Lara’s High School Party

1 Secret

We start with Lara in her bedroom. It’s dark and there isn’t anything to find here, but note the closed curtain on the wall to your right which will open later on. Head forwards, then go left to enter the upper landing of the mail hall. Watch the cut scene of your fallen friends scattered about in the lower hall. The cut-scene will also give you some hints, so take notes for later on.

Extinguish The Fire In The Library

Head south until you come to a white statue, and then find the climbable wall behind it and make your way left until you can climb off onto the window ledge. Now use the button on the wall to extinguish the fire in the library.

What's Behind The Curtain?

Safety-drop to ground and head back up to the bedroom. The closed curtain is now open, so grab the SMP from inside and then make you way back to the landing in the main hall.

The Attic & The Primary Gate Key

Head to the west side of the landing, enter the west wall door and you'll get quite a fright! Now enter the north room, nip inside the fire place and climb to the top of the ladder on the south wall. At the top of the ladder, climb off to the right, light a flare and make your way through to the attic.

Collect the Flares to your right, and then head right and make your way over to the crates. Keep a flare alight so that you can spot some movable-crates, and then pull the crates out to reveal the Primary Gate Key.

The Training Area - Open The Kitchen Door

Go to the east wall and you will see an opening. Slide down through the opening and land on a balcony outside. If you forgot the key in the attic, use the climbable wall nearby to get back up to the attic. Now drop down to the training area.

You now need to locate two underwater-levers to open the kitchen door. Enter the NE pool, locate underwater-lever (1) in the tunnel and use it to de-activate the 1st lock on the kitchen door. Climb out of the pool and head south to the next pool. Drop into the pool and locate the underwater-lever (2) and use it to open the kitchen door.

Open The Dining Room Door

Climb out of the pool and head north until you arrive at the newly opened kitchen door. Enter the kitchen, go straight ahead to the button on the wall and use it to open the dining room door.

Open The Gym Door

Enter the dining room and use the button on the west wall to open the gym door.

The 1st Secret

Enter the gym and watch out for lurking beasts! Climb the ladder in the NW corner, collect 1st Secret ~ Revolver ~ Revolver Ammo and then drop back to ground.

The Swimming Pool & The Secondary Gate Key

Head through to the swimming Pool, dive into the pool and take the Secondary Gate key from the pool floor.

Use The Primary & secondary Gate Keys

Return to the training area outside and head north to the end of the path. Take a right turn (east) and make your way to the end of the path. Now take a right turn (south) and run to the end of the dark alleyway. Use the Secondary Gate Key on the east wall lock and the gate to your left will open. Head through and make your way along the following dark alleyway until you can take a left turn. Now draw your guns and take out the beast that attacks from the dark. Proceed to the end of the alleyway, and then use the Primary Gate Key on the east wall lock to open the garden gate.

The Garden - Open The Main Gates To Exit The Level

Head through to the garden and watch out for beasts! You can open the door into the house if you wish, but there's really no need to; unless you wish to visit your deceased friends again. So, head to the main gates, use the button on the wall nearby to open them and head through to finish the level.

Lara’s High School

1 Secret

Locate The 1st Head-Gem

Lara arrives in the hallway of her high school and something isn’t quite right - in fact something is very wrong and teacher is missing! Start by heading to the far end of the hallway and spot the vending machine to your right. Use the "action key" on the vending machine and Lara will grab a SMP from the top of it.

Behind you are the rest rooms - but there is no need to explore the Men’s room. Enter the Ladies rest room and locate the head-gem (1) on the wall between the cubicles. Face the head-gem, and then jump while shooting your pistols to break the gem inside the head.

Find Teacher

Leave the rest room and go back to where you entered the level. Open the south door, enter the classroom 1 and........ Oh! Teacher isn't too pleased to see Lara! So, quickly grab your guns and take Miss Maniac down.

Classroom 1

Note the two receptacles on the east wall and then head to the bookcase on the east wall. The bookcase it climbable and there's a crawl space at the top. So, head up to the crawl space, light a flare and go through.

The Dark Crawl Space

Make your way left for some Flares and then back-up and crawl east until you come to a hole in the floor. Back-drop down the hole and grab the wall ladder below you (also note the deadly floor below you). Now climb left and until you can drop off onto a safe area by the deadly floor.

