Aspidetr Easter Time 2015 – Flowers
Levelset by Greywolf
Walkthrough by manarch2
Watch the introductory flyby showing parts of the Art Gallery, also the name of the level you're
currently in. Afterwards head forwards and pick up the Message from the floor
in front of the animated Easter bunny painting. It says:
Easter Bunny:“I
borrowed a little nice painting, but don't worry! As soon as anyone will find
the five Easter Eggs I hid inside the Art Gallery and place them in the Coffee
Shop, I'll give back the painting. But remember, find firstly all the five
eggs, then place all them in the Coffee Shop! Greetings from
Easter Bunny.”
First Investigations
Now that you have a (vague) goal, head out of this room.
You are on the upper stage of the art gallery. There are several chambers with
paintings and a couple of visitors you can freely explore, but there's nothing
to do up here for now and you have to return here later. So run down the stairs
until you arrive near a guard and a large gate. Turn left (W): There are two
openings here leading downstairs. Take the right one down into the coffee shop.
Here you can find the five pedestals where the eggs, once found, have to be
placed. Run behind the counter to talk with the waitress.
Waitress: “These pedestals sprang up
overnight: They must have been Easter Bunny's fault. Personally I wish that
customers sprang out overnight!”
Pick up the Flares
from the floor and also grab the Large Medipack off the counter. Now run down the
stairs behind the S opening to arrive in the book shop. Approach the saleswoman
there.
Saleswoman: “Easter
Bunny is very naughty: He not only hid a painting, but also this computer
doesn't work today. I wonder which kind of virus, malware or what else he has
set inside it!”
Go towards the desk with the computer and use Action
to grab the Cloakroom Key from it –
what a good idea to hide keys in computers. Anyway, approach the guy standing
in the SE corner:
Guy: “I would like cooking Easter
Bunny with Easter Potatoes!!!”
That doesn't sound very nice, and to prevent any
atrocities in this otherwise rather peaceful museum, something has to be done
now.
The Egg in the Book Shop
Now that you've finished your investigations about the
happenings, let's start with the search for the five Easter eggs. The first
one, believe it or not, is only a few metres away
from you and in the very same room. Look at the row of bookcases – isn't there
always a hidden switch or mechanism? To maintain the cliché, there is. Head
into the SW corner and press Action in front of the bookcase here to notice
it's actually pushable. Move it forwards once to
reveal a secret part of the room. Pick up the first Easter
Egg (which seems to cause a spontaneous
cheering) and also the Brochure. The
latter one can be examined – there are two paintings visible on it, giving you
a hint on what to do next.
The Two Paintings
The first one is the “Irises” painting of Vincent van
Gogh, while the second one is “Sea Roses with Bridge” of Claude Monet. Those
two paintings can be found in the upper area of the museum where all the flower
pictures are shown. And those are your next goal. So head out
of the secret room and exit the book shop through the NE staircase, arriving
back in the main hall of the museum. Head back up the S stairs, passing
the lion statues, and get to the upper stage where you can find several doors
leading into rooms with paintings It's not a very hard
task to spot the paintings by exploring with a bit of patience. Head to the W side of the upper floor. There are two
passages in which you can find one of the two pictures each, and you can choose
any direction first. Better keep a save where you have the Brochure in your
inventory, since with the leveljumps that will soon
follow the Brochure will be lost.
The Easter Egg in the van Gogh Painting
For the “Irises” painting of van Gogh, head into the
left W passage. There are two W passages branching off – the left one being
closed with a door you can nevertheless open yourself – but both lead into the
same room. From here go into the S chamber and spot the first searched painting
in the E wall. After finding the Brochure an (invisible) passage has appeared
behind it so run in front of the painting, press Action and hoist up into the
hidden tunnel, of which you won't get to see anything as the level and you're
warped into the world of Vincent van Gogh – into a new level called Irises.
You arrive in a outside area
behind a small waterfall. There are several flowers just as in the painting you
climbed through just ahead (W) of you in a field, and in the NE corner of the
area you can find a closed door with the next egg behind it. To open it you
have to solve a puzzle with the flowers you found W of the start, so return
there and explore the place. You'll notice there are several larger flowers
surrounding five smaller flowers and one blank space. The small flowers are
actually pushable, but before starting, you have to
know what to do. Only one of the flowers, the one in the NW corner, is white,
while the others are all blue. Below the blue flower SE is a written word; if
you want you can pull the flowers away to see the word 'Vincent'. This allusion
to the creator of this painting is the destination of the white flower. To get
there you can try it out yourself or simply follow the next instructions.
