[Note] I had trouble running the
level with the regular tomb.exe file that I have. It always crashed when I got
near the motorcycle in the first level. I used the modified tomb.exe file from
the "House on the Hill" and the levels were playable and did not
crash. I assume that the problem was related to the differences between the
European and North American versions of the tomb.exe file. [End note]
Level 1: Pamplona
When the game starts, you are in the street and
standing beside a car. Turn around and go west to see closed gate #1 and a
closed door in the south-west corner. There are many gates so I will number
them for convenience. Turn and go east and go down the street. There is an
empty trashcan to shoot on your right side. Continue east to an intersection
and go south to closed gate #2. You get a cut scene of the motorcycle behind
the gate. Turn and shoot another empty trashcan and notice the ladder on the
north wall. Climb the ladder and shimmy to the right to pull up onto a bridge.
Jump to a window ledge to the south-west and pick up Uzi
ammo. Go near the window and the view changes to show you a fuse box on
a wall. Jump to a ledge to the east for red shotgun
shells. Then return to the bridge.
Notice a crawl space in the east wall. You need to
go there later. For now safety drop back to the street. Go north to shoot
another empty trashcan and then follow the street to the east. There is another
empty trashcan to your right. Near the intersection, notice an opening with a
vine below it in the south wall. First go to the end of the street and see a
church. To the north is closed gate #3. Go south and see an alcove with a
closed door in west wall. At the south end of the street is closed gate #4 with
flags above it. Now that you know the street plan, return to opening in the
wall with the vine below it.
Pull up into the opening and enter a storage room.
You can shoot all the empty boxes and then climb the pole in the north-west
corner. At the top, back flip to the east onto another storage area and shoot
more empty boxes. Pull up into an alcove at the south wall for a small medipack. Then enter the opening in the north
wall. You are in an opening overlooking the street. Run and jump to the
north-west to land on a bridge. Then run and jump into the terrace to the
north-west. There is a fake trap door in the middle of the floor. Go east and
push open the doors. Go to the east wall and pull down the wall switch. Exit
back to the terrace and safety drop to the street.
Go west and return to the wall ladder and the
bridge. Now enter the crawl space and go straight east. Loop around to the
right and follow the crawl space to the end. Safety drop onto a box in a large
room. Get down and go south to follow the rooms and you reach the motorcycle.
First, dive into the water in the south-west corner. Swim down through a hole
and then swim south. Swim down into an open trap door and south again. You can
get secret #1 as you pick up a secret item from the floor. If you had come here
earlier, the trap door would have been closed. Swim back to the motorcycle. Go
north into the next room and gate #2 opens. Shoot the boxes on the ledge for Uzi ammo and red shotgun
shells. You can search the shelves but there is nothing to find. Go back
to the motorcycle and drive out onto the street.
Go west and follow the street back to gate #1. The
door in the south-west corner is open. Get off the motorcycle and enter the
door. You enter a room with a green floor. There is closed gate #5 to the east.
Go west to pick up flares. Jump up to grab a
ladder above the flares location. Climb until you feet are at the bottom of the
ladder. Back flip, roll, and grab a crawl space. Drop on the other side and see
a yellow car and a closed trap door in the ground. Go east and push open the
door in the east wall. Enter an office and continue east into another office.
Pull up into the crawl space in the east wall. Pull up and go east to pull up
into a third office. Shoot the fuse box on the east wall. Go to the fuse box
and pull down the switch. Then exit back the same way that you entered. Gate #5
is open so return to the motorcycle.
Drive east and follow the street to the church.
Turn to the south and see that gate #4 is open. Drive through the gate and up a
ramp. Continue to a wall that you cannot drive over. Climb the wall and
continue south. Slide down a slope and get a flyby of a bull in the tunnel. Go south and stay near the east wall. You
should see a hole in the ceiling and a ladder. Pick up the large medipack and return to the hole. Grab the
ladder and climb up and away from the bull. You pull up into a collapsed area.
Go to the north-west for the exit onto another street.
There is another empty trashcan in the corner. At
the west end is closed gate #6. Pass under a bridge and loop around to the left
to climb a ladder. Shimmy to the left and pull up onto the bridge. Jump
south-east to a corner ledge. Then jump to the ledge at the east wall and pick
up Uzi's and Uzi ammo. Return to the bridge and jump to the
north-west window ledge. Enter the open window into a room. Go east into the
next room and get a cut scene of a bull on the ground by a door. Pick up Uzi ammo near the aquarium. Pull down the wall switch
on the east wall. Return to the bridge and safety drop into the street.
