Note:
These are TR5 levels and so have no compass. They work in Windows ME and in
Windows Home Vista, but for Windows XP there are very long load times. To solve
this for XP use a patched executable, xptomb5.exe, which can be found in the
file "Tomb Raider: The Wolf Whiplash," another TR5 level at
www.trle.net. Also I found that the game worked better in 16 bit color
resolution, rather than in 32 bit (24 bit really) color resolution.
Level 1 - Project BOD
Lara
drops down a shaft. In inventory select the HK gun in sniper mode. Use the Look
Key for a view through scope, and shoot the grating. Crawl through. There is a
crowbar door straight ahead, so climb the ladder. Go forward and crawl right.
At the room press the jump key (Alt) for Lara to flip into the room from the
crawlspace.
Go to the
shelves ahead and press Ctrl for Lara to search them and find the crowbar. To the right on the highest crate is a small medipack. Search the shelves by the entrance to
find HK ammo. Get back in the crawlspace―no
need to press the crouch key, Lara will pull up automatically. Go back to the
crowbar door and open it.
Go
through and find a rotating laser in the passageway. Lara can go left, timing
the lasers, and use the scope to shoot a grate. Crawl into the room, search the
shelves and find a small medipack. Return,
jumping up to follow the lasers, and continue to go left. Before stooping to
crawl, use the sniper gun to shoot the grating at the end. Then crawl forward
and pick up a large medipack. A guard may start
shooting at Lara as she exits.
Lara's
weapon in burst mode is not very effective against the guards as they are
wearing Kevlar bulletproof vests. Lara takes a lot of damage in a protracted
shootout. So the best way to handle the guards is to use the Look Key to aim
the rifle, and shoot the guard in the head: one shot should do it. Make sure
the railing doesn't get in the way, Lara can press against it. Go to the top of
the stairs and get the small medipack. Then go
down to where the guard was and pick up Agent
Smith's Card (this card will remain in Lara's possession). Search the
steel cabinet in the corner for HK ammo.
Use the
card in the slot beside the door, run through, and once more hone Lara's sniper
skills by taking out the guard with a head shot.
Use the
card again to open a door, go down the stairs, and use a third bullet on the
guard. At this rate Lara won't need much HK ammo.
Shoot the grating opposite the Cola machine. This is for later, as it leads to
an exit that requires two computer disks, which Lara needs to get. Use the
button to open the next room. The shelves are empty, but the switch opens a
grate on top of the crates. Get up there and crawl in. Left is a small medipack. Return straight. At the junction
there are deadly electrified wires to the right―Lara can jump by them,
but this doesn't gain anything as Lara needs something in the other direction.
So take
the safe route down the pole. Go by a big fan and throw a switch. Jump up. Drop
down a ladder, shoot the grate, crawl through and pull a switch. A grate opens
to Lara's right. But first turn left at the switch and jump up the ladder. In
the room above search shelves for HK ammo and large medipack.
Get back
down the ladder and crawl straight through, standing up as soon as Lara enters
the room. Here you have several choices since the two guards are sleeping. Lara
can run forward as normal, which will awaken the guards and both will jump up
and start shooting. Or Lara can walk forward (stealth mode) and the guards will
be oblivious to her presence, and she can search and exit, leaving them be. Or
since the guards are peacefully sleeping, Lara can use the sniper mode to shoot
them both in the head.
The steel
cabinet has HK ammo. In the drawers at the end
of the room is the first computer disc. To
the right of this is a switch, so use it.
Crawl
back out, left by the ladder, go straight to a hole and shimmy around it using
the slot to the side. That last switch opened the grating to the room ahead.
Flip into the room to get a quick camera shot: odd tiles in the ceiling hold
two automatic machine guns. Also two guards are walking the floor. From the
crate where Lara lands she should be able to shoot both of them.
If Lara
drops to the floor, or jumps to most of the crates, automatic machine guns pop
down from the ceiling, and Lara is in trouble. So take a running jump to the
crate with the tightrope, drop down on the far side of it, and throw the
switch. Look up to the left to see that a ceiling trapdoor has opened.
Get back
on the crate. (Lara may have trouble pulling up. If she steps back, shoulder
against the wall, and does a standing jump to grab the edge of the crate, she
can then pull up. Or else hop on the crate in the corner, and just do a
standing jump to the top of the higher crate.)
The
tightrope is wobbly, so it requires firm presses of the left and right keys to
maintain Lara's balance. At the other end turn around and do a jump and grab to
the center ceiling grates. Get Lara's feet on them, shimmy to the right around
the corner, and climb into the hole where the trapdoor was. Throw the switch to
open the grate.
Crawl
through and immediately stand up. There is a guard sleeping at his console.
Again, you can handle him by stealth, or put a bullet in his head. On top of
his console, by the monitor, is the second disc,
so pick that up. In the steel cabinet is a small
medipack. Just for fun, Lara can shoot the palm tree in the corner. It
is important for later to know that these can be shot.
Get out
on the climbable grate, shimmy left around the corner, and back flip to the
crate. Return over the wobbly tightrope. Make a running jump to the exit, and
crawl back to the ladders.
(The left
ladder is optional for HK ammo. Lara can just
take the right ladder and retrace her route.) Take the left ladder up, crawl to
the corner grate, find the button to its right, use it to open the grate. Flip
into the room. The small cabinet drawers have HK ammo.
A wall switch does something, perhaps closing that grate in the room with the
first computer disk. Exit the room.
Now Lara
has two choices. (1) She can go right: back to the ladder, then take the ladder
on the other side, return by that big fan, up the pole, crawl around right and
left and back to the starting room. (2) Or she can go left: up a ladder, time
the electrified wires (I stood on the right side, waited for first the red and
then the blue wire to swing left, then jumped). It depends whether you want to
jump by the live wires. See the pole ahead, crawl left and left.
Back in
the room, exit to the hall with the Cola machine and crawlspace to left. Go in
backwards, take the ladder down, use the two discs to open the door.
Get out
the sniper rifle, go through and shoot the guard. Use Agent Smith's card to
open the door. Get out the rifle again, there is a guard standing in the alcove
to the left. Lara can sidestep over and shoot him quickly.
Opposite
the entrance is a door that will open, and the small cabinet has HK ammo. Go back out.
Near the
entrance is a similar door (now on Lara's right) that takes a swipe card. Enter
and see all the goodies. This will be a quick haul. So run forward and...wait a
moment. There are two cartouches, the Timeless Sands, and a portal guardian. None
of them make any sense in this context. The only person that might grab them,
for whom these have meaning, is Lara. This is a trap. Try to grab the items and
the far door opens releasing a guard and a mechanized soldier firing blue
energy bolts.
Go left
and press the button to open the elevator doors. Now Lara is prepared for a
quick escape. Return to the entrance room, go across it and left to press a
button by a door. Enter and go straight to the next door, which opens on a
bathroom. There is a large medipack in the last
stall. Note the pool of water which will be useful. Exit and go right into a
long hallway.
Press the
first button. Get HK ammo from the small
cabinet drawers, while hearing the sound of footsteps. A guard enters so shoot
him. Continue down the hallway, taking the next door on the left. Get more HK ammo from a small cabinet. Continue down the
hallway to the last room on the right. Press button and go in. Search the steel
cabinet for a large medipack.
The
switch turns off some lasers (I think), so you need to use it, but what it does
immediately is call a cyborg. Save the game before using the switch. Select the
HK in inventory and put it into burst mode. At any time Lara has the option of
making a quick dash to the elevator to escape.
