JUNGLE – PART TWO

If you played Part One, you’ll begin Part Two with all accumulated pickups.

 

Run down the dark tunnel and come to a quicksand patch. Take a running jump to get most of the way across and vault up quickly in front of a crawl space. Go through, look for a small medipack on a block to your right and continue to a fixed camera. Hang from the edge, shimmy left away from the spikes below if necessary and drop to a lower tunnel. Go through the opening and pull up right two times to an outdoor area. Walk forward to trigger a boulder and stop as it passes harmlessly over you. Go around left to find uzi ammo next to a tree trunk and slide down toward the temple ruins.

 

Find a short alley to the left of the pond and hop up to the temple wall for shotgun ammo. Go clockwise around the temple to the other side and find an opening you can jump into for a small medipack. Go back around, use the blocks next to the boulder to pull up onto the veranda and jump past the waterfall to your left to find flares next to a palm tree. Return to the waterfall, drop down into the moat and look for an underwater lever that lifts a timed platform behind you. Quickly flip turn, swim to the raised platform, pull up and run forward to a wall switch that opens a temple door. 

 

Jump back into the water, swim halfway across and pull out left. Get through the crawl space and drop down the other side Loop around right, climb the blocks to the veranda once again and go to your right this time to find the opened door. There are spikes on both sides, so go down the middle and shoot the snake on the raised slab. Go to its carcass and pick up the FOREST KEY. On your way out, look in the back right corner for flares. Get back down to the valley floor and run directly away from the blocks you climbed toward a shallow pond and a waterfall. Past the pond you’ll find a receptacle for the Forest Key that lifts the nearby door.  

 

Enter a new area and kill a tiger. Hop onto the ledge to the right of the entrance and follow the ledge toward a waterfall. Hop next to the overhanging tree and crawl underneath it for a large medipack. Crawl back under the tree, go back the way you came and follow the rock wall clockwise past the entrance, crossing a narrow stream. You’ll eventually come to some stone steps and meet another tiger. Go up the steps, shoot the snake and return to the rock wall. Continue your circuit, picking up a large medipack along the way and crossing a small pond, and you’ll come to more temple ruins. Go under two arches (note the receptacles to your left between the two arches) and turn left outside for uzi ammo. Run past the arch and a closed door to your left and look left as you near the corner of the ruins.

 

Hop up onto a rock ledge, walk up past the foliage and turn left. Take a tricky jump up to a higher ledge and follow a short distance to where you can take a running jump and grab a ledge protruding from the ruins. Pull up and go to your right. Jump the gap and proceed toward the wall for the RUINS KEY. Get down to the ground and continue clockwise around the temple ruins and into the forest until you run into a fixed camera. Turn left there and pull onto the nearby block for shotgun ammo. Get down, pull onto the opposite block (or tree stump), walk up to the highest tip and take a running jump to grab the tree limb. Pull up and turn left. Jump the tree limbs until you reach a small medipack near the wall, continue and jump to a ledge to the right of a waterfall. Hop to the opening and go past the falling water into a room with a snake. Pull down the wall switch it was guarding to open a door outside, and look for the FIRE ROOM MAP and a large medipack in a corner of this room.

 

Exit and slide/drop down the waterfall to the jungle floor. Follow the stream to the lake you can see in the distance, jump into the water and locate an underwater lever that opens a trap door somewhere. Note the nearby closed floor trap door, pick up the flares on a raised rock slab, surface and pull out above the underwater lever. Shoot a tiger, turn left and follow the ledge surrounding the lake until you reach the shotgun ammo. Another tiger will be alerted, so deal with it and go a bit further past the large tree. Lara’s attention will be directed to her left, so swim across the lake to where you pulled out earlier and enter a dark cave past the waterfall. Shoot the tiger waiting inside and go around left to see a ladder and hear the warning hiss of a snake. Go a bit further for a large medipack and continue to find flares in the shallow water, then return to the ladder.

 

Climb up past the opened trap door, back flip into an upper room and kill the snake. Climb the next ladder and back flip onto a ledge. Pick up another RUINS KEY and get back down to the cave. Exit, turn right and follow the ledge surrounding the lake until you reach short blocks you can climb to reach a stream-fed clearing you visited earlier. Loop around right to those stone steps where you killed the snake, continue around right to the temple ruins and go under the first archway to the receptacles you noted earlier. Place the two Ruins Keys to lift two poles near the statues beside you and also to open a door outside.     

