LEVEL 1 – CROFT MANSION

 

First Rooms

Run up the stairs and situate Lara facing the red curtain, jump up with grab to see that you can pull up and trespass the curtain; press the button to open the door of the basement. Go to the basement, pick up the shotgun shells and press the button to open the door of Lara’s bedroom. Go there and pick up the XenosagaLXF beta tester, note the keyholes (you’ll be back here later) and go to the bathroom to get 2 X flares and press a button to open the door of the attic. Go there, pick up the shotgun shells, avoid the rat and locate a button behind the blocks to open the door of the library. Go to the library and drag the movable box so you can climb it and jump to the niche behind the high window (yes, you can trespass it), press the button to open the door of the nearby piano room (due to the collision, it’s difficult to go out of this niche; run and jump several times from the left or right sides). Go there and press another button to open a door in the main hall.

 

Optional: exit and before you leave the library, look for a switch to pull behind the statue near the corner so you can get extra items later.

 

The Bronze Key

Go to the main hall, look for the open door near the corner and in this room pick up a Bronze Key (the keys in this game have no name in the inventory, so I will give them whatever names I want). At this moment you can go up to Lara’s bedroom and use this key to finish the level, but...

 

Getting Extra Pickups

Optional to get extra pickups: exit to the main hall, turn left and go either opening in front of you, to the right to open the door of the pool room; enter and press the button behind the trampoline to open an underwater door, jump into the pool and follow the passage to another part of the mansion. Run up the stairs and open the doors in the left side to get shotgun shells, a small medipack and in the third room is the door you opened with the switch in the small library with the movable block; pull this movable block out of the niche and place it under the hole in the ceiling, climb and press a button to open a door somewhere.

 

Exit this room and go to the balconies at the other side of the stairs, open the door with the button and go down the steps to find the door you opened moments ago; pick up the shotgun shells and in the gardens the Silver Key. Now go all the way back to Lara’s bedroom (make a short stop in the kitchen to pick up a small medipack in the refrigerator).

 

Once there, use the silver key to open the wardrobe and pick up the Pistols, the Shotgun, 2 X small medipacks, 2 X large medipacks and 22 X shotgun shells. Go to the attic to shoot the rat if you want, but come back here to use the bronze key in the remaining keyhole and finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 2 – INVESTIGATION...

 

The First Bronze Key

Get out of the water in the ledge near the ladder and shoot the window, enter the room, shoot a brawler, pick up his 2 X shotgun shells, flares and pull the switch to open the door; go inside the niche and the floor opens under your feet, light a flare and explore the bottom of this dark room to trigger a killer, shoot it and pick up the large medipack and the Bronze Key he drops; go back up to the outside area.

 

The Detonator Key

Now use the key to open the door in the ledge with the tree, shoot the killer, pick up his 2 X large medipack; enter, shoot a doberman and a killer and pick up his Detonator Key; there are shotgun shells and a small medipack in a corner too. Go outside and from the first ledge take a curved standing jump to grab the ladder, climb up to the top, pull up and jump back to land onto a high ledge, shoot the killer, pick up the small medipack and use the detonator key to open the remaining door at the bottom; go there, shoot another killer, pick up his small medipack, enter, shoot the doberman and the killer, pick up his shotgun shells, pick up the small medipack, the flares and pull the switch in the corner to open a door somewhere; shoot the windows if you want and in the next courtyard shoot a doberman and pick up the shotgun shells.

 

Movable Blocks Puzzle

Now go back to the room where you got the detonator key, shoot another killer and locate the door you opened moments ago. Enter and in this room the four blocks are movable, place them onto the tiles with the same texture to open the next doors. Advance through the corridor, pull the switch and enter the next hall.

 

Hall with Chandeliers

Shoot the doberman and the brawler, pick up his shotgun shells, pick up more shotgun shells next to the table, shoot a mafioso boss and go up either stairs to the very top. Jump into the pool to get flares and go to the other side; use the chandeliers to reach the window sill and pull the switch to open the door at the top of the ladder below, jump to the ledge with the large and small medipacks if you want and make your way to go down to the bottom of the room.