Repeatedly
shooting the cyborg seems to create a glitch in his AI, and he may start
walking into walls. (The original TR5 had problems with cyborgs.) So if you
want to dispatch him by the author's intended method, run to the bathroom
first, and try to lure him toward that pool of water. Lara shoots him, exposing
his metal leg. The cyborg enters the water and is electrocuted with blue
sparks. Now Lara can go to the elevator. Return the HK to sniper mode.
When
entering the elevator note the number to the left shows floor 4. Press the
button inside the elevator, make a rough descent. Approach the elevator doors
and they open onto floor 3.
Approach
the large door and it opens on a room with more booby-trapped artifacts, so don't
even go near them. Go straight across, press button, and enter a stairwell.
Lara can go up the stairs to get back to the fourth floor (pointless, as Lara
has already thrown the switch). Or Lara can jump down and get HK ammo, a small medipack
and a large medipack. To get back up do a jump
and grab straight up, shimmy to the right, and pull up onto the walkway.
Back in
the big room there is nothing on the overhead ledge that circles the room. Go
into the open doorway (the other door opens as Lara approaches). Find a
computer disc on the platform, and behind it
a small medipack. Go out and make a U-turn left
into the open door. There are deadly lasers to the right. Go down the hallway
in the other direction. Security cameras spot Lara, see the guard in the
doorway ahead. Don't enter the room but quickly shoot him from the hall with
the HK in sniper mode. For good measure shoot the grating behind him in the
room.
Turn and
notice a switch to open the floor grating. Don't bother. A crucial door is
still shut. Instead look for a damaged tile in the ceiling overhead: it is
really a trapdoor. Lara can jump up and pull it down, then jump, grab, and pull
into the ductwork. Follow, stand, and open a floor trapdoor. Drop into the room
and note the two buttons. Push only the left button. Go right and find a real
exit door, which the second button must open. Actually the second button only
releases an automatic machine gun which starts blasting Lara. (People who are
not following this walkthrough can become ill-tempered over things like this.)
Return
through the ductwork and drop down. Now throw the wall switch and enter the
crawlspace. Lara emerges in an elevator shaft with another tightrope to cross.
Try to concentrate on balancing while one of the elevators plunges down. On the
other side make a running jump and grab to the corner platform. Pull up into
the ductwork, note the red lasers to the left, then go right. Flip out into the
room. Search the shelves for a large medipack
and HK ammo. The door here opened when Lara
pressed the button.
Shoot the
guard in the next room. The steel cabinet has a small
medipack. Pull the wall switch. Nothing happens here, so go back and
check those lasers, which are now off. Continue crawling, and make sure the
exit is clear of a rotating laser before flipping out. Crouch to let the laser
pass, then go right (from the exit). Crawl through, get the large medipack, open the trapdoor in the floor. Drop
down and turn the wheel in the wall (once again there is no camera shot giving
you any idea what all this does).
Use the
crate to grab the higher crate, and shimmy right all the way around to the
opening. Crawl out. Jump to follow the first rotating laser, then crouch to let
it retreat overhead. Then run and jump over the second laser. Lara has plenty of medipacks, so a slight health loss doesn't matter.
Get through the crawlspace. Lara can't get any artifacts, but the triangular
door on the left is now open (this is what the wheel did).
Enter and
use the wall switch to shut off the lasers in the doorway and the hall. Go out
of the room and right, to the end, and finally get to use the computer disc.
Enter the room.
Wow! The
Book of Destiny. So run toward it...Not so fast. First shoot the grate by that
large vase. Now quickly grab the Book of Destiny.
Run to the now open crawlspace, get in and escape before that mechanized
soldier starts throwing blue energy bolts. Slide down into the next level.
Level 2 - Escape From the Museum
Lara
needs to select the HK from inventory again. Use it to shoot the two guards
that are firing at her. Jump down.
In this
large room Lara can shoot the high and low grating, and use the swipe card to
open a door. Note that there is also a terminal that requires a disc. First go
to the low crawlspace in the corner and go in. Go right at the junction and
down the ladder. Open the crowbar door. Continue and drop into the room. In one
corner is HK ammo, in another is a small medipack. Jump back into the ductwork, take the
ladder up, and crawl straight toward that mechanized soldier with the energy
bolts.
CRAWL by
him into the room. He will stamp his feet and follow behind, firing harmlessly
over Lara's back. If he is separated from Lara, or if she stops, he can crouch
down and blast her, so simply because Lara is crawling does not mean she is
absolutely safe. Head to the crawlspace on the left.
Go in,
stand, and go left to push an object back. Now push the shelving back also.
Lara enters a SECRET room to get HK ammo and a small medipack
from the shelves, the small chest in the corner has a large
medipack. Go out of this room and straight across, down the crawlspace
to get a large medipack and HK ammo. Now return to where that mechanized soldier
is stamping loudly. Keep clear of him as Lara crawls out, or she may get
snagged.
Crawl
across to the other side of the room, angling right into another crawlspace.
When Lara can stand up, go to the end and shoot the grating, get into the
hallway. There is an automatic machine gun in the ceiling to Lara's right. It
will be activated when Lara passes through the green laser. So run quickly
through and around the corner. Use the swipe card on the door.
In the
room go left and press the button. Get a small
medipack from the cabinet drawers; there is nothing in the display case.
Go back out and to the far left corner of the room, look up to spot the
trapdoor in the ceiling. Stand facing the phony door in the wall, jump up and
pull the trapdoor down. Turn to the right, and standing under the right edge of
the duct, jump up and grab, pull up to get a large
medipack. Turn around and notice that the other side of the ductwork is
blocked by red lasers.
Drop
down. Find the pair of palm trees together and shoot them both. It may not be
apparent, since Lara has no flares, but in the alcove behind them is a
triangular crawlspace at floor level on the left. Get in backwards and throw
the switch to turn off those red lasers. Return to the ceiling trapdoor, and
this time pull up on the opposite side, Lara standing at the leftmost edge or
the floor won't be high enough.
In the
ductwork open the trapdoor and drop into the room. The display case has HK ammo. Throw the switch and for once see that it
opens a crawlspace for later.
Use the
ductwork to get back out, and return through the rooms to the outer hallway.
Remember the machine gun. Lara will need to dash to the floor-level exit,
crouch, and flip into it while taking damage. Feed a medipack as needed.
Crawl out
by the mechanized soldier and take a short left to return to the original
crawlspace. Make a right and return to the blue room. Lara still doesn't have
the disc for the terminal. She can tightrope walk, but a crawlspace grate is
still closed in the rooms above. So go to the door opened by the swipe card.
Enter and
see doors and switches. For now Lara goes around the central pillar and looks
up to spot an opening. Climb the pillar and get off to the right, crawl to get
the HK ammo. Crawl back, and this time jump
into the hole in the wall. Because of the order in which Lara has done things,
the grating is open, so crawl through and throw the switch. Get all the way
down and return to the blue room.
Now Lara
can use the tightrope. Again use a firm press for
the left and right arrow keys to balance Lara. Enter the crawlspace. There is
nothing at the first junction, so continue straight to the hallway. Stand and
shoot the guard on the left, there is a small medipack
where he was. Shoot the grating, back in, and
get the large medipack. (Lara can look through
the grill to the second blue room. Those with sharp eyes will spot the crawlspace
that Lara opened with the switch back where she shot the pair of palm trees.
But there is still much to do.)
Get back
out. The hallway door with an Archive sign opens as Lara approaches.
Enter and go left, hugging the wall, to find a crawlspace: Lara opened this
with the switch after she climbed the pillar. Search the shelves for HK ammo, small and large medipacks. The ceiling fluorescent light bulb
needs to be replaced.