The Library - The 1st Teacher's Heart & The 2nd Head-Gem

You are now in the library. Face the area between the bookcases and run-jump to the safe brown floor area. Collect the Revolver Ammo and then run/jump to the safe area at the south wall. Now jump the lava-traps to get to the west wall, look to your right for a floor-lever and use it to extinguish a fire on a pedestal on the other side of the library. Return over the lava-traps and make your way to the east wall. Go left and take the 1st Teacher’s Heart from the pedestal. Head north to the end of the passage, locate the next head-gem (2) and shoot it.

The Dining Room & The 3rd Head-Gem

Return to the crawl space via the climbable bookcase on the north wall. Go left and make your way to the end. Now turn around and hang-drop down into the dining room.

Head to the vending machines, use the "action key" on the left one and Lara will take the M16 Gun. Now take a look on the east side of the room, locate head-gem (3) and shoot it. While you are here, take note of the burning pedestal behind the structures and the pillars either side of the head-gem. You will be back here later on to deal with those.

Return To The Classroom & Hallway

Return to the crawl space, head straight on and drop down into classroom 1. Go back out into the hallway, and then head straight over and open the north door. You will now enter a lava pit room with a central pillar.

The Eye Balls

Line Lara up facing NW and run/jump to the safe ledge between the central pillar and the outer slope. Grab the pillar, and then climb up and slide-jump from the top of the pillar to the safe ledge on the other side of the pillar. Now line face NE and run/jump to the top of the slopes (making sure you land in the corner where the two slopes meet). Light a flare, locate the movable-block in the east wall and push it through to reveal a hidden room. Enter the hidden room and stand at the skeleton's head. Use the "action key" to move the skeleton and collect the Eye Balls.

The 4th Head-Gem

Face the west wall and shoot the head-gem (4). Shooting all four head-gems has retracted a spike-trap in the lava pit and now you can access the lower areas.

The Glass Jar

Return to the lava pit and jump back to the safe ledge. Grab the central pillar and climb down until you arrive on a small ledge. Drop back from the ledge and climb to the ground.

Face north and jump into the passage in the north wall. Head cautiously through the passage and time the blade-traps to get to the end of the passage. Go left, climb the ladder to the top and face the fiery passage ahead. Grab the monkey swing and time the fire-emitters to get to the other side of the passage. Now go right and collect the Glass Jar and M16 Ammo from the pedestal.

Use The Eye Balls & Glass Jar

Make your way back through the passages and return to the lava pit. Climb the pillar until you can pull up, and then turn around and hang-drop from the left side. Now shimmy left and pull up onto a safe ledge on the other side of the pillar. Face north, hang-drop to the ladder below and climb to ground. Combine the Eye Balls with the Glass Jar and place the Eye Balls In Glass Jar onto the receptacle on the south wall. This will open a door inside classroom 2.

Return To The Hallway

Climb to the top of the pillar, and then turn around and jump to the upper south ledge. Now run/jump to the SE corner of the room and head back out to the hallway.

Locate Classroom 2

Make your way west and return to the vending machine. Enter the door to the right of the vending machine and go to the end of the passage. Open the next door and enter classroom 2.

Classroom 2 & The Diabolical Skull

Grab your guns, take out the raving teacher and then note the central chamber. Run around to the south side of the central room and head inside. Run over to the Diabolic Skull, pick it up and then quickly leave the chamber to avoid the descending spike-trapped ceiling.

Return To The Dining Room

Return to the hallway and make your way back to classroom 1. Climb the bookcase again and re-enter the crawl space. Go right, and then drop down into the dining room.

Use The Diabolic Skull & Collect The 2nd Teacher's Heart

Place the Diabolic Skull on the pillar to the right of the head-gem and the fire will extinguish on the pedestal behind the structure. Now Nip around behind the structure and take the 2nd Teacher’s Heart from the pedestal.

Using The 2 x Teacher's Hearts

Return through the crawl space and head back to classroom 1. Place the 2 x Teacher’s Hearts into the receptacles on the east wall, and then quickly turn around and take out two more demonized teachers. Hmmm I think Lara will on report this time!