Looking from the entrance (E), the six fields where
you can push the flowers onto are named as following:
A |
F |
E |
B |
C |
D |
To open the door, you have to pull the white flower on
the tile E* (* because the white flower is on that tile) onto tile B. F is
currently empty. So start pushing:
E-F*
D-E
C-D
F-C*
A-F
B-A
C-B*
After the last push that transports the white flower
on the word, the far NE door opens so head in an pick
up the Easter Egg, the only key item
in this level. In a fixed camera the following text appears:
“The White Iris, different and alone between all the
other blue ones, is a symbolic self-portrait of Vincent van Gogh.”
Head back to the waterfall SE and run into the wet to
get transported back to the Art Gallery.
Secret Detour: You could
proceed in your quest for the five eggs now but there is another secret to find
in the Irises
level. Climb back through the painting into that level. When you find
the egg, exit and re-enter this level, something has changed here. Head back to
the open doorway NE where you found the last egg. Behind it, a block has lowered, giving you access into a passage that soon gets
blocked by another closed gate. To open it, there is a bit of work to do
concerning the flowers. Return to the flower field. You have to rearrange the
flowers to open the door. I couldn't find a clue how to solve it without luck,
but anyway here is a working combination.
F-C
E-F
Head back NE and follow the passage, past the opened
door and around the corner to hear a familiar chime. Pick up the Golden Flower which is Secret #1. Further on in the tunnel, there are
three more doors with pickups behind that you might want to go for (it requires
quite a bit of pushing to open all three, though, and you might live without
the pickups, though).
First right door:
This one is already open if you followed the
combination described above. Pick up the Flares
inside the alcove.
Second right door:
Back at the pushable
flowers, you have to push only one flower:
D-E
When returning to the door you can find a Large Medipack in the
alcove.
Left door:
After opening the second right door, you have to push
the pushables around counter-clockwise for quite some
time. The exact movements are:
C-D
B-C*
A-B
F-A
E-F
D-E
C-D*
B-C
A-B
F-A
E-F
D-E*
C-D
In the passage that is revealed after the door opens
up you can find a Small Medipack.
When you've done everything you intended to do, return
to the SE waterfall and run into it to return to Art
Gallery.
Head back out of the gallery through the various
doorways and soon you'll arrive back on the upper floor of the art gallery.
The Easter Egg in the Monet
Painting
For the Monet painting, head into the right W passage.
Head through the W opening entering the room where you can find the second
searched painting on the N wall. Climb into the painting by pressing Action
right in front of it and you're transported into the picture,
that is, into another level called Waterlilies.
You'll find yourself in a larger outside area with a
waterfall just above and another one below you arriving in a shallow pond. No
bridge in sight though... Drop or dive down into the water and explore the
scene. To the E is a raised block in the floor blocking off the way into a
further passage; in the SE is a path to return to the start of this level. In
the middle of the N wall is a higher opening (something to remember for later)
that you can't access yet. For now, search for a narrow
opening in the NW corner of the pond. Swim left around the corner and
pull an underwater lever on the S wall. This lowers the block out in the pond,
so swim back out of the small tunnel, then E and before going down, get some
air first.
Now dive into the hole and the just revealed passage.
Follow it on and after some metres you arrive in a
very small maze. At the first junction swim right, then left around the corner,
then again left at the junction and grab Flares
and a Small Medipack
at the end of the short passage. Return to the junction, swim left, left around
the corner and straight at the next junction. Swim into the right passage (NE)
and you can eventually find a blocked off path, so you need to find another way
in. Return to the last junction, swim left and left at the next junction.
Follow the passage and in the next chamber swim up for air.
