Reviewer's comments |
"Never seen anything like this. Not just many experiments, but many experiments which work. One bad thing was the game pretended to warn me about secrets then allowed me to miss one, and since it's not possible to skip any cutscenes, it cost me 15 minutes. But this isn't enough reason to lower my rating so it stays full. Send this level to all the proud alpha males you know and watch them convert..." - DJ Full (25-Jul-2022) |

"This game turned out to be way more fun than I had anticipated. It's definitely a kiddie
game but it was especially fun as an adult as well. The puzzles were nice and appropriate
for the age group in which it was intended. And the "key-to-get-a-key" dynamic was also not
annoying like in other games that you would see. This level definitely hit differently
because of the atmosphere, the child-friendly appearance and decent puzzles! I will try more
of this author's levels at a later time. Great level! Cheers!" - g12STL (04-Apr-2022) |

"It's been rather a long time since I
played a junior TR level, but this turns
out to be so much more than that. This
two-parter may be targeted mainly at the
younger generation, but I defy even adults
to be thoroughly charmed and entertained
by it. There are naturally no enemies, so
you can immerse yourself in the gameplay
and surroundings and what a treat they
are. The environments are absolutely
gorgeous throughout and the whole setting
utterly captivated me. The first level is
beautiful enough, but the palace in level
2 definitely takes the cake. With so many
objects around alongside a multicoloured
texture palette it had the potential to be
gaudy, but that's not the case. The
combination of the charming unicorn
characters, the lovely, soothing music,
brilliant custom objects and the homely
feel of the palace interior make this a
sight to behold and more than once I
stopped just to bask in the glory of it
all. The gameplay remains creative
throughout despite plenty of required
exploration, and my favourite parts were
the tasks with the animals in the first
level and the hunt for the sparkles, the
"painting" puzzle, the button/lamp puzzle
(almost Richard Lawther-ite in its
construction and the hint actually is
there: the cubes below the buttons tell
you which flames are triggered) and the
Senet game in the palace. The secrets were
a cute touch and the ending was totally
heartwarming. A thoroughly delightful raid
from start to finish and a real labour of
love. Definitely another four-tenner." - Ryan (20-Feb-2022) |

"I have never seen such a beautiful, wonderful, fairytale-like 2 tracks for children. Almost 2 hours net playing time. The maker must really love his niece to have made such a creation for her. A little girl adventures through the beautiful locations, meeting and talking to animals along the way. the bunny, cat, duck, frog, squirrel, mouse, monkey, goat appear, and then towards the end the unicorn joins the adventure. He talks to each one, each one gives him a task to do, and in return they help him to get on. The tasks aren't difficult, they're mostly about practicing Tomb Raider moves. you can't die, you can't get hurt anywhere, you might have to restart a part of the course. Obviously no enemies, no weapons. There are also 8 secrets on the map, besides the colorful roses, where the little girl learns new and new dances. My children are grown up and my grandchildren are still small, but after a few years I'm sure I'll get them on my knee and show them this masterpiece. I'm sorry that some people downplayed this track, they didn't understand that it wasn't for hardcore gamers, it was just about love and appealing to children, introducing them to the world of Tomb Raider. They are the future TR fans. I wish you much happiness and health Bonnie, and your uncle, thanking you for this masterpiece. "This wonderful adventure for kinds is divided in two parts. The first one is more or less
like a tutorial as Bonnie is more guided through the tasks. The second part has many
puzzles, a nice secret hunting, platforming and a magical setting. The visuals are great, so
is the music. A brilliant custom level for kids, and not only! I really enjoyed it." - billie2001 (18-Feb-2022) |

"This is a two-part level designed for children. As such, the moves are relatively easier
than they would be in an "adult" level, but enough variety is presented here to make this a
sufficiently challenging raid in addition to being extremely easy on the eyes. Each of the
two segments takes about the same amount of time to play (roughly 45 minutes), but there are
so many cut scenes in the first level that your actual gameplay amounts to about a third of
the time necessary to complete it. It's a kids' game and should be rated as such, but I
found myself drawn into its enchanting qualities to the extent that I've decided not to play
the wet-blanket grinch and downgrade it. For some reason I was put off by Bonnie's strangely
irritating accent, and the frequent outbursts of "Yay!" became wearisome quite early, but
that's my only quibble other than the game-delaying moments in the first part. You need to
win the Senet game near the end to collect the last secret, so I replayed (not many times)
until I won. That particular game is frustrating in that success is more a matter of luck
than skill, but I still found it fun to revisit it. The surroundings are outstanding in both
levels, the lighting is impeccable, and you never have to worry about enemy attacks. High
recommendations." - Phil (16-Feb-2022) |

