Inside the Lost City of Gold

(1) The Lost City

Approach the door in front and it opens. Go south to shoot a vase and pick up blue shotgun shells. If you run around the area you will see places for some items you do not have yet. Do not jump into the water but go west to find an open doorway. Beside the doorway, you see a block and opening above it. Do not go up there or you will be stuck later on. Enter the doorway and start shooting a large scorpion. Shoot a vase near the south wall for red shotgun shells. Shoot a vase near the north wall for the shotgun. The floor near the sarcophagus is deadly. Get into a tunnel on the north wall. Run down the right side of the larger tunnel, as parts of the middle are spike traps. Get into the opening at the end and jump down to use the floor lever. Jump into the hole in the south wall and follow to a small room. Shoot the vases for blue shotgun shells. There are two tunnels to the west. The right tunnel has a spike trap so go down the left tunnel. At the first junction, go right, right, and left into a short tunnel. Get secret #1, Uzi ammo, Uzi's and blue shotgun shells. As you exit back to the first tunnel notice a trap door to the west. Continue down the first tunnel and enter a room to get a cut scene of three small scorpions and one large scorpion.  They are in the large pit below you. You can hang off the edge to tease them into getting close so you can kill them. The structure to the west is deadly so climb down the west front ladder of the ledge and into the pit.

Shoot a vase in the south-west for Uzi ammo. Go west towards the open door but keep to the center of the room, as some parts are firetraps. Pick up Uzi ammo in front of the doorway. There is also Uzi ammo towards the north wall. Use the floor lever and hear a loud noise as the structure above collapses to the floor. Climb the column in the center and pick up the Open Waters #1 (trident). Climb back the ladder to the ledge and go east. You should see a black line on the left floor. That means that the trap door on the other side is open. Go to the trap door and safety drop into the room below. I could not grab the ladder to climb down the wall. Go south and pick up red shotgun shells. Shoot the vases to pick up Uzi ammo and continue south to enter a large room. Pick up Uzi ammo and blue shotgun shells from the floor. The vases contain nothing but go to the ledges on the north wall. Pick up crossbow normal ammo and the crossbow. Push the two statues near the east and west walls back into their alcoves and the south door opens. Kill the demigod that emerges from the doorway. Enter the doorway and get into the crawl space. On the other side stand up and kill two small scorpions. Pick up crossbow poison ammo that one was apparently carrying. At the end of the tunnel enter a room to shoot empty vases. Climb the block and jump into a tunnel in the north wall. Follow to a room with a deadly floor.

The floating ammo should give you a hint that there are invisible platforms in the room. Run jump to the right of the north column to land on an invisible platform. Jump east to pick up crossbow normal ammo. Jump north-east towards the fancy wall tile and you should land on another platform. Run and jump to the middle of the east wall to the last platform. Face west and jump up to grab a monkey swing. Go west to the end and drop and grab the pillar near the entrance. Go west and climb a ladder to pull up into a large room. Go east for a large medipack. Go to the south-east to shoot a vase for Uzi ammo.  Go to the north-east to shoot a vase for Uzi ammo and notice a closed door in the east wall. Go west and notice another closed door. Enter a large room with a blue floor and get a cut scene of the back door opening and Seth emerges to shoot blue fire at you. Go south and climb a block. Follow the ledges around the room to reach an opening in the upper south-west corner. Use the floor lever there and get back to the ground floor. When you exit here, you get a cut scene of some broken columns. You can also see an open door towards the north-east. Get down and run for the open door. The door ahead will open as you approach it. Run to the east door that is now open. Pick up grenade flash ammo and enter the doorway, as a gate slams shut between you and Seth. You are back near the start. Get down and go west to the back of the room. The sarcophagus is gone but go to where it was and pick up Open Waters #2. Use the two tridents on the statues to the west and north.

Go to the south side of the room to find an open door. Follow the tunnel to enter the next room and shoot a north-east vase for Uzi ammo. Continue south and enter a tunnel. When you get to the blue lights, the level changes.