Go west towards the open gates and four bulls start to chase you. Now I know why the
level was called Pamplona. Enter the gate and follow the street to the west
until you see a ladder on the south wall. There is closed gate #7 further to
the west. There are also another two bulls around the
corner. Climb the ladder and shimmy left onto a window ledge. You can jump to a
yellow ledge to the north-west for red shotgun
shells. Jump back to the window ledge and jump
to the south-west onto a ledge and then onto the bridge. Go west and pick up
the shotgun.
Look south and see two bulls in front of a closed trap door on the street. Return to the window ledge. Enter the open
window and get into the room. Pull down the wall switch on the north
wall. You get a cut scene of the bulls at the trap door. Exit the room and
safety drop to the ground. Run to the south-west and drop into the open trap
door.
Follow the tunnel, as there is not really much
choice. You will drop into a small pit and pull up into a crawl space area to
the west. Drop into the hole in the floor and into some water. Swim to the
north-east corner and swim down a hole. Just follow the underwater tunnel until
you swim to the north. Go to the north wall and swim up to the surface. Pull up
into a room and go south into another water hole for a small
medipack. Pull up and go to the north-west corner of the room to enter a
tunnel. Go up the steps and drop down into another area. Hop up onto the north
ledge and go to the west wall for Uzi ammo.
Climb a block to the south-east and look up to see a hole in the ceiling. Jump
up there to grab the edge of the hole. Pull up and you are back in the area
with the yellow car. There are two bulls between
you and the door. Return to the street as before but this time another bull is waiting for you.
Run down the street to the east and back towards
the church. At the church go north into open gate #3.
Run into the gate with the bulls behind you. Continue running and the level
changes.
Level 2: Arena
The gates open as you approach them. Go
to the right and you can shoot an empty trashcan. Go west towards the area and get a flyby of a gate with the head
of a bull above it. Go near the south door and a bull breaks the door and escapes into the
open area. Run into the bullpen and pull down the wall switch at the end. Then
exit the bullpen and run to the north-west corner. Dive into the water in the
trap door that you opened. Follow the underwater tunnel and you see a closed
gate. Turn to the right and follow the tunnel to pull up into a room. The vases
are empty. Pull the wall switch on the south wall to open the door beside it.
Enter the door and run to the right side. You face a room with deadly red tiles
and safe green tiles. The last jump is hard since you have to run diagonally
and jump with a curve to get to the last safe tile. When you make it, go the
west wall and pull down a wall switch. You gate a long flyby of a door opening
and a long underwater tunnel. Jump the tiles again and return to the room with
the water hole.
Shoot the broken grate in the middle of
the east wall. Jump up there and drop into a trench. Go north and pull down a
wall switch. Turn and go south for flares. Return to the room and dive back into the water. Swim down the
tunnel and turn to the right into the newly open gate. Follow the tunnel to pull up into a small
room. Pick up the shotgun and get a cut scene of a gate opening. The vase in the corner is
empty. Swim back into the open area with the bull.
Enter the main arena to the west. Go up
the stairs and see a closed gate in front of you. Go to the left and pull down
the wall switch to open the gate. Go to the back of the wall and tease the bull
into breaking the target on the back wall. Turn and go up the north stairs to
the newly opened door. The bull should still be following you. Go up the stairs
and onto a balcony. Run north and enter an open door to your right. The vase is
empty but in the north wall is the door you opened with the switch. Enter and
push open two doors. The way is still blocked by a gate. Exit and tease the
bull into breaking the door in the south-east alcove. Run inside the room and
pull down the wall switch on the south wall. Exit back to that blocked gate and
the gate is open.
Do not enter that doorway yet. Go to
the open door in the south wall. This door was open when you picked up the
shotgun. Pick up Uzi ammo from the pedestal. Pull down the wall switch and get a cut scene
of the other bullpen in the open area. And another bull of course. Run back down all the stairs
to the open area. Enter the open bullpen and hop up onto the north ledge. You
get secret #2 and pick up a secret item. Now return back up all the stairs to the room with the open gate
and enter that doorway in the north wall.
Slide down a slope and jump to a ledge.
Pick up Uzi's and Uzi ammo. Drop into the water below and pick up
red shotgun shells in a bottom crawl space. Then pull up to a ledge. Grab the
crevice on the north wall and shimmy to the right. Pull up and a gate opens for
you. Pick up red shotgun shells and the shotgun and the gate closes. Go through a short crawl space and drop into
a room. Shoot the skeleton into the deep shaft in the west wall. There are shotgun shells at
the bottom but you have to get them later. Pick up a small medipack from the south-west
pedestal.
Enter the opening in the east wall and
the gate closes behind you. Follow the tunnel and at the end shoot a skeleton into a hole. Safety drop into the hole
and quickly go east into an alcove to drop to a lower ledge. This way the two skeletons cause no damage.