 

Exit under the second arch and find the opened door in the rock wall. As you go through the door closes behind you, so slide down and follow to an underground pool. Jump down into the water and look for a small medipack next to a corner column. Swim across the pool and pull out onto a jutting ledge. Jump up to grab the wall crack and shimmy left. Drop down onto a block, go around to a wall switch and pull it down to open a trap door. Exit, jump toward the jutting ledge and swim across the pool to pull out on the opposite side. Grab the flares behind the first column and head to the other side of the ledge. Pull up onto a block next to a column, turn around and jump up to grab a ladder. Climb to an upper ledge, turn left and run to the wall ladder. Climb up past the opened trap door and back flip onto a still higher ledge.

 

Run to the raised slab and turn the wheel to raise the water level in the pool. Reverse roll, jump into the water and swim left to the ledge jutting from the wall. Pull out, jump up to grab the wall crack and shimmy right until you can drop onto a corner block. Climb the nearby ladder, back flip onto a ledge and turn to face an arch. Take a running jump to grab it, pull up near a large medipack and pull down the wall switch to raise two platforms. Jump into the water, swim across the pool and pull out onto one of the ledges. Turn left, go to the wall and climb the ladder past the opened trap door. Back flip to the upper ledge and turn the wheel once again to lower the water level. Jump to grab the ladder, climb back down and run to the other end of the ledge. Find the raised platforms and take a running jump from the far end to grab the jutting ledge. Pull up, jump up to grab the wall crack and shimmy right until you can drop onto the corner block. Climb the ladder, back flip to the upper ledge and jump to grab the arch.

 

Pull up, go past the wall switch and jump to grab the corner ledge, pull up and climb the ladder to an opening to a new room. Enter, drop down the floor hole to a lower passage. Follow to a closed door and a wall switch that opens double doors by the pool and floods the passage. Swim back, pull out of the floor hole and jump into the water far below. Pull out onto the ledge between two columns where the double doors opened and go on through to awaken a Shiva statue. When it’s dead, go pick up its SCIMITAR as an underwater door opens. There are no pickups in this room, so exit, jump into the water and swim across the pool to where the door opened at floor level. Swim into the passage and allow the current to carry you to where you can surface in a familiar outdoor lake.

 

Pull out at the smaller waterfall, turn left and follow the ledge back to the temple ruins as before. Go under both arches, turn right and run to the corner of the building. Hop up left as you did earlier, loop around left and take a running jump to grab the ledge jutting from the wall of the ruins. Pull up, go around left or right and find the raised platforms on the other side of the building. Take a running jump from the far end to grab the tree limb, pull up and jump straight ahead to the next tree and follow the giant limb to the entrance to a new area. Go inside as the door closes behind you and go down to another door that opens upon your approach and promptly closes behind you.

 

You’re in a flooded room sprinkled with burning columns. Jump into the water to attract a crocodile, pull out onto a block on either side of the entrance ledge to deal with him and pull back up to face the burning columns. Consult the Fire Room Map you picked up earlier to determine the safe column tops. Stand jump down to the near right column and the flames will go out as you land. Take a running jump onto the higher column to your left, stand jump down to the central column and turn a bit left to take a running jump to grab the column against the far wall. Pull up, turn right and take a running jump to grab the next column. Pull up, stand jump onto the taller column to your right and hop to the ledge ahead. Climb the wall ladder past a ceiling hole and back flip to an upper room.  

 

Go toward the center of the room to turn on flame blowers and awaken a Shiva statute that drops another SCIMITAR when it dies. Before leaving, go around the perimeter walls to find shotgun ammo and a small medipack, then go to the wall opposite the ladder hole to find a floor hole at the top of the steps. Hang from the edge, wait for the flames below to subside and safety drop with a roll to the floor. Exit this building, safety drop from the ledge to the jungle floor, return to the temple ruins and go to those raised poles next to the statues between the arches. Place the scimitars to open the doors ahead and go on through. Run forward as a boulder rolls by overhead, climb the blocks and wait for stalactites to fall from the cave ceiling. Exit the cave and kill two vultures, follow the rock wall to the right and hop onto a short ledge for shotgun ammo hidden in the weeds. Jump onto the nearby fallen tree which serves as a bridge to get across the river below. Don’t pause as you hear a rumbling noise, as the tree will soon disintegrate and drop you into the raging current if you don’t hurry to the other side (and take a running jump to be on the safe side).

