WALKTHROUGH by Lizard Queen

 

The level starts with three choices… CLASSIC , REBIRTH and GYM TRAINING. This walkthrough is written for REBIRTH Mode.

N.B. Rebirth Mode does NOT refill health bar upon level change and contains more timed runs than Classic Mode.

LEVEL 1 – Escape from Meteorite Cavern

 

Dead Spider Cavern

Head to the east opening and take a running jump with grab to the ladder. Climb to the top and pull up.

 

SECRET #1: Travel along the ledges to the west wall. Take a running jump and grab the crevice in the west wall. Shimmy right and pull up. Crawl forward and pickup the FLARES, LARGE MEDIPACK, DESERT EAGLE, DESERT EAGLE AMMO and SMALL MEDIPACK. Safety drop to ground floor and return up to the top of the ladder in the east wall.

 

Head into the east opening and enter the crawlspace on the left.  Crawl through to the end, head up the slope and jump up and grab the monkey swing in the ceiling. Drop to the ledge ahead and take a running jump with grab to the ledge north/west. Jump up and grab the ledge north/east and pull up. Take a standing jump with grab and pull up to the ledge south/west. Pull up into the crawlspace above and climb up to the upper area.

 

Upper Meteorite Crater

Slide down the slope south, keep left to avoid the spikes and down the next slope. Slide down the next set of slopes to the very bottom of the cavern. Pull the wall switch behind the skull statue and watch a cutscene of a gate opening above. Head to the west wall and jump up and grab the crevice. Jump up and grab the higher ledge. Jump back while hanging to land on the ledge behind. Angle to face south/west and take a running jump to the small ledge.  Jump up and grab the ledge west and climb up the ledge north to the top. Take a running jump with grab south/east, pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of the gate opening in the middle ledge. Safety drop to the snowy ledge and jump to the ledge south. Push the rolling ball and watch the cutscene. Slide down the slopes and down to the ground floor.

 

RX Mines Complex

Climb the block, take a running jump over the fence and pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK on the block. Arm weapons, shoot the two GUARDS and pickup the SILVER KEY they leave behind. Head through the opening in the west wall and use the Silver Key in the lock on the left. Crawl through, drop into the water and climb out. Climb the stairs and pickup the MERCENARIES NOTE. Push the wall button and watch a cutscene of an underwater door opening. Head down the stairs and drop into the water. If NOT going for the secret, swim down through the trap door, through the opening south, up then north and east to surface for air.

 

SECRET #2: Swim down through the trap door and through the opening south. Swim forward through the dark crawlspace to the end and down for the secret. Pickup the SHOTGUN and SHOTGUN AMMO. Swim up, north then east and surface for air.

 

Climb out, pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of a door opening unleashing some monsters. Drop back into the water, swim down through the corridor then north and back up through the trap door to surface for air. Climb out of the water, head up the stairs, arm weapons and shoot the MUTANTS. Head through the door, climb the steps and pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK and FLARES. Pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of a door opening for later. Head down the steps, crawl through the crawlspace north and drop into the water. Swim down through the tunnel towards the floating MUTANT. Light a flare and the mutant will shift up. Swim under and pickup the BLUE STAR ESCAPE KEY. Swim back through the tunnel and surface for air. Climb out of the water, through the crawlspace, climb the steps and exit south back outside. Follow the icy pathway left then east back to the green RX Mines buildings. Head south between the two green buildings and use the Blue Star Escape Key in the lock at the gate. Head through the gate, watch a cutscene, shoot the two GUARDS and pickup the SILVER KEY they leave behind. Climb the wooden crates south and pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK and SMALL MEDIPACK.

 

SECRET #3: From the top of the wooden crates, angle to face north/east and take a standing jump with grab to the ledge ahead. Shimmy right around the corner and grab the jumpswitch. Watch a cutscene of a door opening near the fenced area. Drop down, head to the south/west corner and enter the door for the secret. Pickup the GRENADE GUN AMMO, HK AMMO and SHOTGUN AMMO.

