Following the Balloons to Another Party

Level 1
You started by sliding backwards down a slope. Turn
around and you are in a small tunnel. Follow the tunnel to exit the cave and
onto an outside path. You will see many colorful balloons in this level. They
do not seem to have a use. Pick up flares from
the ground to your left. Jump over a slope to grab a column to the north-east.
Pull up and jump south onto a column to the left of the tunnel entrance. Walk
south onto the next column and pick up a broken CD
for secret #1. Slide down to the path and
follow the path to a deep pit. At the bottom of the pit you can see a locked
door. You can climb down for Uzi ammo and then
climb back up to the path. For now run and jump over the pit and pull up onto
the next path. You get a cut scene of snowballs and a danger sign. Continue to
follow the path to the danger area.
Go west and drop into a trench. Go west and when the
snowballs start to roll, run back east and duck under the ledge and the
snowballs will fly over your head. Follow the trench and be careful of the snowballs
if they are still moving. Climb a block into an open area and shoot a snow leopard that starts to attack you. To the west is
a building with a locked door. There is a cave in the lower south wall for
later. Go to the north wall and jump using grab to get into the tunnel. Follow
the tunnel and pick up flares. Continue
following the tunnel until you reach a water channel. Pick up Uzi ammo near a small table at the edge of the water.
Jump the ledges to enter an opening in the west wall. Shoot a guard for a small medipack.
Exit and go to the north-east towards a cage. Shoot the guard for Uzi ammo. There is a
closed gate in the north corner.
Dive into the water and notice a lower tunnel under
the east ledge. It leads to a closed gate. So swim to the west and turn to the
right to surface. Pull up onto the dock and shoot a guard.
Enter the building and go to the north-east corner. Save the game in front of a
timed switch. Pull down the wall switch and get a cut scene of an underwater
gate opening. That gate is in the tunnel under the east wall ledge. I let the
switch time out. On the second pull the cut scene does not happen so you gain a
little time. Pull down the wall switch, roll, and run out of the building. Dive
into the water and swim to the east and into the tunnel. Turn left at the end
and stay near the right side wall to get past the tight timed gate. (Click here

Pull up into a small room and shoot a guard for Uzi ammo.
Pull the wall switch on the east wall and get a cut
scene of a door opening back in the first building with the wall switch. Do not
go there yet. Look up and to the right of the wall switch for a camouflaged
jump switch. Pull down the jump switch and the door opens behind you. Enter the
door and follow the tunnel to shoot a guard near a tunnel junction.
In a south tunnel there is a closed door
(D#1). In the north tunnel is a closed door (D#2) and a wall switch (S#2). At
the end of the west tunnel you can see the other
building. Enter the west tunnel a little ways. In the south wall are a closed
door (D#3) and a wall switch (S#3). In an opposite north alcove is a closed
door (D#4).
Follow a short north tunnel and pull down the wall
switch S#2 beside door D#2. Both doors D#3 and D#4 in the west tunnel open. Go
into the west tunnel and enter the north tunnel behind the north door D#4.
There are two tiles at the end of the tunnel that control door D#2. Step on the
corner left tile to open the door D#2 and thus blocking off access to the wall
switch S#2 but opening the tunnel. Exit the tunnel and enter the south alcove
behind door D#3. Pull down the wall switch S#3 to close door D#4. Exit and
return to door D#2. Follow the tunnel around to wall switch S#4 that was hidden
by door D#4. Pull down the wall switch D#4 to open the south tunnel door D#1.
Now comes the problem of getting out of the closed tunnel.
Step on the left corner tile to open door D#2 again.
If you step on the right side tile, the door D#2 will close. Start near door
D#4 and run at an angle over the left corner tile. Run and jump over the right
side tile so that door D#2 stays open. Exit the tunnel and go south to the open
door D#1.
Follow the tunnel and time a run through the spike
trap. Enter the cage and shoot three snow leopards.
Pick up the Metal Key from a small platform. A
gate opens and a guard enters the cage. Shoot the guard
and exit the cage back to the water channel area. Swim west to return to
the earlier building and enter the open door. Go into the dark north-east
corner of the room for a large medipack. There
is a wall switch behind a short block. I could not reach the wall switch so I
guess it was useless. Swim back to the east ledges and go south. Climb your way
back out of the caves and be careful of falling icicles.
Exit the tunnel back into the open area with the
building to the west. Use the key to open the door and enter the room. Go north
and pick up a bottle of red wine from the
alcove with a window. You get a cut scene of a gate opening in a cave. Pull
down the wall switch at the north wall and get a cut scene of a gate opening.
Exit the building and loop around to the right to enter the open gate. Pick up Uzi ammo from the floor and drive the snowmobile out
the door. You can only seem to get onto the snowmobile from one side.
Drive into the cave in the south wall. Drive up a ramp
and jump over a large pit. Keep to the right side of the pillar to land on a
ledge. (Click here
for a savegame 022.) Follow the cave and drive through the open
gate. Drive onto the middle pointed slope and jump another pit into a tunnel.
Follow the tracks on the cave floor. Now for another very difficult jump over a
pit. Follow the tracks on the floor exactly and start from the entrance tunnel to
make the jump. (Click