(2) Ice Wind Dale

Ahead of you is a water pit. To the south is a closed gate. Straight ahead to the west is a block with a receptacle. Go north and dive into the water. Pull up onto an iceberg and kill the two sharks. Enter a tunnel in the north-east and swim to a cave to pick up a shotgun and red shotgun ammo. There is a hole in the north floor but a closed door is at the bottom of it. Go back for air. Dive in and swim out into the open spaces to the east.  There are tunnels with invisible or transparent walls making it very difficult to see where to go. When you cannot swim east any more, then swim north.  You can sometimes determine when you are against the wall because the bubbles go straight up. When you are stuck again, swim east and keep left. There is an invisible "Y" split here. Keep to the left this time and to the right on a second trip. When you are stuck again swim south. When you are below an opening, swim upwards. You get secret #1, grenade super ammo, large medipack, and the revolver. Get back into the water and return back to the original shark pool for air. Dive in and swim out into the open spaces to the east.  When you cannot swim east any more, then swim north.  When you are stuck again, swim east and keep right. You should go into a second channel going east. When you are stuck again, turn south. It seems you have to swim up and the tunnel goes in a semi-circle around the obelisk you can see. You approach the hole from the north side. Swim up the hole and pull up into a room with four large vases. ( Savegame )

Go west and use the two floor levers to lower the two cages. The right door leads to a death slide. Enter the left door and go down some blocks. At the end jump and grab the wall. Release and drop to grab a pillar below you. Climb down the pillar for secret #2, Uzi ammo, Uzi's and a small medipack. Climb back up and kill two bats. On the hill to the north you can see a Guardian Key locked in an ice block. Jump from the column and go north-west. Enter the second north-west tunnel and enter a large open area. Go west and climb a block for grenade flash ammo. Go around the structure with gates to the west side. Climb the gray walls there and push a button. This opens a door on the east side of the central structure. Enter and press the button. This opens the door on the west side of the central structure. . Enter and press the button. This opens the door on the south side of the central structure. Enter and press a button. Exit to see that a cage and risen. Kill two small scorpions and pick up crossbow normal ammo. Press the button on the east wall. Now go to the north side and pick up a shotgun from a pedestal. Press the button on the north wall. This opens a door on the north side of the central structure. Enter and press a button. Exit and kill an ahmet. Run south and kill a big bug. Jump from a slope block to the cage and a timed second cage rises to the south. Run, jump, and grab it to pull up and jump to a ledge before the cage drops. You may have to kill a second big bug and try again. Press the button and you hear a loud explosion. Go to the east wall and climb the hill of snow that has appeared there. Jump into the tunnel in the east wall. Sprint through several floor blades. At the end climb and enter a room with an empty pedestal. Ignore the ahmet and run into a tunnel to the west wall. You see a closed door. Follow the tunnel back into the room and pick up Canopic Jar 1 that has appeared on the pedestal. When you do, the ice floor disappears and the ahmet drops to the bottom of the pit. I ignored the shotgun shells that are down in the pit. The closed door also opened so exit back to the main room.

Enter the other west doorway and go west and then south and climb down a wall. Get into a water channel and swim north to pick up blue shotgun shells, grenade gun, and grenade super ammo. Return to pull onto ledge. Jump south and grab a wall. Climb up and back flip to the ledge. Go back to the entrance door. Jump north-west onto a window ledge. Then jump south-west into a trench to pick up a large medipack. Follow to the south-west corner. Jump to pull up into a high south wall opening. The door opens for you. Safety drop onto a ledge with moving blades. Go west to press a button and then run east to the open door. Climb the stairs to a ledge in the room you just left. The north ledge is deadly with spike traps. Look down to see two water holes. Run off the ledge and drop into the closest water hole. This is a very linear maze and at the end, swim down a hole in the floor. Swim in a tunnel and pick up crossbow explosive ammo and pull up into a room. First go around the room to pick up Uzi's, two Uzi ammo, small medipack, and grenade super ammo. Then press the button on the wall of the middle structure. You get a cut scene of the east cage falling and a demigod. Kill the demigod and enter the section behind the dropped cage. Pick up a large medipack from the pedestal. Press the button on the wall and get a cut scene of the ice block around the Guardian Key has melted. Run back to the water to extinguish the ice wraith that appears. Go back to the button and go up a tunnel to the east. At the end, climb a wall and climb through a sheet of ice back to the starting area. Go north to the hill and claim your prize Guardian Key. Notice that a cage had risen and block off the first cave area. If you had gotten the Guardian Key first you would have been stuck without the Canopic Jar. [Opinion] That's just not fair. I can accept access to a secret being cut off. But cutting off access to an essential item is just bad. [End opinion]

