LEVEL 1: RAIDER'S OVERTURE 1

 

First Fuse

Start sliding onto the roof and jump in last moment so you land into the fountain and not to your dead. Get out and pull the switch in the W wall to open doors, enter and pick up a small medipack behind a seat next to the W wall; go to the SW corner and locate a movable block attached to the wall, pull it several times so you can climb the E high bookcase and get the first Fuse.

 

The Art Gallery

Now go through the opening in the SW corner, shoot the rats and in the WC with the open door pick up the Keycard. Back to the fountain courtyard, use the keycard to open the NE door. Enter and pick up the Gold Key on the window sill. Go outside and climb the scaffolding to reach the upper ledges, climb the opening in the N wall and push the gray block (1 of 3) once to get a secret later; open the Art Gallery door, enter, go right and look for a tile in the floor with a spot similar to the silhouette of a bird (1 of 5), step onto it to open a door in the main library (later); now go to the small room in the NE corner, pull the switch to lower a trapdoor in the ceiling, use the scaffolding to get there and climb up to the ducts.

 

Two Brass Keys

Shoot the rat, go to the place where it came from and walk through the barbed wires to get a large medipack, go to the opposite side and slide down the slope backwards to minimize damage. In the Lobby room pull the switch as a shortcut to get back to the fountain courtyard and pick up 2 X Brass Key on the E ledge; now go to the Library Hall.

 

The Main Library

Look for a tile in the floor with a spot similar to the silhouette of a bird (2 of 5) between the bookcases in the right hand side (last bookcases), step onto it and now locate an opening in the N wall with a gray block (2 of 3) similar to the one you pushed time ago in the high ledges of the fountain courtyard; push it once. From this opening you can jump to the top of the bookcases,  look for two tiles with a spot similar to the silhouette of a bird (3 and 4 of 5) step onto them, climb the W chandelier and take a running jump N over the balustrade, go left (E) to the very end and in the corner with the seats look for the last tile with the silhouette of the bird (5 of 5), step onto it to see a door opening somewhere. Now go through the nearby opening in the N wall to get the second Fuse. Go out and down to the floor of the main library.

 

Third Fuse

Locate the door you opened with the 5 "bird" tiles near the SW corner; enter and in this second library shoot the rats and locate an opening in the N wall with a gray block (3 of 3) similar to the ones you pushed time ago in the high ledges of the fountain courtyard and in the main library; push it once to get a camera shot of the Art Gallery room. From this opening (or from the scaffolding) you can reach the top of the bookcases and get the third Fuse near the NW corner. Drop down and go back to the main library.

 

Last Fuse - The Silver Key

In the E wall there's an opening with double doors you can open with one of the brass keys, enter and pick up the fourth Fuse on the crates in the SW corner (note the receptacle next to the crane, for later); back to the main library go to an opening near the SE corner and open the door of the Maintenance Room with the second brass key, shoot the rat and place the fuses to open a door somewhere, go out, left and right from the corner to find it. From this small room run down the stairs to a sort of basement, shoot the rats and continue to a room where you can get the Silver Key.

 

Ducts Area

Go back up to the library and from here to the fountain courtyard (opening in N wall), use the silver key to open the door of the Computer Lab and once inside pick up the Circuit Board behind the counter, go back to the library and to the room with the crane (W wall), place the circuit and drop through the hole, drop through the next one, walk through the barbed wires, take a running jump to the ledge with the switch, pick up the small medipack and pull it to lower a trapdoor somewhere. Exit through the opening with the broken grate, pull the switch to raise a trapdoor and take a diagonal jump back and forth onto the slope to grab the high crack, shimmy left, drop through the next hole and in this room pick up the Ruins Map: the exit door opens.

 

The Upper Bathroom Key

In the next room shoot a bat and pull the switch to open the exit door: you are back in the room where you got the silver key time ago. The crate next to the S wall is movable, place it under the open trapdoor in the ceiling, climb up and finally get the Upper Bathroom Key. Go back to the main library, to the upper ledges with the balustrades and locate the door in the W side.

 

Detour for a secret: if you pushed the three gray blocks in the niches, go to the big opening in the N wall, pull the switch to create a shortcut to the main fountain courtyard, go right and to the art gallery; inside, look for an open "painting door" in the S wall to get the SECRET #1: a Secret Gold Bar.

