Pemon's First Level

You start in a large open area. Notice closed doors in the east wall. Go north-east to the nearest tree and wait to shoot two scorpions. Stay there and wait to shoot a vulture. Run to the north-west corner and pull down a wall switch hidden in the corner. You get a cut scene of an underwater door opening. Go east and shoot another five scorpions. Continue to the north-east corner and shoot another two scorpions. Run over a green breakable tile behind some broken columns. The tile breaks to reveal a water hole. Dive into the water and swim down the underwater shaft. Follow the underwater tunnel and swim through the open door. Swim up into a small room and pick up a small medipack.

 

Go to the south-west corner and pull up into the crawl space in the south wall. Crawl through and climb out the other side. Do not drop but wait until you are in a climbing position. Back flip, roll, and grab a sloped column. Pull up and you can stand on the sloped column. Run and jump to grab the ledge to the south-east. Run and jump to grab the breakable ledge to the west. Shimmy to the left and pull up. Run and jump to land on the breakable ledge in the west corner. Run with a right curve and jump to land on the ledge to the north. Run and jump north to land on a sloped ledge. Pull up into the tunnel in the west wall. Follow the tunnel to the end and push in a moveable block in the north wall. Move the block onto the dark tile in the south-east corner. The wall torch ignites and you hear a door open.

 

Jump onto the block in the north-east corner and pick up the torch. Carefully jump to the south block under the torch and lit the torch. Get down and stand jump the blocks to reach the open door in the upper north-west corner. Exit out the door and back into the starting area. Go south and light the two wall torches to open the closed doors in the east wall. Enter the doors and light the wall torch on the back east wall. A trap door opens in the south-east corner to reveal a water hole. Drop the torch and dive into the water and follow the underwater tunnel. Evade the crocodile and pull open the underwater door at the end of the underwater tunnel. Swim into the pool and pull up anywhere. Turn around and shoot the crocodile. Swim back into the door entrance and swim into a side alcove for a small medipack and secret #1. Swim back to the pool and pull up onto any ledge.

 

You may see an item floating in the water in the north-east corner of the pool. But you cannot pick it up. Go to the north-east corner of the room and follow the tunnel. Enter a large room with a long set of stairs. Turn left and go to the north wall. Go just to the right of the dog statue and push in a moveable block in the north wall into a small room as far as possible. Enter the room and push the block again into an east tunnel. Pull up into an upper north tunnel. Pick up secret #2, two red shotgun shells and a shotgun. Go back to the small room and push the wall button on the west wall. Exit the room and go to the left side of the stairs for red shotgun shells. Go to the right side of the stairs and find a small medipack near the dog statue. Exit the room and return to the pool. A column has risen under the item so you can pick up the Hand of Orion (La mano de Orion) from the water. Return to the room with the stairs and shoot two dogs.

 

Go up the stairs and place the Hand of Orion. The door open in the east wall beside you. Go to the north-east corner and enter the north tunnel. When you reach the crawl space, turn around and hop back to get past a wall spike trap and slide down a hidden slope. Grab the edge and shimmy to the left. Climb the wall and pull up into an east tunnel. Run and jump into the tunnel to the west. Go to the end and time the fire emitter to crawl under the fire to pick up the shotgun. Use the reach-in switch and run back to the east and shoot a skeleton off the edge. Jump back to the east tunnel and go to the open door at the end. Ignore the crawl space for now. Follow the new tunnel to a T-junction. Go to the right and shoot a vase for a large medipack. Go to the left end and pull back a moveable block from the north wall and place it on to a dark floor tile. You get a cut scene of a block dropping in a crawl space. Go south and run and jump to a hidden slope again. Slide down and grab the end. Climb back up into the east tunnel.

 

Go to the end and get into the crawl space. Crawl to near the end and pick up a crowbar (Palanca) from the crawl space floor. Crawl back and enter the open door again. Follow the tunnel and get into the tunnel that was behind the moveable block. Use the crowbar to pry the Golden Star (Estrella de oro) from the wall. Exit and go back through the crawl space to get into the tunnel above the hidden slope. Go south into a room and exit back to the room with the stairs. Go to the lower south-east corner and place the Golden Star to open the door beside you. Enter the door and just follow the tunnel to the end. You emerge onto a balcony over an area with a building.

