LARA’S HOME
Bottom Floor
Climb up the ladder in the SW corner and go N to pick up a Photograph from the small table with the lamp; back down, go out of this room (NW) and open the small door to your left leading to the basement. Crawl under the shelves in the corner and pick up a Note; go back up and left to the main hall, pick up the Note on the central table and go to the kitchen to get a Magazine from the small table and a Shield in the refrigerator. Exit SE and go right to the dining room, pick up a Note from the top of the fireplace and go back to the main hall.
First Floor
Run up the stairs to the first floor and enter Lara’s bedroom, open the door next to the bed and enter to get flares, a Photograph and the Back Gardens Key; exit and in the bath you can find a Shield too. Now go to the S side of this first floor, open the door, enter and go right to find a Note on the small table with the lamp, there is also a Magazine on the table near the windows; run up the stairs to an upper room where you can find a Photograph and a Note on the tables. Now go back down to the main hall, to the dining room and to the N corridor behind the curtains; open the small door with the key and enter the fountain room.
The Swimming Pool
Go left to the swimming pool and immediately left to a small room with a ladder, climb up to the top and pull the switch to move a statue somewhere; back down go to the other side of the entrance to press a button which opens the S door, go there and pick up a Note between the candles in the corner; here, the big fish statues in the W wall are pushable, push both to lower ladders in the S wall; climb up either ladder and pick up a Shield, exit this room and go back to the fountain room.
The Gym
Now enter the gym and climb the blue ledge with the “1” number to get a hint about what to do here; take a standing jump to grab the strip of white tiles, jump up to grab the upper one and shimmy left to the ledge with the ladder; climb up the ladder and grab the monkeyswing to cross to the corner ledge, press the button to lower the ladders and continue through the crawlspace; now jump to the first horizontal pole, swing to the second one and when hanging use the “Jump” key to climb it so you can jump to grab the higher one and swing to the niche in the corner, press the button to open a door and safely drop down onto the floor. Go back to the ledge with the “1” number, take a standing jump again to grab the strip but this time shimmy right and around the corner, jump back with twist to grab the next strip, shimmy right, pull up and press the button in the niche to lower a platform, drop/grab the edge, shimmy right, climb up the ladder and from the ledge with the “5” number perform a “sprint running jump” (keep the sprint key pressed and then press the forward and jump keys) to grab the far ledge with the open door, pick up the Shield, take a running jump onto the hanging platform and a last running jump to the window sill to your left, pick up the Music Room Key and jump into the pool to minimize damage.
The Attic
Go all the way back to the main hall of the mansion, again up to the first floor and to the N side, open the door in the corner, enter and go to the NE corner to pick up a Photograph and the Aunt Grace’s Bedroom Key; now go back down to the main hall and open the door in the SW corner. Enter and go to the back of the room to get a Note, now move the small table next to the W wall all the way to the other side of the room (E side) onto a patterned tile to open a painting-door at the top of the stairs in the main hall. Go there and enter the attic; explore this room to find flares and a Shield, then look for a movable crate in the SW corner and pull it to reveal an opening, enter and find a Note on the shelves to pick up, climb up the ladder, go through the crawlspace and pull the switch to lower a block at your back, enter the library and your exploration ends here.
LEVEL 1 – DESERT RUINS – THE CITADEL
Desert Ruins – The Crowbar
Advance E and climb the sentinel tower to get a map to be able to guide you better in this huge area. Shoot the wooden box to get the Shotgun and a scrap fabric (remember that you must combine a scrap fabric with medicinal herbs to get a small medipack). Climb down and let’s visit the points of interest now.
Go E to the desert ruins, near the building in the left side shoot the wooden box to get shotgun shells, climb up the stairs, pick up a large medipack and from this terrace use the poles to reach the top of the small balcony attached to the central tower, jump to grab the strip of white tiles, shimmy left around two corners, drop, take a standing jump to grab the upper balcony and a running jump to grab the wooden ledge in the last tower, go around to the other side and pick up the Crowbar.
Underground
Now go to the E side of this ruins to find a sort of excavation site, climb down the ladder and explore this cave to find flares and a Note near the skeleton, use the crowbar to open the E door and continue to find a pit. Drop down, pick up .44 ammo in the crawlspace to your left, shoot the lions in the next room, don’t touch the wall switch and climb up the ladder in the N wall (monkeyswing and grab the next ladder keeping pressed the “up arrow” key), jump onto the platform, press the button, climb up the ladder again, locate the open door and pull the wall switch to lower the floor in a building outside (citadel area). Go back outside the way you came shooting a couple of mercenaries in the cave (they will drop uzi ammo and the Uzis). Once outside you can go to the back side of the NE building to shoot a box and get shotgun shells; besides, now that you have the crowbar you can explore the area next to the sentinel tower to find a box you can break with it (facing S) to get Golden Bars, .44 ammo and uzi clips.
The Citadel
Anyway go SW to the citadel, under the big awning pick up .44 ammo and shotgun shells, turn around, climb up the wooden stairs of the building, pick up uzi clips and use the pole to swing to the next ledge and climb to the roof. Climb down the ladder and shoot the wooden box to get Golden Coins. Don’t try to drop down from here, but climb up the ladder and go back to the hole under the big awning outside. Drop down, slide and go left (W) to find a box with more Golden Coins; now drop down to the very bottom and explore this area to find a small medipack on a wall and in a corner shoot a spider and a box to pick up flares, shotgun shells, 2 X uzi clips and another small medipack. Now go to the N block with the scaffolding above, jump to grab the strip, jump again to grab the strip above, shimmy right around the corner and jump back with twist to grab the edge of the high ledge, press the button to clear the opening below and go there.