 

Go back to the upper ledges of the main library, open the last door, shoot the rats and climb the window sill to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 2: ONWARDS AND UPWARDS

 

Lake Area

After the slide drop through the hole in the right side, shoot the bats and the wolf, pick up the small medipack and the shotgun shells and climb the E opening covered by weeds, pull the switch to open the door and advance to a lake area. Climb the ledge in the SW corner near the entrance, jump to the N rock, roll, jump S to the next one, climb the next block and pull the switch to raise a nearby trapdoor, use it to reach the high ledge in the E side of the lake. Go through the opening timing the swinging blade, climb the next opening and shoot the bats.

 

Room with the Spiked Pit

Approach to the left side of the entrance ledge and take a running jump E-SE to grab the edge of the sloped rock, pull up, slide and take a running jump to the E side of the pit. In the next room pull the switch to open a door in the main lake area and pick up the large medipack the movable block hides; go back to the pit. Take a running jump to the S ledge where you came from and to get the first secret of this level drop/grab the edge and shimmy to the very left, drop down losing some health and pick up the SECRET #2: a Secret Gold Bar, pull the nearby switch to raise a trapdoor in the N side, go to the NW corner of the spiked floor and jump back and forth onto the slope to grab the trapdoor; go back to the main lake area.

 

The Old Key

Jump into the water and swim N and W to find a sloped ledge you can climb near the corner, from here you can take a standing jump to grab the wooden bridge and turn left to find the door you opened moments ago; enter, shoot the wolves and run over the breakable tile. Situate Lara in the E side of the hole and jump back to drop/grab in last moment after passing the edge to land onto an opening in the wall below, pick up the Old Key and go back to the lake.

 

For a secret: pull the timed UW lever behind the N pillar, quickly swim W and climb the sloped ledge in the corner, take a standing jump to grab the wooden bridge as you did before, this time take a running jump to the top of the pillar with the lever below and another one (no grab) to the lower opening in the E wall, take a diagonal standing jump S-SW to the next block and a final running jump W to the ledge with the open door to get the SECRET #3: a Secret Gold Bar.

 

The Gate Key

Now take a running jump back to the rocks in the E side of the lake and a standing jump to the opening to your right, continue E and in the room with the big slope take a running jump to the E side to slide to the gray safe tile in the corner avoiding the rolling boulders this way, shoot the bear, climb the ledge where it was and pull the switch to open the E double doors, take a long running jump to land onto the safe block in the pit and another jump to the ledge with the Gate Key. Make your way to go back to the lake area (not difficult) using the flatter tiles in the slopes.

 

Go back to the top of the bridge and this way take a curved running jump NE to grab the edge of the rock, from here take a standing jump N-NE and trespass the cascade; in the next room get out of the water, pull the movable block, pick up 2 X shotgun shells in the niche and climb the block to reach the high opening, drop through the hole with the breakable tile, shoot the wolves and pull the switch if you want to create a shortcut to the lake area. Use the old key to open the W door and fin a second lake area with many wooden bridges.

 

Second Lake Area

Cross the first bridge and in the next passage try to avoid the rolling boulder, continue through the opening to your right and in the pit face E and take a standing jump with grab to land into the niche with the switch, pull it but don't cross this second bridge, turn left and take a long running jump S (no grab) to the ledge with the slope and to the corner with the shotgun shells; climb the trapdoor and push the movable block twice, push the next movable block once and pull the switch to retract a rock somewhere. Go back outside and take a standing jump to land onto the block with the lowest bridges, go to the N end and turn left to find the opening where the rock retracted. Jump there.

 

Room with Three Switches

In this room shoot the bear and go E to the room where you got the gate key time ago to get a large medipack (only if you opened the double doors when staying there); back in the room with the three switches pull the movable block twice and pull all three switches (I did it from left to right), quickly jump onto the movable block, climb the tall block (it has moved from the corner but it's timed) and jump to grab the edge of the ledge with the second tall block, don't pull up but shimmy all the way left until you touch the tall block and wait a moment hanging from the ledge so it moves to the right side of it; now it's time to pull up, climb the trapdoor in the corner and jump to the W ledge; go to a ledge overlooking the lake area and pull the switch to your left to raise a trapdoor so you can go back to the room where you came from to this second lake area (there's a key you didn't use yet in the room where you used the first old key). Jump to the wooden bridge in the S side and go right, pull the switch to open the door, shoot the bats and climb the block in the corner to get the first Cog, pull the switch to raise a trapdoor and create a shortcut to the first lake area.