026.) Follow the tracks to another cave and see a
slope for jumping. This time do not follow the tracks but jump from the higher
slope on the right side of the slope. You jump a deep pit and should land on a
ledge as the level changes.
Level 2
You are on the snowmobile in front of a waterfall from
the last level. (Click
here for a savegame 027 at the start of this second level.) Drive the snowmobile over the grid floor and
into the cave. Follow the tracks until you see a water stream. Get off the
snowmobile and use the pillars as cover to shoot two
guards on the high west and high south ledges. There is a closed gate
and key lock at the west wall. Dive into the water stream and swim to the
north. Pull up onto the box at the north wall. Pick up Uzi
ammo and Uzi's. Return to the main cave
to the south. Climb a box and jump to grab a sloped column to the south. Pull
up and jump to grab the high south ledge. Pick up Uzi
ammo and enter the tunnel in the south wall. Follow the tunnel and pass
a closed door. Continue following the tunnel to the high west ledge and pick up
a small medipack. Go north and jump onto the
ledge with the flowing water stream. Continue north and shoot two guards to get flares.
Go east up a slope and look for a vertical flowing water stream on the south
wall. Stand by that stream and look up to see a vertical shaft. Jump north to
grab the wall and climb up. When the camera view pulls back, back flip into a
small opening. Pick up a good music CD for secret #2. Climb down the wall back to the lower
stream.
Follow the stream to the east into a cave with a
waterfall. Jump onto a triangular ledge in the north-west corner. Make a
difficult diagonal run across the ledge and jump to grab a high ledge to the
south. Then jump to the east and onto the top of the waterfall. Go east through
a cave and emerge onto a ledge above a deep water pool. Dive into the water and
swim to the south-east corner. Pull up onto the ledge and shoot two snow leopards. Enter a cave in the corner for Uzi ammo. Return to the ledge and jump to the west
onto a block in the water. Use binoculars to see a jump switch on the sloped
column in the middle of the water. Pull down the jump switch and an underwater
door opens to the south.
Swim through the doorway and follow the tunnel to the
end. Pick up a bottle of water from the floor
and a gate opens next to you. Swim through the gate and surface for air. You
are under the grid floor where you started. Dive again and swim into the
underwater tunnel to the south. At the end, pick up the Gold Key from the top of a column. You get a cut scene of a closed
gate. Swim back to the room with the jump switch. Pull up in the south-east
comer again and shoot a guard. Jump to the block
in the water again. Jump to the sloped block but this time grab the top of the
slope. Shimmy to the right and pull up. Slide down and jump with a right curve
to grab the climbable wall to the right side of the waterfalls. Climb up to the
top. Follow the water stream back to the ledge above the main cave area but do
not jump into the water below.
Go to the east end of the ledge and jump to grab the
climbable wall to the south. Shimmy left around the corner and to the left as
far as possible. Get into the climbing position and back flip into a dark
alcove. Pull down a wall switch and get a cut scene of a door opening. Grab the
wall again and climb down to the ground. You can go west and use the key to
open the door but you can do nothing there yet. Climb the block and use the
slope again to get onto the high south ledge. Enter the tunnel and see that the
door is open this time.
Enter the door and follow the tunnel and be careful of
falling icicles. Go through a room with two columns. Enter a new tunnel in the
east wall and shoot a Yeti. Follow the tunnel to
a tall room. Pull up onto a block in the south-east corner and climb the east
wall. Stop occasionally and when the camera view shows a ledge behind you, back
flip, roll, and jump onto a slope. Then jump forward to grab a climbable wall.
Shimmy to the right and around the next two corners. Climb up to where there
seems to be a horizontal line on the wall. Then back flip, roll, and grab the
opposite wall. Climb to the top and shimmy left into a tunnel.
Follow the tunnel to the west and see a room with a
tunnel with fire to the east. In a south tunnel is a closed door. Go to the
room with the fire. Switches in a north-east alcove and on the east wall will
stop two fires. But these switches are timed so you have to hurry. Enter the
tunnel and jump over the third fire. Follow the tunnel to shoot a Yeti. Follow the tunnel to a room and get a view of
the tunnel with all three fires stopped. Pick up an almost invisible torch on
the floor at the south wall. Notice the other torch left on the floor. Exit
back to the room with the two switches. Climb a block in the south-west corner
to cycle a wall switch to start the fires in the tunnel again or wait until
they time out and start again. Light the torch on the fire. Bring the torch and
return to the junction where you climbed the wall.
Follow the tunnel to the east and enter an ice wall
section. You can see two ice wall sections on the left have a bluish color to
them. Continue to the end of the tunnel and go through a crawl space. You have
to crouch and throw the torch a few times in order to bring the torch with you.
Climb down a wall and you are on a ledge over a deep pit. Notice a brown tile
on the floor. Step on the brown tile and you can see an ice block appear to the
south. Step off the brown tile and the block disappears. Bring the torch and
enter the tunnel in the west wall. Be careful of falling icicles and follow the
tunnel to a pit. At the top you can see icicles hanging from the ceiling in the
north-east corner. Start at the left side of the ledge. Run and jump the pit
with a right curve to land in the tunnel on the opposite side. With luck you
should also set the icicles on fire. The icicles will drop onto the brown tile
on the floor below. (Click