 

Use the Silver Key in the lock south/west and watch the cutscene. Pickup the HELICOPTER KEY and TELEGRAM for WILLARD. Climb the wall on the left (south/east) and pickup the SMALL MEDIPACK and DESERT EAGLE AMMO. Drop down, head west up the steps on the right and pickup the SMALL MEDIPACK, DESERT EAGLE AMMO and FLARES. Head through the open gate towards the helicopter for a level change.

 

LEVEL 2 – Highland Fling

 

Outside the Castle

Slide down the slope and climb the ledge in the north/west corner. Head up the slope, angle to face south/east and take a standing jump to grab the outcrop ledge. Angle to face north/west and take a running jump with grab to the balcony. Head west, pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of a gate opening. Safety drop to ground level. Climb the bright orange foliage at the gate. Take a standing jump to the ledge north/east and safety drop down. Pull the wall lever on the south wall, head through the gate and climb the bright orange foliate again. Take a standing jump back to the ledge north/east and shoot the GUARD below. Take a running jump to the ledge south/east. Take a running jump and grab the slope south/east then pull up, backflip with twist and grab the ledge behind. Climb the triangle ledge and pull the wall switch to raise a block below. Take a standing jump and grab the slope west. Pull up, slide, jump and grab the ledge ahead. Take a running jump and grab the ledge north. Take a standing jump (with grab to change trajectory) to the ledge north/west and jump up and grab the monkey swing above. Swing to the end, drop and take a standing jump to the ledge south/west. Head to the end and take a standing jump into the alcove south/west. Head to the end of the ledge and take a running jump with grab to the ledge south/west. Take a standing jump south/east with a slight curve right and pull the wall switch. Drop into the water below, hop into the RUBBER BOAT and head through the newly opened gate.

 

Main Water Canal (West Bank)

Quickly drive left then right over the sloped ledge to avoid getting shot by a GUARD. Dismount on the right and pickup FLARES and HARPOON AMMO. Hop into the boat, drive over the ramp north and watch a flyby of the area. Park the boat by the main west dock (it will drift but won’t get stuck) and jump into the water. Swim north along the left shoreline and dive into a hole in the bottom. Swim through the underwater opening and surface for air. Swim to the north/west corner, face north/east, pull up onto the slope, jump with twist and grab the ledge behind. Shimmy left, pull up, pull the wall switch and watch a flyby of a gate opening up in the main area. Drop back into the water, pull the underwater lever in the south wall and watch a cutscene of two gates opening above. Pickup the SHOTGUN AMMO, SMALL MEDIPACK and FLARES at the bottom, exit via the underwater opening in the east wall and through the hole above to surface for air back in the main area. Swim south and pull up at the main west dock.

 

Upper Water Cavern

Head up the walkway, hug the left wall to an opening in the cliff side north above the water cavern. Take a running jump to the ledge north/west, a running jump to the ledge north/east and a standing jump to the ledge south/east. Push the floor lever and watch a cutscene of a gate opening on the upper ledge in the west wall. Jump back via the ledges and take a running jump to the ledge in the west wall. Head through the opening, push the floor lever to open the trap door above. Pull the west wall lever and the south wall lever to open several gates to a flame source. Climb the ladder to the flame source for later, exit via the gate east then south down the leafy walkway with a hairpin turn north. Head up the stairs through the corridor to an opening east above the main water canal.

 

Path to the Torch

Take a running jump to the ledge east and a running jump to grab the rope. Swing and grab the ledge east. Pull up and use the zipline down to the slope south. Head to the north/east side of the column, jump up and grab the crevice then jump up to the top. Take a running jump to the ledge south/east and pickup a TORCH. Use the HINT CRYSTAL (if you like) to see where to take the torch. Angle to face south/west and take a standing jump over the railing. Continue south/west and slide down the slope. Continue south/west to the gated ramp and take a running jump west. Continue west up the slope and toss the torch onto the stone walkway. Climb the block, pickup the SMALL MEDIPACK and FLARES and drop back down to the dock. Pickup the torch left on the pathway, head up the stone pathway through the entrance then up the leafy path north. Arm weapons and shoot the GUARD from behind the safety of the boxes. Pickup the torch, head left through the water into the west alcove with the flame, reverse roll and shoot the DOG. Pickup the torch, light the torch on the flame and head to the east wall. Light the two wall sconces and enter the room. Continue up the stairs south to a balcony and watch a flyby of the impressive vista ahead.