Get back
to the main archive room. There doesn't seem to be anything here, but a small
room opposite the entrance has a guard and HK ammo
in a drawer.
Time to
get back to the blue room. Jump down, go back to that pillar that Lara climbed.
Now find the two switches and throw them. A crawlspace and a door open. Shoot
the guard in the doorway, go inside to get a large
medipack, and from the shelves HK ammo.
Exit and take the crawlspace on the left.
Look over
the large room, the entire thing seems to be laser traps. So take a step back,
jump up and grab the monkey swing. Take the meandering route across the room,
on the other side follow in, and get the large
medipack to the left. Save the game.
Jump up
when the lasers pull away and be careful, the pit in front of Lara is deadly.
Lara has to jump the pit and the lasers. She will probably take damage, but by
this time Lara has plenty of medipacks so
there is no sense trying for perfection. Shoot the grating and crawl through.
Pause in the hallway. To the right are impassable lasers. To the left is a room
with a guard in front of a security camera monitor. No need to say
"hello"; use the sniper rifle to shoot him in the back of the head.
(If Lara enters that room and draws weapon an automatic machine gun pops down
from the ceiling and blasts her before she can fire a shot.) Shoulder the HK
before approaching the room.
The
display case has HK ammo. Note the changing
view on the security camera monitor. In the other corner, on the back of the
console is a disc, so grab it. Now retrace
the route all the way back to the blue room.
Put the
disc into the terminal to open the doors. The two guards inside are just
getting to their feet, so shoot fast to dispose of them. This seems to be
getting easier since Lara doesn't even take any damage. That done, the first
thing Lara sees is the far computer terminal, and that she needs another disc.
In the far left corner, hidden by crates, is a small
medipack. Near it in the wall is the crawlspace that Lara previously
opened. Get inside.
Crawl
left and right. Keep going until Lara can stand, then turn around and shoot the
grating that Lara just crawled past (leave for later) and turn and shoot the
grating to exit. In the next room Lara is on the other side of the lasers from where
she was before. Shoot the grating and continue to crawl. You may want to top up
Lara's health if it is low. In the next room immediately stand and take care of
the two guards on the right that are firing at Lara.
In the
far corners of the room where the guards were are HK
ammo and a large medipack. At the other
end of the room shoot the grating and crawl through. Ahead see a display case.
Once Lara steps into the open area someone or something starts shooting at her,
and if she tarries an automatic machine gun starts up. Because of the fixed
camera it isn't clear what is going on. Anyway, line Lara up on the display
case, run directly to it, get the disc, roll
and run back. Since Lara seems to be safe when standing at the display case it
is possible to do this without provoking any gunfire.
Crawl
through, and take the next crawlspace back. In this room enter the next
crawlspace, and remember that Lara opened up a crawlspace that is now on the
left. Make a detour into that to pick up HK ammo
and a large medipack. Then continue on to get
back to the second blue room.
Use the
disc and doors open and music starts to play. Run down the slope, and see a
level change saying "In France, 1985."
Level 3 - "Old Times" France 1985
Now we
take a break to play as young Lara, losing all the hundreds of medipacks that we accumulated. There are some
rather dark corners here considering that Lara has no flares. Eventually it
becomes clear that there is a door, a keyhole, and a fireplace. Climb down in
the fireplace.
Go to the
left to get a large medipack. Then continue
down the shaft to the bottom and crawl out. Young Lara fixates on the golden key, so get it. Climb back up and use the
key in the keyhole to open the door. Exit down the stairs and into the house.
Turn left.
Make
three rights to get into another hallway. There are blue doors on the right.
Push them open to get a SECRET: large and small medipacks.
Remember this secret, because Lara must come back here when forced to play this
entire house level again (yeah, that's what I thought, too).
In the
hall, go left and up the short steps and keep going in a straight line until
Lara runs into the wall. Now to Lara's right, in the corner, is a crowbar door.
Impossible to find without a flare, but now you know where it is, so remember
that, too. Shift Lara right against the door and press Ctrl and Lara will say
sharply, "No!"
Out on
the balcony there is a second golden key.
There is nothing in the bathroom, so go down the short stairs and then the big
stairs to the ground floor. First let's look around downstairs. Go right, push
the button to open the door, and go outside and right, down toward the end
wall. At the corner of the house find a tile with finer texturing―the
border with the grass is different. This is a trapdoor, and will be the object
of a timed run.
Re-enter
the house and go right into the first room. At the end of this room is a door,
and to the left of it is a receptacle for an object, so take note of it. Now go out of this room and right. To the right is a
hallway which just leads to closed doors for now. To the left is a keyhole for
the key that Lara has. Use it.
Standing
in the doorway, spot the door and keyhole to the left. For now go straight
through and right. Cross over the short steps to find a golden key lying by the far wall. Pick it up and return to the
keyhole that you just saw. Run around the kitchen to press the button. It opens
the door where Lara picked up the key. Go back there and outside to a pool.
Dive in,
swim into the hole in the far left corner, follow and pick up small and large medipacks
at the same spot. (Remember this as a Gate Star will be here on replay.) Go
straight up to surface, pull out and use the wall lever. Swim back, get out of
the pool, and go through the opening in the glass wall, down steps to a
courtyard. Go to the far right corner to find another wall lever. This is for a
timed run back to that trapdoor that Lara discovered earlier.
Save the
game. Use the wall lever. Do a back flip/twist―Lara can do this even
while the screenshot of the open trapdoor is showing. Dash back to the door
Lara came out of, inside and left, run through the room and doorway, run and
turn right to go out the door, once outside turn right and dash to the open
trapdoor and run into it. Alert! Pause here, and
wait for the overhead trapdoor to close. This insures that the triggers are set
properly, so the trapdoor will open again permitting Lara to exit; otherwise
there may be a problem. You probably made the timed run so quickly that this is
a tedious wait, but be patient.
When the
trapdoor closes proceed forward, crawling. As Lara crawls there is sound which
is probably the trapdoor opening again. Flip out into a pool. Hear the sound of
a mob of excited rats. There is a doorway on one side of the pool where Lara
can pick up a small medipack. Dive to the
bottom of the pool, swim into a crawlspace and through to surface, get a large medipack and the crowbar.
Return to the pool and climb out in the wide passageway. (The rats have
scampered off for some reason.) At the end of the passage use the wall lever to
the left. Back at the pool, Lara can do a running jump and grab to pull back up
into the crawlspace to exit.
Climb the
ladder and go back into the house, retrace Lara's previous route. But when Lara
goes outdoors at the big pool make a turn to the right and go up the steps.
Continue until Lara finds the open wood door and the Golden
Symbol. Go back into the house. Remember that near the other outside
door there is a room with door and a receptacle. Go there and place the Golden
Symbol. The door opens to some small rooms.
This is
actually the exit, but Lara needs to open the door on the right. From the entryway
make a U-turn around to the left to find the jump switch in the corner. You
might think that this would open the exit door. Actually it opens a gate in the
courtyard.
Go back
to the outside pool, and go through the opening in the glass wall. From the
steps here notice that straight ahead there is now an open door, and Lara will
go there next. For now make a left onto a stone
walkway among grass, and then a right toward the open gate. Inside find large and small medipacks.
Go out of
this gated area and make a couple of lefts to enter the open doorway you saw.
Almost straight across is a door leading to a wine cellar. Down the stairs and
left, between the barrels Lara will find a small
medipack. On the other side of the room among the shelves is a large medipack. (Remember this area, as in the corner
here Lara will get a shotgun in level 5.)