There are five switches in this area: One each in the
middle of the N, E and S walls, two on the W wall. If you pull any of those you
get a camera shot of several blocks lowering (or even raising, if you pull more
than one). Said block row is in fact in the NE corner of the maze, the blocked
passage you noticed earlier. Don't get mislead by the camera – the view over
the blocks is just that you know what to do, you won't be able to swim over
them as you might think now, so all blocks have to be
lowered in order to proceed. Here is a detailed list of which switch triggers
which blocks:
N switch – blocks 2,4,5
E switch – blocks 1,3,4
S switch – blocks 2,3,5
Left W switch – blocks 1,2,4
Right W switch – blocks 1,3,5
Notice that the blocks are raised
again when they are formerly lowered and you activate a corresponding switch,
but lower again when the next corresponding switch is used. So the only
solution (which is indeed highly trivial) is to pull all five switches which
opens up the path. Go for air again, then swim through
the NW passage, back in the maze swim right at both junctions and through the
just created tunnel. Follow the winding path to the end of the tunnel and climb
out of the water. Head E and pick up the Dried
Lilies in front of the wall.
Look up. There are several slopes above you, which you
can use to your advantage as there is something to find in the upper area. Head
back a bit W, then run directly in front of the S slope. Turn Lara S and backflip onto the slope behind you, then
keep holding the Jump key so that Lara jumps onto a higher slope, still hold
Jump and Lara will jump on a solid ledge in the upper part of the area. A
butterfly greets you and you can pick up the Crystal
Flower, first of two, in the NE corner. Also, a Small Medipack can be found
in the SE corner. Now drop down, best directly into the small water pool, then
swim back through the winding passage into the maze. Swim
ahead at the junction, left around the corner and then into the right passage
where you came from. Swim up, arriving back at the pond, and then to the
NW corner with very shallow water.
Before climbing out onto the shore, though, notice the
marking on the floor in the water. Press Action on this tile and Lara will
place the Dried Lilies in the water. A cutscene shows
the 'missing' bridge has now appeared, and you have access to the N opening.
Climb out of the water and up the block besides the wooden bridge. Cross that bridge and get into the N opening. Inside light a
flare and run forwards. You arrive at a junction. Choose the right (E) path
first and after a few corners you can pick up the second Crystal Flower. Head
on to the end of the passage and pick up some Flares.
Secret Detour: Light
another flare if needed, look up to the left (W) and high up you can spot a
very well concealed crawlspace. Climb up here and inside find a Golden Flower for Secret
#2. Get out of the crawlspace again.
Return all the way to the junction and head W this
time. Ignore the alcove to the left and head on right, passing a tree, and as
you bump into a wall look up to the S to find a crawlspace. Get in and follow
it to a small chamber. There are two receptacles in the N wall where you can
place the two Golden Flowers. This lowers the block in the middle of the
receptacles, and gives you access to the Easter Egg.
Everything is done in this level, so you just need to
return to the start: Get back through the S crawlspace and drop down into the
dark passage. Follow it back to the first junction, head right and out onto the
wooden bridge outside. Head far S, then follow the right ledges, run around the
corner and run into the water pool where you started this level. Climb into the
W passage and you're taken back into the Art
Gallery. Now you can head back out of the gallery rooms, shortly
arriving back on the upper hall of the main room.
Both Painting Eggs Found
When you found both eggs 'in' the two paintings, you
can leave the upper area via the S stairs; run down all the way to the floor
level.
The Easter Egg in the
Cloakroom Cellar
Head E. Here you can find both a ticket counter and a
closed door to the cloakroom.
Secret detour: Turn
your interest to the counter. Its S side is wooden, might there be a chance
that you can... yes, indeed. Take the pistols and shatter the counter wall (the
guard nearby isn't very interested in this...). Now investigate the drawers
(pressing Action in front of them) – et voilà – you can find s Bunch
of Keys here. With the keys you can now find the
first secret. Return to the W end of the lower hallway and run down the left
stairs into the book shop again. Use the just created passage to get into the
room behind the bookcases. Now look behind the pushable
bookcase in the SW corner: There is a lower section in W wall that looks different
to the rest. Duck and shatter it with the pistols, thereon crawl through the
tunnel to arrive in another area. Here you can find a closed gate with an item
behind. Luckily you've found the Bunch of Keys, so the gate can be easily
opened with those. Inside pick up the Golden
Flower, which of course
registers as Secret #3. After
claiming the secret head back to the crawlspace, use it to get back into the
book shop and return to the main hall via the SW stairs. Head
to the E and the destroyed counter again.
