Level 1: HELIOPOLIS
After the impressive opening flyby through the environs, go left around the building to find yellow light sticks (which I'll document hereafter by using their more familiar name: flares) in the dead weeds. Go back around, note the grazing camel and enter the building. Head diagonally to your right toward the canal you saw in the flyby, go across the bridge and go left or right around the small building to your right. Shoot the crates at the NW corner for shotgun wideshot ammo, go back S, down the steps and loop around right for more flares.
Go back up the steps, across the bridge and head right up the grassy hill to a building with a crawl space on the W side (leading to a closed trap door for later). Continue S past the building and jump across to the flat red roof of the next building. From there jump SE onto the balcony of a multi-story building and look for explosive arrows in the window alcove. Jump back to the flat red roof and the grassy hill, go right around the building and from the flat spot N of the yellow flowers take a running jump E to grab the horizontal plank on the tall wooden structure. Shimmy right around the corner and ledge jump up to grab the higher platform.
Pull up, step forward and pick up an IBIS STATUETTE for SECRET #1. Hop back, grab and drop two times to the ground. Turn right and run E around to the rear of the building to find uzi ammo hidden in the purple flowers. Run back W toward the grassy hill and loop left around the next building to find a door to your left in the alley beyond the hanging laundry. Open the door and enter a small gathering area where you'll find flares and something called small date branch that looks more like a dead insect, so from now on I'll call it a small medipack.
Exit and go left around the wall to a fountain filled with unappetizing green water. Jump in and look for uzi ammo at the NW corner. Pull out and go under the W arch, shoot the crates next to a small building for shotgun normal ammo and go around to the S side of this building. Shoot multiple crates to expose the UZIS (face W to pick them up). Continue W from here, jump over the canal and from a distance shoot the crates at the SW corner. Hop back, wait for the explosions to subside and run forward to find the NEFERTITI BUST for SECRET #2.
Go back to the canal, jump into the water and swim S (lighting a flare if necessary) to find a first aid kit (analogous to a large medipack). Return, swim under the bridge and look up to see a ceiling hole. Surface there, pull out and take the HORUS KEY from the plinth as an enemy helicopter arrives, lands on the roof of a nearby building and waits for several combatants to disembark. Return to the canal, pull out somewhere and engage three ninjas and a guard. Search the bodies of the ninjas for 3 x uzi ammo. When the guard dies, the ANUBIS KEY appears in your inventory.
Go back E to that small fountain pool with the green water where you got the uzi ammo and head down the steps at the E wall. Find receptacles on either side of the statue near the SE corner. Place both keys and a cut scene shows the trap door opening beyond the crawl space you noted earlier. Return to the grassy hill and the building on top, enter the crawl space facing E and drop down past the opened trap door into the water below to end the level.
Level 2: VALLEY OF MYSTICAL WINDS
Let the current carry you a bit, then continue swimming S until you can surface and pull out SE before two crocodiles arrive. After killing them, jump back into the water and search the plant at the NW corner for the LASER SIGHT. Near the entrance to this area is an E side tunnel with shotgun normal ammo and at the SW corner is uzi ammo. Pull back out and head SW toward the swirling sands. When you hop onto the ledge Lara says something about Trinity being here as three ninjas attack, two from ahead and one from behind. Unfortunately, they don't drop anything of value, so hop up S from the lower ledge onto the higher ledge and drop down into an enclosed alley on the other side.
Save your game for a timed run and pull down the wall switch. Reverse roll, run a bit left and pull up at a low point on the S wall. Take a rolling back flip and hop down to where you encountered the ninjas. Turn right and run E toward a sphinx with the timed trap door between its paws. Hop down to find THE ATLAS on a plinth for SECRET #3. If you got there in time the trap door will re-open, so pull out W and turn right. Pull up higher S, run up to the SE corner and find an opening hidden by one of the date palms. Hop down to find the GOLDEN KHOPESH on a plinth for SECRET #4.