 

The Second Bronze Key

Climb up the ladder and pull the switch to open a door somewhere, climb down, shoot another mafioso boss and run up the stairs to the very top to find the open door and get the second Bronze Key. Get back onto the chandeliers and this time jump to the one in the left side and take a running jump to the opening without balustrade between the pillars, go left to find the keyhole, open the door, enter and continue to find an outside area with the boat.

 

Area with the Boat

Jump into the water and swim to the far left corner to find an underwater lever, pull it to open a door in the opposite corner, go there with the boat (the boat is necessary) dismount on the wooden pier, advance, shoot the tiger (a tiger in Venice?) and the killer, climb the niche in the corner near the map, pull the switch and go to the other corner to find the open door and finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 3 – RESTRICTED AREA

 

Poisonous Pool Area

Slide down the ramp and run up the next ramp, at the top of the stairs pull the wheel-switch and continue to a room with a deadly pool; from the back of the room jump onto the block and jump to the ledge in the right side. Pull the switch and in the next room note the red keycard under the circular saw; pick up the Harpoon Gun and 4 X harpoons, advance, jump into the pool, shoot the frogman and pull the underwater lever to open a door in the room with the deadly pool. Go back there, jump to the opposite ledge to find it and in this corridor go right to pick up 3 X uzi clips, go to the other side, shoot the doberman and the killers, pick up his large medipack, small medipack, shotgun shells and the Uzis.

 

Room with Several Floors

In the next room shoot the killer coming from your left, pick up his shotgun shells and uzi clips, go counterclockwise to the end of the ledge and jump from block to block to go down to the lower level. Shoot the killers and the flamethrower and pick up his goodies: a small medipack, 3 X shotgun shells and the Chip you need; go back to the blocks and climb to the middle level, shoot the killer, pick up the shotgun shells he drops and pull the metallic box to reveal a large medipack and more shotgun shells; now go all the way back to the room with the circular saw the way you came shooting a killer in the upper ledges on your way. Use the chip to stop the saw and pick up the Red Keycard, now go back to the corridor where you got the Uzis and open the corresponding door.

 

Pool Room

In the bedrooms area shoot a doberman and a killer, pick up his shotgun shells and advance to find another doberman and another killer to shoot, pick up the 3 X harpoons he drops, jump into the pool, shoot the frogman and swim to the end of the passage to find an underwater lever which stops the big fan in the opposite side, swim there and pull another underwater lever in the left side to open a door somewhere. Get out of the water and exit this room to find the open door just ahead. Shoot the doberman, press the button and in the next room pick up 2 X uzi clips and 4 X shotgun shells; enter the pool room to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 4 – ANOTHER DIMENSION...

 

First Rooms

Advance and in the room with the second large pool go left and near the corner there’s a broken pillar you can climb, climb even higher to the room above with the big fan, pick up 2 X shotgun shells and 3 X uzi clips, go left to find a medipack in a corner and go through the opening in the right side of the big fan (I don’t know if the button triggers something more than the big fan). In the room with the very long pool there’s a hole in its center, swim there and follow the underwater passage to a room with a huge pool; turn left and walk diagonally to the corner, drop through the water hole, swim and pick up the Automatic Pistols plus 2 X automatic pistols ammo. In the next room shoot two giant spiders and advance following the only possible path (shoot another big spider on your way) until you find a closed door. Jump into the pool to your right to find another hole in the floor, swim to find an underwater lever, swim back, shoot another big spider and continue to find a very large room with more pools.

 

Huge Room with Crystals

Run ahead to the central pillar and locate the gray tile in the floor: it’s a bounce pad; use it to reach the top of the nearby block, climb the next one, take a running jump to grab the edge of the tall block with the fences and take a last running jump to reach the high ledge. Turn left and take a running jump over the tile with the crystals trying to land onto the edge of the bounce pad closest to the next crystals, jump with grab to land onto the safe tile, the next jumps are easy. Go to the end of the ledge and use the next tall blocks to cross to the ledge at the other side of the room, shoot the big spiders and run to the end, take a couple of standing jumps to the recess with the switch and pull it to flood the room. Roll, approach to the edge of this ledge and look down to spot an underwater lever near the corner to your left, jump into the water and swim there, pull it and swim to the pillar in the center of the room to find another switch to pull; now jump back, turn left and look for an underwater crawlspace between the pillars in the wall ahead; after a long swim, surface and advance to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 5 – ANOTHER DIMENSION ACT 2

 

The Bronze Key

Run to the very end of this street and use the bounce pad (with grab) to reach the high ledge with the switch, pull it to open a door somewhere, drop down, shoot the Xian warrior and go back to the middle of the street; turn left and go to the alley opposite the building with the keyhole, run ahead to the small pool and locate the open door in the right side; pick up the large medipack and the Bronze Key, go back to the main street and use the key to open the doors of the nearby building.