Exit The Level

Return to the hallway and run down to the vending machines again. Open the door to the left of the vending machine and head through to exit the level.

The Basement

1 Secret

Arrival

First take a look at the floor of the basement’s main room and note the four symbolic floor-tiles - two to your right and two to your left. You will be lighting these later on when you have the lit torch. Oh....and beware of the lava-traps scattered about on the floor!

Up in the walls of the basement (north and south), there are two alcoves. The south alcove has the torch inside it and the north alcove has a burning corpse on which you can light the torch. There are also four closed doors - two in the east wall, one in the north wall and one in the south wall. Once you have opened the north and south doors, you can then choose which route to take first. You need to use both routes and we will discuss that later on.

Locate The Torch

Go to the south door and locate the blue climbable wall to the right of it. Climb up until you are almost at the top, and then back-flip with a twist and press the "action key" so that Lara grabs the hanging pillar behind her. Shimmy around the pillar and onto the south wall, and then when you are just above the alcove, drop and grab the edge of the alcove and pull up. Now pick up the Torch.

Note: Do not throw or drop the Torch down into the main room or Lara will not be able to retrieve should it land in a lava-trap area.

Light The Torch

Run/jump down to the safe area on the floor of the main room, and then head to the north side of the room. Look towards the closed east door and spot the shimmering tile just before the door. This tile is an elevator that you will use to take the Torch up to the north alcove. So, you need to throw you torch onto the elevator-tile - but save your game before doing so in case you miss-judge anything and your Torch slides onto the lava-traps.

When the Torch is safely on the elevator-tile, head to the blue climbable wall nearby and climb up until you are almost at the top. Now back-flip to the hanging pillar and shimmy around it until you can back-flip into the north wall alcove.

There is a lever in the alcove that will activate the elevator and bring the Torch up to Lara - but only use the lever once, or you could hit an invisible block bug and Lara will not be able to step onto the elevator when it has risen. When the Torch has risen on the elevator, pick it up and light it on the burning corpse.

Light The Four Symbolic Floor-Tiles

You now need to get the Torch to ground level - but don't try to use the elevator because it becomes trapped when it reaches ground level and don't throw the torch over the edge of the alcove or you might not be able to retrieve it from a lava-trap. So, stand away from the elevator and press the "number 1 key" to drop the Torch. Now use the wall-lever again (once only) to lower the elevator, and then pick up the Torch and run/jump down to the safe area on the ground level.

You can now light the four symbolic floor-tiles - but take care not to stand too close to the tiles or Lara will ignite and one of the tiles is triggered to a spike-trap once it has been lit. When all four tiles are lit, the north and south doors will open and you can choose which route to take first.

Which Route To Take First?

I strongly suggest that you take the south route first, as this will save a lot of back-tracking later on and you won't miss the secret. If you do decide to take the north route first, then please make sure you have your Torch available when you take the south route or you will not be able to proceed.

The South Door

You need to take the Torch with you - but as you enter the south passage, a warrior will attack and you need to drop the Torch and grab your guns. So, be careful where you drop the Torch and don’t let it slide onto the lava-traps. When the warrior is out of the way, pick up the Torch and head through the passage. Go past the closed glass door ahead, make your way around to the right and stop at the deep dark pit.

Throw the Torch into the pit, and then use the outer walls of the pit to climb to the bottom. Pick up the Torch and light the wall-torch. This will open the door to the Lava Room. There is also a door to the west which opens as you approach it - but leave it alone for now. Drop the Torch and head through to the Lava Room.

The Lava Room - The Secret Lever & The 1st Red Crystal

Head forwards to the cross-roads and take a left turn. Make your way to the end of the path and find a movable-block. Drag the block to the cross-roads, and then push it onto the east path and place it onto the symbolic floor-tile. This has made some areas of the lava pool safe to swim in - but you must stay close to the paths and not venture out too far as the outer areas of the pool are still deadly.

The Secret Lever

The secret lever will affect an area beyond the north door back in the basement. It will make a deadly acid pool safe and this is the only way to get the next secret. If for any reason you miss this lever, you can return at time to use it.