 

Shoot the tiger before hopping down from the tree, go left for shotgun ammo and return to go past the fallen tree remnant. If you like, you can jump to a ledge jutting over the water and walk through the undergrowth for a small medipack. Jump back, loop around right and find a sloping tunnel. Slide a long way down and run forward to emerge in a spacious underground room. Shoot the approaching tiger and hop into a cleft in the nearby column for shotgun ammo. Go to the other column across the room and pull down the wall switch to open a nearby corner door. Go around the column, hop up into the cleft and pull down a second wall switch to open a trap door in the other corner. Hop down, go to the near corner where the trap door lowered, hop down and enter the crawl space. At the other end is a pushblock, so push it once, crawl back and pull out of the floor hole, go around to the other corner to find a second pushblock that you can now pull into the room.

 

Move the pushblock close to the column so that you can get up onto it and jump to a higher cleft in the column. Pull down the wall switch to open another trap door in a corner across the room. Go there, pull up two times to another wall switch that opens two doors, the one to your immediate right and another one in the last corner (the one on this side of the room). Shoot the waiting tiger, hop down, go to the corner where the second door opened and move the pushblock close to the nearby column. Use it to access the higher cleft, pull down the wall switch to open the exit doors and leave this building after grabbing the uzi ammo in the pushblock alcove.

 

Enter a lavish room with falling leaves and go to an alley in the back left corner for uzi ammo. Climb the block to the right (as you face it) of the elephant statue and shoot the vase in the elephant’s extended hand. Jump over there for a large medipack and get onto the ledge behind the statue. Note the closed door, go to the other end and jump to the ledge with a railing. Follow around, jump the gap, go around the corner and find a floor lever that opens a door in a nearby wall. Go back around the perimeter clockwise until you reach a second floor lever opposite the first one. Push it to hear the sound of a door opening in the wall behind you, reverse roll and enter the crawl space in the corner. Follow around and emerge on a ledge overlooking the room with two columns. Jump up to grab the ceiling and monkey swing along the track past the columns and drop down at the far wall in front of a wall switch.

 

Pull down the switch to open underwater doors, safety drop to the floor and return to the elephant statue room. Jump into the pool, swim past the opened doors and pick up the BRAZIER OIL. Surface, pull out and go to the opened door in the wall to the left of the elephant statue (as you face it). Enter, go around the corner and crawl underneath a gauntlet of dart traps. Turn left in front of the pool and search the plant-covered ledge for a small medipack. Jump into the pool, locate and pull the underwater lever, reverse roll and swim past the door that opened behind you. Surface in the next pool, pull out and exit onto a ledge overlooking a vast courtyard. Wait for a vulture to arrive, go down either side to the ground and engage two tigers. In a small vine-covered cave in the far wall you’ll find shotgun ammo, and a third tiger will attack at some point as you explore the area. There are flares in a dark alcove around the middle of the wall to the left as you come down from the ledge.

 

One of the many columns has a ladder surface on the side facing the wall near one of the corners of this area. Climb up to attract another vulture so you won’t have to deal with it later. Get down, return to the entrance ledge and look for another ladder on the lower level on the left side as you face it. Climb up to a ledge, run forward to encounter a snake and loop around left to find yet another ladder. You can pull into the alcove to your left for a small medipack if you’re situated just right on the ladder. Drop to the floor, climb to the top of the column, turn right and take a running jump over the gap. Around the corner is a large pushbutton that opens double doors. From the far end of this ledge, look down to find an opening in the wall and stand grab with grab to land inside. Pull down the wall switch at the end of the short passage (cut scene of a statute), reverse roll and take a running jump a bit to your right to land on a lower ledge.