Jump over a deadly yellow water pit. Follow the tunnel to shoot another skeleton and jump over a second yellow water
pit. Climb the pole and back flip at the top into an upper tunnel. Go south and
jump a large gap. Climb onto a block to the west. Jump at an angle to get onto
a lower block to the north-west. Jump over a small gap to a ledge. Jump a wider
gap to pull up into a tunnel. Go to the end and pull down a wall switch. You
get a cut scene showing a room with an empty pit and a crawl space.
Climb the block to the east and jump
over a pit. Climb the pole and back flip to the east into a tunnel. Go to the
end and a gate closes behind you. Go through a crawl space and drop into the
room that you saw. Shoot the two skeletons into the pit. Go to the opening in the west wall and dive into
the water. Swim into an alcove for red shotgun
shells. Pull back up and drop into the main pit. Wade
through the water to the south end and get a flyby of the area. At the end of
the trench, shoot the left grate and it breaks. Enter the opening and go left.
Pull up to the grate above you and jump up onto the east ledge. Dive into the water and just follow it to
pull up into a small room. The vase is empty. Exit out the door onto a balcony.
Turn north and go down the stairs to a
large room. Pull down the wall switch on the east wall and get a cut scene of
an underwater gate opening. Return up the stairs and back to the room with the
water. Dive in and swim south through the open gate. Surface into another room
and exit into a corridor. Go east to climb the wall and pull down the wall
switch. You get a cut scene of three bulls in a room with a pole. Turn to the right and slide into that
room. There is also Thor shooting fire bolts at you.
You slide onto a ledge. Run north and
grab a crevice and shimmy to the right to pull up into a crawl space. Pull down
the wall switch and exit to shimmy back to the ledge. Thor only attacks if you
are on the floor. Drop into the room and run for the pole. Climb the pole and
back flip to a ledge. Go east through the open door and pick up red shotgun shells off a pedestal. Go
around the fire traps and go to the south-west. Pull down a wall switch and you
get a cut scene of a room below you. Drop back into the room. Go through the open door in the east wall.
You enter a room with a large pool. The
vases in the room are empty. Pull down the wall switch at the south wall. Dive
into the pool and swim down the hole in the middle. Swim through an open gate
into a room below the bulls. Pull up into an alcove in the east side. Pull down
the wall switch and swim back to the pool. Pull up into the room and follow the
north corridor. Hop onto the ledge and slide down the slope as the level
changes.
Level 3: Passaggio Segreto
Slide down a slope and drop into a
room. There are closed doors to the south so go north into an open room. Notice
the movable globe behind the fire tiles. Hop up into the east opening and
continue to another dark room. There is a closed door at the east wall. There
are three skeletons on the floor area. Go south and back flip onto a slope to jump
forward to a column. Jump to another east column and turn around to pull up to
a higher west ledge. Jump north to a small ledge and then north again to a long
ledge. Notice a closed gate in the east wall. Go to the north end and run off
the ledge to the west. You should fall into a hole with a switch. Pull down the
wall switch and get a cut scene of a gate opening.
Safety drop to the ground and repeat
the route to the long ledge. This time run and jump into the open gate. Climb a
block and jump the ledges to reach the switch in the south corner. Pull down
then switch and run off the ledge to the lower columns. Go back to the first
room and see the fire has stopped in front of the globe. Pull the globe back
and push it over the pedestal at the east wall. Return to the room with the
skeletons and enter the open east gate. Go south over the ledge and pull down
the wall switch at the south wall. You get a cut scene of the doors opening
near the start. Carefully jump the fire to grab the ledge. Go back through the
rooms and to the open doors in the south wall.
Jump over a pit and enter a room filled
with piles of gold. The vases in the side wall alcoves are empty. Go to the
south wall and pick up an artifact (Artefatto) off the pedestal. Return to the north highest pile of gold and
run and jump to grab a crawl space in the east wall. Follow the crawl space
until you can stand up. Jump over a hole and continue down the tunnel. Jump
down into a room with a pole. First go to the tunnel in the north-west corner.
Climb up at the end and push the globe onto the pedestal in the corner. You get
a cut scene of the room flooding and a gate opening.
Return to slide down a pole into a
lower corridor. Go to the north-west and follow the crawl space to the water.
Dive in and swim through the open gate. Swim forward as the camera view changes
and pull up onto a ledge on the south side. Turn and jump to pull up onto a
grating over the water. Hop up into the opening in the north wall. You overlook
a large dark room with mounds of dirt. The exit is in the upper north-east
corner.
Go there and enter a room with a
rotating blade over a water pool. There are fire traps in the water as well.