Facing east, jump to the right of the movable-block and land in the lava pool. Now keeping close to the path, swim under the lava and head towards the east wall. Spot the passage in the east wall and make your way through to the end. Now take a left turn, make your way to the end of the passage and pick up a LMP. Turn around and swim back through the passage until you see a passage to your right, and then head through to the end. Swim left, make your way to the end of the passage, and then swim up and pull out into a small room. Here you will find the secret floor-lever. Use the lever to de-activate the deadly acid pool, and then head back through the passages and pull out of the lava pool.

The 1st Red Crystal

Shift the movable-block forwards (so that you can easily negotiate the pathways), and then make your to the exit door - but don't leave the room yet! Drop into the lava pool on the left side of the path, locate the alcove in the west wall and swim inside for the 1st Red Crystal.

Head Back To The Basement

Pull out of the lava pool and exit the room. You can take the Torch with you if things seem a little dark and spooky. Approach the west door to open it and head through. Make your way along the passages until Lara arrives in an elevator with a rather angry looking warrior. Quickly gun down the miserable fiend, and then wait for the elevator to stop and head out via the glass door (which will open as you approach it). Now head through the passage and return to the basement.

Take a look at the right side east wall door. It's now open and you can place the 1st Red Crystal in the receptacle inside. As you walk away from the receptacle, a small earth quake will occur and a lever will appear through the north door.

The North Door

Jump back to the main room (grab the Torch if you wish), head through the north door and nip into the elevator.

Note: If you haven’t placed the 1st Red Crystal, a warrior will attack and take a ride with you in the elevator. If you have placed the 1st Red Crystal, the lever will be there but you won't be able to use it yet due to being hoisted up in the elevator.

When the elevator stops, note the closed north door with the acid pool room beyond and the dark south passage.

Dark Passages & The Crowbar

If you haven’t brought the Torch with you, light a flare and make your way into the dark spooky passage. At the end of the passage, take a left turn and go to the end of the passage. If you haven’t brought the Torch with you, light a flare and spot the movable-block to your left in the west wall. Pull the movable-block out, and then search behind it for the Crowbar. When you pick up the Crowbar, you will see a shot of a lever in the Acid Pool Room.

Open The Acid Pool Room

Place the movable-block back in the wall (as this will make life easier in the tight passage) and then head to the end of the passage and locate another movable-block in the south wall. Pull the movable-block out once, and then move it westwards once. Look where the block was and pick up the Uzis.

Place the movable-block back if you wish, and then enter the area to the east and make your way to the end of the green passage. If you haven’t brought the Torch with you, light a flare and locate two movable-blocks in the walls to your left and right.

Take the left movable-block first, push it forwards twice and reveal a small room. Enter the small room, locate another movable-block in the west wall and push it forwards twice to reveal another small room. Enter the small room, grab a SMP from the ground and use the wall-lever (1) on the south wall. This is 1 of 2 levers that will open the door to the Acid Pool Room.

Leave the small rooms and return to the previous small room. Leave there via the north door, then walk straight ahead and locate another movable-block in the north wall. Push the movable-block forwards twice and reveal another small room. Enter the small room, collect the Revolver Ammo from the floor and then locate the next movable- block in the west wall. Push the movable-block forwards twice to reveal another small room, and then head through to the new room and use the wall-lever (2) on the north wall to open the Acid Pool Room. Now return to the elevator and enter the newly opened door.

The Acid Pool Room - The 2nd Secret & The 2nd Red Crystal

Stand at the edge of the pool, spot the hanging vine and jump to it. Climb up the vine, and then face west and back-flip to the ledge behind. There's a floor-lever here. Use the Crowbar on the lever to de-activate a spike-trap on the north side of the room and reveal the 2nd Red Crystal.

The 2nd Secret

If you have used the secret lever in the Lava Pool Room...

Jump into the acid pool (which is safe if you have used the secret lever), swim to the NE corner and collect the 2nd Secret ~ Huggies - Happy Rock Addition.

If you have not used the secret lever in the Lava Pool Room...

You will not be able to get the secret - but if you wish to get it, you can return here later on when you have used the secret lever. See the section The Lava Room - The Secret Lever & The 1st Red Crystal

The 2nd Red Crystal

If you have used the secret lever in the Lava Pool Room...