The Master Cog Key
From now, I’ll call this long passage the “main corridor”. Run to the end of the passage and pull both switches E and W, pick up the Note next to the skeleton and go back to the previous corridor to find one of the doors you opened in the left side; advance and the next door automatically opens, jump to grab the ladder in front of you and climb down to the very bottom, enter the W room, pull the switch and climb up the ladder to the top. Enter, go left and continue until you find a pit, take a sprint running jump to reach the opposite side and pick up the Master Cog Key; on your way back, drop into the pit to get a Secret Star if you want, jump over the spikes and climb up the ladder to get back up.
First Golden Cog
Once you are back at the top of the other pit take a standing jump onto the lower ledge with the receptacle to your left losing some health or if you want climb down to the bottom and use the ladder in the corner to get there to save health, use your new key to open the door, enter, go through the crawlspace, press the button to open the next door and if you want drop into the pit to find a Note and a small medipack. Anyway continue through the W opening and in the next room go right to get Golden Coins; forget the S hole and go through the next crawlspace, shoot the box to get uzi clips and flares, go N to find a small cave with wooden beams and chains, use the crowbar to get a Golden Cog, go back to the pit, step onto the marked tile next to the E wall, quickly climb up and pick up another Secret Star from the pedestal in the S wall. Go back to the room where you got the golden coins and now drop into the S hole.
Second Golden Cog
Advance S, use the master key to open the next gate, go left, time the first smashing walls and to get extra items jump to your right onto the ledge with the skeleton, pick up the small medipack, grab the ladder, shimmy left, climb down, go left around the corner, up to grab the monkeyswing and continue to the very end, drop, pick up another Secret Star, drop down, jump over the W wall and use the ladder in the corner to get back up on the high ledges. Time the second smashing walls, use the crowbar to get a second Golden Cog and pull the switch to open the next door; now go all the way back to the “main corridor” the way you came.
Third Golden Cog
Shoot the lion and open the nearby door with the master key; in this room run up the stairs, use the pole to reach the S strip, jump to grab the upper one, shimmy right, pull up, ignore the switch for now and take a running jump to the E small platform, another running jump to grab the strip in the E wall, jump up and pick up the medicinal herbs (combine them with the scrap fabric to obtain a small medipack), turn around and take a running jump to grab the far W ledge, pull up, press the button to lower horizontal poles, drop onto the small platform and take a running jump to the ledge with the wall switch. Save the game (it’s timed), pull it and take a standing jump onto the top of the lower NE wall, quickly use the poles to reach the far opening in the E wall, pull the switch and make your way to go back up to the highest ledge where you pressed the button as you did before. Shoot the snake and pull the floor lever to make changes in the previous room, go back there, jump onto the big flower pot E, turn right jump to the ladder and climb up to the upper floor. Use the crowbar in the machinery with the cog wheels to get a third Golden Cog and make your way to go back down to the “main corridor”. Shoot the lions and this time go S to the big cave.
Fourth Golden Cog
Climb the block in the NE corner and use the master key to open the door, enter and step onto the marked tile to raise the gate and carefully get a large medipack, now go through the S opening and when you approach to get another golden cog the trapdoors open, drop into the hole under the cog and pull the W switch, exit E and go right to a room with several fires on the blocks; pull all four switches left and right from the entrance to raise a platform on the central pillar, jump there to open a door, exit, go right back to the room with the Golden Cog, pry it and go back to the main cave.
A Secret Relic
Detour for a secret: go to the SE corner, climb up the ladder and go up the sandy slopes to get back outside. Now run a long way in a NE direction to the Secret Tomb marked in the map, jump onto the trigger tile to open the tomb, drop down through the hole, pick up a large medipack and the last Secret Star; place the stars in the receptacles to open the door and check the sarcophagus to get the Alchemical Relic. Use the ladders/monkeyswing to get back outside.
Exiting the Level
Go all the way back to the big cave you came from and locate a crawlspace in the W wall, go through, shoot the snake and continue to a room where you can place the cogs (two of them in ground floor and the other two in the upper ledge and the niche above the entrance taking a sprint running jump); now you can step onto the marked tile in the middle of the room to trigger something, exit to the main cave and after the cutscene shoot all the mercenaries; once all they are dead the level changes.
LEVEL 2 – ABANDONED MINES
Cave with Two Mine Huts
Open the doors in front of you and in the next room pick up the uzi clips and from the W opening safely drop into the floor below, pick up 2 X uzi clips, the .44 Magnums, advance to a cave area, shoot the mercenaries and pick up 2 X uzi clips they dropped; there is .44 ammo on a crate in front of the entrance too. Enter the NW building, pick up 2 X .44 ammo and check the PC to get a message; note the missed wires and the covered button and exit. Climb up to the roof of the building near the entrance, pick up more uzi clips and drop through the hole in the ceiling; exit E, check the PC to get more information and shoot a small box to get uzi clips. The N door is now open so go through, take the first opening to your left to get .44 ammo, a scrap fabric and flares; open the doors in the next storage room (note the high shootable grate [*]) and continue to another cave with more mercenaries.
