Deadly Pool Room
Nothing to do in
this room so go to the W, drop and grab the edge; shimmy so Lara hangs over the
slope with the fire emitter below, wait until you can drop, slide and jump in
last moment with grab over the breakable tile; quickly jump to the N opening. If
you want, you can jump with a left curve to land onto the black ledge (E edge)
and leave the breakable tile so it is easier to return here later. Let's take a
small detour for a secret: look SE to see a different texture (orange arrow)
under the furniture; time the fire to jump there and take another running jump
to the next S ledge (right side); use the monkeyswing to reach the next ledge
in W side; another running jump to the N ledge and a last jump to the open door
to get SECRET #1: the uzis.
Now take a running
jump to the NE corner of the nearby ledge (Lara will hit the ceiling with her
head) and from here to the N opening. Run through the corridor and in the next
room pick up the small medipack from the
pedestal and move yourself quickly to avoid the locusts.
In the N wall near the pedestal there is a small slope and over it there's a
small high opening; you need to go there now so go E, grab the vines behind the
pillar and climb to the top, pick up the uzi clips
and shoot the bat. Jump to that opening
and continue to a big room where an aggressive blue parrot is waiting for you. Safety
climb down to the bottom.
Small Pool Room
In the small pool
there are uzi clips and a closed door I
couldn't open. Climb the NE stairs and jump to the first fat pillar with spikes
at half way. Situate Lara near the centre of the S edge facing SW. Do you see
another of those brown tiles with the arrow in the corner of the next fat
pillar? Time the spikes and take a standing jump over it; a camera shows some
bars exploding, but continue running and jumping to the wide S safe ledge. Notice
the fire in the jumpswitch above you and jump W to the wooden bridge and to the
rocky ledges over the small pool. Take a running jump with a right curve around
the SW pillar to land into the W room behind the bars (these were the bars
which exploded when you ran over the tile with the arrow). Inside, move the
cage over the brown tile with the arrow to see the fire extinguishing in the
high jumpswitch. Safety drop to the bottom of the main room and go again up the
NE stairs, but let's go for a secret first.
From the edge of
one of the first steps, you can face W and jump to grab the narrow wooden
bridge above you; do it so and hoist up; turn NW, draw pistols and jump to
shoot the first purple fence; jump there, shoot the bats
and pick up flares and a small medipack in the grassy tiles; go to the W
end and shoot the last part of the fence; face S and take a running jump
against the pillar in the corner of the pool to grab a very well hidden
jumpswitch behind a plant; now go up the NE stairs and climb the ladder to your
left to get your prize: SECRET #2: the shotgun. Return to the stairs and this time climb
all around to the very top. Save your game here 'cause the jumpswitch is timed.
Drop, pull it and when you are about to touch the floor, immediately roll
(don't let Lara flex her legs) and take a running jump with a left curve to
land onto the narrow wooden bridge; quickly press the sprint key and when you
are almost hitting the ladder keep pressed Ctrl so Lara jumps automatically
when hitting the wall; climb to the (hopefully) open door which closes behind
you.
Sliding Floor And
Fire Emitters
Note: Dutchy has provided an alternate way of
getting through the following section: If
you just let Lara slide along the wall against the second statue and wait for
the burner to go out, wait 2 seconds more and jump aiming right, keep jumping
right and land against the third statue, wait till the burner stopped about 2
seconds and jump left past it.
Run through the
corridor and in the next room you'll find some fire emitters and a wooden
sliding floor. The trick here is to situate Lara in the middle of the slide and
run over the sliding floor just when the first fire is about to extinguish;
you'll slide with no problems near the second emitter and then you must do single
jumps with left curves to situate Lara in the very left side to give her one
second more to surpass the third fire emitter. Once in the other side pick up
the flares S, turn around and jump to
the high N opening. Advance and watch the flyby...