Go north and use the Canopic Jar and the gate opens. Enter the ice caves and watch out for the slope floors that can get you stuck. Follow the cave and pick up Uzi ammo. When going south, the cave branches to the east and south. Take the east branch and pick up Uzi ammo. Continue this branch and at the end look south for a crawl space. Use the binoculars because the corner is dark. The crawl space turns to the right and then spirals inward to the left. At the end, get secret #4, revolver ammo, crossbow, and a large medipack. Get back to the first branch and take the south branch. Pass under a skeleton and go to the south-east corner. Pull up into an opening in the east wall. Follow to the skeleton and pick up grenade flash ammo. Jump into the water and swim down the hole into a tunnel. At the end, open the underwater door, and swim up. You are back to the invisible water tunnels section. Swim right and enter the shark pool.  Swim to the far west and climb onto an iceberg. Jump to blocks to the west and south. Pull up to a ledge and jump the triangular section back into the main area. Go to the block with the receptacle. Use the Guardian Key and get a cut scene of the south gate opening. The cut scene seems to be stuck in a loop but you can run during it and into the doorway. Shoot the barricade to enter the cave and the cut scene stops.

Go to the front of the column to pick up a revolver.  Run south down the right ledge and kill two bats. Enter the next cave and follow to an open temple area. Pick up revolver ammo in front of some pillars. Run east between the pillars and kill two sharks in the water. Go up the stairs and pick up Uzi ammo and face a floor with many spikes. Go to the south-east corner and press a button. Then go to the north-east corner to climb a cage to get to a high ledge. Kill an ahmet and go west to press a button. Then go east to press a button. Go to the south-west corner for crossbow normal ammo. Climb the cage there to a higher ledge. Press the button on the west wall. Jump the floor blades and press the button on the east wall. Jump to a ledge in the south-east corner and climb the ladder. Back flip to the higher ledge and kill the demigod that has been shooting at you during the climb. Run around the ledge and pick up Uzi ammo, small medipack, revolver ammo, large medipack, crossbow explosive ammo, and Uzi ammo. Jump to the central platform where the demigod was and pick up the Golden Vraeus. There may be a problem here. I fell and had to reload and kill the demigod again. But this time I did not get the Golden Vraeus. On a third try, I did get the Golden Vraeus and I saved the game a few times. Press the two buttons on the east and west walls. Carefully work your way to the bottom floor.

The spikes are gone so go east and use the Golden Vraeus to open the door. Pick up the Sostic Anka (Cartouche) and an earthquake happens. Run west back out the room and the ceiling falls around you. Swim the water because the bridge has broken. Continue east into the cave and more falling ceiling pieces. At the pit use the right ledge to get back top the exit. Run out the exit door and jump the large pit that has appear in front of the door. Go east and enter the doorway with the blue lights. Jump into the blue lights and the level ends. You are sent back to the first level.

(1) The Lost City

Run north and exit this temple area and back to the starting room. Use the Sostic Anka in its' receptacle. Then go the north side of the room and enter the open door. Run towards the blue lights and a door closes. Jump into the blue lights and the level ends. You are sent into the next level.

(3) The Journey Into Hell

You arrive standing on a pillar surrounded by a deep pit. Go to the north-west corner for Uzi ammo. Be careful of the blue lights or you travel back to the first level. Look east and see a rope. There is a very bad problem with the rope. Run, jump and grab the rope. Swing east and release to drop onto a column. Turn around fast and you can actually see the rope swing back and then disappear. If you wait to line up a swing, it will disappear and leave you stuck in space. It is a one-way trip. Look north to a pole. Jump to the platform and just ignore the ahmet. Climb and pole a very long way to the top and back flip into a room. Shoot the vase in the north-east corner for revolver ammo. The boxes are empty. Use the north and east reach-in switches to raise two blocks in the middle of the room. The south reach-in switch is a firetrap. Climb the blocks and climb a ladder into an upper area. Around you are four columns. To the east are stairs going down somewhere. Shoot the box in the north--east corner for red shotgun shells. Go down the stairs and the view changes.

You enter a room with three closed gates, seven dark tiles, and two bright tiles. Go to the gate in the north wall. It opens when you are in front of it. Enter and it closes. Follow down the tunnel and kill a dog. Enter a room with a chain. Pull the chain and sprint down the south-west tunnel. Go though the open door, and jump to the first raised tile. Jump to the block. Run, jump and no grab to the east to land on the edge of a raised tile. Side flip to the right to land on a bright tile. Run, jump and grab east to get into the timed gate before it slams shut in front of you. Do not step on the floor or the gate also drops shut. You enter a room and see a receptacle on the north wall. Use the floor lever and get a cut scene of water flowing down a column in the room you just left. The east door in front of you is also now open. Enter and shoot the vases and pick up a large medipack. Get into the hole and swim to the room under the raised tiles. Swim to the west wall for the Guardian Key and swim back and go to the room with the receptacle. Use the Guardian Key and the south door opens. Enter and go down the tunnel. Grab the ladder and climb to the top. Shoot the vases and the box to get secret  #5, crossbow explosive ammo, crossbow poison ammo, and a large medipack. Climb down the ladder to the very bottom to drop into a large room.