 

The opened doors are right around the corner, so go on through to find the ABANDONED CITY KEY. Exit, safety drop to the ground and find the column with the ladder that you climbed earlier. Reverse roll at the top, jump onto the roof and climb the ladder to your left. Shoot the snake sunning itself on the upper ledge, run past it and take a running jump to grab the next ledge. Pull up, note the ladder in a column jutting from the wall to your right and follow the ledge to the wall for uzi ammo. Go back a bit and take a running jump over a gap to grab the next ledge. Pull up to find the receptacle for the Abandoned City Key. Place it to open more double doors directly below you, hop back a few times, safety drop in front of the opened doors and go inside for a battleaxe called the PARASHU OF GANESHA. Exit, loop around right and look for the wall opening a little above you. Take a running jump to grab the edge, pull up and run forward to a wall switch to lower a trap door in front of the statue you saw in the previous cut scene.

 

Jump back down to the previous ledge, go across and jump to grab the next ledge, pull up and jump to that ladder you noted earlier. Climb to the very bottom and drop to the ground. Return to the top of the entrance ledge and jump to grab the first of several columns with plants growing on their tops. On the third one is a large medipack. Return to the entrance ledge, jump into the water there and swim through the connecting passage to the next pool. Surface, pull out and look for that statue you saw in the cut scenes. Climb up and find the wall ladder behind it. Climb up past the opened trap door and back flip into an upper room for the only SECRET in this level. Grab the flares, shotgun ammo, large medipack, the UZIS and 2 x uzi ammo from the raised slab. Climb back down the ladder, go around the pool and exit this room, crawl under the dart traps and return to the elephant statue room. Go across the room to the opened door in the opposite wall, climb the steps to a narrow opening and crawl to a floor hole. Drop down the other side, pull down the wall switch to lift a door to your right and step out onto a bridge.

 

Go to the central column, safety drop from the right side onto a lower bridge, pick up the uzi ammo and go around the column to the other end of the bridge. Turn right and take a running jump to grab the wall ladder. Climb to an upper ledge, jump the gap and pull down the wall switch to rotate the bridge. Jump back to the previous ledge, take a running jump to grab the bridge, pull up and turn right to find a pushblock. Pull it onto the bridge, go over it into the vacated alcove and pull down the wall switch (cut scene of a closed underwater door). Reverse roll, go over the pushblock to the other end of the bridge and enter the alcove to find a wall switch that opens that underwater door. Drop from the bridge into the water below, locate the opened door and swim into the passage.

 

Follow the long tunnel to an underwater lever that opens the door beside you, continue on through, surface and pull out quickly to deal with a couple of rats and a crocodile. Search the ledge for flares behind a column and pull down the nearby wall switch to open a door to your right. Go there to face a trench with burning tiles. You can clear the gap with a running jump and grab, so do that and pull up in front of a wall switch that opens a door at the other end of the ledge. Go there, jump across the gap as before and pull down the wall switch to raise platforms over the pool. At the end of the raised platforms is a pushblock. Move it over the platforms and onto a trigger tile to lift an underwater door and cause the pushblock to disappear. Jump into the water, swim past the opening into a side pool and pull out onto a ledge.

 

Push the large wall button to rotate the previous bridge once again and also to re-open the exit door, leave this side room and swim to your right once outside for a small medipack near the corner. Continue down to the tunnel and return to the flooded room with the bridge. Pull out onto the ledge on the right side of the central column, jump to the ledge with a wall ladder and climb to an upper ledge. Turn around and take a curved running jump to grab the bridge. Pull up, go around the central column to the other end, get up onto the pushblock and jump up to grab a ladder surface above the opening. Climb up to an alcove and pull down the wall switch to raise the platform behind you. Take a running jump to grab the high bridge, pull up, go to the central column, go left to the wall ladder and climb past the ceiling hole. Back flip into an upper room, go to the central slab for a giant TRISHUL OF GANESHA, continue forward past an opened door and slide backwards down the slope. Grab at the bottom and drop to the passage leading back out to the elephant statue room.     

 

Pull up to the elephant statue, place the Ganesha weapons in the outstretched hands on either side and the double doors open in the wall behind the elephant statue. Go through the passage to a ledge overlooking a drained pool, shoot two soaring vultures and go back a bit to find a jagged opening in the left (as you entered) wall. Hop inside and light a flare so you can avoid the scattered spikes. Look for uzi ammo next to the central block, shoot a snake and climb the blocks next to it. Pull up to a higher ledge, shoot two rats and go up the steps to an interior passage. Walk slowly through the spikes as Lara’s attention is drawn to the drained pool to her left, pull the wall switch at the end of the passage to fill the pool with water and return there. Jump into the water and locate an underwater lever on the sides to your right and left. Pull them both with no visual cues (but know that they open nearby doors), pull out of the pool and shoot two tigers.