Go back
up the cellar steps and left. None of this excursion has helped Lara to open
the exit door. At this point, without a walkthrough, you might think there was
no exit. But remember that crowbar door.
Go up the
steps to the upper floor, make a U-turn left, climb the short steps, and go to
the far right corner of this room to open the crowbar door. Press the button.
Music signals a conclusion. Yes, Lara has now opened the exit door. So back
downstairs and into the room opened by the Golden Symbol. The door to the right
is open. Step through and the level changes.
Level 4 - In France - Present Day
Well,
this is a surprise. Lara seems to have magically retained all the medipacks and the crowbar from when she was young.
Perhaps she stashed them away in the interval and has only lately retrieved
them.
From the
starting point Lara wants to make a U-turn around to the right. (If you do some
exploring first, shoot the dog with pistols.) Turn Lara's back to the slope,
back flip, jump and grab the upper ledge. Pull up. Walk across the tightrope―Lara
seems to be getting better at this. At the end of the walkway jump down into
the room. Shoot the box and get the key.
Get back
on the mound of coal and jump back to the walkway. Go back to the tightrope
room and drop down to shoot the boxes to get regular shotgun
ammo. On the other side of the room climb the mound to pull up and out
of the opening. Outside, drop to the ground.
Go
straight across to use the key on the left to open a wooden gate. There is a small medipack to the left as Lara enters. Push open
the blue doors. Shoot the dog. Jump up to find the revolver.
In the other corner (the far left corner from the entrance) is a crowbar door,
open it to get a key.
Take it
out and right to use on the second keyhole; the metal bars slide up. Enter and
shoot a dog, then go immediately right to get wideshot shotgun
ammo in the corner. Further in, go down the stairs on the left, draw
pistols and crouch to shoot the lock. (Lara was probably supposed to use the
revolver and laser sight, but that isn't necessary.)
Come back
up the stairs, around to the left, climb stairs and shoot a window to enter the
building. Shoot another window to get shotgun ammo.
Back inside find the laser sight. Drop down
in the chapel to get blue wideshot ammo, then
do a straight jump up and grab to get out.
Go back
to where Lara shot the lock and enter. Shoot another pesky dog. (Better save
revolver ammo for tough opponents later. Remember Lara has plenty of medipacks, so using them occasionally doesn't
matter.) Use the wall lever to the left of the entrance to open an adjacent
door. A small alley opposite the entrance has a large
medipack. There is an opening in the pool to swim through, but for now
the underwater fan keeps Lara from swimming down to it.
Go into
the opened door and tightrope walk. Go right and jump down and right to get the
shotgun ammo. Get back up and monkey swing over
the hot pool. Go right and shot the lock on the gate. Again use pistols: as
Lara crouches she will shoot the lock. Go into the room and turn the wheel to
stop that underwater fan in that pool. So return there and dive in.
Swim
through the uneven channel. In the room where Lara pulls out, use the crowbar
to get the Silver Coin. The door opens
automatically so go down the slide. At the bottom pick up the shotgun.
In this
room notices the ominous giant gladiator statue. First pick up the large medipack in the corner, then place the silver
coin in the receptacle. The gladiator comes alive and he is a much tougher
opponent than in TR4. Use the shotgun, try to get in close when he is raising
the sword. Conserve as much ammo as possible for a later battle. Keep shooting
with the shotgun until he falls. Get the golden key
he drops.
Use the
golden key to open the metal bars and slide down. In this small room pull out the
push block in the far right corner twice, and then pull it to one side. Now
pull out the next block until it is beside the first block.
Go in and
push the block in the far right corner forward once to get it out of the way.
Pull out the block to the left once, then pull it to the side toward the
entrance once. Go into the slot where it was and find and pull the chain.
Return to the small room where the gate is open.
Do a
running jump and grab to the rope. Swivel Lara to the right, swing, and jump
into that alcove, go forward to find shotgun ammo.
Now jump back to the same rope, turn Lara forward again, and jump to the next
rope and on to safety.
Pull the
ropes in the alcoves to the right and left to open the gate in front. Go
through and pick up the Goldstone Piece. The
gate opens when Lara approaches it. Slide down and look in the pit in front for
a large medipack and shotgun
ammo. Better save the game.
In the
next room find that this time Lara has to battle two gladiators. Lara should
have revolver ammo, wideshot and regular shotgun
ammo, and will probably use just about all of it, as well as many large medipacks into the bargain. On the blocks by
the wooden exit door of this room is a large medipack,
but more importantly there is blue wideshot shotgun
ammo. Try to get that before the battle starts, so Lara will have an
uninterrupted flow of wideshot ammo.
(The
level is about to end after this decisive battle. When it does Lara will lose
her ammo and medipacks, so don't try to
conserve anything for later, as there is no later. Use what Lara has now, when
she needs it.)
When the
second gladiator falls he leaves a golden key.
Use it in the keyhole to get to a second Goldstone
Piece. Combine the two pieces. Use the Goldstone in the receptacle to
the right of the wooden exit door. Climb the ladder up. Use the switch to the
right and the level ends.
Level 5 - Shadow's Hideout
It may
take a moment to recognize this place. Lara is back in the house of Level 3. This is where young Lara came after the timed run to
the trapdoor. Essentially Lara is starting the game from scratch with the
customary inventory items (3 flares, 3 small
medipacks, 1 large medipack, pistols).
So throw the wall lever to the right.
Go
forward to the pool, jump to the right to get a small
medipack. Dive into the pool and swim to the bottom crawlspace, swim
through to get a large medipack, shotgun ammo, and the crowbar.
Get back, and make a running jump and grab to the exit crawlspace. Crawl
forward, and go up the ladder through the open trapdoor. This level is almost
identical to Level 3. The main differences are that there are now dogs to
fight, and there is a battle at the end. If Lara visits all the sites and
secrets she did when young she will find the needed two Gate Stars and the
shotgun, so a walkthrough isn't too important at this point.
Turn
around and shoot the dog. Go push the button to open the door and go into the
house. Shoot another dog. Lara may as well follow the same path as when she was
young. Go up the stairs, at the top angle to the left and into the hallway,
open the blue doors where young Lara got a secret. This time get a Gate Star and shotgun
ammo.
Go out
and left and up the short stairs. The golden key
is once more out on the balcony. But this time Lara already has the crowbar and
can open that crowbar door in the corner and push the button for the exit.
Go
downstairs and circle around to the left to use the key in the keyhole. Enter,
go to the right to find the next key in the
same spot as before. Come back to the previous room and use it in the keyhole.
Go into the kitchen and push the button. Now go back to where the second key
was and out the door to the big pool.
Dive in
and swim into the hole. This time find a Gate Star
where young Lara got medipacks. Surface over
this spot, get out and pull the wall lever. Swim back and exit the pool. Lara
can go immediately up the adjacent steps (in effect she has already completed
the timed run) and to the open wooden gate to get the Golden
Symbol.
Go down,
and go through the opening in the glass wall. If Lara looks to the left the
wooden gate is closed. Shoot the dog. Go to the open door opposite the steps,
angle right and go down to the wine cellar. At the bottom of the steps go right
(this time there is nothing to the left). The shelves have a large medipack, and in the corner find the shotgun lying on the ground.
Go up and
to that room that has the receptacle for the Golden Symbol. You should
remember. It opens to some small rooms. The exit door to the right is already
open, but make a U-turn around to the left. Use the jump switch to open the
wooden gate in the courtyard. If Lara goes back there, and inside the gate, she
finds a large medipack and shotgun ammo. Considering what is ahead, the shotgun ammo is nice to have. Go back to the
room with the jump switch, but now go right.