First Secret Key
Pick up the uzi clips one of them drops and break the box next to the scaffolding to get flares, a scrap fabric and shotgun shells; now go E to the end of the cave and climb the metal container to pick up the Secret Stash Key. From here you can do a standing swan dive over the fence, climb the ladder and go to the E end to get Golden Bars and the Uzis. Go back to the storage room with the shootable grate [*], break it, go through the crawlspace and right at the junction, shoot the next grate, drop and pull the switch to raise a door somewhere. To get extra pickups shoot the grate opposite the now active fan and inside the crawlspace pick up shotgun shells, the Shotgun and uzi clips. Go back to the previous crawlspace and this time advance W at the junction.
Cave with One Mine Hut
In the next room shoot the worker, pick up the shotgun shells on the small shelves and open the W doors; explore the next area to get uzi clips, shotgun shells and .44 ammo. Optional: open the NW door with the secret key, advance and in the “hub” room shoot a snake, open the W door with the crowbar and pull the switch to change the position of a door in the N passage, go there, pull another switch to open a nearby door, go back to the first switch and re-use it to change the position of the door again, go back to the N passage and pull a third switch to open the S door in the hub room, go there, pick up Golden Bars, shoot a mercenary and go back to the room with the mine hut.
Second Secret Key
Anyway drop into the hole in the N side of the cave, run down the duct and for an extra pickup take a running jump with grab and a hard curve to your right to grab the edge of the high crate in the SE corner, shoot the box and pick up a small medipack; drop down and climb the crate in the NE corner with the scrap fabric and exit E. In the next room shoot the mercenary coming from the passage you came from (dangerous guy, shooting grenades), pick up his uzi clips, crawl under the shelves to get .44 ammo and open the small door in the N wall; explore this nursing to find a Note, another Secret Stash Key, 2 X uzi clips, medicinal herbs and a large medipack; exit, climb down the ladder to the bottom of the pit and jump into the water hole.
The White key Card
Pick up the .44 ammo and swim through the N passage, at the end of the path you’ll surface in a cave with two openings: E and N. Go N first and in the cave with the deep pit take a running jump to land onto the rocky ledge at the bottom of the ladder, climb up, advance a bit, pick up the flares from the top of the mine cart to your right and in the final room pick up the uzi clips, the scrap fabric and pull the wheel switch to dry rooms in the previous areas. Go back to the room with two openings, drop down and continue to the room with the wooden crates you saw in the cut scene; shoot a worker, go through the E opening and in the room with the icicles take the right passage (S), right again push the movable crate twice, go left, pull a second movable crate once, go back to the room with the icicles, climb the N crate, jump higher where the mine cart is, advance, pull the switch and you are back in the room with the deep pit; go back up to the room with the wheel-switch and re-use it to flood the rooms, go back to the room with the icicles using the shortcut, jump into the water, swim through the S passage and pull the underwater lever at the very end to open a nearby door, pick up the .44 ammo and swim there to surface in a room where you can get the White Key Card.
Extra Pickups
Swim back to the room with the icicles and… Optional: swim through the W passage and left, look for a small crawlspace, advance and soon you’ll find an air hole in the ceiling to take a breath. Swim S and take the first left to find a Note in a room with another air hole; swim back to the corridor, left and left again to pull an underwater lever; go back for air if you need it and swim through the W passage with the open door, go left at the junction to finally find Golden Bars, a door opens to your right so continue swimming, go right to pick up .44 ammo, roll, go right, pick up shotgun shells in the corner and swim back to the air hole. Go back to the room with the icicles, surface, climb the floating crate and return to the cave with the deep pit; from here, climb the W ladder and advance to the room with two openings.
The Circuit Breaker Plug
This time jump to the N opening; in the next room shoot a mercenary and use the card to open the N door, check the PC to open the SW door, go there and in the next room pull the switch to activate the conveyor belt; after the cut scene go back to the room with the conveyor belt and drop into the hole to get the Circuit Breaker Plug. Exit, jump into the water, swim back to the room with the nursing, climb up the ladder, shoot the mercenaries, pick up 2 X .44 ammo they dropped, exit W to the room with the poisonous pit, climb up the crate in the NE corner, take a sprint running jump to grab the edge of the scaffolding in the W wall, take a running jump to the opening in the S wall and run up through the duct to the room with the mine hut.
More Extra Pickups
Optional: climb the roof of the hut and if you got the secret key in the nursing, take a running jump to grab the N ledge with the tracks, advance, pick up the shotgun shells, use the secret key to open the door, continue E, shoot a mercenary at the junction, go to the end of the path, shoot another mercenary, pick up his uzi clips, shoot the box to get flares and .44 ammo, back in the pool room take a standing jump to grab the wooden ledge attached to the S wall to get uzi clips, drop into the water to get .44 ammo, climb the floating crate, jump to the N opening, pull the switch to open the door at your back, advance, climb up the ladder, monkeyswing/climb/pull up and jump back onto a safe ledge, grab the strip, jump up, pull up, pull the switch, drop/grab/drop/grab the edge of the opening below, advance and explore all this mine galleries shooting the woods blocking the way to get a Note, shotgun shells, .44 ammo, Golden Bars, a large medipack and uzi clips. Go all the way back to the cave with the mine hut.
Using the Plug
Pull the switch to open the S door and exit to find yourself back in the first areas of this level (go right). In the cave with two mine huts climb the roof of the S one and drop through the hole; in the room with the PC drop from the bridge onto the floor below, press the button to open the E door and in the next room press the button in the corner to lower the trapdoor above the ladder, climb up, press another button to open the exit door, shoot the box to get uzi clips and a small medipack, go down, shoot the worker and shoot the security seal to get access to the room with the receptacle for the plug you got time ago; use it to take off the electricity in the boxes, shoot them to discover that one box has got the Wires, pry them, go back to the cave with two mine huts the way you came, enter the lift room, place the wires to raise the cover on the button and press it to open the nearby door; press the button at the end of the corridor and press a last button in the final room to finish the level.