With the Cloakroom Key found in the book
shop, you can open the door to the cloakroom. No cloaks inside today. Just pass
on to the NE door and open it yourself. Head downstairs and you'll face an
almost maze-like wardrobe chaos. Head to the right and run towards the small
cabinet ahead to find a Small Medipack. You might already have seen the cabinet with the egg nearby, but you
can't access it from here. It's still very simple to get there: Head along the outer walls until you arrive back at the
start, then head on straight passing the entrance door to the left. Run into
the right opening, then work your way further around the outer walls. The main
path is very obvious and there's no need to explore the side passages created
by the wardrobes for now. After some time you can find the wardrobe where you
can find the second Easter Egg. That done, you can simply take the path back through
the wardrobes without any danger to get stuck somewhere. Return to the
stairway and head into the upper part of the cloakroom. Exit through the W
door.
The Easter Egg in the
Underground Area
Since you can't do anything else now, enter the SE
passage leading to the toilets. Open the first door on your right to enter the
men's toilet chamber. There are four closed toilet doors but only the second
one from the left is of (slight) value – you can at least find a Small Medipack in
there. Exit and now open the second door to the right entering the women's
toilet chamber, with four more closed doors. Only open the second one from the
right this time and pick up the Flares
in here. Still nothing to be done here for progress, so head
out and take the only remaining door to the toilet for the disabled.
Here you'll notice two things: Firstly, the toilet here is considerably smaller
than all other toilets, leaving the question which mischievous mind was
responsible for that. Secondly, and much more important, there is a very
peculiar wall (made by... rats?) to the left of the toilet, and indeed you can
shatter it with the pistols while ducking. Get into the dark crawlspace, light
a flare and move down the fairly long ramp until you arrive in a larger
underground hall.
First of all, climb the block in the SW corner and
hoist up into the W crawlspace. Pick up Flares
and get out of the crawlspace again. Before moving on, spot another egg in a
cage in the S wall, and just a few metres above a
currently impossible to reach jumpswitch. Remember it for later and return to
the NW corner, to the right of the crawlspace where you entered. Spot a ladder
here and climb it up to the top. Turn E and stand-jump (from any position) to
the swingpole in front of you, swing a bit and
release Action to jump to the further E pole, of course while pressing Action
again. Do the same trick once more to land on the far E pillar. Turn S and spot
a crevice below the slope. Take a run-jump and grab said crevice, then shimmy
right around several corners until you can climb up into an alcove.
The next part is a bit tricky and I recommend you to
take several saves in different slots. Get on the tightrope using Action. You
“only” have to get to the other side, but Lara stumbles fairly frequently and
you have to press the key into the opposite direction (left/right), if you do
something wrong Lara falls and you have to reload an earlier save. However,
saving is a bit tricky on the tightrope, as Lara often stumbles and falls after
a reload and pressing the correct key doesn't help anymore. But if you mind the
following things that won't happen: Only save when Lara is standing safely on
the pole and isn't stumbling to the left or right. Also, when you have to
reload, let Lara drop down and only then reload. If you reload when Lara is
stumbling or even just falling, the animation remains even after the reload,
and you can't help it. Keeping this in mind it's actually not that hard to get
to the other side (it's even fairly possible without a single reload).
On the W platform, you'll face a timed lever. You
remember the jumpswitch on the S wall? This is your next goal. The lever raises
a block NE of the platform you are currently standing on. So save first, use
the lever, turn around and start running slightly to the left. Take a run-jump
with another slight left curve around the slope next to you and hopefully
you'll land on the raised block – otherwise reload the earlier save. When you
finally reach said block, immediately turn and run-jump to the tightrope that
now works as a swingpole. Mind that you don't have to
land on the pole so that you are in line with the S jumpswitch – you can press
left or right while swinging to change the position later on. Anyway, you have
to line up with the jumpswitch now, then release Action and pull the switch
down.
You'll drop down in front of the just lowering cage.
Enter the alcove and claim your prize, a well-earned Easter Egg (even the applause is
quite a reward this time). Everything in this area is done, so you can return
to the NW crawlspace, light a flare and get up until you reach the toilet for
the disabled again. Get out of it and head W through the corridor until you're
taken back to the main hall.
Placing All Eggs – The Finale
When you found all the five Easter Eggs, head W and
run down the right stairway into the coffee shop.
Around the shop you can find the five receptacles for the eggs, so place them
(standing more in the middle of the respective square than the pedestal). A few
moments after the last egg is placed, a cutscene
kicks in showing you the Easter bunny has kept word, then
the game ends.
THE END