063.) Continue to follow the tunnel. At the end
you can pick up a large medipack and see an
item behind the ice wall. Carefully return to the area with the brown tile. The
ice block should be available.
Jump and grab the ice slope. Pull up and jump to the
next slope. Jump to the slope to the
west and slide down and grab the edge. Shimmy to the far left. Pull up, back
flip and jump to the slope behind. Jump forward with a left curve to go over
the left slope and land on an ice platform behind the slope. Jump onto the ice
block at the west wall. Pick up Robert Schumann CD
for secret #3. Jump back to the platform.
Jump to grab the slope and shimmy to the right. Pull
up and slide down the slope with a right curve to grab the top of another slope
and shimmy to the left. Pull up, slide down and jump to the next slope with a
right curve. Jump up and grab the ceiling. Monkey swing to the south-east. This
may take a few guesses as to where to release from the ceiling. Drop on a
slope, jump to another slope and then jump to grab the top of a slope. Shimmy
to the right and pull up. Slide down and jump with a right curve to another
slope. Slide down and grab the edge and shimmy to the left. Pull up, back flip
and roll to land on another slope. Jump forward with a left curve to land on a
slope. Slide down and grab the edge. Pull up, back flip, roll and grab the edge
of an ice platform. Pull up to the flat platform and save the game. Jump to
south-east to another flat platform. Pull up to a west column. Jump and grab a
high non-ice platform to the west. Pull up to the platform. (Click

Face north and back flip to the south slope. Jump
forward to grab a north edge of a tunnel. You may have to jump between the
slopes a few times to make it. Go north and pick up an ethanol
bottle. This is nitro for the snowmobile. (Click here
fore a savegame 075.)
The ice wall in front of you disappears. Follow the tunnel again back to the
brown tile area. Climb the north wall to get back to the ice tunnel. At the
junction where you climbed the wall, go west and go back to get another torch
and light it. You may have to play with the three switches again and the fire
in the tunnel. Return to the junction and save the game. Throw the torch into
the pit. Carefully climb down the walls and drop onto the bottom of the pit.
Pick up the torch and bring it with you. Go west and follow the tunnel back to
the cave area. You can shoot two Yetis on the
way back.
Now you have the Gold Key and the nitro. You could now
return to the first level for a secret and a weapon. But I did that later at
the end of the game. The torch is needed for a secret. But the secret can be
obtained later. I decided to do it now and carried a torch.
Carefully drop the torch onto the ground and safety
drop after it. (Click here

