You start in front of a closed door. Go south and
be careful of wall darts as you go through the corridors. You enter a dark room
with a closed gate in the south wall. Go to the north-east corner and use the
wall switch on the east wall to open the gate. Hop into the open gateway and
drop on the other side. Ignore the left and right side tunnels and go forward
to a three-way junction with second set of side tunnels. Go east and enter a
small room. Find Uzi ammo in the north-east
corner.
This is optional. Return to the three-way junction
and you can go west and follow the tunnel to a small room. Go to the north-west
corner and climb the north wall. Near the middle, back flip, roll, and grab an
upper ledge. Pull up and go east. You are in the room above. This is a large
area with many fire emitters. You can look around but I found nothing. Return
back to the three-way junction and continue south to a T-junction.
To the left is a room where you can see another
room and a closed gate through some crevices. But you cannot reach it. Go west
and crawl through the floor blades. The floor blades start as you enter the
room. Pick up Uzi ammo and an item (Laden) from the north-west corner floor. Go
south and exit the room. You are on a ledge and face a deep room with many
columns.
Choice 1: Go left and run and jump south-east to
grab the top of the second sloped column. Pull up, slide down and jump south to
a column at the east wall. When the fire emitter is off, stand jump south to
the lower ledge. Stand at the south corner to avoid the fire. When the fire
emitter stops, run and jump to the column to the south-west. Go south into the
dark tunnel.
Choice 2: Go right and run and jump to grab the top
of the column at the west wall. Pull up and stand jump east to grab the tall
column. You may have seen spikes there earlier but now you can pull up, as the
top is safe. Jump down to the column at
the east wall. When the fire emitter is off, stand jump south to the lower
ledge. Stand at the south corner to avoid the fire. When the fire emitter
stops, run and jump to the column to the south-west. Go south into the dark
tunnel.
Go to the end of the tunnel and go to the left
towards the room with the cages. Shoot three spiders
and pick up the single Uzi. Avoid the hanging
cages, as you can fall into the hole and into the deadly water below. There are
closed doors in the east wall. On the north side of the central column is a
climbable wall. Climb the wall and back flip into a tunnel. Go north and enter
a room with deadly water and a fire emitter. On both sides of the room are
cages. Climb the block in front of you. Be careful of wall darts and the fire
emitter and jump over the deadly water and onto the opposite block. Pull up
onto the block and pull down the wall switch. Quickly turn around and use LOOK
and you can see the cages fall and two spike balls roll into the deadly water.
Jump over the water and go down the tunnel. Climb down the wall back to the
room with the cages. The doors are open in the east wall.
Enter the east tunnel and jump over a low wall.
Shoot two natives that attack you. To the south
are closed gates. There is a receptacle to the left of the gates. Look north
and you can see a rope hanging from the ceiling. I did not find a use for the
rope. Go north and enter another tunnel. Jump over a spike trap in the shallow
floor depression. Continue north and jump another spike trap. Avoid the cages
at the north wall as the floor blades can hit you. Go to the north-west corner
and pull up into an opening in the west wall. You enter a large room. Pull down
the left wall switch on the north wall. You get a cut scene of two cages in the
room. The north cage drops and the south cage rises. Now pull down the right
wall switch. You get another cut scene of cages in the area above you.
Climb the south cage and run and jump to the north
cage. Follow the ledges to the east and jump over to the upper east wall
switch. Pull down the wall switch and cages rise behind you. Run and jump to
the north-west ledge. Stand jump to the south to grab the top of a cage. Pull
up and jump onto an east ledge. Go east and pull down the wall switch on the
east wall. Turn around and run off the ledge to the north-west and land on a
lower ledge. Safe drop to the floor and exit the room. The two cages are down
in the north wall. Walk near the opening to start the floor blades swinging. I
stood near the east blade and did a stand jump to the north-west to clear the
blades and the spike trap under them. Go north into a dark tunnel and a gate
opens.
There is a strange bug in the level at this point.
If you light the torch and drop the torch, the torch has no flame. If you save
the game and then reload, there is a fire at Lara's stomach. But saving while
holding the torch seems to be OK. The fire does no harm but cannot be
extinguished. You may not want to light the torch but use the flares. You will
get some more flare very soon.
Enter the gate and pick up a torch from the floor.
Light the torch on either lit wall torch. (Or not to avoid the bug.) Drop the
torch and use the light of the binoculars to look north. You can see a cave at
the north wall. Go north into a very
dark room and six fire emitters start on the floor. Go to the cave and turn to
the east. Slide down a small slope and run forward until you hit a wall. Turn
north and run forward until you hit a wall. Turn left and run forward and you
should fall into a hole. The torch is rather useless. It did not give much
light. But that may just on my PC. I saved the game and use the few flares to
see where to go. Then reload the save game and ran with the torch. Also the
binoculars are useless for light from now on. And flares have to be thrown in
order to give any light. You also have to evade two
mummies. In the hole, go north a little and drop the torch. Return south
a little and pick up a small medipack and flares from the floor.
You are in a dark maze. There are many mummies, small spiders,
spike traps, and dead ends in the maze. Enter the maze and turn to the right.
Run south until you hit a wall. Turn to the left and run east until you hit a
wall. There should be a floor grate beside you to the left. Do a left, right
and left over the grate and run west until you hit a wall. Hop back and turn
into a tunnel to your right. Run north and do a quick left and right turn. You
should see a blue light ahead of you at the end of the tunnel. Go there and go
east to enter a room with coffins. Pull up the wooden trap door in the floor.
Drop into the water and pull down an underwater lever on a block. Pull back up
through the trap door and into the room. Notice some fires have started on a
nearby block.
