Level 1 – Trip by Train

Message from Kurtis: After the starting cutscene look in the inventory to see what Kurtis has written.

“This trip could bore you, so I want to make it funnier. I’ve hidden three crystal items in this train, find them before the arrival at the station!

Kurtis

P.S.: Don’t you think it’s time to change the air here?
P.P.S.: I’m hungry.”


Window Puzzle: Both doors in this wagon are closed, so take Kurtis’s advise and your task is to open four windows to change the air. The windows that can be opened are marked with a small black handle in their upper part. From left to right, open the first and the third window in the S and the first and the fifth (and last) window in the N. The two doors W and E open. Exit to the E and find a Large Medikit to your left.

Bench Shooting: Now jump to the next E wagon, open the door and enter the room. Open the right hand WC door and find the Crowbar on the floor. Now explore the wagon – there is a woman sitting in the centre, hiding the way to a key beneath the bench. Between the opposite benches you can pick up a Little Medikit. Now go to the rear part, Lara will look onto a broken bench. Duck and shoot them with the pistols and find a Bunch of Keys in the just revealed crawlspace. There is also a keyhole in the far E, but you don’t have the correct key yet. Go back out W.

Top of the Train: Jump back to the first wagon, through it and out W. Go left and use the Bunch of Keys so that a N lattice vanishes. Climb the ladder and shimmy left around the corner, then climb up to the roofs. Jump to the W wagon and run to the SW corner of it, find a ladder on the S wall and drop to grab it. Shimmy left around the corner and drop down.

Dining Wagon: Open the door into the dining wagon. Push the button to your right to hear a sound track, then pick up a Piece of Cake from the table. Shoot the beer glass on the table and the way is free to get into the next wagon – two lattice doors opened and a block raised. Before exiting have a look at the recipe on the wall right of the table and write down some of the numbers.

Food Cart: Look at the food cart – it is directly beneath a passenger. There is another passenger in the wagon you just opened the way to, so push the food cart all the way into the locomotive and on the marked tile next to the woman. A camera shows you an item appearing in the previous wagon, you can now get the Crystal Drop from the end dining wagon.

Key Card: Return to the wagon where you placed the food card and open the door by inputting the correct code in the keypad (from the recipe) to meet the engine driver. Pick up the Mechanical Spider and the Crystal Star.

The Winding Key: Go back out, climb the ladder to the train roofs again and shimmy right around the corner, run back E and climb down to the first wagon. Enter the interior and approach Kurtis. Give him the Piece of Cake and to thank you he leaves you the Winding Key on the floor. Pick it up and head E, then jump to the other wagon.

Frightening the Woman: Combine the Winding Key with the Mechanical Spider and enter the interior. Go in front of the woman and use the combination to scare her – she runs away, you thus can duck and get the Key from under the bench. Use it on the keyhole E in this wagon, the door opens and you can now get the Crystal Sun. Soon afterwards the level changes.


Level 2 – The Valley of the Mill

The Attic: After sliding down into the valley, head straight W, passing the mill, and drop down in the empty riverbed to find a Large Medikit. Climb out, go to the S side of the house and climb the vines here to the roof, go to the N side and look down right to spot a jumpswitch, drop and use it to open the window near the vines you climbed S, so go there, climb up again and into the attic. Find a Pitchfork here and push the box on the block with the ladder markings NE.

First Secret: Drop down again and climb the SE waterfall, then jump into the water at the end and there is an invisible opening in the left, swim through and find Secret 1, an Easterbunny. Climb back out of the water and climb down the ledges.

Inside the Mill: Now head to the N side of the mill, open the door with the Pitchfork and enter the house. To let it work you need two cogs to place them to your right. You can shatter the NE barrels to get a Little Medikit. Pull away the sack in the E to find the Barn Key where the sack previously was, place it right of the entrance to open the trapdoor above. The box doesn’t harm you, but if you didn’t put it on the right spot you can climb up and push it down. Now push it on the marked tile SE and you can see a door NE in this valley open.

First Cog: Head out of the mill and follow the river NE and swim down into the passage. Find the first of the two required Cogs at the end, turn and swim out again. Follow the river all the way SE and go through the waterfall, a message tells you:

“Those tendrils need to be watered a bit.”