This time
there is no level change. Instead Lara goes down, slides in a one-way passage,
landing right before three vicious snakelike things. Side flip right to get
behind the wall for protection before they set Lara on fire.
The
corners of the room have some goodies. To the right is shotgun
ammo. In the corners to the left are a large
medipack and shotgun ammo. When Lara has
everything consider what to do. I had Lara hide on the side, then run around
the corner to get up close, fire the shotgun several times, then flip back and
to the side to safety. This worked, leaving shotgun
ammo to spare. By firing from the side, each shoot may damage more than one
of the serpent things.
Once the
commotion is over use the two Gate Keys to open the gate. Go forward and get
the richly deserved Book of Destiny. Run
toward the opening and the game ends. Watch the credits for these entertaining
levels.

TR5 - THE BOOK OF DESTINY by LARACROFT91
Walkthrough by Harry Laudie

Level 1: Project BOD
You start by falling down a
shaft in an air duct. Use the HK gun with sniper mode to shoot the grate in the
lower air duct. Crawl through and stand up to see a closed grate. Climb the
ladder above you and pull up into another air duct. Go forward and enter a
crawl space in the lower right wall. Drop into the room at the end. Search the
two shelves for the crowbar and HK ammo. Climb onto the corner box to pick up a small medipack. Return through the crawl space and
drop down. Use the crowbar to open the grate. Enter the next air duct. Be
careful of the moving laser and go to the upper left air duct. Drop at the end
and shoot another lower grate. Crawl into the room. Search the shelves and get
a small medipack. Exit and be careful of the
laser again.
Go to the end of the air
duct and turn left. Shoot the grate at the far end of the crawl space. Enter
the crawl space and pick up a large medipack. Drop
into the room and shoot a guard and pick up Agent Smith's Card. Be careful where you shoot the
guard. If the guard is in the corner of the stairs, his body and the card will
appear in the crawl space air duct. Follow the steps up to the balcony and pick
up a small medipack in the far corner. Go down
the steps and search the cabinet in the corner under the steps. You should find
HK ammo. Use the card in the card reader to
open the glass door in the room.
Follow the corridor and
turn to the right to stop at a corner. Use the HK gun sniper mode to shoot the guard in the head, as he looks the other way. If you
just run into the corridor and shoot, the guard shoots back and causes heavy
damage. Use headshots on the guards when it is possible. It will save your ammo
and health. Use the card in the card reader to open another door. Enter and go
down the steps. A door opens for you. Enter the door and shoot a guard. He is walking so you cannot sneak up on him. Follow
the short corridor and see a grate in the lower wall. That is for later. Press
the pushbutton to open the door beside it. Enter the room and the shelf is
empty. Pull down the switch near the door. The grate opens in the corner on top
of the boxes. Pull up onto the box and enter a crawl space.
Go forward to a T-junction.
Go left and pick up a small medipack. Turn
around and go straight to another T-junction. To the right are deadly
electrical wires. Go left and stand up. Grab a pole and slide to the bottom. Go
through another lower crawl space. Stand up near a large fan. Go forward and
pull down the switch on the left wall. You hear a door open. Go to your right
and hop into the tunnel. Get into a crawl space and climb down a ladder.
Shoot a lower grate and get
into the crawl space. Crawl and stand up to pull down a switch. You get a cut
scene of a raising grate and a sleeping guard. Follow the crawl space and stand
up in the room. Shoot two guards with the sniper
mode again. Search the cabinets for HK ammo. Search
the drawers at the far wall and pick up disc #1.
Go to the windows and pull down the switch from the cut scene. Crawl back to
the switch in the crawl space. Climb a ladder into a small room. Search the
shelves for HK ammo and a large medipack. Get down and return to the bottom of
the tall ladders.
Enter the opposite crawl
space. Drop into a hole and shimmy around to the right and pull up. Continue
and emerge overlooking a storeroom. Drop onto a box and get a flyby of the
room. Shoot two guards with the sniper mode
again before they see you. Do not drop to the floor or ceiling sentry guns
shoot at you. Run and jump to the box with a tightrope wire. Drop on the other
side and pull down a switch. A trap door opens in the ceiling. Jump back onto
the box and walk the tightrope to the other end. Turn around and jump up to
grab the upper grate structure. Get into the climbing position. Shimmy around
to the right and pull up into the open trap door. Pull down the switch on the
wall. A grate opens in the crawl space. Crawl into the room and shoot a
sleeping guard. Stand in front of the desk near
the tree and pick up disc #2. Go to the far corner of the room and search
the cabinet for a small medipack.
Exit the room and grab the
wall by the trap door. Shimmy to the left and around the corner. Back flip onto
the box with the tight rope. Walk back across the tight rope to the other box. Run
and jump onto the corner box and get into the crawl space. Crawl through and shimmy around the hole
again. Return to the bottom of the tall ladders.
Stand up and climb the
ladder on the left wall. Just follow the crawl space and turn to the right at
he end. Crawl pass a grate and stand up. Press the pushbutton on the wall to
open the grate. Drop into the room. Sneak around the corner and shoot a guard. Open the drawers at the far wall for HK ammo. Pull down a wall switch and get back into
the crawl space. If you continue in the crawl space, you are on the opposite
side of the deadly electrical wires. Return back in the crawl space and climb
down the ladder again.
Climb the entrance ladder
and go back pass the fan and climb the pole. Back flip into the air duct and
return to the room where you entered. Exit the room and shoot the grate in the
lower wall that you passed earlier. Get into the crawl space and climb down a
ladder. Go through another crawl space and enter a room with two disc readers. Place
the two discs in the two disc readers and the door opens. Wait until a guard
appears. Shoot the guard and pick up a small medipack.
Enter the corridor and use
the card in the card reader to open the door. Enter the room and the door
closes behind you. Quickly turn to the left and shoot a guard. Ignore the nearby card reader for now. Go to the far wall
and a door opens for you. Search the drawers in the room for HK ammo. Exit and go to the left corner of the room. Press
a pushbutton to open a door. Enter and go through the room and into a corridor.
A door opens as you approach. Enter the washroom and open the doors to the
toilet stalls. The stall near the back corner contains a large medipack. Notice the water trench on the floor
as well. Return to the small room.
Go to the right and the
door opens for you. Enter the corridor and press the pushbutton to open a door
in the alcove. Enter the open door and wait to shoot a guard
in the corridor as he walks to the open door. Search the drawers in the room
for HK ammo. Exit and continue down the
corridor. Go left into a side corridor. Enter a room and go behind a glass
partition. Search the drawers for HK ammo. Return
to the corridor and press the second pushbutton to open a door in the end
alcove. Enter the room and search the back wall corner cabinet for a large medipack. Pull down a switch on the wall
opposite the window.
Run out of the room and a robot shoots at you. Lead the robot back into the
water trench in the washroom. Shoot the legs of the robot until you see metal. Then
wait while the robot short circuits in the water trench. This is not as easy as
it seems, as the robot shoots at you. It also gets out of the water so you have
to lure it back a few times. You may be able to just run away and ignore it. Exit
and return to the room with the card reader. Use the card in the card reader to
open the door.
You enter a room with many
items on pedestals. Do not get near any items. If you do, ceiling sentry guns
and guards appear. Go left to an elevator and press the button to open the
door. You are on floor #4. Enter the elevator and the door closes. Press the
buttons on the wall and the elevator moves like an earthquake. Go to the doors
and the doors open. You are floor #3. Go to the door in the corner and the door
opens for you.