 

Upper Castle Bridge (to the East Bank)

Head onto the small roof south/east and shoot the CROW. Head north/east, take a step and a hop back from the edge then a running jump with grab up to the castle wall.  Hug the left wall and head to the north/west corner of the roof. Take standing jumps east and a running jump at the end then shoot the GUARD hiding on the right. Crawl through the 1st crawlspace south/east and pickup the SMALL MEDIPACK, FLARES and HARPOON AMMO. Pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of the ramp. Exit the crawlspace, head south and crawl through the 2nd crawlspace north/east. Pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of two gates opening on both sides of the ramp. Exit the crawlspace and head east to the bottom of the ramp. Head left through the gate north and take a running jump with grab to the ledge over the gap. Pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of a gate opening below and a door opening above a ladder south. Exit the alcove and take a running jump with grab south. Climb down and grab the ladder down to ground level.

 

Rotating Blades Room (East Bank)

Head through the gate north. Wait for the rotating blades to move east, take a running jump with grab and pull up to the ledge east. Pull the wall switch to open the gate below. Take a running jump west, grab the ladder and climb down. When the rotating blades pass, head through the opened gate east. Pickup the CELTIC SWORD from the platform. Exit the alcove to the right or left of the rotating blades, climb the ladder west and through the corridor back outside.

 

Climb the ladder south, take a standing jump across the small gap and pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK on the right (west). Jump up and grab the monkey swing, swing forward then right keeping to the right side. Stop two rungs before the opening, then jump forward (ALT+UP ARROW) to land in the alcove. Take a running jump down to the small platform and push the wall switch. Watch a cutscene of a gate opening to a floor lever above. Shoot the box and pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK and LOCK PICK (FRAGILE). Use the HINT CRYSTAL (if you like) to see what to do with the lock pick later on. Slide into the water, swim south/west and climb out. Take a standing jump to the bridge north/west and head north to the middle. Take a standing jump to the column west and another standing jump to the structure west. Head around to the other side and pull the wall switch. Watch a cutscene of a gate opening to a timed run switch in the north wall. Head east back to the bridge and continue north. Take a standing jump up the slope east, head up the slope north and climb up to the opening in the north wall. TIMED RUN: Pull the wall switch, cancel the cutscene and hop back down to ground level. Reverse roll, run with running jumps left (east) and take a running jump with grab to the crevice in the east wall. Jump up to the alcove and through the opening before the gate closes. Shoot the box and pickup the SKULL KEY under the corpse. Exit the alcove, take a standing jump to the triangle ledge on the left. Jump up and grab the crevice east and jump up to the ledge above. Pickup the two HK AMMO, safety drop down to grab the crevice and down to the triangle ledge. Slide into the water, swim south/west and climb out. Take a standing jump to the bridge north/west and drop into the water west.

 

Main Water Canal (West Bank)

Swim down to the underwater wood block and pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK, HARPOON AMMO and SHOTGUN AMMO. Swim south/west to the west dock and head up the stone pathway. Head through the opening west, up the stairs north and down the stairs east. Use the Lock Pick on the locked door and enter the crawlspace. Safety hang outside then jump up and grab the monkey swing above. Swing to the ledge north, drop and crawl through the crawlspace. Pull the wall switch to open the gate east. Head to the opening east and take a running jump with grab to the 1st rope. Swing and grab the 2nd rope. Swing and jump to the ledge east. Crawl through the south crawlspace and head to the middle of the corridor. Face east and take a running jump with grab to the ledge. Push the floor lever and watch a cutscene of a gate opening. Take a running jump with grab to the alcove east and use the zipline down to the east bank.