Paan Key
To your left there
are shotgun shells. Turn around (E) and
advance straight to the corner. Pick up the small
medipack and the shotgun shells
from the pedestals to receive two advices: you'll have to release four rolling
balls and the first key you need is at the top of the central tower. When you
pick up the shells, rolling ball #1 is released. In the nearby SE small tower
there's a ladder so you can climb down or up when you need it to the several
floors this huge main room has. Be careful with this ladder, because you can't
go down releasing and grabbing the ladder like in other ones; if you need to
descend, you'll need to grab it and go down step by step to the bottom. Do it
so and let's go for another secret. Around the central building there are some
ledges you can climb simply jumping and grabbing from below; climb there, pick
up the shotgun and shotgun shells in the N ledge and look for a
moveable cage in W ledge. Pull the cage from N to S to the end and out off the
ledge over another one of those brown tiles (below in ground floor) with the
arrow. This opens a door in the W side of this main area. Go there and when the
camera changes climb to the W open door; shoot the croc
and pick up some flares and SECRET #3: the crossbow.
Go out of this room and to the left (N) up the stairs; at the top go left (W)
and in the corner left again (S) until you find a small slope over the door you
came from. Turn E and take a running jump to grab the fat pillar in front of
you (Lara will hit the ceiling) with the palm tree; shimmy right and when
you're in the center of the tile in front of the slope in W wall, drop and grab
a very hidden jumpswitch between the plants below. This opens a trapdoor
somewhere but there's not a camera to show you this. Now go to the central
tower; a girl-demigod awaits you. Once
she's dead open the trapdoor in the ceiling and climb from the N side (blades
above); now turn around and take a standing jump (not easy) to grab the edge of
the floor above, hoist up and pick up flares
NW; take another standing jump to climb to the upper floor. Pick up the Paan Key from the pedestal and see a screenshot
to the place you must go (E wall at the top).
Samsara Key
Make your way to
go down to the bottom (not difficult) and go SE to find the ladder where you
can climb to the top of this main room. Go E and near the pedestals is the door
you can open. Enter and shoot the parrot
and the tiger; pick up the Samsara Key from the pedestal in NW corner. Go E
and find a deep pit to your left; further there is a door which opens for you
but it's only a trap. Take a running jump N to the other side of the pit and
drop into a water hole below. In the other side of the underwater passage, pull
the floor lever to your left to release rolling ball #2. Advance N and some
bars will explode; the grey tile will lead you to the top of the main room. Pick
up the small medipack and go E to the
long ladder; descend to the very bottom and go W to the green door you can open
with your new key.
Ganesha Key
Advance and if you
go into the niches you'll find uzi clips
and some small spiders; one of them drops
a large medipack! Time the fire and the
moving spiked column and in the other side pick up the Pani Key in front of the blades. Retrace your
steps to the place with skeletons in the walls and use the key, shoot the spider and pull the lever inside to move the
blades. Return to the place where the blades were and cross from the left side.
Shoot the crocs, advance and climb the
ledge in front of you to pick up shotgun shells.
There are three moveable cages here; push the E and W crates into the small
pools behind and move the third crate E over the grass to open a door
somewhere.
Note: Dmbibl has provided the following tip. Lara pushed the W crate into water. She ran to the four lever area, and
used the first lever on right (the one that had previously been spiked). She
returned and pushed the E crate into water. Now in the lever area, the two
remaining levers on left and right were free.
Explore this big
area to find flares, a large medipack and uzi
clips, shooting some enemies
in your way. In the SE corner there are some levers over green blocks. Three
levers are safe to pull (you've deactivated the spikes with the cages), and
there are spikes in another lever and over another block with a large medipack.
Pull the three safe levers to open a door in the main room and get screenshots
of the top of the central tower. In a block near the E wall there is another of
those brown textures with the arrow; if you step there, the spikes in the last
lever (and in the block with the large medipack) will be deactivated, but only
for a short time so, jump there and quickly (if you stay there the spikes will
be active anyway) jump to the next block to pull the last lever; this raises a
block at the top of the central tower in the main room. I couldn't get the
large medipack in the N block.