Pull down the two switches on the east ends of the
north-west and south-west coffins. Now pull down the switch on the central
coffin. Be careful of the fires behind you. The two gates in the east wall will
open. Enter either gate and another gate opens to the east. Enter this second
gate and it closes behind you. You enter a large room with many pedestals by
the walls. The pedestal have blade
traps and there are three mummies walking around
the floor area. Pull up onto the central structure and only pick up three small medipacks and the Manhara Key from the dead native. Face west and see a cage in
front of a ladder. When you pick up the blue Katal
Artefakt #1, the cage drops and two ice wraiths
attack.
Jump down and climb the ladder. Do not climb to the
top but just into the room above. Shimmy to the left and back flip. You should
land safely behind a slashing floor blade. Carefully jump onto the blocks to
avoid the blades. Go to the north-west corner and pull down a jump switch on
the west wall. A door opens above you and a cage rises back where you landed
from the ladder. Jump back and pull up onto the cage. Be careful, as there are
blades to the east ledge behind you. Run and jump to the west and grab the edge
of the open door. Run to the west wall and press a pushbutton on a wall that
looks like a door. Roll and go to the door. Run and jump back to the cage. Jump
to the ladder and climb to the bottom. Evade the mummies and run west to exit
the room. Return to the room with the coffins. Dive into the water at the trap
door to extinguish the wraiths.
Get out of the water and go back through the dark
maze. I threw flares for light. Pull up into the cave and exit back to the room
with the six fire emitters. Go south back to where you got the torch. Go east
and then south to jump over the floor blades and spike trap again. Go south and
jump over the two spike traps. Enter the cave again. Go to the south gates and
place the Manhara Key in the south-east receptacle. Enter the gates and go
south and pick up a small medipack from the
floor. Go east and enter a room with closed doors at the top of some stairs.
My three remaining flares now work again. Go south
and light a flare. Dive into a water hole in the floor. Follow the tunnel and
enter a small room. Swim down the hole in the floor and follow another
underwater tunnel. Swim into a long room. Swim into the crawl space at the far
end and pick up two Uzi ammo. Turn around and
swim back through the tunnels and rooms to surface in the room with the stairs
again.
Go to the north-east corner of the room and up some
other steps. On the top step, a door opens for you. Enter the door and go to
the north-west area to pick up a small medipack from
the floor. You can look north and see a room behind some bars. Return to the
door and go up the north steps. Face east and see a long room with several
ledges. Save before you slide down the slope and into the room. You will also
need full health for this. Do not slide down but run and jump into the room.
Jump back a bit from the door edge so you land on a ledge and not fall into a
hole. You land on a ledge and moving spike walls start at the side walls. Stand
jump to the next ledge and run and jump to the next ledges. On the last ledge
before the open doorway, use sprint and you should get past the spike walls
with large but non-fatal damage. Enter the doorway and the spike walls stop.
Shoot a native in the narrow corridor. Now you
can save again.
Go north and enter a small alcove just before a
large corridor and pick up a large medipack.
Continue north and see two closed doors. Go east and pass a Shiva statue. Just
follow the corridor around the corner and go to the end to see two closed
doors. Press the pushbutton between the doors and the two doors open. Enter the
room and the doors close behind you. Go to the gold pile in the middle of the
floor. Pick up a small medipack, two blue shotgun
shells, shotgun and Katal Artefakt #2.
Run to the south-west corner and pull down a jump switch on the south wall. The
doors open again. Exit the room with two skeletons on
your tail. Run back pass the Shiva statue and through the open doors in the
corner. Stop on the ledge before the pit and shoot the skeletons off the ledge
with the shotgun.
Run and jump to the nearest sloped column. Jump to
the left slope and slide down. Jump and grab a flat column and pull up. This
was actually a rather difficult jump. Stand jump to grab the flat column to the
north. Pull up and pick up a small medipack.
Run and jump to the south-west and jump over the sloped column. You should land
on a flat ledge that is behind the sloped column but is hidden from your view.
You could also jump to the north wall slope, slide down, and jump to grab that
same ledge. I found the blind jump easier. Run and jump to the west ledge. Then
run and jump to the north to grab another ledge. Check the location with the
binoculars before you jump. Pull up in front of a corridor with steps.
Run up the steps to the top. You cannot get through
the crawl space rubble ahead of you. To the left are the bars that you saw
earlier. Before the bars, look to the upper west wall for a regular crawl
space. Follow the crawl space to the end and drop down into the room on the
other side of the bars. Go south-east and exit the room. You are back in the
room with the closed doors at the top of the stairs. But now the doors are
open. Go up the stairs and enter the next room. The doors close behind you.
Go east and shoot two
poisonous mutants. It is possible to use a switch by the doors to opens
the doors again and exit the room. This will give you more room to move around
as the mutants follow you. Then run up the stairs and into the room. The door
will close and lock the mutants outside. Go to the dead native and pick up Katal Artefakt #3. Immediately two fire wraiths fly around you. Run off the ledge and
into the water to extinguish the wraiths. Pull up back onto the ledge near the
dead native. If you go east the two doors will open. But the way is blocked by
rubble. Look for a tunnel in the south wall oposite the dead native. Jump to a
cage in the water and pull up into the tunnel. A circular slicer starts in the
tunnel. Get through the circular slicer. I used a side jump to get through.
Then crawl down the tunnel to avoid the wall darts.
Follow the tunnel to a ledge overlooking a deep
pit. A gate closes behind you. Jump to the north-west ledge. Then jump down to
the north-east ledge. Run and jump to the north-east structure. Go east to the
end of the ledge. There is a jump switch on the east wall. Run and jump to pull
down the jump switch. Drop onto a slope and slide down. Then jump to grab the
south ledge. Pull up and go east through the open doors. Runs towards the jeep
in the snow and the level ends.
