Levelbase Advent Calendar 2008 - Lonely Christmas

[Note] The author included three savegames in the zip file. He does not mention them in his notes. They are in the hills with the snowmobile. I ignored them. [End note]


You start the level as Alice in the living room. The opening dialogue states that she is going to buy new shoes. Go west into the bedroom. Go left and pick up Alice's Key off the floor. Exit the room and go to the right and use the key to open the door. The door opens inward and pushes you back. Go out the door and onto a balcony. Follow the stairs down to the next floor and notice a closed door. Follow the stairs down to the bottom floor. Go behind the stairs to the north wall. Pick up Secret Ornament #1 for secret #1. Go up the stairs and use the key to open the door.

Step outside onto the snowy street. Go north and west and through the north archway. Notice a sewer cover as you enter the archway. Continue and go east to an old cannon near the shoe store. You get a cut scene and more dialogue. Go north and have a discussion with a woman about broken bells in the bell tower. Turn around and pick up the Sewer Key off the ground. It has magically appeared behind you.

Return to the archway and pull up the sewer cover. Drop in and follow the tunnel. Go pass a side tunnel that is blocked by a closed gate. Continue and use the sewer key in the receptacle on the west wall. A trap door opens above. Go there and pull up into the outside park. Pick up the crowbar between the two benches. Get back into the tunnel and return to the archway. Go east to the area with the woman. Use the crowbar to open the gate in the east fence. It may take a while. It worked on the third tine that I used CTRL.

Go east to the end of the street. Notice a coin receptacle on the north wall. Go south and pull open another sewer cover. You can climb down the east side sewer wall. If you fall into the water, a current carries you to the end. Go west about half way down the sewer ledge. Run and jump across the sewer. Pick up Secret Ornament #2 for secret #2. Run and jump back across the sewer and continue west to the end.

Look north and see a closed gate in the sewer. Go south up the steps and into a tunnel. Go forward and use the crowbar on the north side of the broken lever switch. You get a cut scene of the sewer. Go there and jump into the sewer. The current carries you east. Swim near the end and pull down the underwater lever on the south wall. Pull up and go back to reset the broken floor lever. You get another cut scene of the sewer. Go to the sewer and dive into the water. Swim north through the now open gate.

Pull up onto a ledge and climb the north wall. You pull up into a bell tower. Go to the south-east corner and save the game for a very hard timed run. Pull down the switch, turn to the right, and run up the dark steps. A flare is a little help. At the top, you need to run and jump to the east over a missing section. Run up south and then run and jump onto the timed trap door in the south-east corner. Roll and then run and jump to the north onto a ledge. Go to the end and pull the hard-to-see pull chain. You get a cut scene of Santa Claus and reindeer back at the archway.

Go south and the trap door rises so that you can jump back to the steps. Notice the ringing bell above your head. Watch for the gap and follow the steps to the bottom. Go to the north-east corner for the entrance. Climb down the wall again. Swim back to the sewer and pull up onto the south ledge. Go south again and pass the broken floor lever. Go to the end and pull down the switch on the wall to open the gate. Go west and north to pull up out of the sewer.

Go north towards Santa Claus. You get a cut scene where Santa Claus gives you a coin. Pick up the coin and go east through the gate back to the coin receptacle that you saw on the wall. Place the coin in the receptacle. Step back and pick up two tokens off the ground. Go east and place a token in the telescope. You get a cut scene of the snowy hills and a hay wagon. Now go west and through the open gate. Turn to the right towards the woman you first talked with. Place a token in the telescope beside her. You get a cut scene of snowy hills and see two items.

Return to Santa Claus and go north through the second archway. Use the crowbar to open the gate. Cross a bridge and go towards the snowmobile. First stand jump the snow hills to the north-east. Go behind the tree and pick up Santa's Lost Present #1 off the ground. Look north-west and see a block you can pull up onto. Stand jump north-west to a corner ledge. Follow the snowy ledge to the north-east. Then go north across a narrow snow ledge. You can see a tree and an item ahead of you. Follow the ledge and save often. You will see a deep pit to the east. There is one last hard jump to the north-west. Stand jump to the tree. Pick up Secret Ornament #3 for secret #3. Drop off to the south. Ignore any items on the ground for now and run south-west. Follow the trial to return to the snowmobile.

Get on the snowmobile and follow the trail. Go right through a small valley. Then turn left and drive north to a small tree. Get off the snowmobile and go east into a valley. Pick up Santa's Lost Present #2 off the ground. Return to the snowmobile.

Get on the snowmobile and follow the trail north and to the right. Stop on the first small mound and get off the snowmobile. Stand jump the snow hill to the south-east. Continue south-east to a tree. Stand jump to the other side of the tree and pick up Santa's Lost Present #3 off the ground. Return to the snowmobile.

Get on the snowmobile and follow the trail. Jump a deep pit to the east and drive south-west. Drive up a ramp and jump to the west over the deep pit again. Go south and you can see the town that you just left. Jump to the east over the deep pit again. Drive east up a hill and stop at the top. To the north is a snowy hill that is the exit route for later. Drive north-east into a small dead-end area. Get off the snowmobile and go east into a small alcove. Pick up Santa's Lost Present #4 off the ground. Return to the snowmobile.

Drive generally south over the snowy hills. You will find the hay wagon. Get off the snowmobile and go south-east into a dead-end valley. Pick up Secret Ornament #4 for secret #4. Return to the hay wagon. Place the presents in the hay wagon. There are four well-hidden receptacles. One receptacle between the two wheels. One receptacle behind the rear wheel. Two other receptacles are on the opposite side of the wagon.

Now to return to the town. Get on the snowmobile and drive north. On the small hill drive up the north slope. This bypasses the last jump that you cannot do in the reverse order. Drive over the middle jump to the west again. Drive south until you see a steep hill where there is no black section at the ground level. Drive west over that hill. Drive down the other side and you are back at the bridge. Get off the snowmobile and cross the bridge back into town. As you approach Santa Claus there is another cut scene. There is a dialogue that I could not make out.

There are some people with presents. There is a man without presents next to an open door. Go south and stand beside the man. There is another dialogue that I could not make out completely. His name is Mike. (I think my sound card is going bad). Enter the building that seems to be a small cafe. Go to the coffee machine at the back wall. Bend down and pick up a Cup of Coffee. Exit the cafe and stand in front of the man. Give him the coffee. There is a cut scene and more dialogue. Then the level ends.