Pick up the laser sight from the pedestal. Go west down the stairs and kill a bat. Go north down the stairs into a tunnel. Stand in front of the slicer trap and when it is safe, roll to end up on the other side. Forward or side jumps through it sent me off the ledge into the lava. Jump to the other ledge and go to the end for Cartouche Piece 1.  Something is shooting at you. Just avoid getting hit until the two harpies fly in close enough to kill. Stand on the far west extension of the ledge and look north to see a box high up in the wall. Use the crossbow and laser site to shoot the box. Look to the north-west and see a vase near some temples. Shoot it and an extension appears on the west column. Jump to the west column and from there you can also see the Cartouche receptacle. Shimmy around the column and jump to the temple-like area to the north-west. Shoot another box at the west wall just in case. Go north-west to an empty pedestal and go north to enter a doorway. Jump over the lava to a block. Jump over the sloped blocks to grab a long sloped ledge. Or just go to the far north column, pull up, back flip, roll, and grab the long sloped ledge.  Shimmy to the right and when you see the second sloped ledge, pull up and jump between the two sloped ledges with a right curve. This will get you pass the spikes. At the end, you land on a less sloped tile where you can stand. Go west and enter the chess room. This has to be complicated because the author gave hints in his readme file.

I did not get anything from the readme file about the first level. I did the following and the gate opened for me, Go to the south-east black tile corner and look west to the closed gate. Using an X-Y coordinate system, this black tile is (1,1). Red piece is at (1,2). Green piece is at (1,4). Gold piece is at (3,3). Blue piece is at (3,1). Move the blue piece to (4,2). Move the green piece to (2,2). And the west gate opened. I did not move the gold or red pieces. I guess there are other combinations and I have to hope that I missed nothing. Go west through the open gate and pick up the Guardian Key. Continue and go down some blocks. Go east and through a slicer trap. You now face the second level.

On this level, the closed door is in the east wall. However the author's instructions were useful this time. Again go to the south-east east tile corner and look west to the open gate where you entered. Using an X-Y coordinate system, this red tile is (1,1). Gold pieces are at (1,2) and (4,5). Blue pieces are at (2,1) and (3,4).  Green pieces are at (2,5) and (4,1). Red pieces are at  (3,2) and (5,4). There is a solid pillar at (1,5). I am sure that when I exchanged the gold pieces, I heard a gate open. When I exchanged the blue pieces and the green pieces, the east gate opened. I did not move the red pieces. Enter the east gate and get a Guardian Key. Again roll through the slicer trap but be ready to grab a ladder. Or have full health when you drop down a hole. Go west and enter the third level.

Go shoot a box in the south-west for blue shotgun shells. Push the blue piece east off the board. Put the red piece on its' place. Push the green piece south off the board. Put the gold piece on its' place. The gate in the west wall opens. Go there and up the stairs to pick up flares (the only ones I found so far). Continue following the stairs to a room. Use the two Guardian Keys and the gate above you opens. Use the floor level and get a cut scene of the other Cartouche piece on the pedestal. Enter the newly opened gate and climb a ladder back to the first level. Go out the door and jump with a curve back over the sloped ledges. You may need to roll, but be sure that at the end that you are facing west. Then just slide and grab. Pull up and roll to grab the slope to the east and drop to a safe spot on the floor. Go south to climb the blocks and exit the room. Pick up Cartouche Piece 2 from the pedestal.

Exit this area and go south. Jump to the nest ledge south and go to the south-west corner. Jump to a very hard-to-see ledge against the west wall. This corner-to-corner jump is real hard. I always have trouble with them. Then it is an easy jump to the next ledge to the south-west. Kill a bat that flies in to annoy you. Go to the east side and safety drop onto some stairs. Go west and make the Sostic Anka from the cartouche pieces and use it. Look west and see that a block has risen and a door is open at the west wall. I never used the breakable tiles. Jump to the block and the ledge and enter the doorway. Do not kill the ahmet yet. Run into the opening in the north wall in front of the steps. The ahmet will follow you. Half way down the tunnel you get a cut scene of a block dropping. The ahmet does the triggering. If you have killed it, the block will not drop and you are stuck. Continue back into the room and go to the south wall. Take any direction and climb the ladder. Back flip at the top to the second level. Get to the center section and climb the steps to a reach-in switch. Reach in and get a cut scene of the door opening behind you. Kill two dogs and get into the open door.