 

To get extra pickups: go behind the rocky wall in the SW corner, drop through the hole with the breakable tile, shoot the bats and pick up the large and small medipacks, shotgun shells and go back to the second lake; take the same route to go all the way back up to the highest wooden bridge in the S side of the second lake area as you did before.

 

Cross the bridge to the other side and the next door automatically opens.

 

Second Cog

Drop to the very bottom (right side) and in the room with the spikes shoot the bear and pick up 2 X Old Key, go outside and open the E door, pull the block outside and place it blocking the entrance of the room with spikes (the door will close and the wheels stop). Climb to the entrance of this room and don't go outside but climb the N opening, continue N to the next section and jump into the water, locate the UW lever near the NW corner and pull it to raise a nearby trapdoor, jump there (from the SW corner) and jump to the N niches to get shotgun shells and use the second old key to open the UW door near the NE corner, swim there and use the UW lever to open the door near the SW corner, swim to the next UW room (room with spikes, now flooded) and left through the greenery in the W wall to get the second Cog, pull the UW lever and swim back to the room with the raised trapdoor, use it to reach the top of the cascade, jump into the E waters to find the last open door and swim through to land into the second lake.

 

Placing the Cogs

From the ledge in the SE corner jump onto the lower wooden bridge, go to the room with three switches and repeat all the tasks so you reach the highest wooden bridge in the S side of the second lake area.

 

For a secret: face S and take a running jump with grab to the cataract, you'll trespass it and land into some water canal below, climb the ledge in the right side to get the SECRET #4: a Secret Gold Bar; jump into the water and pull the UW switch to open the exit door and get back to the first lake area.

 

Climb the wooden bridge as you did before and go to its N side (if you pulled the switch to open the shortcut before) to the room where you used the first old key; this time use the gate key (NW corner) to open the trapdoor and drop through the hole, place the wheels and pull the switch to open double doors in the previous room, go back up and run there to finish this level.

 

 

 

LEVEL 3: EYES ON THE PRIZE

 

Going Down

From the entrance turn right and take a standing jump to the NW corner, you'll slide and land onto a flatter tile, now face S and take a running jump with a left curve, slide/grab/drop; now take a running jump NE (but not to the very corner), slide and jump in last moment to land onto a safe tile in the corner; now take a running jump S to the tile with the Automatic Pistols, from here take a running jump E-NE (beware of the low ceiling) and slide onto a safe tile; from here safely drop to the bottom of the pit.

 

First Serpent Crystal

Advance S, shoot the wolves, pick up the shotgun shells and continue until you find signs of civilization; look for automatic pistols ammo in a corner and continue through the E passage (left side), soon you'll find an open door and a large area. Jump onto the hanging ledge to your right and to the N wide ledge, take a running jump to the opening in the NE building and climb to its roof; pick up the large medipack and jump to the roof of the S building, continue jumping to the very SW corner to pull a switch, back to the roof, drop down onto the W ledges and take a running jump W to get the Serpent Crystal, shoot a bat and go all around jumping clockwise to the niche with the switch in the very NE corner, pull it to open a door in the SE building and go there.

 

Second Serpent Crystal

Pick up the automatic pistols ammo and run up the steps shooting a raptor on your way, from the opening overlooking the main area go right and take a standing jump with grab to land onto the block below, jump to the S platform and pull the movable block out of the wall and aside to flood this area. Now explore the room to get shotgun shells, automatic pistols ammo and the second Serpent Crystal from the top of one of the statues. Go back to the main area the way you came. In the NE corner of this area (ground floor) there is a small medipack to pick up behind the gray pillar.

 

Third Serpent Crystal

Now climb the orange blocks in the S side of the room (from the gray rock in the left side), continue running/jumping clockwise all around the room over the roofs until you reach an opening in the very SW corner of this area; continue climbing (jump back and forth onto the slope) and finally slide to the bridge where the third Serpent Crystal is. To get extra pickups: go back to the W wooden fences, slide down to the SE corner of the roof and take a standing jump with grab to the niche in the S rocky wall to get a large medipack and shotgun shells. Safely drop to the floor.