Swim west to the slope opposite the spike-trap ledge, and then pull up onto the slope and back-flip to the spike-trap ledge. The spikes will retract when you land and you can then pick up the SMP and 2nd Red Crystal. Now jump back into the pool, swim to the exit door and leave the room.

If you have not used the secret lever in the Lava Pool Room...

Jump to the slope below the lever ledge, and then slide-jump the slopes to get to the north wall ledge. The spikes will retract when you jump onto the final slope and you can then pick up the SMP and 2nd Red Crystal. Now grab the climbable north wall and shimmy left until the lever ledge is behind you. Now back-flip to the lever ledge, run-jump over the acid pool to the exit door and leave the room.

If you have the Torch with you and you have not done the Lava Pool Room yet, make sure you take it back to the basement! This is vital because you will need the Torch to open a door through the south door in the basement.

Return To The Basement

Grab the west wall ladder and climb to ground.

Note: If you have not placed the 1st Red Crystal (right side door on the east wall of the basement), do so now or the lever in the elevator alcove will not be exposed.

Use the lever (east) to open the door to the 2nd Red Crystal receptacle and then nip into the basement. Face the left side door on the east wall, and then jump over the deadly floor and place 2nd Red Crystal into the receptacle to exit the level.

Murder Scene – The Matchmaker

1 Secret

The Lucky Motel Key

Lara begins in a small hallway. Head west, make your way to the boxes at the end of the hallway and then climb up for the Revolver ~ SMP. Now pull up into the crawl space in the south wall, head through and drop down into a dark room.

Light a flare and head north. You will find some shootable-boxes and the Lucky Motel key is hidden inside them. Now head to the south side of the room, drop down the central hole and arrive in a shallow indent in the floor of the room below.

Note: the walls inside the hole you just dropped through are climbable. This will enable you to get back up to the previous room if you missed the Lucky Motel Key.

The Mutant's Cells & The PDA

Search the room for 2 x Revolver Ammo ~ LMP and then head to the north wall and spot the two sets of doors. Both doors lead to the same room and it doesn't matter which ones you use. So, use the "action key" to open one of the doors and head through to the dark room beyond.

As you enter the room, you will get a cut-scene of a mutant dragging a body across the floor. In the middle of the room you will find the area where the mutant was dragging the body away. There are some drag marks on the floor and the PDA is lying nearby. When you take the PDA, three mutants will attack - so be sure to take them out asap or they will swipe Lara's health away in an instant. One of the mutants will drop a SMP. Now examine the PDA by selecting it from your inventory. It will give you some important information for later on.

You will now be leaving this place, but you will be back here later on so make sure you have the Lucky Motel key with you.

If You Missed The Lucky Motel key

Head out to the previous room and use the climbable wall inside the hole in the ceiling to get to the room above. Shoot the boxes to the north and find the Lucky Motel Key inside. Now drop down back to the mutant's cells and head through to the north room.

Leaving The Mutant's Cells For Now

Spot the doors in the east and west walls and head over to the east door. Use the "action Key" to open the door and head through to the room beyond. Take out the mutant that shows up and then head to the south wall. Locate the ladder on the east side of the ledge and climb up. Now spot the rope suspended from the central part of the ceiling and jump to it.

The 3rd Secret

Spot the opening in the north wall - but don't head there just yet. Swing towards the dark east wall, jump off into a very hard to see opening in the east wall and collect the 3rd Secret ~ Flares.

Leaving The Level For Now

You will now be heading to the next level - but you will be back here later on, so don't say farewell just yet. Jump back to the rope and swing to the opening in the north wall. Collect the Uzi Ammo at Lara's feet and then head forwards and enter the next level.

Murder Scene 2 – The Torturer

Lara arrives on the roof of an apartment building. First note the break in the fence behind you. This is the portal back to the previous level - so remember this place. Now shoot the two dustbins ahead of you for a SMP ~ Flares and then make your way to the east side of the roof, open the floor-hatch and drop down inside.

The Apartment

Lara arrives in the lounge. First take down the mutant that attacks and then head to the SE corner for a LMP. Now head to the west wall and note the two doors.

The Bathroom

Open the right door (the left door is for later on) and enter the bathroom. Shoot the box on the north wall and use the lever inside to open a trap door in the shower room.