"Definitely not your usual Tomb Raider, an actual game for kids (and grown-ups who can
enjoy), a truly faultless labour of love. I mostly loved finding the 20 sparkles, and the
Seneth game (which I won on my second try). But it was all lovely. The talking animals, the
different puzzles, the coulourful environments, the music, the story... Yay for the unicat!
Bonnie, you're a lucky girl." - Jorge22 (12-Feb-2022) |

"This is the first children's level I've ever played, but having seen the reviews and images I thought I'd give it a go. It's
very well made with great dialogue and super animals, especially the cat as a guide with the cats and water jokes an
added treat. Great puzzles and an interesting plot and the animations and music were superb. Good humour at times
especially when Bonnies legs shook when the spider turned up. Thought the dance moves part was very clever but I had
no idea how the green light, red light game was played as I'd never heard of it, but soon sorted out. A definite Hall Of
Fame contender IMHO. Overall quite easy but the puzzles need a bit of thought to complete so balances it out nicely.
10 out of 10 for everything." - StormChaser (11-Feb-2022) |

"OverRaider has made an amazing work with this gift , that also grown_ups people can enjoy :
the objects the textures the storytelling, all the animations sometimes quite funny , and
several puzzles technically well done and well presented and fun to solve. The musics are
very well chosen. So many nice touches and a lot of creativity has been put into this
wonderful level , that brings many smiles and good feelings while playing. Kudos !" - eRIC (10-Feb-2022) |

"(9) Gameplay & Puzzles: This is a very easy duo-level that took me about 2 1/2 hours. It's so wonderfully creative and joyful, and I couldn't stop smiling while playing it (even becoming misty-eyed a few times). What I really like about the gameplay is that even though it's a peaceful level with no tricky platforming or traps, the builder always comes up with creative tasks and puzzles for the player, and you never feel like you're stuck in a boring "Fetch-key-pull-lever-open-door" flow. I had a great time from start to finish, however I do feel like there is a bit too much "hidden object" stuff going on. Don't get me wrong, I think having these tasks is fine for a peaceful level. However, I think the gameplay flow would be stellar if some more thrilling/exciting tasks had been sprinkled in periodically across the adventure. For example, the "red light green light" task with the monkey. This is a perfect example of a thrilling task that works within the gameplay boundaries of a kids/advent level. One more minor detail I want to note about the gameplay is that I loved the "poop" moment. It's cool when builders inject their humor into the worlds that they craft. (10) Enemies, Objects & Secrets: The objects are beautiful, polished, and utilized in clever ways for puzzles. You can tell that the builder put in so much effort to make the objects work just right for the environment. Specific examples that come to mind are the re-skinned Semerkhet objects, all of the animals, and how the builder re-skinned the fire animation so that it's a sparkly animation. A very minor nitpick is that in level 1, inside the building, some of the rooms look too large and lacking in objects; there's too much empty space in the middle of the room. The secrets are good fun to go for, and I love the idea of rewarding the player with extra dance animations for finding secrets (my favorite is dance 2). (10) Atmosphere, Sound & Cameras: The building design and outdoor areas are both superb and memorable. There are some pink park benches (next to transparent colored cubes) in level 2, and I remember just idling there, pretending I was actually sitting there in rainbow land, really taking the environment in. This is a sign that the atmosphere is perfect. There's an excellent selection of music tracks, with my favorite being the outdoor area of level 2. Sound cues are also utilized in an effective manner to indicate events. There's a lot of flybys/cutscenes. I think for a "standard" TRLE, the amount of flybys/cutscenes would be excessive, however in the case of the builder's "interactive fiction for kids", I think it works fine. (10) Lighting & Textures: This category is stunning and professional from start to finish. I never had to light a flare, and I love the "sunset" lighting style in the outdoors area of level 1. I thought it was really neat how the builder incorporated BTB2006 Asia into his textureset. You wouldn't think that an Asian textureset would belong in a western setting, but it works beautifully here. Overall, I highly recommend this charming and memorable adventure to all players. I think even advanced players will have a delightful time here, taking a break from challenging levels. I am very emotionally touched and I hope that my daughter will play this several years in the future. 9/10/10/10." - nerdfury (09-Feb-2022) |

