DRACULA HOUSE3

Step out of the helix into an alien setting. Go through the S opening up the steps and pull up into a room reminiscent of one of the Rescue levels. Ignore the pushpieces for now and go through the SW opening up the steps to a small room with a pole. Climb up past the dormant blades past a similar room and back flip onto more steps. Continue around to a pit, safety drop to the floor and pull out the other side.

 

Run across the room and pull down the wall switch to open one of the W doors. Proceed through the passage, pause for flares and continue to a room where you hear the groans of someone in distress. The shelves against the E wall are pushpieces, so pull the ones on either end one time each to reveal two wall switches (leave the middle one in place for now). Pull both down to lift platforms hanging from the ceiling above the table behind you. Hop onto the crate against the S wall to trigger a ghostly wraith with destructive powers.

 

Jump up to grab the ceiling and quickly monkey swing over the table toward the N wall while being pestered by the wraith. Drop down, pick up the WOODEN STICK 1 at your feet to open a floor trap door and run off to your right into the water hole to douse the wraith. Swim around the corner and pull out near a thirsty beauty who's unable to get at you. Locate the ladder on the column against the S wall and climb up for the CROSSBOW. When you pick it up you hear the sound of a door opening, so pull up E, approach the opened crawl space and turn around to shoot a sneaky rat.

 

Enter the crawl space, climb down the ladder at the other end and avoid the feisty undead lady while making your way to a wall switch that lowers a cage in a previous room and opens the door behind you. Exit, jump up to grab the column ladder and back flip onto the adjacent column where the cage lowered. Pick up the small medipack to open another door in the room above, jump back S to the first column and pull up W to attract another rat. Enter the exposed SW crawl space, climb down the ladder as before and pull down the wall switch in the unoccupied passage. However, the undead lady is now on the loose, so squeeze past her and jump up to grab the column ladder once again.

 

Back flip onto the next column, take a running jump to grab the third column where the cage lowered (to the right or left of the flame) and pull up for the LASER SIGHT. Another door opens when you pick it up, so make your way back to the upper room, shoot another rat and crawl toward the NE corner where the door opened. Climb down the ladder to a passage where a second undead lady is waiting, pull down the wall switch to lower another cage and get back to the S column ladder. Make your way to the fourth column, pick up the explosive crossbow arrows to open another door and get back up to the attic.

 

The opened door is at the NW corner, so make your way there (no rat this time) and climb down to the passage guarded by a third undead lady. Pull down the wall switch that you would expect to lower the final cage. However, instead it raises a previously lowered cage, which complicates things. Arm your crossbow with an explosive arrow and try to take out all three beauties at one time so you won't be further distracted. Go to the SW passage and pull the switch back up. Voila! All cages are now lowered, but the exit door has closed to block your escape.

 

Turn around and look up to see a ladder. Jump to grab it, climb up to a crawl space and return to the attic. Drop through the nearby floor hole and make your way across the column tops to the last one against the N wall for the WOODEN STICK 2, as a ceiling trap door opens in the room with the crates and the long table. Drop to the floor, go to the SE water hole and swim to the previous room. Hop onto the crate against the W wall and pull up into the high opening. Get past the slowly turning blades and drop down to a lower passage. Safety drop to a room with colored pushpieces and shoot three bats. Grab the small medipack near the W wall and move the three pushpieces onto the W tiles bearing their respective colors. Each time you do so, the pushpiece is transported elsewhere.

 

A cage rises against the W wall, so use it to pull up into the E passage and follow around the corner after picking up the SCROLL that advises how to deal with air wraiths. Continue to the end of the passage, jump to grab the pole and slide down to the floor. Combine the Wooden Sticks and place the WOODEN CROSS on the corner stand as double doors open elsewhere. Face E, climb the pole to the top and back flip into a passage with dormant blades. Follow around corners until you meet up with a wraith, retreat to the pole and climb down to the stand with the Wooden Cross. Wait for the wraith to self destruct, mount the pole facing E and back flip into a lower passage. Follow around, pull up W for a large medipack and step forward to claim a GOLDEN ROSE for SECRET #1.

 

When you pick it up you activate the formerly dormant blade in the pole shaft, so go back there, run off the edge to grab the pole and climb up past the rotating/revolving blades. Back flip into the upper passage with those slowly rotating blades attached to the central poles. Get past all three and drop down the floor hole onto the raised cage in the pushpiece room. Approach the N passage with the treadmill coming toward you, take a running jump NW with grab to land inside the nearest alcove to your left and repeat to the NE alcove and again to the NW alcove and finally NE to the area beyond the treadmill. Grab the small medipack and face another treadmill.

 

Get past it in the same manner, first NW (although a direct running jump into the SW alcove is possible), then SW, then NW and finally SW to the safe area. Follow the N passage to a warehouse area and do battle with two Tinnos wasps. Climb onto the NE crates and drop in the hole between them for a small medipack. Go to the SW corner and kick over the shelves blocking your way. Hop over them, go down the steps and climb down the ladder at the end. Back up into a corner next to the ladder and kill the attacking harpy.