The Hallway

Return to the lounge, open the north wall door and enter the hallway. Go left, make your way to the end of the hallway and use the Lucky Motel Key on the lock to open the door to your right.

Locate The Shower Room

Head through the newly opened door and kill the lurking mutant. Head over to the east wall and spot the three doors in the east wall. Enter the right door (the other to have nothing inside them) and you have found the shower room.

The Shower Room & The Rusted Key

Note the lock to your right and the sign above it saying "Sewage Trap Door". You will come back to that later on when you have the key, so remember this place. To the left of the lock, you will see the trap door you opened a moment ago via the lever in the bathroom. Below the trap door there is a flooded passage. Drop into the flooded passage, swim down and collect the Rusted Key plus M16 ~ Revolver Ammo.

Take The Rusted Key Back To The Previous Level

Swim out of the passage and head back to the lounge (where you first arrived in the apartment). Head to the west wall, open the left door and enter the kitchen.

The Kitchen

As you enter the kitchen, the camera angle will change and you will see a ladder on the north wall. Climb the ladder and make your way up to the roof. Head to the west side of the roof, jump through the break in the fence and enter the previous level.

The Matchmaker - Revisited

Use The Rusted Key

Lara arrives back in the rope room. Drop to ground, head out of the room and go straight across to the west wall door. Open the door, make your way through to the end of the passage and use the Rusted key on the lock. A door will open to your left - but save your game before entering the room beyond.

The Electrode Room & The Sewage Trap Door Key

As soon as you enter the room, two electrodes will activate and attach themselves to Lara. This will drain her health while she collects the Sewage Trap Door Key from the centre of the room - so you need to move fast! Also, the Sewage Trap Door Key is surrounded by burning floor-tiles. You also need to figure out the puzzle to the burning floor-tiles in order to get the Sewage Trap Door Key, and this is where the PDA comes into play. Check the PDA for the route to the key (sacrifice, death torture and rape) or follow the instructions below.

The Fire-Tile Puzzle

There are four crucial floor-tiles - Sacrifice, Death Torture and Rape. Start with the Sacrifice tile (which is already safe to stand on) and then jump to the safe area to the south. Jump SW to the next safe area and the fire will extinguish on the Death tile. Jump to the Death tile to extinguish the Torture tile, and then run around to the Rape tile which will extinguish as you approach it. It's now safe to take the Sewage Trap Door Key - and as you do so, the electrodes will de-activate.

Take The Sewage Trap Door Key To The Apartment

Leave the electrode room, head back to the rope room and use the rope to return to the apartment.

The Torturer – Revisited

Lara is now back on the apartment roof. Head to the east side of the roof, drop down the floor-hatch and fall into the lounge.

Head Back To The Shower Room And Use The Sewage Trap Door Key

Leave the lounge via the north door and enter the hallway. Make your way left and head to the end of the passage. Enter the open door and head over to the east wall. Enter the right door, go through to the shower room and use the Sewage Trap Door Key on the lock to your right.

Locate The Demon's Lair

Using the Sewage Trap Door Key has extended the flooded passage below the trap door nearby. So, drop into the water and swim through to the Demon's Lair.

The Demon's Lair

Lara will arrive in a pool and can climb out safely on either side. Look west, spot the large central platform and make your way over to it (taking care not to fall from the narrow bridge). On the central island, the first demon will appear. Use your heavy weaponry to shoot her and jump around as much as you can to avoid her deadly bolts. When the battle is over, run towards the symbol on the west wall and Lara will be zapped off to her final destination.

Epilogue

Lara arrives on the top of slope with a building below her. Run to the bottom of the slope and shoot the angels by the door. The angels will shatter and Lara can enter the final room - but before you enter the room, save your game because you are not only going to be meeting Lady Purgatory, you will also be on a timer (which starts as soon as you enter the room).

Lady Purgatory

As you enter the room, there is a short cut-scene and your time begins. The lovely (but deadly) Lady Purgatory appears and you have approximately 2.45 minutes to kill her.

Thankfully, there is plenty of room to move about - and hopefully, you have saved up enough heavy ammo and can kill Lady Purgatory relatively quickly.