LEVEL 3 – LOST CITY OF IRAM
Tasks with the Torch
Pick up flares, .44 ammo and shotgun shells; exit, go left, climb the crate and take a swan dive over the fence; pick up the flares and the uzi clips next to the campfire and exit through the W opening. Drop down into the pit and go S, shoot the poisonous spiders and pull the switch, continue E, shoot the snake and soon you’ll arrive in a big cave area (pick up a Torch in a corner before entering). Drop down (beware of the hole in the floor below), shoot the mercenary, pick up the .44 ammo he dropped, approach to the S campfire, pick up the flares, select the torch in the inventory and light it in the bonfire. Now climb the nearby block, go up and light the wall torch near the E opening; to get extra pickups you can drop down in the NE corner to get a Golden Rose, a scrap fabric and uzi clips, but you’ll need to go back to the campfire to light the torch. Anyway from the high E opening take a sprint running jump W to the opening you used to enter here, continue always right when possible until you find the wall switch you used time ago and light a second nearby wall torch here; advance N to a cave where you can light a third wall torch, high up in the N wall; now go back to the cave where you lightened the first wall torch and go through the high E opening to light a fourth wall torch near the corner; finally, at the end of this passage there’s a hole in the floor, drop down and go E to find the last wall torch to light: a door opens in the cave where you lightened the first wall torch so go back there picking up uzi clips on the wooden crate on your way back and enter the room to get a Secret Star.
Lava Room
Now go back to the corridor where you lightened the last wall torch, go right and use the “Ctrl” key to destroy the broken wall, go right to pick up a scrap fabric, drop through the hole and continue until big double gates open in front of you. Go to your left (W wall) and break the box to get another scrap fabric, pull the nearby switch to raise gates in the first floor, jump into the pool to find a Note and shoot the basket in the SE corner to get medicinal herbs. Now go through the N opening with the open doors, drop down, advance and double doors will open; in this room drop down onto the lower floor and pull the switch to open the door in the SE corner, in the next area shoot the bat, approach to the edge of the W ledge, drop/grab and drop onto a safe block below in the lava; now advance E stepping/jumping only onto the brown tiles and pick up the Ornate Bronze Key in the corner.
Carefully go back W and from the safe block take a standing jump to grab the strip in the N wall, shimmy left to the corner, take a backflip with twist to grab the pole and swing to the niche in the opposite corner; pick up the uzi clips, take an angled standing jump to grab the strip in the pillar, jump up to grab the edge of the ledge, pull up, take a standing jump to grab the strip in the N wall, shimmy right, jump to grab the upper strip, shimmy right and finally jump back onto a small ledge with a keyhole. Use the key to open a door in the W wall, shoot the bats, take a running jump to land onto the W ledge with the open door and another running jump E to grab the ledge near the entrance. Light the torch here (there is another torch under a nearby vases in a corner), take a sprint running jump W and light the pot in the niche; now jump back to the central ledge timing the fire emitters, grab the strip in the S wall, shimmy left timing the fire emitter, jump back with twist to grab the pole, swing to grab the strip in the N wall, drop/grab the strip below and shimmy right timing the fire emitter. In this room pick up the Crossbow with explosive arrows and shoot the pot in the niche to light it and trigger some events; exit, grab the strip, shimmy left timing the fire emitter, jump up to grab the upper strip, shimmy left, jump back onto the hanging platform and safely drop onto the entrance ledge.
E Wing
Go back to the room with the grated floor, take the E passage and run/jump to the very end to shoot another pot with explosive arrows, pick up the explosive arrows in the corner and go back to the previous room timing the fire emitters (when on the central ledge, better take the sprint running jump from a side). Optional to get more pickups: jump to grab the strip in the N wall, don’t shimmy left but jump back with twist to grab a pole, swing to grab a second one, use the “Jump” key to climb it, jump to grab the strip in the wall, shimmy right, jump back with twist to grab another pole, swing to grab the next one and finally reach a high ledge with medicinal herbs, shoot the bats and run off the edge from the corner. In the nearby passage note that there is an opening without fire emitter, enter to get uzi clips.
W Wing
Pick up medicinal herbs, use the poles timing the fire emitters to reach the far ledges, and finally shoot another pot to lower blocks at the other side of the room. Pick up explosive arrows and jump back to the top of the pillars, from the second one run off the edge to land onto a platform, shoot the vases in the niche to your right to get more explosive arrows and medicinal herbs, shoot the E pot with explosive arrows and use the poles to go back up to the top of the rhomboidal pillars, climb one of the hanging platforms and climb the high ledge with the Ace of Wands. A door raises, advance, pick up a Note and you are back at the top of the room with the grated floor.
Library Area
Enter the E room and pull the switch to open the N door in the previous room, shoot the lions and the skeletons, shoot the vase in the SW corner to get medicinal herbs and go through the W corridor. In this room pick up more medicinal herbs, the Hideout Key on the small table, climb the sloped block in the NE corner and explore this corridor to find crossbow arrows and a Note. Back in the main room, from the sloped block near the entrance take an angled standing jump to grab the pole, turn around (down arrow), climb the pole, jump to the next one, turn around, climb this pole too, jump to grab the higher one, swing to grab the slope and shimmy left around the corner to a safe ledge. Use the key to raise the bars, enter the library and in front of the S bookcases pick up a Note and the Sun Emblem, in the E room there are crossbow arrows and in the W room a switch to pull; it opens a door near the keyhole so go there. Enter and in the first room there is a breakable tile in the corner to your right, walk over it and drop to get the second Secret Star, pull another switch at the end of the passage to lower poles in the main room; go out of this passage.