 

From the entrance, go toward the opened door on your right, shoot another vulture before you enter and pull down the switch in the wall to your left. The adjacent door opens, so enter and crawl across the crated floor to avoid the dart traps, find a pushblock in the far wall and pull it two times. Go around to its right side and push it once. Enter the revealed alcove, pull down the wall switch to raise a platform. Get up onto the pushblock and jump to grab the platform. Pull up to a wall switch. Pull it down to collapse the platform and open the exit door across the room. Mind the dart traps, go past both opened doors and climb down the ladder to drop into a lower passage.

 

Get past the spear trap to face a gauntlet of rolling slicer dicers. Weave your way past them in S-shaped curves and jump into the opening in the far wall. Watch out for the spikes on either side, push the large button to open a door and walk through the spikes on your left for a large medipack. Get back past the rolling slicer dicers and the spear trap the same way you came, climb the ladder to the hallway and turn left. Run around the pool and into the opened doorway on the other side after shooting a vulture. Turn right into the smaller opening, go up some large steps and climb up to an opening that leads to a ledge surrounding the outdoor pool. Explore the perimeter for uzi ammo and shotgun ammo at the corners and locate the bowl stand where Brazier Oil is to be placed. A door opens down in the pool and a flame appears in the bowl.

 

Jump into the water, swim past the opened door and follow the long passage to a place where you can surface and pull out onto a ledge to your right for uzi ammo. Swim across to the other side, wade out and run forward to push a floor lever and open the nearby door. Step out into a courtyard, shoot two tigers and locate the pushblock supporting a column. Push it one time so you can use it to access a wall switch on the other side of the column. A corner door opens and a Shiva statue is awakened. Go to the nearby corner alcove for the INFADA KEY and continue around the periphery of this area. Shoot a snake along the way and locate a second pushblock that you can use in a similar manner to access a wall switch on the supported column that produces the same result as before. Kill the awakened Shiva statue, go to the corner alcove for another INFADA KEY and reverse roll.

 

Find a receptacle at a corner with a ladder to the left of it. Place an Infada Key to open the trap door above the ladder. Climb the ladder past the opened trap door. Back flip onto a ledge, go around and across a bridge connected to the central structure, turn left and pull the pushblock two times. Go back across the bridge, turn left and find a pole with a connecting chain. Shoot the device on the pole to release the chain, return to the ladder hole and climb back down. Turn right, run to the other corner and use the other Infada Key to open the trap door above the adjacent ladder. Climb up, back flip onto the ledge, go around to find a similar pole, shoot the connecting device to release the chain and remove a spear barrier. Climb onto the block, take a running jump to grab the suspended ledge, pull up and turn left. Pull up into an alcove, push the wall button to lift a door in the central structure and go back the way you came. Go across the bridge to the central structure, turn right and pull the pushblock two times. Hop over it and go around to the opened door.

 

Turn around, slide down backwards, grab and safety drop to the floor. Light a flare, save your game and pick up the INFADA STONE. A trap door opens to drop you onto a slope. Slide and jump over a floor hole at the bottom as a spike roof descends. Run forward, jump over two more floor holes past dart traps while being pursued by two boulders. Take refuge in the opening to your right, but beware of two spear traps inside. Get past them both and emerge above a room with flame blowers and a deadly floor. Stand left and time a running jump to grab the nearest column. Pull up (you’ll be safe from the flames) and time a running jump onto the next column. Walk to the far edge and stand jump to grab the last column. Pull up, time a running jump into the wall opening and face a gauntlet of rolling slicer dicers and thumpers. Getting past them isn’t too difficult, but it may be wise to save before trying.

 

Jump into the pool, allow the strong current to carry you along the passage, swim up at the end, surface and pull out into a small room. Hop onto the block, pull down the wall switch to lift the door and follow the passage. When you get a fixed camera view, start sprinting to avoid the boulder that drops down from above. Slide down to an outdoor area, shoot the tiger and get into the motorized raft parked at the river’s edge. Take a scenic cruise along the river and you’ll soon run into the finish trigger.
