There's one efficient way of killing eels here:
1. Keep close to the walls.
2. When you need some space, let the eel come closer to you, then roll and backflip as many times as necessary to get to the other side of the room.
3. When the eel approaches, you can jump sideways 3 times to land close to the other wall. Then, do as indicated in the 2nd paragraph.
4. If your finger usually pressing "Action" is fast enough, I advise you to DEFINITELY switch targeting to manual.
WHY BACKFLIPPING?
If you wanna kill eel, you need to hit him in the head. Lara ducks a bit in certain point of the backflip animation. In this moment she's more likey to hit eel's head. So backflip while shooting whenever you can.


TEMPLE
Pick up 8 medipax. Advance several steps to activate 2 eels. Kill them, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

COLD/SNOWY
Kill 2 eels, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

JUNGLE
Kill 2 eels, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

CAVE
Kill 2 eels, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

EGYPT
Kill 2 eels, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

DEEP WATERS

CITY

SOUTH PACIFIC ISLANDS
Kill 2 eels, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

VOLCANO
Kill 2 eels, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

BASE/LAB
Kill 2 eels, according to the method described above. Pick up 2 pieces of a cartouche the animals have dropped. Combine them to make the key. Place it in the slot and exit.

TEMPLE AGAIN
Things change here. Kill 1 eel, according to the method described above. Try to perform the usual backflip sequence by jumping E and W only to keep yourself far from the N wall and avoid the jeep, as it may block you for certain priceless second. When the eel is dead, pick up the jeep keys the animal had dropped. Enter the vehicle and take a final ride.

CORRIDOR OF DEATH
Run over so many eels you can't count them. Drive out of the passage full of skulls, straight into among the clouds... There is an invisible junction ahead - turn left. Do it once again and fall into the pit. You're in heaven and this is The End Of Everything, so it must be the Omega pit. Wonder where the Alfa is and load next of Cain's levels to find out.
