem high up on the north wall. Safety drop back
down to the main floor and enter the newly opened alcove on the west wall. At
the end of the alcove, reverse roll and take a standing jump and grab the jump
switch on the inner wall. The switch deactivates a spike pit in an upper
alcove. Exit and climb back up the ladder, through the crawlspace and onto the
ledge above.
Angle
to the left and take a running jump into the newly opened alcove. Turn right as
Lara looks in the spike pit below. The spikes are inactive so drop down and
pickup the torch. Reverse roll and take a
standing jump out of the pit and back out to the entrance. Angle to the right,
drop the torch below and take a running jump back to the ledge. Climb back down
the ladder, head left, then right and pull the switch on the wall, lowering the
cage. Pickup the torch and light it on one of the wall torches beside the north
entrance. Turn around and throw the torch onto the lowered cage. Pull the wall
switch again to raise the torch to the upper ledge. Climb back up the ladder,
into the crawlspace and back onto the ledge. Pickup the torch and take a
running jump back into the west alcove. Take a standing jump over the spike
pit, drop down and light the rope in the center of the floor. Watch a cutscene
as the fire travels down the rope, activating a block on the left. Take a
standing jump to the newly raised block and light the torch on the wall. Turn
around, drop down and with torch in hand, take a standing jump into the newly
opened alcove on the east wall.
Follow
the corridor around and drop the torch into the west alcove on the left. Turn
around and pull the switch on the opposite wall. Reverse roll, sidestep right
or left and take a standing jump and grab to one of the ladders on the inner
wall. Pull up and pull the wall switch ahead, raising a block in the alcove
behind. Reverse roll, drop into the hole in the floor and pickup the torch. Take
a standing jump out and enter either one of the alcoves on the west wall. Take
a standing jump onto the block and light the wall torch. Exit the alcove and
with torch in hand, head to the east wall and drop back down to the floor
below. Head to the north/west corner and follow the corridor around to the
entrance to another room. Angle left and take a standing jump and grab (to
change trajectory) to the block on the left and light the wall torch. Turn
around, drop down and drop the torch and pickup the key in the middle of the
slightly raised tile at the end of the rope. [tip: You will need a torch in
order to progress in the next area. You can either take this one with you or
pick up another one which is available in the next area. I found it just as easy
to take this one along, so have written the walkthrough to include taking it
along.] Pickup the torch again and take a standing jump into the newly
opened alcove in the north wall. Follow the corridor around, drop down and toss
the torch through the crawlspace on the left. Crawl out, reverse roll and place
the Golden key in the lock at the end of the ledge. Pickup the torch and head
up the flowing water ramp.
Reverse
roll, angle right and take a standing jump to the upper ledge. [tip: If you
need the other torch, enter the alcove in the south/west corner. Avoid the fire
and exploding floor tiles and pickup the torch in the north/west corner of the
room. Light the torch on one of the fire tiles and exit back out to the flowing
water ramp.] Take a standing jump into the north entrance. Drop the torch,
arm weapons, shoot the samurai and pickup the small medipack he leaves behind. Pickup the torch and
drop into the next area to the north. Light the wall torch ahead raising a cage
behind you. Drop the torch and climb back into the opening in the south wall.
Turn around, take a standing jump and grab the cage and pull up. Climb the
block ahead and place the Buddha statue on the altar. Reverse roll, drop back
down to the cage and safety drop to the floor. Head to the opening in the north
wall and backflip to the slope behind. Jump and grab the opening and pull up
into the crawlspace.
Crawl
through and out the other end. Let go and slide briefly on the first slope.
Backflip and slide on the next slope and backflip and slide again on another.
Backflip to land on a flat surface. Turn around, arm the shotgun and head
straight to the column ahead. Turn left and wait for the Large Samurai to approach. When he turns to face you,
run directly at him and shoot two or three shots with the shotgun. After he
falls, pickup the Dragon key he leaves behind.
Use it in the lock in the north wall and climb into one of the openings. Follow
the corridor, drop down into the room below and pickup the Dragon in the middle of the room. Go through the
newly opened gate and turn right. Part way down the next corridor, turn right
into a concealed alcove. Climb the block and pull up. Angle left, take a
standing jump over the fence and pull the switch on the broken column. Exit the
alcove, turn right and head to the end of the corridor and the level ends.