 

Inside the Building

Enter, shoot a warrior and from the entrance go right when possible until you find a narrow corridor, continue left at the junction and soon you’ll find yourself in an outside alley. Go left to a courtyard, shoot the warrior and pick up 4 X shotgun shells, a large medipack and a small medipack; locate the switch in the corner and pull it to open the door in the alley. Go there and a trapdoor will open as you approach, jump over the hole to get 3 X shotgun shells and drop down into a hall with two warriors.

 

The Library

Run up either stairs and around the corner shoot two warriors, enter the library and go straight ahead to the back of the room (ignore the first bounce pad; jump over it), shoot another warrior and find a second bounce pad you can use to jump to the top of the nearby bookcase in the right side; go right and take a long running jump to the top of the next bookcase, jump onto the bounce pad with grab to land onto the ledge with the switch; pull it to trigger something in the main hall and alert another warrior. Go back to the main hall and up the short stairs, pick up 2 X shotgun shells, a small medipack and uzi clips; go behind the arches and look for a hole between the pillars to find a second Bronze Key, pick it up, go back to the main hall, open the door in the corner and advance to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 6 – ANOTHER DIMENSION ACT 3

 

Inner Rooms

Climb the opening in the corner and in the lava room run/jump onto the wooden tiles to cross to the other side; the next room is empty, but I ran around for a moment and something was triggered, go back to the corridor and see that it has changed. At the end of the corridor the door opens as you approach, go outside, pick up the Grenade Launcher plus 5 X grenades, run up the stairs, shoot a giant spider and go left, pick up a large medipack and shoot a warrior.

 

The Mystic Plaque

Continue climbing the next ledge to your right and go right, when reaching the corner turn left and jump to the ledge behind the pillar, shoot a big spider and pull the switch to activate a bounce pad; go back to the corner and continue to the end of the ledge to find it. Use the bounce pad to reach the high ledge, climb even higher, turn around and take a running jump to land onto the small wooden ledge below, continue jumping/climbing and when you are at the top of the red pillar, turn around, shoot a flying warrior and advance running/jumping in a counterclockwise direction all around the room until you eventually find a ladder in a corner, climb down the ladder, take a running jump to the next wooden ledge, climb up the next ladder and finally get the Mystic Plaque. Up to four warriors come to life, so better use the zip-line and kill them from below.

 

The Dragon Seal

From the ledge you dropped from the zip-line, note the still usefulness bounce pad and go to the nearby corner, jump to the ledge with 4 X shotgun shells and climb even higher, to the top of the pillar attached to the wall; jump to the next ledge and around the corner with the tree to activate the bounce pad below. Make your way to go there, shoot the big spider and use the bounce pad to reach the higher ledges above, pick up the M16 ammo and climb the ledge with the movable block, pull it once and pick up the Dragon Seal it hides. Go back down to the ledge with the last bounce pad you used. Pick up the M16 Gun, 4 X M16 ammo, shotgun shells and use the artifacts to open the doors, advance to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 7 – ANOTHER DIMENSION ACT 4

 

Way of Traps

Don’t think about it too much because a moving spiked wall is at your back; jump over the moving blades and do the same in the next corridor; I lost some health when taking a running jump in the corridor over the spikes, and timing the rolling wheels was not too hard at all. When approaching to the closed door it opens, enter and wait a bit in the corner until it closes. Shoot the knife throwers and run up the stairs to the upper floor to get 4 X shotgun shells; go back down to the lower floor and press an invisible button in the yellow clock near the table, locate the open door near the corner, enter, shoot a warrior, pick up flares and 4 X shotgun shells; from the entrance go right and look for a wall switch near the corner to open the gates in the main hall.