You enter another room with
items on pedestal. Avoid the items again or guards and sentry guns appear. Go
up the steps to search the upper balcony for HK ammo
and a small medipack. Then go down the steps to
return to the entrance door. Go straight across the room to the other corner. The
door opens as you approach. Press a pushbutton to open the next door. Enter the
door and drop into the room below. Search the room and find a large medipack in a side corridor. Pick up a small medipack and HK ammo
from the boxes. Pull up out of the room. You can run up the steps to open a
door back to floor #4. Return back to the earlier room and go to the far right
corner into a room with a metal floor.
Hop onto a caged platform
and pick up a disc. Go behind the caged
platform and pick up a small medipack. Exit the
room and a door opens to your left. Exit out that door and into another
corridor. To your right are red lasers. Go left into the corridor. Go up a
small ramp and get a flyby showing a guard behind red lasers. Go to the end of
the corridor and shoot the guard. Pull down the
wall switch on the wall and open the grate beside you. Do not enter the crawl space yet. Look up to
the ceiling in the corridor. You should see a ceiling tile with cracks on it. Pull
down that ceiling tile and pull up into an air duct. Follow the air duct and
pull up a trap door. You drop into a small room. Press only the left pushbutton on the console. The right push
button starts a ceiling sentry gun. Crawl back out of the room.
Go through the crawl space
and enter an elevator shaft. Cross the tight rope while an elevator car falls
and crashes to the bottom. Run and jump onto a corner ledge and pull up into a
crawl space. The left route is blocked by red lasers. Take the right branch
tunnel. Drop into a small room and search the shelves for a large medipack and HK ammo.
Exit out the open door in the corner. Enter the room and shoot a guard. Search a corner cabinet for a small medipack. Pull down the wall switch and return
to the earlier room. Return through the air duct and the red lasers are off. Follow
the air duct to a tunnel with moving red lasers.
When it is safe, drop into
the tunnel and go to the right. Drop into a hole and go through a lower crawl
space. Follow the crawl space to the end and pick up a large
medipack. Go back a little and pull open a trap door on the floor. Drop
into a room and turn a wheel on the corner wall. Pull up onto a box and shimmy
to the right round the corners to return to the tunnel. Go back and be careful
of the moving red lasers. Jump over the second red laser to get to the end of
the tunnel. Jump up to shoot a grate at the end of an upper crawl space. Crawl
in and drop on the other side into a room behind the red lasers.
Enter the triangular
opening in the wall. Enter the room and pull down the switch on the left wall. You
get a cut scene of the corridor with the red lasers, which are now off. Exit
the room and go left to exit back to the corridor. Run to the right and follow
the corridor to the end. Go into the corner beside the sofa to pick up HK ammo. Use the disc in the disc reader to open the
door. Enter the room and shoot the grate in the lower back wall. Save the game
and go to the pedestal and face the door. Shoot the guard
and the armored guard that come through the open
door. Use the sniper mode for headshots, as the body armor is invulnerable. Pick
up the Book of Destiny from the pedestal. Or
just pick up the book and run. Get into the crawl space and go to the right and
stand up. Slide down a dark slope and the level changes.
I played the level twice
and never heard the secret sound.
Level 2: Escape from the Museum
You still have Agent
Smith's Card and the Book of Destiny in the inventory.
Slide down a slope and stop
at the bottom. Quickly use the sniper mode and shoot two
guards. Drop down into the room. Jump behind the boxes to your left and
pick up a small medipack. Go under
the tight rope and into the right corner. Shoot the lower grate and get into
the crawl space. Go forward to a T-junction and save the game. Crawl left and
stand up in a checkered floor room. Quickly run and jump towards the armored guard to get close to him. Use the sniper mode
and shoot him in the head. You die a lot if you stay far away. His blue laser
is deadly accurate but he is slow to turn around.
Go to the far left corner of the room where the guard was
located. Get into a crawl space and
crawl until you can stand up. Go left to push a block to reveal a crawl space.
Crawl to the end for a large medipack and HK ammo. Crawl back to the moveable block. Push the
shelf in front of you as far as possible. You hear the secret
sound but no secret is registered. Search the shelves for a small medipack and HK ammo.
Open the box in the corner for a large medipack.
Exit this room and go back to the checkered floor room.
Return to the entrance crawl space and go to the end. Get
into a crawl space and climb down a ladder. Follow the tunnel and use the
crowbar to open a door. Follow the new tunnel and drop into a room. Pick up a small medipack and HK ammo
from the corners of the room. Return to the crawl space. Now return to the
checkered floor room. There is another crawl space in the checkered floor room.
Enter the second crawl space in the right wall. Shoot a
grate and pull up into a corridor. You face green lasers. Run through the
lasers and turn to the right to go down the steps. A ceiling sentry gun will
shoot you in the back until you turn the corner. Enter the room and use the
card in the card reader to open the door. Enter the next room and go to the
left wall. Press a pushbutton to open the door. Enter the room and search the
drawers for a small medipack. Search the glass
door cabinet in the corner and get nothing for your trouble. Exit the room and
go left and get behind the two trees and into the corner. If you have trouble
jumping through the trees, you can shoot the trees and destroy them. Light from
the binoculars may help you to see a lower triangular crawl space entrance in
the corner. Drop through that lower triangular crawl space and into a tunnel.
Pull down a switch and exit back into the room.
Jump through the trees or shoot them and go to the left
around the central structure. Look up to the ceiling and see a ceiling tile
with cracks. Pull down the ceiling tile. Pull up into the air duct for a large medipack. Get down and pull up into the
opposite air duct. The red lasers should be off if you used the switch in the
tunnel. Go forward and pull open a floor trap door. Drop into the room and pull
down the wall switch. You get a cut scene of a trap door opening somewhere.
Search the glass door cabinet in the corner and get HK
ammo. Pull up into the air duct and drop back into the room. Go up the
steps and run through the green lasers. Use a few health packs as you get back
into the tunnel to return to the checkered floor room. Return through the crawl
space back to the entrance room with the tight rope.
Go to the far left corner and use the card in the card
reader to open the door. Enter the small room and pull down the two switches on
the central column. One switch will open a door on the other side of the
column. Go there and enter a small room to shoot a guard.
Search the shelves for HK ammo. Pick up a large medipack from the floor and exit. The other
switch opens a grate in a crawl space in the same small room. Do not enter that
crawl space yet but climb that side of the central column. At the top, shimmy
to the right and drop onto a ledge. Go behind the column and pick up HK ammo. Then jump into an upper tunnel near where
you climbed the column. Go through the crawl space. Pull down the switch on the
wall and exit. Climb down the column and return to the entrance room with the
tight rope.
Climb the boxes and tight rope across to the next box.
Shoot the grate and get into a crawl space. Ignore a T-junction and continue
straight. Stand up in a corridor and turn to the left top shoot a guard. Pick up a small
medipack from the dead body. Go back to the entrance and shoot a grate
in the lower left wall. Get in the crawl space and climb down a ladder. Get
into a short tunnel to pick up a large medipack.
You can see another room through a window. Return back to the corridor. Go left
to the room labeled "archives" and the door opens for you.
Enter a room with bookcases. Go to the left wall and enter
the crawl space. Search the shelves for HK ammo, small
medipack, and a large medipack. Return
to the archives and go left to the back of the room and enter a doorway to
shoot a guard. Open the drawers by the wall for HK ammo. Exit the archives and return to the entrance
room with the tight rope. Go back to the small room with the central column
with the two switches.
Go through the crawl space and pull up into an opening.
You overlook a deep room with a large structure in the middle. Grab the ceiling
and monkey swing over the structure. The path is easy to follow, as the path is
lower than the ceiling. Two red squares indicate where the path changes course.