 

Wine Cellar (East Bank)

Head through the east gate and down the stairs to the bottom of the cellar. TIMED RUN: Push the wall switch, backflip to the slope, jump forward to the next slope and backflip to the raised grate. Jump forward and grab the slope before the platform lowers. Pull up, slide then jump and grab the ledge west. Pull up, angle to face south/east and run off the ledge to grab the slope. Shimmy right and climb into the alcove. Pull the wall switch to open the gate above. Backflip to the slope and jump forward to grab the ledge above. Pull up and head through the newly opened gate. Take a running jump with grab to the column west, a standing jump to the ledge west and pickup the CELTIC SWORD from the dead skeleton. Take a standing jump with grab to the column west, a running jump with grab to the ledge and head through the gate. Run off the ledge to the slope north/east, grab the edge and safety drop to ground level. Exit up the stairs west back outside to the east bank.

 

Route to Upper Castle Bridge (East Bank)

Head north then west and climb the ladder on the column south. Take a running jump over the gap and jump up to grab the monkey swing. Swing south until the last two rungs then jump forward to land in the south alcove.  Climb up the ladder then backflip with twist to the ledge behind and exit. Head to the west end of the bridge and place the two Celtic Swords in the receptacles to lower a block in the west wall. TIMED RUN: Pull the wall switch, immediately cancel the cutscene and do a backflip/twist and run/jump to the 1st block slightly to the left. Continue with a running jump and skim or run off the 2nd block on the right. Then run/jump between the crates on the ground and sprint up the ramp before the gate closes.

 

North Ledge

Head left, take a running jump with grab to the north ledge. Take a running jump to the ledge south/east and use the Skull Key in the lock. Watch a cutscene of the gate opening on the north ledge. Take a running jump to the north ledge, head through the gate and through the corridor to a timed wall switch. TIMED RUN: Pull the wall switch, immediately cancel the cutscene, reverse roll and run out of the alcove. Take a running jump over the hole in the floor and a running jump over the ledge south. Take a running jump and grab the orange leafy wall and climb to near the top. Jump with a twist to the ledge behind and continue running. Take a running jump with grab to the ledge, pull up and quickly enter the door ahead before it closes. Exit the room, take a running jump to the ledge and pull the wall switch on the left (east) to lower a trap door in the floor. Take a running jump with grab to the ledge and head through the gate. TIMED RUN (1st): Pull the wall switch, cancel the cutscene, reverse roll and exit the alcove. Take a running jump to the ledge south and drop through the trap door in the floor. Shoot the GUARD and take a running jump with grab to the orange leafy wall south. Climb near the top, jump with twist to the ledge behind. Head north, take a running jump with grab to the north ledge and head through the gate. TIMED RUN (2nd): Pull the wall switch, cancel the cutscene, reverse roll and exit the alcove. Take a running jump to the ledge south and drop through the trap door in the floor. Reverse roll and head through the door before it closes. Exit the room back to the south ledge.

 

South Ledge

Head right and take a running jump with grab to the south ledge. Shoot the CROW, head west to the edge, face south then grab and climb down the leafy wall. Face south/east and run off the ledge to land on the lower ledge. Pull the wall lever and watch a cutscene of a block lowering. Head east and climb the triangle ledge. Take a running jump to the triangle ledge north/west and a running jump to the triangle ledge south/west. Head around the corner and take a standing jump to the rocky slope south. Take a standing jump to the grassy slope and climb the block. Angle to face north/east and take a standing jump with grab to the triangle ledge. Pull up, push the floor lever and watch a cutscene of the gate lowering in the south ledge. Face south and run off the ledge to the grassy slope. Slide north then climb the orange leafy wall as high as possible. Climb left around the corner as far as possible and drop down to the south ledge.  Head down the stairs, climb the ledge on the left and shoot the GUARD. Shoot the BELL on the left (south), watch a cutscene of the gate dropping above the ladder then drop down to the lower floor.

 

SECRET #4: Crawl into the crawlspace north (ALT + UP ARROW keys to climb in and out) and pickup the SHOTGUN and two SHOTGUN AMMO. Exit the crawlspace back to the pool.