 

Using the Crystals

Go to the very NW corner behind the pillar and jump around to grab the small wooden ledge attached to the S side of the building, enter, shoot the bats and place the crystals in the empty serpent heads; jump into the pool and swim until you can surface. In this room climb the small wooden ledge in the NE corner and also the first and the second rocky beams. Detour for a secret: approach to the SW corner and take a standing jump with grab S-SW to land into a niche covered with vegetation in the S wall; save your game (timed switch), pull the switch and quickly go back to the main outside area, forget the raptors and climb the S orange blocks as you did before, continue running and jumping clockwise until you reach the NE building with the skeleton inside and the open door with the SECRET #5: a Secret Gold Bar. Back outside, shoot the raptors and go all the way back to the rocky beams as you did before.

 

To the Top of the Main Area

Now jump onto the pad trigger tile in the NW corner to raise a trapdoor in the higher part of the S wall so you can climb the high S opening, run up the stairs, shoot the wolves and in the next room pick up automatic pistols ammo on the ledge with the skeleton. From the opening overlooking the main outside area jump onto the hanging ledge and take a running jump to grab the edge of the grassy S slope, shimmy right and climb to the roof of the building you came from. From the N side take a running jump N-NE to land onto the white rocks, slide/grab the edge and shimmy right until you can pull up; jump to the next flatter tile and take a standing jump with roll so you slide backwards onto the N slope, shimmy a bit right, pull up and jump back to land onto the hanging ledge, from here take a running jump to the N opening. At the end of the passage slide and jump in last moment with a left curve landing onto the grassy small ledge, go left and pull the switch to open the next door.

 

First Beast Effigy

In the room with wide stairs try to avoid the rolling boulders and to get the next secret climb the niche in the NW corner just in front of the entrance, push the block to your left and get the SECRET #6: a Secret Gold Bar. Now go up the stairs and push the movable block in the SE corner so you can reach the high opening, jump over the spiked hole and take a standing jump with grab to land onto the small wooden ledge below. Inside the next building pick up the first Beast Effigy, the automatic pistols ammo and pull the switch to open a door in a building outside.

 

Back to the Beginning

From the small wooden ledge at the entrance take a standing jump to the bridge where you got the last crystal, jump onto the sloped roof (right side), shimmy right to the flat tile in the corner, take a standing jump to the hanging ledge and another standing jump with grab to the opening with the open door. Go back to the starting room of this level shooting some raptors on your way.

 

Timed Run in the Pit

Go left and through the right passage in the E wall, avoid the darts the best you can and when you find the spiked pit take an angled standing jump to grab an invisible crack in the right hand wall and shimmy left, shoot the raptor, time the swinging blades, shoot another raptor, drop down to the bottom of the next pit and climb the ledge with the timed switch; pull it and jump back to the other side of the pit (not to the very top) and use the higher wooden ledges to reach the open N doors before they close.

 

Pool Room

Forget the switch in the niche to your left, that timed run is too tight (at least for me); what I did was, from the center of the entrance edge overlooking the pool, turn left and take a standing jump to the broken pillar in the left side and without stop take a running jump with a left curve to grab the edge of the opening in the S wall (another option is to jump to the broken pillar and take a walking-running jump because the low ceiling; not easy either). Once inside the corridor, pull the timed switch and quickly go outside, jump onto the rocky ledges over the pool to reach the high N opening before they disappear; again, another timed sequence here, pull the switch and jump onto the next rocky ledges to finally reach the E side of the pool.

 

Second Beast Effigy

Once you are success climb the block in the SE corner and take an angled running jump to the high opening covered with vegetation in the S wall, step onto the pad trigger tile to open a nearby door, jump into the pool and get out of the water near the SE corner, pull the switch to open the double doors in the E platform and swim back to the entrance of this pool room (climb from the NW corner). Use the rocky ledges to return to the E side of the pool (this time without timed runs), shoot the raptors and pick up shotgun shells and the second Beast Effigy. Go back to the W side of the pool: the exit doors are now open.