Pull out and run N along the right side of the lake until you encounter a black panther beyond the crest of the hill. Shoot the crates NE for uzi ammo and return to the lake. Jump into the water and find an opening near the NW corner where you picked up the laser sight. Swim inside for a small medipack and pull down the ceiling switch to lower a gate elsewhere. Exit, pull out of the water and head W over the ledge to a wall opening. Enter, find the side passage to your left, enter and turn around at the floor hole. There's a spike trap down below, so crawl backward and you should drop safely into an alcove with the GRENADE GUN.
To get out, stand jump S to grab the sloped ledge and ledge jump back to grab the floor hole opening. Pull out into the passage, turn left and run W just past an obelisk. Hop up SW, walk up as high as you can and pull up W onto a rock ledge. Follow the S wall to a crawl space with revolver ammo and grenades. Get out, slide back down N, run past the obelisk and loop around right for flares next to what seems to be a tomb entrance. Continue N from there toward the far wall and find another tomb entrance for uzi ammo.
Pull up E and follow the N wall toward a date palm and look left to see an opening. Pull up, go around and grab the E crevice. Shimmy right around the corner, ledge jump up to grab the higher ledge, pull up and turn right. Follow the ledge, enjoy the scenery and when you can go no further, hang from the edge and shimmy right until you can pull up. Continue along the ledge and take a rather tricky jump NE to clear an obstruction. From there, take a running jump and grab E, pull up and continue to a swingpole jutting from the rock wall. Take a running jump to grab it, swing around and jump off with grab to land on a triangular ledge. Hop to the adjacent opening and go through the passage to face a row of swingpoles.
Take a running jump to grab the first of three, jump off each one in succession, veering left each time, and curve left in midair from the last one to land on the S ledge. Walk into a fixed camera, hit the look key to restore camera control, turn around and hop backwards off the W edge of the ledge. Drop onto a slope, slide and grab at the bottom. Pull up, back flip onto the slope behind you and jump without sliding to grab a higher slope. Keep the action key depressed as you pull up, and Lara will somehow jump up to grab the monkey bars. Turn around in place and monkey swing W. Drop down, pull up higher W and find a nearby floor hole to your right.
Safety drop into the hole for the SCARAB and slide down N. Loop around left to engage a ninja and grab the uzi ammo he dropped. Run N around the left side of the lake and past a smaller lake (where I got caught in a softlock when I jumped in to explore) to a familiar opening in the N wall. Pull inside, repeat what you did earlier to get up to that higher ledge, but this time turn left and follow the passage W until you're challenged by two scorpions. Turn left into the opening from where they emerged, face N, hop back to grab the edge and shimmy right past the obstruction and around the corner to near the wall. Ledge jump back to grab a jutting ledge, pull up and turn right.
Stand jump with grab to land inside the S nook, reverse roll and hop back to hang from the S edge, shimmy left and ledge jump up to grab the higher ledge and get a remote camera. Ledge jump back, grab the S ledge and pull up. Loop around left to an alcove, shoot the crates for shotgun wideshot ammo and get onto the broken bridge. Jump across to the other side, pick up the EYE OF HORUS but go no further. Turn around, jump back across the bridge and return the way you came. Stand jump N into the fixed camera, grab the crack, release to grab the lower crack, shimmy right and pull up.
Walk forward, turn left and stand jump to grab the crack. Shimmy left around the corner and past the obstruction, pull up and go into the scorpion passage. Turn left and take a running jump W over the swingpole into the opening below. Follow the passage, shoot another scorpion and continue underneath a suspended boulder. Start sprinting when you trigger it, turn left into the S side passage and a fixed camera as a second boulder is triggered, reverse roll to grab the edge and shimmy left to evade the second boulder.
Continue along the crack until you can pull up and hop up SW to find a TORCH among the pile. Toss it down SE along with one or two more for good luck, follow the ledge S and jump over SE onto a flat spot. Take a running jump down SW and follow the ledge to greet a scorpion. Continue to some crates and shoot them to reveal a first aid kit and shotgun normal ammo. Turn around and run back N into the passage and follow to the N end. Walk down a bit to your right to a lower area, turn to face SW and jump onto the slope with a left curve. Slide and grab, shimmy right and pull up S into a passage with a ladder at the far end.