Optional to get extra pickups: break the piece of wall in front of the exit and enter; to your right there are crossbow arrows, explosive arrows and a small medipack, continue until you find a hole in the floor, drop down to find another hole, jump over it to press a button in a niche, now drop down and shoot the vases in the corner to get medicinal herbs, pull the switch to open the exit door but go through the E opening first, kick the breakable wall and pick up a Note and a Golden Rose. Go back the way you came to the area with the keyhole.
Go right and use the poles to reach the high N ledge, press the button to open the gates below. Drop down, enter, pick up the Note in front of the gazebo, shoot some bats and take a sprint running jump onto the hanging pot in the NW corner, shoot the vase to get a Secret Star. Jump back to the bridge and let’s explore the east, north and west passages.
East Passage - The Ace of Swords
The gates open as you approach, climb up the ladder, jump back, grab the lower strip, jump up to grab the higher one and jump back with twist to grab an upper ledge; in this room you can find a Secret Star in the SW corner; pull the floor lever to open the next gates (and close the entrance ones) getting access to a room with spiked pillars and steam emitters. Start by taking a running jump to the top of the pillar without spikes (to your right), from here another running jump (no grab) to the top of the pillar attached to the wall, another running jump E to the lower pillar with the trigger tile, from here a series of running jumps to reach another trigger tile near the N wall and a final jump onto the last trigger tile on the pillar near the corner; now you need to take a sprint running jump to grab the strip attached to the S black arch over the gates, jump up to the top, grab the monkeyswing and cross to the other side of the room to press a button.
Now take a running jump to grab the E ladder, climb up and grab the strip in the next pillar, jump up to grab the upper one, shimmy right around the corner, jump back with twist to grab the strip in the S wall, shimmy right to the corner, jump back with twist to grab the first pole, time the steam emitter and swing to the second pole, quickly swing to grab the next strip, shimmy right timing the next steam emitter, jump to grab the upper strip, shimmy to the very left and finally take a backflip with twist and a right curve to grab the top of the central pillar. Jump to the W opening, step onto the trigger tile to open gates somewhere and shoot the skeletons; make your way to go back down to the room with the pillars with the retracted spikes (easy, a ledge came out from the wall under the opening).
The E gates are now open, enter the room, jump onto the central platform and in the north and south rooms your goal is to reach the far walls with the wall switches jumping onto the top of the pillars, but there’s a problem: the wind will push you to your death in certain parts, so try to take running jumps to the left or right sides of the pillars you want to reach so the currents take you to the tops. Once you pull the switches, the currents disappear so it’ll be easy to go back. I think taking sprint running jumps the tasks will be easier. Once both switches are pulled, the E bars in the central room are raised and you can pick up the Ace of Swords. Go all the way back to the main room with the gazebo and the bridges.
North Passage - The Ace of Pentacles
The gates open as you approach, enter and locate a breakable tile in the SW corner, walk over it and drop to get a Golden Skull; go back up using the strip. Now climb the central block and take a standing jump to grab the N strip, jump up, pull up and go right; use the poles to swing to the S side of the room, grab the strip at the end, shimmy right and drop down; press the button to open the gates in the N side of the room and make your way to go there. Shoot the snake, advance, climb down the ladder and drop to the very bottom, look for a scrap fabric to pick up and pull the floor lever to open a door somewhere; go back up to the entrance to find that opening. In this room shoot the lions and climb the block in the right side using the strip, jump to the ledge over the entrance, press the button, jump onto the N ledge with the closed door, take a running jump to grab the E crack and shimmy right timing the moving blade, jump up to grab the strip above, shimmy right timing another moving blade and from the corner take a jump back with twist to grab the hanging flower pot, jump onto the next ledge, continue through the corridor and shoot the lions and the skeletons. In the next room shoot the vases in the corner to get medicinal herbs, pull the floor lever and go all the way back to the sandy room where you got the last golden skull.
Optional to get more pickups: in the corridor where you shot the lions and the skeletons, look for a wall switch in the SE corner next to the furniture, pull it, go back to the room with the moving blades and the door in the N wall will open; jump there and in the next room step onto a circular trigger tile near the corner to raise bars somewhere. Back into the room with the moving blades note that the spikes in the trench are retracted, and you can get access to a crawlspace leading to a new room. Here jump into the pool and climb the E ledge, shoot the vase to get medicinal herbs, pull the timed switch and quickly use the poles to grab the strip, shimmy left around the corner, pull up and enter the niche to get a Golden Rose. Exit this room, exit the room with the movable blades and go right.
Shoot the croc and go into the room where it came from, advance N, go through the right opening and soon you’ll find a room with a central platform and movable ledges. The tiles with the circles are trigger tiles, and they extend certain ledges in the central platform, but only for a brief time; you’ll need to take sprint running jumps to reach the ledges in the E, W and N walls. Start by stepping onto the trigger tile in the entrance, jump to the central platform and quickly jump to grab the ledge in the E wall; now repeat the same maneuver (step only onto the left trigger tile) to reach the ledge in the N wall; again, do the same (again step only onto the left trigger tile) to reach the ledge in the W wall and here step onto the trigger tile in the right side to open the door in the N ledge. Drop down, climb the ledge near the entrance and repeat the same movements to reach the N ledge, enter, cross the bridge and pick up the Ace of Pentacles. Go all the way back to the main room with the gazebo and the bridges.