On the other side, drop into a tunnel. Go through a crawl space and pick up a large medipack. Turn around and time a jump into a
tunnel with a red laser. Run down the tunnel and jump over a fire pit. At the
end, shoot the grate and crawl into a corridor.
To the right are red lasers. Turn to the left and shoot a guard with sniper mode. Go there and open the glass
cabinet for HK ammo. Go to the corner desk and pick up a disc.
You can use the monitor in the other corner but I do not know what it does. The
red lasers in the corridor are still on. Go back through the crawl space. Go to
the fire pit and crouch as the moving red laser goes over your head. Continue
into the other crawl space and monkey swing over the deep room again. Drop down
and go through the crawl space. Return to the entrance room with the tight
rope.
Turn left and use the disc in the disc reader to open the
large doors. Enter the room and shoot two guards.
You enter another large room with a disc reader and closed doors. Go to the
left wall and pull up into a crawl space. Follow the crawl space to a
T-junction and go to the right. Crawl pass a grate and stand up. Use sniper
mode again to shoot a grate in front of you and the grate that you just passed.
Crawl back and into that grate. Pick up HK ammo
and a large medipack. Return and crawl through
the first grate and stand up in a corridor. You are on the other side of the
red lasers.
Shoot the grate in the lower wall and enter the crawl
space. Go through and stand up in a corridor. Quickly turn to the right and
shoot two guards. Go to the right wall and pick
up a large medipack and HK ammo. Red lasers block the corridor. Shoot a grate in the lower
wall and enter a crawl space. Crawl through to a room on the other side of the
red lasers. Run across the room and the camera view changes as a camera gun
shoots at you. Search the glass cabinet and get a disc.
Return through the crawl spaces to get back to the second room with a disc
reader.
Go behind the forklift and use the disc in the disc reader
to open the large doors. Enter the door and run down the tunnel and the level
changes.
Lecel 3:
Old Times France 1985
You play as young Lara in this level with no weapons and
no binoculars for light. You start in dark attic. Go around the boxes and go
straight. Jump over a box and pick up a small medipack
from the corner floor. Jump back and go left to see a closed door and a key
lock. To the right of the key lock is an alcove with a hole in the floor. Go
there and climb down the wall in the hole. Shimmy to the left in a branch
tunnel and enter a small room. Search the corners and find a large medipack. Return to the hole and climb to the
bottom. Go through a crawl space and Lara looks to the left to see a key. Go
there and pick up the Golden Key from the
floor. Climb back into the attic and use the key in the key lock to open the
door. Enter the door and follow the stairs down and into the house.
Go left and onto a balcony. Go right and follow the
balcony to find some stairs. Loop around to the right corridor and push open
two gray doors. Enter the room and hear the secret
sound but no secret is registered. Pick up a large
medipack and a small medipack. Return to
the stairs. Go up the small stairs into a large room. Go left and out the
broken window onto a balcony. Go to the right and pick up a Golden Key. At the other end of the balcony, you can
see a small medipack on a roof. Ignore it. If you do get it, you cannot get
back into the house. Return to the large room. Go left into the washroom and
pick up a small medipack from the bottom of the
bath pool. Exit back to the large room. There is a panel in the far corner
where Lara says "No" when you use CTRL in front of it. Exit the room
down the small stairs and go down the large stairs.
Go to the right and press a pushbutton to open the door.
Now you can go back and get the small medipack
on the roof. Try a run and jump with no grab to land on the roof. Safety drop
to the ground and enter the house. The room to your right has a closed door and
needs an item. Go straight to a T-junction. The corridor to the right has a
closed door at the end. Go left and use the key in the key lock to open the
door. Enter the room and see another closed door in the left corner. Go into
the right corridor and see a closed door at the top of some stairs. Go to the
back wall and pick up the Golden Key off the
floor. Return to the earlier room and use the key in the key lock to open the
door.
You enter a kitchen. Jump over the counter and press the
pushbutton on the wall. Jump back and exit the kitchen. Go left to the door at
the top of the stairs. The door is open so exit outside. There is a pool in front of you. Dive into
the pool and swim down a hole in the corner. Follow the underwater tunnel to
the end and pick up a large medipack and a small medipack. Swim up a vertical shaft and pull up
into a small room. Go to the right and pull down a wall switch. Swim back to
the pool and surface.
Go towards some glass walls where you see a fountain. Go
forward to find an open door. There is a timed wall switch in the far fight
corner for later. Go through the open door and straight into another open door
in the corridor. Go down the steps. Loop around to the left and find a small medipack between two casks. Return to the steps
and loop around to the right to search the shelves for a large medipack. Return to the steps and go up back
into the corridor. Exit the opposite open door to get outside again.
Go left into the corner and save the game in front of a
timed wall switch. Pull down the wall switch and get a cut scene of a trap door
opening. Turn to the left and sprint to the open door. Enter the corridor and
sprint to the right. Turn the corner to the right and then left and sprint out
the open door at the end. You are outside again. Turn to the right and sprint
to find the open trap door. Climb down a ladder to the bottom or just fall into
the hole. Stop and wait there until the trap door closes above your head. There
is a bug here in the game. Go through a crawl space and hear the trap door drop
open. If you did not wait, the trap would close and you would be stuck inside.
Continue crawling and drop into water hole at the end. Get
out of the water and run down a wide corridor. Pull down a wall switch and
return to the water hole. Go into another corridor where you see a fan and pick
up a small medipack. Return to the water hole.
Several rats will nibble your feet. Swim down
through an underwater crawl space. Surface on the other side into a small room.
Pick up a large medipack and a crowbar from the floor. Swim back to the water hole.
Run and jump to grab the crawl space. Crawl back to the trap door and climb the
wall ladder to get back outside.
Return to the house and go up the stairs. Go up the small
stairs into the large room. Go to the far right corner and use the crowbar to
open the wall. Enter the tunnel and press a pushbutton. You hear some music.
Exit the room and go down both sets of stairs. Go left and through the doors to
return to the outside pool. Turn to the right and go up the steps at the right
wall. Follow the balcony with arches to an open gate. Step inside to pick up
the Golden Symbol and be attacked by bats. Exit here and return to the house and back to
the bottom of the stairs again.
Enter the room to your left. Use the symbol to open the
door at the back wall. Enter the room and loop around to your left to pull down
a jump switch on the wall. If you run straight the level ends. Exit the room
and go to the right. Follow the corridor back to the door to the outside area
with the fountain. Go to the opening in the wall to the right. Turn right and
follow the path through an open gate. Search the ground for a large medipack and two small
medipacks. Return to the house and to the room with the jump switch.
Turn to the right and go through the open door and the level changes.
Level 4:
In France - Present Day
You have the crowbar and medipacks in your inventory. You
also have binoculars again.
You start in front of a statue of a horse in a courtyard
area. Go towards the statue and shoot a dog. You
can see two key locks and doors ahead of you. To the left is an alley ending
with a closed door. Loop around to the right and into a partially hidden alley
in the corner. Back flip onto a slope and jump forward to grab a ledge and pull
up. Go left over a bridge and into an opening. Tight rope across the room into
another opening. Go forward and drop into a room. Shoot a box and pick up the Silver Key. Return to the tight rope and drop into
that room. Shoot the boxes and pick up red shotgun
shells. Pull up near the start of the tight rope and drop back into the
courtyard.
Run pass the horse to a wooden gate. Use the key in the
key lock to open the gate. Enter the room and hop onto the corner box for a small medipack. Push open the double doors on the far
wall. Hop back and shoot a dog. Enter the room
and pick up a revolver from a corner box. Drop
into the corner behind the boxes and use the crowbar to pry open a section of
wall. Step inside the alcove and pick up the Golden
Key from the floor. Exit the rooms to get outside into the courtyard and
go to the right. Use the key in the key lock to open an iron gate in the left
wall. Run through the tunnel and shoot a dog.