Climb to the top, pull up higher and run forward to a plinth with THE LOST PIECE OF THE SCION for SECRET #5. Go back the way you came, safety drop to the ground and pick up the nearby small medipack. Exit N over the short wall and pick up a torch that you tossed down from above. There's a convenient flame at the NW corner, so light the torch there and go around to the SW corner and light the other urn. Doors open between the urns, so leave the torch here and enter to face a quartet of rising and falling platforms in the lava room ahead. Time standing jumps to the first two and running jumps to the next two, hop into the W opening and follow to a plinth with the ANKH.
Go back to the opening to the lava room and wait for the nearest platform to get to its lowest point. Save your game and run back to the timed wall switch near the plinth in the N wall. Pull it down to lift a platform next to a wall opening back in the lava room, reverse roll and run E toward the opening to run off (without jumping) onto the left side of the rising platform. Turn right and take a running jump onto the timed platform. Continue into the S passage and greet a soldier as you turn the corner and go up a slight incline. Pick up the SHOTGUN he dropped and continue into a wide room.
Turn left into the S nook and place the Ankh in the receptacle. Just beyond the sarcophagus you'll find receptacles for the Eye of Horus and Scarab. The sarcophagus moves aside, so drop down the floor hole and go to the plinth for the ANCIENT TEXT. Examine it for the solution to the upcoming obelisk puzzle (as previewed in the cut scene), pull back out and shoot the SW vase for flares. Proceed into the S side room and use the reach-in switch for revolver ammo. Pull up two times E and nearby sword-wielding statues will be activated.
The nearby vases are empty and a ninja lurks beyond the NW opening. Pick up his uzi ammo and shoot the vases against the wall for a small medipack. Bypass the statues into the NE passage and jump over the sneaky spear trap. Loop around left to an opening that overlooks the sarcophagus room. Face slightly NW and take a running jump onto the sloped bridge. Slide down into an alcove with a reach-in switch that provides you with the REVOLVER and lowers a rope beside the bridge.
Take a running jump to grab the rope, turn around to face the SE opening you jumped from, swing forward and jump off to land near the statues. Turn left, pull out of trench and engage the waiting ninja. He leaves nothing behind, so run E toward the twin lakes. You may recall the submerged crates in the larger lake, so combine the laser light and revolver and shoot them. Jump into the water and swim down to THE MILLENNIUM PUZZLE for SECRET #6.
Pull out and head SW over the short wall to the tunnel leading to the obelisk. Remembering the clue in the Ancient Text, step first onto the green-tinted N raised slab, face SW and stand jump onto the other three slabs in a counterclockwise direction. The obelisk will move aside, allowing you to drop down into the floor hole and slide to the next level.
Level 3: UNDERGROUND COMPLEX
Go around either way into the next room and shoot two scorpions. Move two pushblocks onto the marked tiles, pausing along the way to deal with an approaching soldier (listen for the warning sound). The floor trap door opens, so safety drop to a lower passage and step forward to trigger a flyby through the vast area ahead.
Take a running jump onto the first of two nearby moving platforms, then to the next one and onto the top of the central column. The jumps are trickier than they may first appear, so exercise special care. Face NW and repeat with the next platform and column, do likewise to land on a ledge near the top of the NE column and pull up. Take a running jump to grab the opening in the E structure and pull inside to be greeted by a harpy. Avoid the central floor hole for now and shoot the corner vases for uzi ammo.
Pull up E two times and go right around the pyramid to trigger a horizontal blade. When the blade starts moving away, run after it and duck into the E opening. Turn around and hop back to activate a jump switch that opens a door down in the floor hole. Drop down and go to the SE opening. Stand jump onto the moving platform and again onto the column. Use the tightrope to get across to the next column (don't save and try to reload along the way, and don't be distracted by the action music and remote camera).
Time a running jump S onto the moving platform and jump to grab the crack in the column ahead. Ledge jump up, pull up three times to the top and take a running jump to grab the S opening. Pull inside, go around and back flip onto the slope. Jump off to grab the higher floor and pull up into a room with flameblowers. Shoot the SE vase for explosive arrows and the NW vase for uzi ammo. Shoot the NE vase so you can get at a timed wall switch that turns off the W flames for a short time. Run there, activate the jump switch to turn off the E flames, run back there and push the floor lever to neutralize a spear trap at the SW opening.