 

The Bronze key

In the next area shoot the knife throwers and to get extra items go to the passage opposite the stairs to trigger a spiked wall, when it stops go to the place it was and pick up 3 X shotgun shells, M16 ammo and a large medipack. Now run up the stairs, climb the block to your right, jump over the holes avoiding the moving blade and time the moving wheels to go to the right side (in the left side there’s only a trap). Time the next moving wheel and look for an opening in the balustrade to jump to the chandeliers; on the last one pick up the Bronze Key; quickly go back down to the bottom of the hall and shoot all the warriors. Go back to the dark room with spikes in the entrance and look for a moving blade in the back side, next to it find the keyhole and open the door, enter and fight with the Guardian of the Talion; when he’s defeated the level ends.

 

 

LEVEL 8 – ANOTHER DIMENSION ACT 5

 

The Golden Key

Enter the library, shoot the warrior and in the area where he was waiting go to the left to find a switch in a niche, don’t pull it yet but remember where it is. In this area there is a low bookcase, climb it and take a running jump to the ornate pillar, turn left and take a standing jump to reach the top of the higher bookcases. Once at the top locate the wall switch in the far corner (right side) and pull it to open the door below, now drop down and go to the niche to pull the switch you ignored earlier (sometimes it doesn’t work very well, go out and look if it raised blocks on the bookcases you used to climb the first time, if not, pull it again). Now go to the door you opened moments ago and climb to the top of the bookcases, go back to the bookcases you used to climb the first time and locate two raised blocks, climb them and take a running jump to the high ledge with the fences to get the Golden Key.

 

Go back to the raised blocks and this time cross to the other side of the room, go to the corner in the right side and climb to the high ledge with the fences to find the keyhole; use the key, go back down to the floor and locate the open door in the area where the warrior was.

 

Second Dark Library

In this part of the library shoot the warrior and pick up 6 X shotgun shells, uzi clips and 2 X large medipack; advance and go always right when possible to find a big spider, continue always right and eventually you’ll find a large medipack and another big spider; further ahead is the dragon skeleton, continue always right until you find another big spider and a warrior attacking from your back. In this area look for a low bookcase in a corner, climb several times and from the very top run/jump to the top of the next bookcases until you find a rocky floor where the level ends.

 

 

LEVEL 9 – ANOTHER DIMENSION ACT 6

 

The Dragon

Shoot the warriors, pick up the shotgun shells on the wooden ledge and pull the switch next to the lamp to open the exit door. In the next room shoot more warriors and pull the switch in the corner to open the door in the opposite corner. In this dark room shoot the dragon and look for a switch in a dark corner to activate the nearby bounce pad, use it to reach the top of the bookcases and run to the other side to finish this level.

 

 

LEVEL 10 – PART 2 INFORMATION

 

Exit the corridor and go right, and right again to the corner, press the button to open the gates and in the next room approach to the paintings and when you go back to the previous room the level finishes.

 

 

LEVEL 11 – CHRISTMAS SPECIAL

 

[Note:] Never save and reload before you reach the snowy areas or the game will crash inside the refrigerator and you won’t be able to play the last level. [End note]

 

Driving the Snowmobile

Enter the bathroom, pick up the flares and press the button to open the exit door. Go out and down the stairs to the main hall; go to the kitchen, press the button to open the door of the refrigerator and climb the ledge with the meat to trigger a flipmap; exit to an outside area. Mount the snowmobile and run over the killer, dismount if you want the large medipack and mount again to kill a tiger further on (the snowmobile is necessary to finish the level). Drive right at the junction with the horse statue and up the steep ramp at the end. In the room with the pit try to land onto the narrow bridge below, continue driving with boost over the next pit, hit the brakes and in the outside area descend carefully from the ramps in the left side, run over the killer but don’t dismount.

 

The Iron Key

Drive left (looking from the entrance) to the end of the frozen lake and go up the narrow ramp to the top, dismount and go right to find the Iron Key in the corner, go back down to the lake and now explore the area opposite the entrance where does the yeti come from to find the closed door near a very tall blue pillar; open it with the key, enter, drop into the hole and pick up the Gift to finish this adventure.

 

October – 21 – 2024
