THE CITY OF GODS 2: The Forgotten Passage

BIG SLOPES

You are sliding down a slope. Make a flip to slide backwards and grab the edge at the end, so that you will not lose health. Repeat that at each slope, at the third one go down the ladder to pick up SECRET #1. Climb the opposite ladder and slide down two more slopes. You are now at the top of a huge room.

TOP OF HUGE ROOM

Make your way to the East side by making jumps on little platforms with fire under them, and two rope swings. In the East side, there are three dark big alcoves. Jump to the first one.

FIRST SPOOKY ALCOVE

In this large and dark corridor, open two sarcophagus located each side of a closed door. Pick up the shotgun and some ammos. Backtrack a bit: there is a climbable wall with a crawlspace at the top hidden by some greenery. Climb and you will be in a corridor with three swinging axes. Go straight forward until the end, turn left. You see a little circular thing to shoot. Use revolver+lasersight (you got these weapons from the previous level) to deactivate a deadly spiked trap.

The spikes remain, run through them losing a little health. Continue and you will be soon at the entrance of a big labyrinth.

LABYRINTH

Go left, go always left, you will find flares. Don't mind the bats. Continue to always going left (except when there is a dead end) until you find red shotgun ammo. Go ahead and turn right (left is a dead end). At the next crossroads turn right, you will find normal arrows. Go ahead (South) and turn right, you will find revolver ammo.
Backtrack just a bit and immediately turn right (South), then turn right immediately again, you will find flares. Don't pick them up (it's a spiked trap) but continue, now it is straightforward until you find the SMALL WATERSKIN on a pedestal. Pick it up, a little earthquake occurs: the labyrinth is completely remapped.

ESCAPE THE LABYRINTH

Turn back. Right and left are dead ends. Go ahead.

Next intersection: right is a dead end (go left).

Next intersection: turn right.

Long corridor: don't mind the flares on the left (spiked trap) go ahead. At the end of the long corridor, turn the first way on the right.

In the new corridor, don't mind the first way on the right (dead end) take the second one on the right.

Now it's easy: turn left, turn left, go ahead until the end, turn left, turn right, turn right. Continue straight forward, you will find the exit.

SECOND SPOOKY ALCOVE

Go ahead, avoiding to walk on some spiked tiles. There is crawlspace on the left with some greenery. Crawl in and go down. You see another circular thing to shoot to deactivate a deadly spiked trap. The spikes remain, run through them losing a little health. Continue and you will be soon in another room with more spiked tiles, an exit above a block on the left (it's a dead end), a climbable wall with a crawlspace hidden by some greenery in front of you leading to SECRET #2 and the exit on the right. Go right, you will be in the second alcove above the huge room.

Jump on the little floating platform, then face North and jump to the rope and swing in diagonal to the third alcove on the right.

THIRD SPOOKY ALCOVE

Go ahead. Go into the corridor with two swinging axes on the left. You arrive at a crossroads. You can choose the way you want, the way on the right or the crawlspace ahead.

First way: take the crawlspace ahead, continue straightforward, climb the wall in front of you for another crawlspace, pick up some flares, find the exit, you are in a room with a hole (don't go there now) and a sarcophagus.

Second way: go right, you will find some water. Go to the other side of the water, crawl in a crawlspace, you will find several swinging axes. Make your way until you find a climbable wall, you will be in the room with the sarcophagus.

ROOM WITH TWO WOMEN STATUES

Next to the sarcophagus is a crawlspace. Crawl in and you arrive in a room with a pole, an ornate sarcophagus and two big women statues (they seem to be chitchatting together).

Climb the pole, backflip to land on the upper floor. Press a big button, the sarcophagus is opened revealing a corridor. Go down and enter the corridor under the sarcophagus. Pick up the BIG WATERSKIN: a camera shows the opening of an underwater door.

Crawl back to the hole leading to the swinging axes and the water.

BOTTOM OF HUGE ROOM

Dive and make a long swim down, pass the opened door, you will meet a couple of crocodiles in a water room with pillars. Find the opening in the South-West corner. Swim in, you are at the bottom of the huge room. Go out of the water and kill the crocs and a giant scorpion. Notice two doors in the North wall.

Go in the water and fill your waterskins. Choose the small waterskin in your inventory and pour the amount of 3 liters in the scale. The trapdoor opens (you can also use the big waterskin and pour 5 liters, the result will be the same) and Lara falls down and she is trapped in a big underwater room with two more crocs.

Tip from Lizard Queen: This is the "booby trap" route. There is a much easier way. Fill the large waterskin and combine with the empty small waterskin. Pour the large waterskin (now with only 2 litres) onto the scale and a door in the north/east corner opens in the room. Climb the stairs, open the sarcophagus at the top and pick up Shotgun ammo, Crossbow ammo, Grenade Gun ammo, Revolver ammo and flares. You will now be at the timed fire blocks.