However, the spears stay up, so walk carefully through them to a zip line. Ride down to a block that lowers in front of you. Continue forward and around the corner to be taken to the next level.
Level 4: DARK PYRAMID
Turn the corner to face a gauntlet of swinging chains. Make your way past them and loop around right into the N side room with multiple wall switches. Turn left and pull down the nearby switch next to the SW corner. Reverse roll and go diagonally left to the NE switch and pull it down to hear the sound of a door opening.
Exit this room and run across the hallway past the opened S door to face a lava room. Save your game, hang from the edge and see a temperature bar appear on your screen. Shimmy left and ledge jump back to grab the first of two swingpoles. Swing and jump twice to land on a breaktile. Stand jump over the next breaktile to land on a slope. Slide and jump off to grab another swingpole, swing and jump off onto a ledge next to a plinth with the HORUS CANOPIC JAR(1 of 2).
Face N, slide down the slope and jump over the gap. Run forward under the arch to attract two jackals and go down the NW passage for shotgun normal ammo. Activate the timed jump switch in the N wall, reverse roll and run diagonally to your left up the steps. Jump the gap with a midair roll so you can jump off the slope and grab the swingpole. Swing around and jump off onto the timed platform, continue with a running jump into the N opening and go across the hall into the room with the wall switches.
Go all the way to the back wall and pull down the NE switch. Exit this room, turn right in the hallway and go up the steps to a higher hallway. Shoot the vase for flares, note the closed S door and continue up the next flight of steps to a closed door on your right. Hop N across the gap and run forward to activate two sets of teeth doors. Get past them and search the sarcophagus (face W) for a first aid kit and explosive arrows.
Go past the opened E door into a side room Turn left and push the large wall button to trigger a cut scene and release a giant arachnid that behaves much like a demigod. Get close to it, stoop and fire at it repeatedly until it explodes and leaves behind the HORUS CANOPIC JAR (2 of 2). Exit this room, turn left and get past the teeth doors, jump the S gap and go past the opened door into a passage with a spear pit. Note the rising and falling triangle in the distance and use the combined revolver and laser sight to shoot the green gem. Watch the flyby, go back the way you came and turn left to go down both flights of steps and into the N room with the wall switches.
A floor opening has appeared near the back wall, so safety drop from the E side into the room below, go down the steps and jump into the pool you saw in the flyby. Swim down for the ISIS KNOT, surface and pull out, go back up the steps and pull up into the room with the wall switches. Exit S to the hallway, turn right and go up the steps to the next hallway, run to the closed N door and place the Horus Canopic Jars on the two plinths to open it. Enter the next room to trigger a flameblower, go to the nearest wall switch (E) and pull it down to turn off the flames and start another flameblower. Make your way around the room in a counterclockwise direction and pull down a total of four switches before turning around to grab the DJED PILLAR from the plinth.
Exit S, run down the hallway and loop around left to find a spear-lined passage. Take angled running jumps across the room from one safe spot to the next, then jump NE to grab the slope. Shimmy left, ledge jump back to grab the facing slope, shimmy right and pull up W into a passage. Follow around to a plinth with the CROSSBOW and go back to safety drop from the opening. Run forward into a new hallway and put that crossbow to good use as a harpy attacks. Shoot the vase in the far corner for revolver ammo and go back to the NE opening.
Run up the ramp to a new room, shoot the empty corner vases if you like and place the Knot and Pillar in their respective S receptacles.The ornate double doors between them opens, so enter and shoot the four wall vases for revolver ammo, shotgun normal ammo, a first aid kit and uzi ammo. Take THE BOOK OF AMUN RA from the S plinth to summon Seth. Side flip right or left as soon as camera control is restored, reverse roll while drawing a powerful weapon and evade Seth as best you're able while continuing to fire at him. He'll eventually explode, and when he does, enter the dark S passage past the plinth and keep running until you hit the finish trigger.