"I love everything about this custom! It's so colorful. I like the plot, how you go into the magical world of Rainbow Land and every items you use it's unique in his style, perfect fit for a magic themed custom level. So fantasy, even with FF9,10 and 5 musics which I really like since I'm a fan of this saga too. I enjoyed playing this custom and it melted my heart knowing that it is a gift from the builder to his niece! It's a family-friendly level to play together, really well done! I even say thanks to the builder because it solved the problem for crashing when I asked into the forum! Again, thanks to the builder for creating this amazing level and as always I've done the complete video walkthrough with all items and secrets collected on my YT channel! 🙂" - Saki Croft (09-Feb-2022) |

"A cute and very heartwarming level. The atmosphere was amazing! Reminded me a lot of the shows I used to watch as a
child. I think the creator definitely put in a lot of work into this level. The talking animals was definitely a different idea
and they added to the atmosphere. The level itself is pretty long, like most newer custom levels. A very different, unique
level." - Vicky (06-Feb-2022) |

"A beautiful relaxing tomb raider level, two levels to be exact. An interesting way it is made, absolutely for all ages. Beautiful locations, colors, landscapes. Lots of small and big animals that are your friends and either you help them or they help you. Not so difficult tasks, but still to think a little about what to do next. The music is beautiful. Every secret hides something of its own, that is, movements to play with. Children's entertainment.
The previous level made by the author was much stronger and more serious. This one is for relaxation and a couple of light hours of playing. I am glad that I found all the secrets and that with the unicorn task, I also fulfilled it and received a nice key award.
I look forward to new levels of this wonderful master of Tomb Raider level craft editor. Perfect and great!" - Ivan (06-Feb-2022) |

"Wow, what a beautiful and magical dedication to Over raider's niece Bonnie. I think this
level is the best family-friendly level so far on this website and also in the kids
category.
Gameplay & Puzzles: Gameplay is starightforward and easy for kids to play. 1st level is
linear and mostly it's a tutorial I'd say, there were some minigames like green light red
light which was quite innovative to do. 2nd level is more interesting as there are nice
puzzles and engaging tasks. However, I felt that some tasks were dull like collecting the
keys in the palace or item hunting but it doesn't really take away the good impression.
Though I thought the pushable puzzle was a bit obscure because there were no hints on what
to do, of course I knew what the task was (match the colour given item) but for example I
thought the blueberry was actually a cactus and clover some random flower, I think it
should've been more clearer.
Enemies, Objects & Secrets: No enemies. Objects are very nicely placed and secrets are
very interesting.
Atmosphere, Sound & Cameras: Atmosphere is excellent especially in the 2nd level, it felt
really magical and engaging for me to continue. Soundtrack was really good and cameras are
nicely placed.
Lighting & Textures: I have some downs about the lighting because some places were flat
(for example the house) or where there were more opportunity to put more lighting. The
sunbulb was good though but I would put more colour in the 1st level. In the 2nd level,
the light was too monochrome, more colours would be much more appreciated as I felt there
was a opportunity to put there for more contrast and colour. Texturing was very well done,
a variety of textures were used especially in the 2nd level.
Summary: In summary this is a beautiful dedication to Bonnie and I recommend anyone to
have a go at this level." - Kubsy (06-Feb-2022) |

"This is such a beautiful level for kids! I found it to be very pleasant & entertaining for
little ones. All tho I did kinda got bit jump scare with that little frog, lol Child
interacting with animals playing hide & seek. I say this can be a good start for kids in
trle world. OverRaider this was very loving of you to create for Bonnie. She's adorable.