 

Go to the east side of the balcony and drop onto the roof of the building. Safety drop to the ground. Go to the north-east to the left of the building and find a shotgun in the bushes. Go to the south-east and use the wall switch to open the door in the alcove. You enter a room with a lava pool and ledges. Some of the ledges are spike traps as seen in the mirror at the north wall. Hop east onto the first safe ledge. Hop east onto a second safe ledge. Hop south onto the safe ledge to the left of Lara's picture. Go to the south-east corner. Grab the ceiling and monkey swing north to the end. Then monkey swing west to drop onto a safe ledge near some raised spikes. Run and jump over a spike trap to the ledge at the west wall. Use the floor lever and jump back to the east. The spikes have retracted. Go to that tile and pick up a single invisible Uzi. The Uzi can be seen in the mirror. You get a cut scene of a door opening on the upper balcony. Carefully jump back to the floor lever. Grab the ceiling and monkey swing south back to the room exit.

 

Exit the room and go north-west to the two trees. Stand on the south-west side of the far north tree. Face north-east and press CTRL to grab the tree. Climb the tree and back flip onto the west ledge. Go to the north-east balcony and enter the open door. Go to the end but do not slide down the slope. Instead, run and jump off the edge and grab the top of the slope to the west. Pull up, slide down a little and jump up to grab the ceiling. Monkey swing to the end and drop onto a ledge in an open doorway. You face a valley to the west. Drop into the valley and go west. Get to the area opposite the break that you see in the north wall. Stand jump up onto a flat tile on the south wall. The tiles where you can stand have a different texture than the sloped tiles. Stand jump to the upper south-west tile. Stand jump down to a lower west tile. Run and jump to grab the tile to the west. Pull up and stand jump onto the tile to the north. Run and jump to the north corner tile. Slide and jump over a slope to land onto another flat tile. Stand jump to the north-east to enter the break in the north wall.

 

Go forward and enter another small valley with a waterfalls and a water pool. Go to the north-east and enter the archway. You get a flyby of the area with a large lake. Ahead of you is a closed door. Remember this door for later. To the west is the large lake. Dive into the lake and then get out again. Shoot two crocodiles in the lake. Get back into the lake and swim to the north-east corner. You should find and pull down an underwater handle under an overhanging ledge near the east wall. Turn around and swim west and down to the lake bottom. A trap door has opened. Swim into the hole and follow the underwater tunnel. Pull up into another room.

 

Go east to a T-junction. Go to the left and pull down a wall switch. The door opens to your right. Enter the room and see many fire emitters. Go to the south fire emitter and you can stand jump over the lower fire emitter. Pull out a moveable block from the south wall and push it between the two east fire emitters. Hop onto the block to get over the fire emitters. Pull down the wall switch on the east wall. A door opens to the south. Enter the room and quickly pick up a small medipack. Shoot a dog and two ninjas. Hop onto the block at the east wall and pick up the Hand of Sirius (La mano de Sirius). Exit to the west and place the Hand of Sirius to open the door to your left. Enter the small room and shoot an empty vase. Pull down the wall switch on the west wall. Exit the room and go north to the wall switch again. The door is open to the left.

 

Enter the tunnel and pull up into a crawl space. Drop on the other side and hear the door close. Run to the end and pick up the Hand of Orion. The door opens around the corner. Two ice wraiths start to attack you. Use the east wall switch again to open the south door. Enter the room and go west to exit. Turn to the right and then left to dive into the water to extinguish the wraiths. Swim back through the tunnel and surface in the large lake again.

 

Swim to the south-east and pull up onto the ledge. You have to make a "banana" type jump around the column to get onto the ledge to the north. Pick up the crossbow. Jump to the next north edge. Jump into the next north corner ledge and pick up the laser sight. Jump back to the middle ledge. Use the crossbow and laser sight to shoot the green ball that is in the upper left corner of the waterfalls at the south wall. Get into the lake and swim to the south-east corner again. Pull up onto the ledge and go east to enter the open door in the north wall. Enter the room and shoot a vase. Pick up revolver ammo and exit the room to shoot a skeleton into the lake. Return to the room and shoot the corner vase. Pull down the wall switch and get a cut scene of a block dropping in a tunnel. Turn to your left and look for a jump switch on the south wall of the alcove. Pull down the jump switch and get a cut scene of a rock dropping and rolling into a tunnel.

 

Exit the room and get back into the lake. Now swim to the north and pull up onto the ledge under the archway. Go north and enter the tunnel to the right. Had you been here earlier, the tunnel would have been blocked. The rolling rock broke the wall. Run down the tunnel and jump over the rock in a hole. Go to the end of the tunnel and get into a lower crawl space. Follow the crawl space to the end and stand up in a small valley. To the south-east is a temple. Go there and use the Hand of Orion to open the double doors. Enter the doors and run into the room to end the level.