Make your way to
return to the main room and climb the long ladder to the top. There is an
opening in S wall when the first rolling ball was; there is a medipack there
but when you approach, spikes pop up and down; if you want to got the SECRET #4: the large
medipack, you must enter when the spikes are up, quickly pick up the
medipack and jump back before being impaled; anyway, if you enter when the
spikes are down and don't pick up the medipack, the secret will appear in your
inventory. Use the raised block to reach the high central pedestal and pick up
the Ganesha Key. Return to the upper E
ledge and near the left pedestal is the door you've opened before when placing
the cage over the grass. There are two big poisonous spiders in this long
corridor, but these spiders can't be killed, so you must be very fast and run
to the end of this long corridor to get SECRET #5:
the revolver. Return outside and go
right (N), shoot the small spider and
turn left (W); pick up more flares and
further, in N wall is the door you've opened before in the room with several
levers.
Pani Key
Go inside and
watch for a lot of falling balls in the ceiling. Jump into the water avoiding
the first one and dive through the W underwater passage. In the next room, pick
up a small medipack in the central ledge
with the plants and use your key in the keyhole in SW corner. In the next room
pick up crossbow arrows, a large medipack and shotgun
shells from the pedestals in the corners and go through the E
opening; advance and take notice of the advices at the end, watch the flyby and
wait a bit when it ends so you can move Lara. Jump to the SE opening in the
bars, pick up the large medipack and the
uzi clips, and take a running jump to
the grey slopes SW, slide, grab and shimmy right until you can hoist up (if
Lara refuses to shimmy, release and grab the Ctrl key very fast so she can grab
the very edge). Now take a running jump W-NW to the lower block over the deadly
water and from here a jump to the S ledge with the lever. Pull it and return to
the lower block; now a running jump to the N one and pick up the flares there. Continue jumping N to the block
where the shotgun shells are; turn left,
grab the ladder and climb to the ledges above. Pick up more flares and go S to the next ladder.
Climb it and once
up there's a trapdoor above you but don't climb the last W ladder yet; turn NE
and take a running jump to the opening between the bars. Now another running
jump to the NE opening (that trapdoor is timed) and prepare yourself for a
timed sequence. With Lara's backpack against the bars facing E, take a standing
jump over the first trapdoor, a running jump to the next and another running
jump with a right curve to land on the E safe ledge. Climb the ladder and jump
back to land on the ledge behind you; pull the lever and jump to the S opening,
run W and push the ball over the still closed trapdoor. Now return to the
previous lever and take a running jump W with grab at the end to go through the
opening below; turn left and another running jump SW to the opening next to the
brown tile and a final jump SW to the ledge with the ladder you didn't climb
moments ago. Climb it now and jump back onto the trapdoor behind, quickly jump
back 'cause the trapdoor is timed and pull the last level here to open the
trapdoor under the ball and kill all the crocs below
(if you went before here, the spikes would be active). A trapdoor have raised
in E side so you can go back to the first brown tile at the beginning, but
don't go there yet, again, go back to the ledge with the ladder, turn NE and
take a running jump to the opening between the bars; another running jump to
the NE opening and to the place with the two trapdoors. This time you don't
need to do the timed jumps; jump onto the first trapdoor (it's not timed), wait
for the second trapdoor to drop and do a single jump E-SE to land on the ledge
below. From this ledge turn S and run off the ledge to land on a wooden tile
below. Time the nearby spikes to jump over that block and to the central
platform where the crocs were. Pick up the Pani Key
and a large medipack; pull the lever
here to release rolling ball #3. There are more flares
in SW corner behind the sloped tile with the arrow too.
Moksha Key
Now the spikes are
not active so climb the block with the N torch and jump to the ledge you came
from (from here you can time the spikes in the N ledge over the water to get revolver ammo). A block has raised here so climb
it, jump to the N ledge and from the NW corner jump NW to the sloped wall,
slide and jump to the far W trapdoor. From here I did a long running jump W-SW
to land onto a small ledge over the water below, losing some health. From here
it's easy to return to the last high lever we pulled (as you did before): turn
right and jump the N block; turn left, grab the ladder and climb to the ledges
above; go S to the next ladder; climb it and once up climb the next ladder and
jump back onto the trapdoor behind, quickly jump back (timed); turn around and
use the trapdoor in E side so you can go back to the first brown tile at the
beginning, From here turn left, jump SW and run W to the room with grey
pedestals in the corners. Return to the water room with many balls in the
ceiling, turn right and to the S there's a lower ledge you can climb.