 

You're still a long way up from the floor, so grab the adjacent ladder on the W bookshelf and climb up to a crawl space. Pull inside and crawl around as far as you can go. Drop down the other side, turn around and jump to grab the ladder. Climb to the next level, deal with another harpy and safety drop past another crawl space (for later) to the library floor. Go to the SE wall switch and pull it down to open a nearby door. Climb the NE ladder past the flaming wall torch and back flip onto a ledge. Climb up W, pull into the crawl space and crawl forward past the opened door.

 

Drop down into a short passage with a wall switch that opens another nearby door. Return to the crawl space, turn right and crawl toward the ladder. Drop down, hang from the edge, drop again and grab the lower crawl space you ignored earlier. Pull inside and crawl N to the opened door, drop down two times into a crypt and pull down the switch in the N wall to lower a trap door at your feet. In the dark room with the grated floor, loop around the brick chimney column and activate the jump switch to open another trap door.

 

You're now underneath the grated floor, so locate the pushblock among the crates against the E wall and pull it away from the SE corner so you can go around and pick up the WOODEN STAKE (cut scene). Return to the brick chimney column, locate another nearby pushblock and pull it one time E and push it one time S. Go around it to a third pushblock against the W wall and move it beside the second pushblock. Go around to the NW corner for a GOLDEN ROSE and SECRET #2. Return to the chimney column where you dropped down, face S and jump up to grab the grated floor. Pull up, turn right and pull up onto the crates. Mount the pole and climb past the rotating/revolving blade.

 

Back flip into a with one of those poles with an attached blade, get past it and jump over the floor hole. Continue to the receptacle for the Wooden Stake and place it with the down arrow key depressed so that you jump back without falling down to the room below (a trap door will open at your feet). Go back toward the floor hole as a cut scene shows a door opening. Safety drop into the crypt, use the raised cage against the S wall to pull into the opening and pull up higher into the crawl space. Drop down to the library floor, climb the NE ladder and back flip onto the bookshelf. Climb up onto the top of the shelf and crawl around the corner toward the S ladder.

 

Drop down at the end of the shelf, climb the S ladder and back flip onto the upper shelf. Climb up even higher and crawl around the corner toward a third ladder in the N wall. Drop down at the end of the shelf (or simply shift right onto the ladder), climb the N ladder and pull up into the passage by which you arrived. Jump over the shelf without getting caught in its collision and run across the room to the N opening. Go down the steps into a mirror room and note the wooden platforms extending from the walls and the chimney columns. Hop onto the wooden crate and jump NE onto the first platform. Take one standing jump N and one running jump N, turn left and take a running jump W to grab the next platform. Pull up, stand jump slightly SW and take a running jump S (no grab) to land on the next platform.

 

Stand jump with grab into the W alcove and pull down the invisible wall switch to lower a rope elsewhere. Safety drop to the floor, make the same counterclockwise circuit along the platforms, but this time when you reach the NW chimney column (with the wall sconce) stand jump SW with grab into an invisible alcove and drop down into a lower passage. Drop down at the end into a still lower passage, hang from the other end and release to grab a crawl space. Pull inside for a GOLDEN ROSE and SECRET #3. Continue forward, drop down into a small room and take DRACULA'S FANG from the plinth.

 

Pull up E into the crawl space, drop down at the other end and find a floor hole. Drop down to a lower passage, get past the slowly rotating blade and climb the pole past another rotating/revolving blade and back flip into a passage leading back to the mirror room. Drop down and exit NE up the steps to the dark room where the rope lowered. Stand on the central raised slab, face the right edge of the opening in the W wall, jump up to grab the rope and swing forward. Jump off with grab to land inside the passage (this may take a few tries) and get past two slowly rotating blades after pausing  for explosive arrows. Hop down to a ledge and safety drop to the room below.

 

Go to the SE floor hole and drop down two times to an extensive basement area. Follow left around the corner while being attacked by a growling and invincible Dracula. Continue S all the way to the far wall, turn left and hop up right as you near the E wall. Pull up higher where you'll be safe from Dracula's deadly bolts, go to the NW corner and look up S. Combine the laser sight with the crossbow and fire an explosive arrow toward the opening in the ceiling. A boulder drops down, so go back down to the basement area where Dracula is waiting and make your way W, N and E. Turn left near the wall and look up to see a second boulder lodged in the ceiling of the room ahead. Fire an explosive arrow at it to flood the area, swim out of this room (if you had entered it) and loop around right into the adjacent N room.

 

Swim past the arched opening, turn right to trigger a cut scene of a door opening, continue E and S into a large room and head generally SE past a number of horse statues (you can surface for air as needed) until you reach another arched opening with steps leading to a dry passage. When you surface and wade up the remaining steps, Dracula is destroyed in rather spectacular fashion. Run S down the passage to end the level.