You emerge into an outside area and see a fence and a church in front of you.
Turn to the right and go behind the columns to pick up blue
shotgun shells.
Go pass the fence and go up the steps on the let side of
the church. Shoot the window and enter the church. Follow the balcony to shoot
a window for red shotgun shells. Continue on
the balcony and pick up the laser sight. Drop
into the church below and search the floor for blue
shotgun shells. Pull up onto the balcony and exit the church. Return to
the fence. There are two sets of steps between the fences. Go down the set with
the locked gate. Use the laser sight and revolver to shoot the lock and the
gate opens. You can also crouch and use pistols.
Enter the gate and turn to the right to shoot a dog. There is a pool of water in the room but a fan
keeps you from getting inside an underwater tunnel. Go around the pool to the
right. You will find a tunnel. Enter the tunnel and pick up a large medipack. Exit and continue to find a wall
switch next to a box. Pull down the wall switch and the door opens beside you.
Save the game before you enter. If you fall into the water trench there is no
way out. Walk across the tight rope to the other side. Turn to the right and go
forward to a room with a deadly pool. Jump onto the platform for blue shotgun shells and jump back into the entrance.
Grab the ceiling and monkey swing across the deadly pool.
Drop into the room and go to the right. Shoot a lock to
open a gate. Enter and go right to enter a small room. Turn a wheel value and
exit the room. Monkey swing over the deadly pool. Tight rope walk again over
the water trench. Dive into the water pool and the fan is off. Swim into the
underwater tunnel in the corner. Just follow the underwater tunnel. It is
twisting but linear. Pull up in front of a gate. Use the crowbar to pry a Silver Coin off the gate. There are mice on the other side of the gate. Wait a minute and
the mice disappear. Slide down the slope in the corner opening.
Pick up a shotgun and
enter the next room. The gate closes behind you. Go to the far corner and pick
up a large medipack. Then place the coin in the
receptacle on the wall. You get a cut scene of the gladiator
getting off a ledge. I jumped onto that ledge and use pistols to shoot the
gladiator. Side jump back and forth to avoid his blue fire and save a lot. When
the gladiator is dead, pick up the Golden Key
from the body. Use the key in a key lock to open the door beside it. Enter the
gate and slide down the slopes. Another gate opens and you land in a dungeon
cell.
There is a closed gate in one wall. Go to the corner and
see a block with a ring in it. Pull out that corner block. Move it into the
opposite corner out of your way. Enter the tunnel and pull out another block.
Push it again the opposite wall under the entrance gate and out of your way.
Enter the room and see two moveable blocks. Push the right block forward into
an unseen alcove. Push the left block forward as far as possible and into an
unseen alcove. Enter a tunnel to your left and pull down a chain. Exit back to
the cell and the gate is open. Use the two hanging ropes to get over the lava
pit. There is a side tunnel that has red shotgun
shells if you want to get them. It is actually rather hard to swing and
jump into the side tunnel and get back onto the rope. I just left them.
Pull down the two chains in the two side alcoves. Go
forward through the open gate and into a room. Pick up the Goldstone Piece from the pedestal. Go forward and the
gate opens for you. Slide down a slope and drop into a trench for red shotgun shells and a large
medipack. Pull up out of the trench. Go left or right around the
harmless flame in the tunnel. Enter a room and two
gladiators jump off their ledges. I ran back into the tunnel near the
flame. Shoot the gladiators as they are stuck at the entrance. Side flip when
you hear that they are going to shoot the blue fire at you. Save the game a
lot. When both are dead, pick up a Golden Key
from a dead body.
Enter the room and use the key in the key lock to open a
gate. Step into the alcove and pick up the Goldstone
Piece off the pedestal. Go to the opposite wall and pick up a large medipack and blue
shotgun shells of the ledges near the door. Combine the Goldstone pieces
to make the Goldstone. Place it in the receptacle to the right of the gate and
the gate opens. Enter the gate and climb the back wall ladder. Pull up into a
small room. Go to the right and pull down a wall switch and the level changes.
I played the level twice and never heard the secret sound.
Level 5:
Shadow's Hideout
This level is almost identical to level 3 where you played
as young Lara.
You start in a familiar looking room from an earlier
level. Pull down the wall switch to your right. Go forward and dive into the
water. Follow the underwater tunnel and pull up in a dark room. Pick up a large medipack, red shotgun shells, and the crowbar from the floor. Swim back to the starting
room. Jump into the side tunnel for a small medipack
and rats nibble your feet. Go back and jump
across the water and grab a crawl space. Pull up and crawl to the end. Stand up
and climb the wall ladder through the open trap door.
Follow the path to the
house door and shoot a dog. Press the pushbutton
to open the door. Enter the house and shoot a dog.
Go up the large stairs and go to the left corridor again. Push open the double
doors and enter the room. Pick up red shotgun shells
and Gate Star #1. Exit and go back up the small
stairs into the large room again. Use the crowbar to open the wall in the far
right corner. Enter the tunnel and press the pushbutton. Exit and enter the
washroom. Dive into the bath pool for a small medipack.
Exit and shoot the window again. Get out on the balcony and pick up the Golden Key. Run and jump off the other end to land on
a roof for a small medipack. Safety drop to the
ground and enter the house again.
Go forward and then left to
use the key to open a door. Enter the room and go to the right to find the Golden Key in the same place on the floor as before. Return
and use the key to open the door. Enter the kitchen and press the pushbutton on
the wall. Exit and go left and up the steps to the pool. Turn to the right and
go up the steps onto the balcony with arches. Enter the open gate and pick up
the Golden Symbol. Run away from the bats and back to the pool.
Dive into the pool and swim
down into the corner. Follow the underwater tunnel and pick up Gate Star #2. Swim up and surface in a small alcove. Pull
down a wall switch and swim back to the pool. Pull up and go through the
opening in the glass wall towards the fountain. You may notice that the timed
wall switch is gone. Enter the open door and cross the corridor into another
open door. Go down the steps and loop around to the right. Search the shelves
for a large medipack. Go to the end wall for a shotgun. There is nothing to the left side so go back
up the steps.
Go left to return to the
stairs. Enter the room opposite the stairs and use the Golden Symbol to open
the door. Enter and loop around to the left to pull down a jump switch. Exit
and go to the right to follow the path back to the fountain. Go to the path to
the right of the fountain and shoot a dog. Enter
the open gate and hear the secret sound but no
secret is registered. Pick up blue shotgun shells
and a large medipack. Return to the room
opposite the steps. Enter the next room and go to the right this time. Pass
through the open doors and turn to the left. Go down the steps and the door
closes behind you.
Run down the steps and then
slide down a slope. Near the bottom of the slope, jump with a right curve to
get behind a column. Three dragons shoot
fire at you from the back of the room. Sprint to the wide column on the left
side of the room and pick up a large medipack.
Run straight to the column beside the dragons for red
shotgun shells. Side jump to shoot a dragon and side jump back for
protection. After seven or eight shotgun blasts, a dragon will die. After the
second dragon is dead, use the columns for protection and sprint to the other
side of the room. Pick up blue shotgun shells
and get closer to the third dragon.
When the three dragons are dead, go to the platform. Place
the two Gate Stars in the two receptacles and the gate opens. Enter the room
and pick up the Book of Destiny off the pedestal. Go forward and run up the
steps towards the light. The game ends and the closing credits scroll up the
screen.