This area is divided in four parts.

Find two head switches in the ceiling of the South-West and North-West sections to open the door in the South-East section. Swim to the door, go out of the water and press a big button: a camera shows the opening of one of the two doors at the bottom of the huge room. Climb the loooong ladder to the top and backflip: you are back in the first spooky alcove. Make your way to the third spooky alcove with some jumps and the rope (ain't that your lucky day ? you don't have to do the labyrinth again) and swim back to the bottom of the huge room as you did before. Enter the new opened door, climb the ramp. You see two blocks with spikes holes. Make a standing jump to the first block, run and jump to the second block, and another jump to the opened door before the spikes pop up.

ROOM WITH TIMED BURNING BLOCKS

Stand on the ledge to turn off the fire of the first block on the right. Jump to it and
to the opposite ledge where the closed door is. Standing on a tile near the wall turns off again the fire of the first block. Now it's the tricky part.

Make a running jump to the first block so that Lara will land next to the wall. Quickly, face the other blocks and make a running jump to the second block with a curve in mid-air so that Lara will have enough space to make immediately another running jump to the third block without losing time.

Grab the edge of the third block, jump to the fourth block on the left and to the ledge in the corner (you should have enough time). Go up a ramp and climb a ladder, to arrive in a big room with a mirror puzzle.

BIG ROOM WITH MIRROR PUZZLE

A camera will show where you have to go and what you have to do, but firstly find a switch in a wall somewhere in this starting ledge where you are before doing any jump to the invisible platforms (that switch opens a door farther, you can't see this door yet). Make your way to the ledge where the blue electric ark is, by jumping from invisible platform to invisible platform (look at the mirror to know where they are).

On the ledge with the electric ark, go through the mirror (if you pay attention, there is a little mouse that shows you the way). In the second side of the mirror room, push the big button to open the exit door of the first part of the room. In this second part of the mirror room you can also find SECRET #3 (jump from platform to platform and go down the ladder at the other side of the room).

Return in the first part of the room and exit this area (beware of the spikes at the threshold of the door), and climb a ramp with blocks.

BIG LADDERS AND POOL INFESTED BY CROCS

Up there are two doors. The left door must be opened. Climb a loooong ladder and find a ledge on the right. Push a big button to open the other door, and another button next to it in a corridor to open the window of a little temple you can't see yet. Go down the ladder and enter the right door. Climb another loooonng ladder to the top, backflip and land in a little corridor leading to a cave with a little temple in the midst of water.

Jump to the opening in the side of the temple, and pick up the GOLDEN SERPENT: the exit door of the cave opens.

HUGE TEMPLE WITH MANY DOORS AND SCALES

Enter in and jump to the left where the stairs are. Notice the three doors on this side of the temple, one door on opposite side (this door has always remained closed in my game, I think it's the closed door that was in the room with the timed burning blocks), and another door at the bottom. (There is also a place where you can fill your waterskins with water at the bottom of the room, go down the stairs and fill the big waterskin if it is empty and climb back the stairs).

At the top of the stairs, go South and climb a block to find a big button. Press it: the door next to it opens. Jump to the rope (you are above the big ramps of the beginning of the level). From the rope, jump to the opening. There is a scale.

Very Important: each time there is a scale puzzle, save your game because those puzzles are not resetable.

Pour 5 liters. (Very important: Lara must be exactly at the right place when you pour the water, otherwise the puzzle has not worked and you have to reload your savegame.)

If the puzzle works you will know it because something will happen: either a camera will show the opening of a door (if you pour 5 liters) or the trapdoor will open and Lara will fall down if you pour another amount of water.

Go back to the big temple using the rope (a bit tricky) and go where the door is opened, pull the switch and go to the new opened door. There is water to fill your waterskins. Save your game. Combine the waterskins and pour 2 Liters in the scale.
If you succeed a camera will show the opening of a door, if you pour another amount of water a camera will show the same door closed and a giant scorpion.

Go to the new opened door, climb stairs and ladder to a big room with two big women statues and guess what ? scales again! Save your game. Pour 4 liters in the scale (Lara must face West) to open the little door in the South wall.

(If you pour another amount of water, the camera will show the door closed. Note: If you save again your game before the puzzle is completed and reload from this savegame, the puzzle may not work even if you pour the right amount of water, so reload from the previous savegame.)

Go and place the Golden serpent. An earthquake starts and a camera shows that a ramp has appeared in the previous room. Go up the ramp, dive in the water and in the column of water to pick up the AMULET: A door opens at the bottom of the big temple. Go there, and in the new dark room jump from block to block until the end. Take a swim until the next level where you will explore the wreck of the Unexpected.