West Passage - The Ace of Cups
It seems to be a dead end, but there’s a crawlspace hidden behind the plants in the right side; go through and at the end of the crawlspace shoot the vase to get medicinal herbs and a scrap fabric, continue, shoot the small spiders if you want and go through the crawlspace in the S wall. In the next room shoot the skeletons, pick up the Golden Skull in the SE pool, pull the floor lever to raise the W bars, go there, drop through the hole into the pool below and enter the W room; step onto the tile with the circle and continue W, shoot the croc, advance through shallow waters and in the next room pull the floor lever, go back to the previous room to find an open door in the corner, run up the ramp, shoot a lion and find a place with four wall switches.
I don't know if this is the more efficient way to solve this puzzle, but this is what I did:
1.- Pull only the left switch in the E wall, take a running jump onto the raised block and a sprint running jump to the niche in the E wall, press the button and jump back to the ledge with the switches.
2.- Now pull the left switch in the W wall, jump again to the nearest block and turn left to take a running jump to the left niche in the W wall, press the button.
3.- Now re-use the left switch in the E wall and pull the right switch in the W wall (E wall: UP-UP; W wall: DOWN-DOWN), take single running jumps to reach the far niche in the W wall, press the last button and jump back to the ledge with the switches.
4.- Finally re-use the right switch in the W wall and the left switch in the E wall so you can see three raised blocks in the pool, use the blocks to cross to the N side and pull the floor lever to open a door at the bottom of the pit with the pool. Go there and pull the switch to raise the level of the water in the pool.
Swim outside and climb the S opening, roll and take a sprint running jump to grab the N opening, cross the corridor timing the smashing walls, grab the strip in the corner, jump up to grab the upper strip and take a backflip with twist to grab the high ledge at your back. Pull up and go right, pull the floor lever to raise a small platform in the S room where you got out of the water, go there, pull the movable block once to flood the room, exit through the opening in the ceiling, time the spikes in either opening, time the next spikes, pull the underwater lever and swim back through either opening and up to surface; pull the switch to open a door somewhere. Jump into the water, swim down to the bottom of the pool, go through the W opening and swim up through the hole in the ceiling; surface in a room with a giant scorpion, shoot it and pull the switch to open a door in the main pool. Swim back there, climb the W opening, pull the switch, swim back to the main pool, climb the W opening and enter to get the Ace of Cups. Go E to the main room, go through the crawlspace in the N wall and back to the main room with the gazebo and the bridges.
Extra Items
Exit this room S and from the room with the gazebo continue S all the way to the first big area of this level with the square pool in the middle of the room. Optional to get collectibles/pickups/secrets: pull the switch in the E wall to open the door to your right, enter, jump into the pit, climb the S ledge, break the box to get medicinal herbs, approach to the opening, jump to grab the strip in the S wall, shimmy right, jump up to grab the upper strip, take a backflip with roll to grab the high ledge at your back, pull up and go right to the corner, pick up the last Note, go W, jump onto the lower ledge and to the exit opening. Now climb (or take a running jump to...) the pentagonal opening in the E side of the pool, press the button, shoot the croc and go to the back of the room to pick up a Note; back to the pool take the right opening in the N wall, advance, shoot another croc, run up the ramp and pull the switch to find yourself back in the main room. Exit, shoot the lions, go again to the corridor where they came from but this time turn right under the pentagonal opening, break the wall, drop down and push the ball into the pool below; jump into the pool, shoot the snakes and explore a lower area to find medicinal herbs, swim through the S opening, pull the underwater lever, shoot another snake, swim through the opening in front of the ball to get a scrap fabric and through the opening above this one, time the teeth doors, pick up the last Secret Star, swim back up and surface. Shoot the snake if you want and take the W opening this time, pick up the small medipack and place the secret stars to finally get the Alchemical Relic. Go all the way back up to the pool room as you did before.
Placing the Artifacts
Pull the switch in the W wall if you didn't do it before and climb the sloped block in the NE corner to reach the upper ledges, place the artifacts in the receptacles you can find in the N, S, E and W alcoves and watch the final cutscene with Pierre and Larson to finish this long and complex level.
LEVEL 4 – SUNKEN RUINS
Starting Area
Swim down and explore the very bottom of this underwater area to find the first Secret Star on a part of the broken bridge near the W wall. To get an extra pickup swim to an opening in the NW corner, break the brick wall, swim up and advance always right when possible to finally find the Mysterious Healing Herb on a mini-table; a nearby door opens so you can exit and swim up to take a breath. Now dive to find a couple of underwater levers in the E wall (balcony with balustrades), pull them to open two doors E and W.
The Sanctuary Area
It's high up near the ceiling of the cave (W wall); advance to find a room with two big statues, climb the ledge over the entrance and shoot the vase to get a scrap fabric, there are shotgun shells on the ledge in the SE corner too; jump into the water and look for an underwater lever to pull in the W wall, pick up the nearby medicinal herbs, climb the S ledge with the balustrade, shoot the bats, take a running jump to the central ledge with the big statue (left side), jump onto the next one and finally onto the ledge with the wall switch; pull it and go to the ledge in the SW corner, climb up the ladder, shimmy left, shoot the vases to get crossbow arrows, drop/grab the strip, shimmy left, pull up, ignore the S opening, continue to the corner, jump onto the first flower pot, take a running jump to grab the second one and take a last running jump to grab the ledge with the door you opened with the switch moments ago; shoot a bat, enter, shoot the spiders and pull the switch to raise a gate somewhere. Go back to the S ledge the way you came (hanging flowerpots), this time climb the S opening, shoot the bats, jump to the W opening, shoot more bats and pick up the Lost Sanctuary Key.