Go down the tunnel and pick up flares. Enter the next room and shoot a box for blue shotgun shells. Go out the east door to face five hammers. You have to pass them quickly as a fire wraith is after you. Stay near the left side and the first hammer will miss you. Crawl a bit and the second hammer will trigger. Stand up and go forward. Stay to the left as the other hammers cycle and you should make it into the next big room with no problem. Run left to the north-east corner to find water to extinguish the fire wraith. You may notice an opening with spikes on the south wall. Dive into the water and swim east into a large room with columns. Swim east to find a place to pull up out of the water. Jump to a south pillar to grab a ladder. Climb to a platform and see a waterfalls to the east. What you want is near the far east wall.

First go to the west wall and use the reach-in switch. You get a cut scene of a block rising and a fire wraith appears. Just drop into the water to extinguish it. Swim back to the earlier room and go back through the hammers. It is easy to just drop and shimmy past them. Go back to the room with the ahmet and see an open wall in the north-east corner. Go there and use the reach-in switch to get a cut scene of sand rising in a pit. You can kill the ahmet now if you want. Back to the second floor and to the room with the pit. The spikes are gone now so jump into the doorway. Go down the tunnel there for secret #6, small medipack, grenade normal ammo and the grenade gun. Exit and go back into the water and swim back to the room with columns. Climb the ladder again and jump to the waterfalls. Near the rock there is revolver ammo. Near the south wall is grenade super ammo. Pick up the Star of Rephon from the pedestal. Kill a harpy and leave through the gateway in the north wall. Go west and turn around to kill a dog. Jump through the spider web opening onto a ledge on your left. Follow the ledge to the end and drop down onto a block. Drop down to a ledge and jump back to the platform with the blue lights. You may notice to the east that the rope is back. Jump into the blue lights and the level ends. You are sent back to the first level.

(1) The Lost City

Run north and exit this temple area and back to the starting room. Then go the north side of the room and place the Star of Rephon. You get a cut scene of the trap door in the water pit opening. Go to the front and notice that the pit is also filled with water. Dive in and swim into the trap door. Follow the tunnel to pick up flares. Continue swimming into a large pool in a very large room. Swim east to find more flares and pull up to a ledge. Kill two scorpions and shoot the vases for Uzi ammo. Go into the north opening and follow the tunnel to a room with steps. There is an opening in the west wall. First go to the north-west corner and find a ladder to climb down into the room below. Shoot the vases and get crossbow explosive ammo. Use the floor lever in the middle of the room and go back to the ladder. Kill two mummies and climb the ladder. Go back to the room with the pool. Go to the north-west corner and climb a block to get to the second level walkway. Shimmy pass the columns and the statues to the south ledge. There is a hole in the south wall to the right of the big head. Enter the tunnel and pick up secret #7, grenade normal ammo and a crossbow. If the hole is not there, save and reload again and it should appear.

Jump into the water and swim north. Back into the north tunnel and down the stairs in the room. Jump into the opening in the east wall. It may look solid but you can walk through the back wall. You enter a large room with Seth and you cannot kill him. Run into the room and go left to pick up crossbow explosive ammo from the top of a hill. Shoot the vases at the back for crossbow explosive ammo. Enter the large area to the west to climb a ladder. However, circle around the wall edge to the right as the shortest route to the ladder has spike traps. Climb some blocks to pick up a large medipack. Jump to the ledge on the south wall and kill a mummy. Follow the ledge and jump when necessary and continue to a floor lever. Use it and the door opens besides you. You may notice a bridge below that spans a pit. That bridge is a spike trap. Enter the door and pick up flares. Get into the hole and slide down. Kill a mummy and follow the tunnel to a large pit. Jump to the east side for a large medipack. Use the floor lever and jump the platforms to the west. Of course, during all this, Seth is shooting blue fireballs at you. When you are in the next big section, climb the blocks in front of you to the west. At the top, stand jump and grab the ledge behind you to the east.

Continue jumping ledges to the west. On the last one kill a mummy and shoot the vases for a crossbow. Slide down the pole and go west. Pick up a small medipack and use the floor lever. Approach the door in the south wall and it opens. Enter and climb the blocks. At the top, safety drop to the floor and run into the open doors to the west. Slide down to a level area. Go forward and slide down again. At the bottom you can see a jeep as the level ends by crashing to the desktop.