Go west and carefully jump over the water with the torch. Open the door if you
did not do it before and enter the tunnel. Jump up a slope and see a wall
switch beside some spikes. To south and see a crawl space in the east wall.
Ignore it and go to the west wall. Use the ledge there to run and jump over the
slope to the south. Bring the torch and save the game. Follow the tunnel to a
pool of water but be careful of the spike traps in the floor. At the pool look
north and see some icicles above a platform. Light the icicles on fire and jump
back before they fall onto the platform.
Drop the torch and go to a new triangular opening in the south-west
comer. Pick up the Last levels of Timj CD for secret #4. Drop the torch and cross the water. You
see a closed door in the south wall. There is another closed door at the top of
the ramp in the north-east. Return back to the main cave area and the
snowmobile.
Install the ethanol (nitro) on the snowmobile. Use the
nitro and you can jump over the water stream just between the boxes at the edge
of the water. Drive through the door and up the ramp. Park the snowmobile near
the wall switch and save the game for a very sadistic timed run. This timed
wall switch opens the door at the top of the ramp that you saw after the last
secret. The first time you pull the wall switch you get a cut scene of the door
opening at the top of the ramp. I let the wall switch time out and on the
second pull there is no cut scene. Pull the switch, roll, and run off the
platform. Get on the snowmobile and drive to the south. There are many more
spike traps now than earlier when you were on foot. Follow the tracks to avoid
the first set of traps. After that, you just have to get lucky for the rest of
the spike traps. At the water pool, use the nitro and run up the slope at the
back wall. Curve to the left to land on a ledge on the other side of the water.
Drive to the left and use the nitro up the ramp to make the timed door. Save
the game a few times afterwards just in case. (Click here

Drive up the tunnel to the ice tunnel with the bluish
walls. Drive through two walls and run over a guard
for Uzi ammo. I did not make a jump over the
next gap. I jumped the gap on foot and picked up a small
medipack and two Uzi ammo. Slide down
the slope into the cave and shoot three guards.
Pick up Uzi ammo, large medipack, and a Metal Key from the dead bodies. (Click
here for a savegame 110.) You have
two choices now.
Choice 1: Go to the north-east corner and ignore the
key lock. Climb into an upper south opening. Jump north to grab another
opening. Follow the tunnel down and pick up a bottle
of Champagne and get a cut scene of a door opening. Go back the way you
came into the cave.
Choice 2: Go to the north-east corner and use the key
lock. The door opens in the west wall and three Yetis
attack. Shoot them and enter the open door. Pull down the wall switch to open
the door in the north wall. Enter the tunnel and climb a block. Pick up a bottle of Champagne and get a cut scene of a door
opening. Go back to the cave.
The slopes at the entrance have changed to flat areas.
Climb back out of the cave and jump back to the snowmobile. You can now exit
the game or return for the last secret.
Exit the game now:
Drive back down the tunnel to the timed door. The door
is now open so drive down the ramp and go south to the newly open door. Drive
through a tunnel to a house. Approach the front door and the door opens. Enter
the room and notice the huge birthday cake.
Use the switch in the north-west corner to open a door in the south
wall. Enter the door and notice the falling snowballs sign. Go back for the
snowmobile and drive it through the house and out that south door tunnel.
Outrun the snowballs and drive to west wall tunnel. Get off the snowmobile and
jump to the roof of a small building. Walk up to the skis and level ends.
Getting the last secret:
Get on the snowmobile and drive of the west ledge onto
the grid floor where you entered this level. If you drive off the east ledge
you catch fire and die. Use the nitro to jump to a ledge at the south wall. Use
the nitro again to drive up the ramp to the east and jump over a pit. The level
will change back to the first level.
Level 1
You land on a ledge. Follow the ledge to a tunnel.
Follow the tunnel to a gate that opens for you. You are back where you did the
jumps to get to the second level. Go to the right and make the jumps back to
the outside of the cave and get off the snowmobile. The jumps are easier now
that you have the nitro. Get off the snowmobile and go east into the trench
with the two snowballs. Continue and safety drop into the pit at the start of the
level. Pick up Uzi ammo if you did not get it
earlier. Use the Gold Key to open the door. Enter the room and pick up the grenade gun in the north-east corner. Go to the
north-west corner and pick up the Quest of Gold CD for
secret #5 from under the table. Exit the room
and go to the south wall to climb out of the pit. Jump the pit to the north and
return to the snowmobile. Drive back to the cave and make the same jumps as
earlier to return to the second level.
Level 2
You land on the grid floor again. Drive down the cave
to the water stream. Jump over the water and drive into the door in the west
wall again. This time you can take your time driving up the slopes with the
spikes. Jump the water stream as before and drive through the open door in the
south wall. Drive through a tunnel to a house. Approach the front door and the
door opens. Enter the room and notice the huge birthday cake. Use the switch in the north-west corner to
open a door in the south wall. Enter the door and notice the falling snowballs
sign. Go back for the snowmobile and drive it through the house and out that
south door tunnel. Outrun the snowballs and drive to west wall tunnel. Get off
the snowmobile and jump to the roof of a small building. Walk up to the skis
and level ends.
