TR5 - SKATE OR DIE by SKATEBOARD KID

Start by killing a lot of bats (1). Pick up five red shotgun shells (1-5) and the shotgun (6). Be careful of the fire and jump into the right alcove to pick up a small medipack (7). The direction left or right refers to Lara's view. Jump the fire and climb the left block. Climb down the far side for blue shotgun shells (8). Climb up, duck and crawl up the slope. Stand up and slide down into a room with two metal warriors  (2,3). They will shoot blue fire at you. Run left and hop up to an alcove with a large statue. Turn and shoot the warriors with pistols. It takes a long time but they can be killed. Get down from the alcove and pick up a large medipack (9). Turn the wheel at the alcove and the far gate opens.

 

Go inside and then jump back out again. Six metal warriors (4-9) attack you. They are smaller but faster than the previous warriors. Try to lure them from the room one at a time. This way is easier to fight and anything they drop can be picked up. Pick up a large medipack (10) that is dropped. Enter the room and be careful of swinging blades. Pick up ten red shotgun shells (11-20) from just inside the room. There are spike traps everywhere. Turn left and pick up five red shotgun shells (21-25) against the wall between the two silver pots. Go to the back of the room and look to the right for three red shotgun shells (26-28). Go left pass a closed door and get to a wheel on the left wall. Turn the wheel and the closed door you passed earlier opens.

 

Enter the door and you are attacked by two tinnos wasps (10,11) that the author says that you cannot kill. Pick up three red shotgun shells (29-31) and enter the room and slide down a slope. Run to the left wall and dive into some water. The tinnos wasps will go in after you and be stuck there. Also another metal warrior (12) and two green animals (13,14) attack. And of course the floor is littered with spike traps. You can get into the water for a large medipack (32), red shotgun shells (33) and two blue shotgun shells (34,35). Stay away from the rays in the middle, as there are deadly. Pull back up and go back to where you slide into the room and face the room. Over the ledge to your left you can pick up a small medipack (36). Over the ledge to your right you can pick up five red shotgun shells (37-41). Go forward to the middle of the room for four blue shotgun shells (42-45). From there turn right and go to the far wall to pick up seven blue shotgun shells (46-52) near a wall torch. If you turn left to follow that wall to the far right corner, avoid the deadly rays but find nothing.

 

You can go to the far left corner for red shotgun shells (53) and three blue shotgun shells (54-56). Beside the shotgun shells is a passageway. Enter it and see shotgun shells in a hole.  To get into the hole crawl forward to the edge. Press the UP arrow and jump (ALT) and Lara will roll forward into the hole. She cannot crawl backwards into it. Pick up two red shotgun shells (57,58) but a pack of rats (15) attack. Climb out and crawl up the ramp to pick up five flares (59-63). The rats eventually disappear. Use the same forward roll to get down a ledge. Drop to the floor and go towards a ladder. Avoid the two semi-invisible animals (16,17) and climb the ladder. It seems that they cannot be killed. Walk over the chain and get to the other ledge. Use action (CTRL) with the UP arrow. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to stabilize Lara if she starts to fall. On the other ledge kill the bats (18) that attack. In the chest at the sidewall pick up a Golden Symbol (64). As you look back into the room towards the entrance, the exit path is to the far left corner. There are blocks there that you have to climb. Give yourself full health and safety drop to the floor. In the corner pick up red shotgun shells (65) and a large medipack (66). Then avoid the animals and the spikes and go climb the blocks.

 

At the top, it was very difficult to get back. From the corner block, jump into a flat area above the slope. Use the binoculars to see it. Climb the first block and then jump to the sloped block at the side. Go to the corner where there is an edge; not the wall corner. After a while of action (CTRL) and LEFT/RIGHT arrows so that Lara is twisting or rotating in that corner, Lara got onto the flat surface with her head stuck in the bricks. From here she could duck and crawl back out. This seems like just luck and there must be a better combination of moves that I missed. When you stand up, the rats (19) come back. Run out into the big room and eventually they disappear.

 

Go back to the entrance slope of the big room. Look around and you should find a room with a large statue and deadly rays around it. You can go there to kill a green animal (20) and pick up blue shotgun shells (67) and a small medipack (68). The large medipacks are sitting on deadly firetraps and you cannot get them. As you leave, kill a metal warrior (21) at the entrance. Exit and go straight to the opposite side of the room and turn left. Pick up a small medipack (69) around a corner. Then continue to see a ramp and a gate. Beside the gate is a receptacle. Use the Golden Symbol there and the gate opens. Enter the gate and go forward into a crawl space. On the other side go up a ramp while the music changes.

 

Turn the corner and look down into a room with firetraps on the floor but do not slide down there yet. You face the first purple dragon (22) shooting fire at you. Stand at the top of the ramp and you are out of his range. Use the shotgun and eventually the dragon dies. It explodes in several stages starting at the head. Fantastic! Slide into the room and go to the far right corner and turn a wheel on the wall. Get the shotgun ready and go to the other side of the room to kill the second purple dragon (23). Do not enter the other room that you see. Kill the dragon in this room by shooting and side jumping when the dragon  shoots fire. Now enter the other room and kill the third purple dragon (24). This one took a lot longer to die for some reason. Go to the back wall and hop onto a block to turn the wheel. If you had not turned the first wheel in the other room, there would be spikes popping up under this wheel.

 

You hear a gate opening. Hop down and get into the open gate. Crawl into the opening and stand up to face a small depression in the floor. This was another difficult place to get into. Turn so that you face the rooms the dragons were in. Stand with your back to the wall and jump at a slight angle to the flat block on the opposite side. Lara ended up with her feet in the depression. Now duck and crawl into the depression. When she stops crawling, use the jump and she rolls forward and jumps as the level ends.

Just follow the wide corridor until you come to a small opening. You can see deadly lava on the other side. Get into the opening and shoot two green birds (1,2) that are shooting white bolts at you. Turn around and jump to a safe tile. Then jump to the left corner onto a safe tile. Pick up three red shotgun shells (1,2,3) and the shotgun (4). Jump back to the central tiles and jump over the lava to the room with the dead birds. Go towards the open doorway with the fires and kill two guards (3,4). Enter the doorway and notice a water pool to the left. I found nothing in it. I guess that it is there in case you catch fire. Go right and you pass another water pool. Dive in and swim to the back wall. You can dive into a hole there and go left to pull up into a large cavern room with nothing in it. On the way back, the water entrance looks like the floor so it is hard to see. When you return just follow the corridor and you finally go through a small doorway.  It is snowing and there is a helicopter in the sly. You can pick up a torch from the middle of the room and light it on a fire. However, I found nothing to use it on. Just run to the helicopter and the level ends.