Climb the W ledge
and turn around facing E: there is a series of high blocks with a ball above
each one; jump over the next and inmediately jump back to avoid the falling
ball; do the same with the remaining blocks all around the room until you reach
the central platform with the floor lever. Pull it to open the door inside the
pool, jump into the water and pull the underwater switch to open a door
somewhere. Dive through the open door and go right (N), right (E) and left (N)
to find the open door. Use the key to open the next door; there's an opening to
your left but there's a timed jumpswitch there so let's take a look to the path
you must follow first 'cause it's very long. Advance to pick up the pistols and in the next room shoot the bird so it doesn't disturb you later. There is an
opening to your left; jump to the right ledge and another jump to the next S
ledge. In front of you there's a tile with a skull; you can't jump over that
tile 'cause you'll be translated to the start of the area so, take a sidejump
to your left, another jump to the next S ledge, another jump to the sloped
ledge and a final jump to the W one. From here you must jump from the very N
edge and diagonally or you'll fall into the water; slide the next slope, jump
and jump again to the slope near the tree; slide and jump two more ledges and
finally to an opening to your left where you can find shotgun shells. From here a standing jump SW to
the next ledge, a running jump SE to the next and another running jump SW to
the next in W wall. Now a running jump N, run a bit E and another running jump
NE. Jump to the platform with the spikes, to the N high ledge and from here a
running jump SE to the final ledge. Finally jump S to the "open"
door. Jump into the water and return to the corridor where you got the pistols
(there's a small ledge N you can climb), advance a bit and to the right is an
opening where you can find the timed jumpswitch. Once you do the timed run you
can pick up the Moksha Key. Make your
way to return all the way back to the main room.
Parvati Key
The place to use
this key is in the first floor so go to the ladder, climb down to the bottom
and climb the NW stairs to the first floor. Go around and find the door in S
wall. In the next room shoot the spiders
and the left door opens for you. Jump over the fence taking care of the fire
emitters and slide down the ramp. The next hole is a trap so jump to the hole
with the sign in the wall; follow the path and you'll arrive at a room with big
lower rocks. Crawl under the rocks in an E direction and pick up SECRET #6: crossbow
explosive arrows between the grass. Explore the area to find a shotgun, 3 x flares
and shoot a bat and a croc. Jump into the water and look for a passage
in SE corner. Swim to the end and pull the underwater switch to open the
trapdoor behind you. Better return for air and then swim through the trapdoor. In
the next room notice the different tiles in the ceiling and dive through the S
lower opening to get a small medipack
and some air. Return to the flooded room and take the E opening this time. Explore
the small maze to find 2 x uzi clips and
eventually you'll find a room with two moveable cages. Look up to the ceiling
of the flooded room to know where to place the cages so: move the central cage
1 tile E then 2 tiles N and 2 tiles E; the door for the key opens. Now move the
cage 4 tiles S just in front of the entrance; the N door opens. The other cage
was useless for me. Pull the lever inside the N room to open the exit door and
pick up the Parvati Key. Return to the
flooded room.
Liberating The
Holy Monkey
Now the blue door
at S wall is open so go there and pull the underwater switch to open the
trapdoor. Go out of the water and pull the lever to release rolling ball #4;
this deactivates the spikes in front of the keyhole for the key you have. Push
the crate to clear the way and go left to another water room. Jump to the S
ledge; now to the W slope, slide and jump to the N ledge; quickly jump to the W
transparent ledge in the water before the fire starts; time the next fire to
jump to the next ledge, from here to the N ledge and finally to the high W
platform. Save your game in front of the jumpswitch for another timed run. Pull
it, roll and run and jump to the ledge in N wall, jump over the sloped ledge in
the corner, slide and jump over the raised trapdoors to reach the high grassy
ledge in S wall; from here a long running jump NE to the ledge with the switch.
Pull it and return to the corridor; pull the lever in the left alcove to open
the door in the S corridor, go against the pedestal and you'll be teleported to
the main room. The keyhole you're looking for is in the second floor so go to
the ladder, climb down a bit and jump back to the ledge behind; go to the gate
in E wall, use your key and get the crowbar
there. Make your way to go to the first floor where the holy monkey is locked,
use the crowbar to open the door, open the golden double doors and advance to
finish the level.