 

Last Secret

Detour for a secret: swim to the SW side of the pool to find another of those openings covered by plants, pull the timed switch and swim as fast as you can to the E side of the pool to find an open trapdoor in the floor behind one of the pillars and get the SECRET #7: a Secret Gold Bar. Pull the UW lever twice to open the door and make your way to go back to the starting room of this level the way you came from.

 

The Lava River

Go up the steps behind the S wooden fence and open the door with the effigies, save your game because in the next room you must run and jump over a series of breakable tiles to reach a safe ledge in the far S side of the room avoiding several rolling boulders on your way (not very hard); when you are success take a running jump to the W ledge with the switch and pull it to release a block from the ceiling. Continue climbing S to get the Chamber Key; go back down to the lower safe block.

 

Going from Bank to Bank

Facing NW take a standing jump to the second slope in the W wall, slide/grab the edge, pull up and drop with grab in last moment (once Lara's hands have passed the edge) to land onto the black slope below, shimmy a bit left, pull up and jump back to land onto the fallen block, continue E and left, take a running jump (beware of the low ceiling) to cross to the other side of the lava river and continue jumping onto the safe rocks until you eventually find a room with a wall switch, pull it to release more blocks, go E and use the first block to cross again to the E side of the lava river. This time go right, take a curved running jump to the block in the right corner, climb and jump to the next block in the lava river, continue jumping from block to block to the N and from the last one take a running jump (no grab) to the E opening, again climb several times until you reach a high ledge with a keyhole.

 

Raising Trapdoors

Go left/right and take a standing jump over the slope to your left, slide, jump to the raised trapdoor and run and jump to the W side of the lava river. Go right and locate the switch to raise a trapdoor at the other side of the river, repeat the maneuver (jump over the slope to your left, slide, jump and grab the E trapdoor) to cross to the other side and pull a new switch (timed); jump back to the previous trapdoor and quickly take a running jump to the SW slope, shimmy right to the trapdoor and jump to the opening before it opens. Again another switch to pull and again repeat the same maneuver (jump over the slope to your left, slide, jump and grab the E trapdoor) to cross to the other side (this time jump to the right side).

 

The Gate Key

In the room with the spiked pit, time the swinging blade and jump to the slope to your left, shimmy right, pull up, jump back onto the tall block and pick up the Gate Key; take a standing jump with grab timing the blade again to return to the corridor. Go left (N) and push the block to clear the way, continue in N direction to find the corridor with the keyhole you visited before; open the door, climb the block and grab the edge of the slope to your right, shimmy right, pull up and jump back and forth to grab the edge of a higher slope, shimmy left, pull up and jump back and forth to grab the edge of a higher slope, shimmy right, pull up and jump back onto a flat ledge; continue climbing two blocks and in the last shimmy left don't go to the very end but only to the first part of the last slope, pull up and jump without stop three times to reach the highest ledges.

 

Back to the Very Beginning

In the next room run and jump to the block to your left and to the next one to your right, climb and shoot a raptor in the corridor; in the next room move the block to the corner so you can reach the high opening; climb and shoot the raptors, go to the room with spikes to step onto a pad trigger tile and move a tall block in the N side of the previous room, quickly (it's timed) run there and from the grassy sloped block take a running jump to reach its top; pull the high switch to open the exit doors.

 

The Quartz Talisman

Exit and find yourself in the very beginning of the level; as you did before go down to the very bottom of the deep pit (see the "Going Down" paragraph of the third level of this walkthrough) and to the end of the cave area; this time don't go to the room with checkered floor and orange pillars, but turn around and take a running jump to the opening in the W wall, continue and at middle way there's an opening leading to that room if you want a small medipack; anyway go to the end of the passage and use the key to open the trapdoor at your feet, drop and find a room with sloped walls leading to a deadly hole in the floor. Here take a running jump to the slope to your left and jump back onto a flatter tile, jump N to the next flatter tile and back and forth onto the N slope to grab the edge of the hanging ledge where the Quartz Talisman is: the water flows E and W so the central hole is flooded now and you can safely slide there.

 

Exiting the Level

Swim and let the current takes you to an UW caves, when you get the control of Lara swim right (W), left at the junction and left again to find an UW lever, pull it, go out and go right (S) and left to take a breath in the air hole in the ceiling; now swim E to the very end, right (N) and left to find the open door, continue swimming through the cascade and when you get out of the water the adventure ends.