 

Climb back up the stairs north, face east and jump up and grab the slope. Shimmy right as far as possible, pull up, jump back, slide a bit then curve right and grab the small ledge east. Pull up, pull the wall switch and watch a cutscene of a spiked fence lowering in an upper area. Drop into the water and pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK, UZI AMMO and SHOTGUN AMMO on the sunken wooden crate. Surface, climb the ladder and head right. TIMED RUN: Pull the wall switch, cancel the cutscene and head left. Take a running jump to the ledge below and run/jump up the stairs. Take a running jump with grab to the ledge, pull up and enter the door on the right before it closes. Shoot the GUARD inside, climb the block and take a running jump with grab to the ledge east. Push the floor lever and watch a cutscene of a door opening in the lower floor. Safety drop down, head into the alcove and pickup the BLUE STAR KEY. Exit the room west, head right and enter the next room on the right. Climb the ledge north and use the Blue Star Key in the lock. Head through the door, drop into the water and swim to the south/west corner. Climb out onto the ledge, angle to face north/west and take a running jump to the slope. Jump back and forth then grab the parallel bar. Swing and grab the next pole and jump to the ledge ahead. Take a standing jump and grab the ledge north/east, crawl through the space and push the floor lever. Watch a cutscene of the door opening in the previous room. Slide down to the water below, climb out and exit the room. Head up the stairs back to the main hallway.

 

Mini Quest for the Remaining SECRETS:

Head back down the ramp and head to the north/west corner of the roof. Take a standing jump down to the small balcony. Take a standing jump west over the railing to a small grassy ledge.  Head north along the grassy slope, slide down the slope and pull the wall switch in the alcove west to open a gate to a secret above. Pickup the LARGE MEDIPACK and drop into the water.

 

SECRET #5: Back in the water (West Bank) swim to the middle structure and enter the underwater triangular opening north/west. Pull the underwater lever, lowering a block. Pickup the two ROCKET AMMO and surface for air. Pickup the two GRENADE GUN AMMO for the secret. Pull lever again to raise the block back up if you are getting this secret early in the level.  

 

SECRET #6: Swim to the main dock (West Bank). Head up the cobblestone walkway (West Bank), through the doorway and half way up the leafy walkway. Turn around and take a running jump to the grassy ledge south/east.  Take a standing jump with grab and pull the jumpswitch lowering an underwater trap door in the floor. Head through the corridor and stairs north and drop through the trap door. Pickup the UZIS and two UZI AMMO for the secret. Climb out back to the main floor.

 

SECRET #7: From the main floor, head up the leafy pathway north, through the shallow water and through the gate on the left (west). Climb down the ladder, re-push the floor lever to close the trap door above and the gate with the two torch sconces. Watch a cutscene of the gate opening above.  Head down the slope east, take a running jump south/east and another running jump to the slope south/east. Head up the slope south, up the leafy pathway north. Take a run at the west gate then roll (> and / keys) under the gate and head to the opened door on the right. Head through the crawlspace and pickup the ROCKET LAUNCHER and ROCKET AMMO for the secret. Exit the crawlspace and run with roll under the gate.

 

SECRET #8: Head through the opening east between the two wall sconces. Continue up the stairs south to the balcony. Head onto the small roof south/east and head north/east. Take a step and a hop back from the edge then a running jump with grab up to the castle wall.  Hug the left wall and head to the north/west corner of the roof. Head to the north/west corner of the roof. Take a standing jump down to the small balcony. Take a standing jump west over the railing to a small grassy ledge. Head north along the grassy slope, grab the edge and shimmy right. Pull up and take a running jump to the small grassy patch north. Pull up into the opening in the rock and pickup the HARPOON GUN, HARPOON AMMO, FLARES and SMALL MEDIPACK for the secret. Exit the alcove, drop to the grassy slope and slide down to the bottom. Drop back into the water, swim south back to the main dock and climb out west. Head up the pathway and through the doors west. Continue up the leafy pathway north, past the boxes then through the opening east and up the stairs south back outside.  Head onto the small roof south/east and take a running jump with grab to the castle wall north/east.

 

Head back up the ramp east and through the left opening in the east wall. Head through the opening north/east and watch a cutscene of the ending to the level.