Jump over the rotating blades and wade to the east wall ledge. Pull up and use
the floor lever at the back wall. Return through the rotating blades to find an
open gate in the west wall. Climb up there and be careful of the blades as you
jump to the west wall. Pull down the jump switch and you hear a gate open. Jump
back through the blades and see the open gate in the north wall. Avoid the
rotating blades again and go there. Do not rush inside but wait for some blades
to finish slicing the air in front of you. Enter and hop over the fire trap at
the entrance.
Drop into a pit and go east as two skeletons arise from the
ground. Enter a small room in the north-east corner to use a floor lever. You
have to evade the skeletons and go through four sets of blades. I lured the
skeletons back to the entrance, shot them to the floor, and then I ran for the
blades. I used a lot of medipacks but I outran the skeletons. You will reach a
room with water to get rid of the skeletons if they followed you that far. You
can crawl under a blade at the west wall for red shotgun shells. Dive into the
water and swim to the south side of the column to pull an underwater lever.
Then swim to the north-west through the open gates. Enter a very large lake
with an island in the middle. Swim up to surface and pull up at a north ledge.
There is a guard on the high north ledge that may shoot
at you. Grab the north ledge and shimmy to the left past the gate. Do a
"banana-type" jump with a right curve around the west column. Run
around the ledge above the water to get to the cave at the east wall. Go to the
north-east corner and dive into the water hole. Swim down and into an
underwater cave. Swim to the west grate for secret #3 and a secret item. Return to the
water and swim back to the north ledge.
This time, enter the open gate. You
cannot reach the helicopter. Shoot the windows in the north wall and they
break. Enter the corridor and kill a guard. Pick up the small medipack that is dropped. Follow the corridor and shoot the windows in the
east wall. Enter and kill three guards. One guard will drop a plaque
(Placca). Jump the fence in the north-east corner
and pull down the wall switch. Return to the corridor and go west to find an
open trap door in a corner. Climb down the wall ladder and search the small
area for the receptacle for the plaque. You get a cut scene of the gate opening
in the room with the guards. Immediately turn and kill a guard. Climb back up and go to that room. Go
through the gate and pull down the wall switch and the level changes.
Level 4: Pamplona, Fests di San Firmino
You start on the other side of the gate
from the previous level. Go forward and around the corner. Shoot the windows
and jump onto a balcony over the streets. Safety drop to the ground and go
east. You can shoot an empty trashcan. Go north, opposite the trashcan, and
push open the gates. Enter a room with boxes. Kill a guard and go east to push open the gates.
Enter a small outdoor area. Go north and enter another room with boxes. There
are guards in the room to the east guarding a receptacle for an item that you
do not have yet. Ignore them and come back later.
Go north and push open the doors. Go to the north wall and climb down a hole
in the floor. Go to the east wall and pull down the wall switch. Use the wall
ladder and back flip out of the hole. Return to the street area and go east.
There are closed gates at the end of the street. Then turn south towards the
structure under the helicopter landing pad. Watch for a pit on the structure
directly under the helicopter. Go the south side and use the floor lever. You
get a cut scene of the helicopter with the navigation lights blinking. Go north
and turn to the east towards the open gates.
Go south into the tunnel and pull down
a wall switch. Two guards and four bulls attack you. Run back to the gate and see two bulls in the distance. Go south again to the
helicopter and see an open gate at the south wall. Enter the room and shoot the
empty trashcans. Climb down the open trap door into the room below. Pull down
the wall switch on the east wall. You get a cut scene of an open trap door at a
wall ladder. Climb the wall ladder to exit back into the upper room. Jump into
the opening in the south wall. Follow the tunnel in the south wall and go
through a crawl space.
Stand up in a game room with a large
pool table. Go south to kill a guard and pick up the garage key (Scheda
del Garage). Go back through the crawl space and kill two guards. Return to the structure under the
helicopter. You may notice a ladder going down to the pit. Go north and avoid
the bulls. Return to the first room with boxes. Now go to that east section
behind the boxes and kill two guards. Use the garage key in the receptacle in the north-east corner
and the gate opens beside you.
Enter the room and get on the
motorcycle. Run over a guard and drive up the ramp onto the boxes. Go east and the gates open
before you. Run over two guards and avoid the bulls. Drive west and then south to the structure
under the helicopter. Drive to the back and up the steps of the structure. Drop
into the pit with the motorcycle. You will need full health to do this. Drive
west down the tunnel and up the ramp at the far end. Get off the motorcycle and
climb the ladder on the north wall.
You are back onto a street. Run west a
little and loop around to the left to see a wall ladder. Climb the ladder and
shimmy to the right to drop onto a ledge. Jump west to another ledge. Go to the
end and get secret #4 and a secret item. Safety drop to the ground and run west towards the black car and
the level ends.
Actually I seemed to be in a black hole
and could see the building in the distance and hear the bulls. I assumed this
was because of the patched executable that I was using.