To get extra pickups drop into the pit, go though the S crawlspace, in the campfire shoot the mercenaries, pick up 2 X uzi clips they drop, check the wooden boxes to get flares, the Magnums and .44 ammo, go E and right up the ramp to trigger a rolling rock, avoid it and go to the top of the ramp to get Golden Coins and 3 X shotgun shells. Go back to the campfire, through the N crawlspace and right, press the button to raise the bars, shoot the worker, pick up the Uzis he drops and climb the crawlspace to return to the main room. Jump into the water and swim through the low opening in the N wall to get the second Secret Star. Exit, climb the ledge over the underwater lever, shoot the bat and use the key to open the door; advance, shoot the lions and the skeleton in the next room, pull the floor lever in the corner and enter the sanctuary; step onto the trigger tile to open a door in the starting area and note that you need three keys before you get back here (much later, near the end of the level). Exit and go all the way E to the starting area.
The First Ornate Gold Piece
Swim through the opening in the S wall with the circle sign above and surface in a room with an octagonal pool. Go to the N room and pull the switch, break the box to get medicinal herbs and pick up the Note on the pedestal; back in the pool room take the E passage, pick up the crossbow arrows in the NE corner and in the next room shoot the skeletons and the lions, pick up the crossbow arrows in the NW corner, advance to the next room, break the box to get a crafted small medipack, climb the block (use the strip), pull the timed switch, roll, take a running jump to the W ledge, step onto the circle to raise the bars, go left or right and jump onto the timed platforms, timing the moving blades to reach the W safe ledge before they retract; finally take a sprint running jump W or use the lateral ledges to reach the ledge with the first Ornate Gold Piece.
The Second Ornate Gold Piece
Drop down and exit W to the room with the octagonal pool and advance to the W room; shoot the lions and go through the N passage, shoot the vases in the niches to get crossbow explosive ammo; save your game and pull the timed switch, go all the way S to find the open door, enter; to get an extra pickup select the torch in your inventory and light it in one of the wall torch-horns left or right near the entrance; continue through the passage with the breakable tiles (jump over the first one) and when you reach the room with the Sun Key go right first to light the horn and open a door somewhere, then pick up the key and go back to the hub room timing the teeth doors on your way back. If you lightened the horn go N towards the switch and look for an opening to your left to get the Mysterious Coal.
Back in the hub room climb either ladder in the E wall; to get an extra pickup look up to the monkeyswing and locate the position of the strip, grab the monkeyswing advance a bit and climb higher to the top of the bridge using the strip to get Golden Coins and a scrap fabric. Anyway use the key from the ledge at the top of the ladders to open a door in the W side of the room, swing there, shoot the croc and pick up a second Ornate Gold Piece. If you go through the crawlspace there are crossbow arrows to pick up. Back in the hub room go E to the room with the octagonal pool and use the pieces to open the S door and get the Creation Key; exit, jump into the pool and swim N to the starting area.
Secret Items
Locate the open door just straight ahead under the rhombus sign, enter and break the brick walls left and right form the entrance to find the third Secret Star and pull an underwater lever to open a door somewhere [**], swim N to take a breath and if you want you can take a detour to get extra pickups: swim to the bottom of the starting room and through the low opening in the E wall to find the door you opened moments ago with the underwater lever [**], enter and look for an air hole in the ceiling, get out of the water, shoot the vases to get crossbow arrows and a Secret Offering, break the box to get a crafted small medipack and pull the switch to open doors in the starting room; swim back there and locate those doors high up in the NW corner; the opening in the right side leads you to an underwater lever to raise bars in the cave you came from (ignore the opposite opening [***] for now), and the opening in the left side leads you to a small maze you can explore to find a Mysterious Sack (you can take a breath here) and the fourth Secret Star. Swim back to the starting area and again through the opening at the bottom in the E wall, continue swimming E until you find a place where you can surface and get the last Secret Star.
Now swim back to the room where you pulled the last underwater lever [***] and this tame take the opposite opening, swim left to a room with an air hole in the ceiling and look for an underwater lever in the S side of a broken pillar hanging from the ceiling, this lever retracts a trapdoor in a hole in the floor of this room, swim there and continue swimming W until you reach a room where you can get some air; from here swim through the S opening to get a Mysterious Bowl, now swim through the N opening, break the brick wall in the corner and in the final room pull the underwater lever to open doors at your back, roll swim S to the very end, pick up a scrap fabric and get out of the water to find a room with the receptacles for the secret stars, open the door, continue and in the next room pull the switch to open a last door and check the sarcophagus to get the Alchemical Relic. Swim back to the starting area, through the opening under the rhombus sign and get out of the water.
Three Symbols Puzzle
Go through the crawlspace, shoot the mercenaries, pick up the .44 ammo and uzi clips they drop, break the box in the corner to get uzi clips and a large medipack, check the boxes in the other corner to get flares and shotgun shells, enter the E room and explore the opening behind the furniture to pick up a Golden Skull. In the next room note the closed doors [****] and shoot a vase to get medicinal herbs, continue N, go right, take note of the symbols (circle, square, triangle) in the corners and use the strip to climb the E platform, advance E down the stairs, shoot a croc and the vases to get a Note, crossbow explosive ammo and a scrap fabric; further on you’ll find three cubes with symbols, so you know what to do: rotate the cubes until you get the combination (from left to right) circle – square – triangle: a nearby gate opens and you can pull the wall switch to extend small ledges in the previous room, so quickly sprint there, use them to cross to the W side of the room timing the rotating blades and run up the wide stairs before the door closes.