Second Cog: Pick up the Flares and get back E a bit, then find a path up N. Just when the river makes an E turn, find an almost invisible crowbar lever in a bush just overlooking the river and facing a diagonal ledge. Use it to see a cutscene of the empty riverbed being flooded. Now go N over the wooden bridge to find a Little Medikit at the end, return S and jump down into the river, then get up to the mill again and jump in the just flooded part of the river, swim against the flow and use the underwater lever to the right of the big wheel. A carriage magically drives away revealing a Small Wood Bucket, so climb out of the water N and go E of the mill to pick it up. Since it is empty you first have to fill it, simply jump in the river and then it’s possible. Go all the way SE and pour water over the tendrils you then can climb, get in the crawlspace and at the end you can find the second Cog. Get back out again.

Using the Cogs: Return all the way into the mill, enter it via the N doorway and place the two Cogs W to make the mill working. Pick up the Bag of Flour the mill has produced and see a door in the SE of the valley opening.

Exiting the Valley: Go SE behind the waterfall where you got the secret. You can get to the opened door either by jumping over the E ledges or if you stand-jump up the ramp to the ledge directly under the door. Either way jump up and exit the valley. Crawl through the passage and onto the breakable tile at the end. Drop down on a slope.

Second Secret: About halfway down the slope jump to grab the plants. Climb up and get into the crawlspace to find another Easterbunny for Secret 2. Drop down onto the slope again.

Cave Jump Session: Slide down to the bottom to see a flyby of a beautiful cave area with an oriental building to the W. Drop into the pond afterwards and swim around the stone structure with the tree. At the S side you can find a narrow passage with an underwater ceiling lever and a Large Medikit. The lever raised a S trapdoor in the cave, climb it and then up the ladder. Drop on the left platform jump down E to the ledge with the Flares. Turn N and jump to the next platform and one further, then on the right hand slope. Shimmy left and then around the corner, then climb up into a passage. Use a lever at the end to release two ropes in the cave. Jump back down in the water and climb back up the ladder, then jump to the W stone ledge and thereon to the first N rope. Swing and jump to the second rope, then to the N stone ledge.

Third Secret: Head E and jump to the E slope, grab the ledge and shimmy all the way right and climb up for Secret 3, the last Easterbunny. Jump back down and climb up all the way using the ropes again to get to the ledge before going for the secret.

Placing the Fluor: Stand on the W ledge facing the branches, step back twice and then press Backwards, then run-jump to grab the first branch that serves as a pole, jump to the second and finally to the W ledge. Climb up and you are on the roof of the building. Enter the far W room and put the Fluor into the shell – a flyby shows three doors opening below so drop down into the courtyard. Explore the small pool to find Flares SE and a Topaz Key NW. Now you can choose one of the three rooms to explore first – the order doesn’t matter.

Left Door: Enter the S room and insert the Topaz Key to open two doors – one with a moon statue, the other with a sun statue inside. The painting above the S door tells you to create an eclipse by placing both of them in the right order – the paintings on the W wall behind the wall torches help you. Place both items in the correct order, so the moon comes further S and the sun N (important: in the middle of the room) and the door opens. Place the Crystal Sun from the previous level on the pedestal and see a camera shot of the pedestal in the middle of the courtyard. Get out again.

Middle Door: Enter the W passage and go behind the curtain. You are in a mirror room, look carefully through it to see the platforms above the pool. Jump first W over the railing, then NW and finally SW to the ledge in front of the W passage. Place the Crystal Drop on the pedestal and get a screen of the outside pedestal. Jump in the water to find a Little Medikit in the SW corner, then climb back out NE and return to the courtyard.

Right Door: Enter the N room – in this puzzle you have to jump on the five flower squares without stepping on any other square in order to let the flower objects in the back wall rotate together. You can simply run on the first tile (the order also isn’t important here, but start either left or right), then jump on the next tiles without standing too close to the square edges or it’s possible that the flowers stop rotating. When all of them eventually rotate the central block lowers, letting you have access to a pedestal. Place the Crystal Flower facing N and get another screenshot of the courtyard pedestal, then head outside again.

All Crystals Placed: When all three Crystals are placed a transparent item appears on the central pedestal in the courtyard. Go there and grab it from the pedestal in order to finish this game.