The Healing Key
In this “hub” room pick up the Small Amphora (waterskin) and go to the S room, pick up the crossbow arrows and press the button to open a door in the main room, go back there and move the lion-vase onto the patterned tile to raise bars in the hub room, go back there (now the small ledges are extended, but some moving blocks can push you out of them) and press another button to open a door somewhere [****]; go back to the main room (blocks have raised here so you don’t need to use the small ledges anymore) and back to the S room to find the open door. Climb down the ladder, jump onto one of the blocks in the pool to fill the waterskin (amphora), go N to shoot a croc and press another button, pick up crossbow explosive arrows and a large medipack in the crocodile lair and go back up to the main room with the movable piece; move it onto the next patterned tile to open doors in the room where you came from, go there, shoot the skeleton in one of the rooms, and place water in both basins (you’ll need to go down to the pool one more time to fill the waterskin again) to raise the remaining bars in the hub room; go back there using the raised blocks this time to finally get the Healing Key and crossbow arrows. Another door opens in the starting room, so go all the way back there the way you came and locate the opening under the triangle sign (W wall, at the bottom).
The First Unusual Gemstone
Swim straight ahead until you can surface, pick up the Note next to the skeleton and continue W, jump into the water hole and swim S; in the room above the pyramid you can only go S or N (closed doors in the E and W openings). Go S first and in this room it seems that you need a fire to light your torch, but there’s a jumpswitch near the entrance to open a gate somewhere; go back to the previous room, shoot the snake and go through the N opening now. Go left, shoot the skeleton, there is a crafted small medipack on one of the corners of the domed building, climb the N ladder, grab the monkeyswing, go all around the room clockwise and climb the next ladder; go to the W cave and pick up the Note from the small table to open the S door, drop down, break the box to get flares, approach to the edge of the pit, climb down the ladder to the bottom, grab the strip in the S wall, jump up to grab the crack, shimmy right, pull up and pull the switch to extend poles at the top of the room; climb back up to the previous room, use the poles to cross to the E side of the room, pick up the Unusual Gemstone and follow the passage to a room with a cube in its center.
Two More Unusual Gemstones
Pick up medicinal herbs in a corner, exit S and place the gemstone to lower a pole, use it to climb one of the blocks in the corners, take a sprint running jump N to grab the strip, shimmy left or right and go through a crawlspace. In this room use the crank (facing N) to open doors in the room where the cube was, go back there (another door opens in the room where you pulled the jumpswitch) and exit N and through a crawlspace to get back to the main pyramid room. Again go through the S opening to find the open doors E and W.
West Opening: Jump to grab the first pole and time the teeth doors to swing to the second one, time again the next spears and when you grab the third pole, climb it and take a standing jump to grab the strip, jump up to reach the upper ledge, roll and take a running jump E to get another Unusual Gemstone. Go back to the previous room the way you came timing the spears again.
East Opening: Approach to the moving blade, shoot the bats and time the blade to cross (roll), climb down one of the ladders, continue through the E passage, press the button, time the now active blades and drop down to get an Unusual Gemstone. Go back up to the previous room.
Rotating Mirrors Puzzle
Back into the main room go N to the room with the domed building, climb it from the right side (next to the corner), turn around, take a standing jump to grab the edge of the crawlspace and go back to the room where the cube was. This time go left and right to place the gems: doors open in the main room; go back there, use the cranks in the E and W rooms the necessary times so the mirrors are in a diagonal position and reflect the light coming from the circular object in the wall to the vertex of the pyramid (one time the W mirror and three times the E mirror). Jump into the pool, pick up the Destruction Key and swim back to the starting room the way you came.
Back to the Sanctuary
Now that you have the three keys it’s time to revisit the sanctuary. Do you remember? (Read “The Sanctuary Area” near the start of this level). So swim W and through the passage with the open door near the ceiling, all the way W back to the sanctuary courtyard. Before entering, you can approach to the very right side of the pit (facing W, near the columns), take a step or two steps back and take a standing jump with grab to land onto the ledge at the bottom of the ladder (the bottom floor is lethal here), jump S onto the next safe ledges and shoot the vases in the corner to get a Golden Skull; go back to the ledge with the ladder to go up. Anyway enter the sanctuary and use the three keys: a circular door opens in the starting area.
A Last Relic
But if you collected all the mysterious artifacts in this level, you still can collect one more. In this sanctuary courtyard there are two big openings N and S; in the S one there is an inscribed tablet, approach to it and use “action” so Lara reads the inscriptions and the nearby door opens; go up the ramp to the high ledges of this courtyard and enter the S passage, step onto the central trigger tile to open three doors and visit the rooms to place the Secret Offerings (the single bag – combine the mysterious bowl with the mysterious healing herb – combine the mysterious sack with the mysterious coal): a door opens in the N side, go there, enter, shoot the giant centaurs, press the button in the N alcove and two doors will open outside; go out and down the nearby ramp, check the sarcophagus at the end of the path to get a second Alchemical Relic.
Ending
Now go all the way back to the starting area and swim straight ahead through the opening with the open door above the underwater levers, pick up a Note on the mini-table and continue swimming E to trigger the final cutscene of this extraordinary adventure.
