WARNING: As of June 23, 2025, If you download from trle.net you'll experience a fatal crash after completing level 11, so to avoid this fate it's vital that you download version 4 of this release that's available at TRCustoms.org. Of course, this issue may later be fixed by the builder. Thanks to billie2001 for this tip.

 

 

Level 1: LUNDKVIST BASE

 

As the level begins you're immediately attacked by a guard dog. Climb the crates and blocks to the NW corner and push the crate three times to reveal a wall switch that blows up a barrel on the crates outside and creates a short cut to the S end of the compound. Return, shoot another guard dog and make your way along the N wall past the fenced area to the NE part of the compound. Jump over the canal (the icy water will sap your health) and do battle with three soldiers and three dogs. There's another soldier in the fenced enclosure next to the parked vehicles. He can shoot at you but the fence protects him, so run W past him to a squat gray building and open the double doors.

 

Shoot the soldier posted inside and pull down the wall switch to lift one of two floor trap doors in the SW corner. Exit and loop right around the building to the stacked crates. Climb up to the hole in the fence created by the exploded barrel and make your away around to the back side of the squat gray building. Activate the jump switch to open the other floor trap door at the SW corner inside, go all the way around again and enter the building. Drop down the corner hole, crawl quickly underneath the lasers and shoot the soldier in the lower room. Pick up the GATE KEY he dropped and get back outdoors.

 

Run to that fenced enclosure, use the Gate Key to gain entry and shoot the soldier posted inside to get his dropped JEEP KEY. Locate and pull down the nearby wall switch before leaving. The Jeep is parked near the S wall of the compound, so go there, get in and drive past the S gate you opened with the wall switch to complete the level.

 

Level 2: DOCKING

 

There's no rest for the weary, as you begin on foot beside the Jeep and no longer have the keys. You're also facing a host of soldiers and guard dogs, so use of the GUNS cheat would make life much easier at this point. But that's up to you. Otherwise, your best strategy is to retreat to the relative safety of one of the tunnels behind you and take care of the faster dogs first before picking off the soldiers one by one. When all is quiet, search the area for the BLUE KEY dropped  by one of the soldiers and find the receptacle for it in the nearby building.

 

Enter and engage two more soldiers. Pull up into the SE alcove for the CD and place it in the contraption against the W wall. A screen shot describes what you've just done, so exit this building and deal with a trio of soldiers as you make your way to the deep pit at the SW corner. Climb down the ladder and drop into the waiting motorized raft. Drive forward to trigger an FMV with Italian dialogue as Mr. Phelps receives the details of his mission. "Good luck, Jim."

 

Level 3: EMBASSY

 

Begin in the lobby. Turn left and run clockwise around the outer walls until you reach a switch that opens the door to an empty dining room. Go up the red ramp, time your way under the laser and loop around right into the hallway to find a wall switch that gives no indication of what happens when you pull it down. Nevertheless, do so and go back the way you came, staying to your left left inside the embassy until you come to a closed E door that leads to the bathrooms. Open it and enter the ladies' section to your left. The stalls are empty, but in the alcove you'll find the ELEVATOR KEY. (Pulling down the wall switch opened a gate here, and when you return it appears to have been timed.) The mens' section has nothing (shame on you for even looking), so return to the dining room, go up the ramp past the wall switch and use the Elevator Key to open the SE door. Step into the darkness to trigger the next level.

 

Level 4: WAREHOUSE

 

You arrive without weapons other than a RIFLE with no ammo, so quickly run forward, pick up the PISTOLS and deal with the guard who's doing his best to kill you. Pick up his dropped rifle ammo and shoot the all fragile boxes blocking your way if you didn't do so during the gunfight. Enter the passage, turn right and vault up onto the metal slab. Turn around, jump up to grab the opening and pull up for a small medipack. Return, go to the other end of the passage and turn left into a small room for rifle ammo. Continue further W and beware of two guards that are posted on the other side of the obstruction. The obstruction consists of two pushblocks, but you'll be vulnerable to enemy fire if you try to pull them back. Weaken if not kill the guards by jumping up while firing your pistols through the narrow opening.

 

When the coast seems relatively clear, crawl over the obstruction, drop down the other side and take refuge in the NE alcove (where a third guard is posted, who drops a small medipack) so you can clear the area of any remaining enemies. Jump over the green trench and pick up the large medipack and rifle ammo dropped by the first two guards. In the room off to the S is a fourth guard, but you can kill him easily from here as he won't go past the green trench between you and him. Note the closed door in the S passage but for now go W and S to flush out a fifth and final guard. Shoot the SW boxes and go around the corner for rifle ammo. Return to the SE corner where you shot the fourth guard, pick up dropped large medipack and pull down the wall switch to open the nearby door in the E wall.

 

Run up the metal ramp, deal with the waiting guard and shoot the N boxes to reveal another guard. Jump over the green trench and go around the corner to find a pushblock next to a shootable box. Shoot the latter, go around the next corner to take out a guard and pick up the dropped KGB ACCESS KEY. The pushblock is of no use, so continue down the corridor to meet yet another guard and come to a pool filed with icy green water. Jump toward the far end and quickly pull out between what appear to be pushblocks on the other side. You can't move them, however, so pull up E into a crawl space, flip out the other side at the NE corner and use your key to open the adjacent door. Run forward to begin the next part of your mission.

 

Level 5: KGB HEADQUARTERS

 

Run forward and the door closes behind you. You are again without weapons. At the NE corner is a closed door for which you need a key, so turn left and time a run underneath the laser past a door requiring a card key. Pull down the wall switch to open the door beside you and enter a small library. Pull the dead soldier away from the OFFICE CARD and exit to the hallway. Continue W and follow to a storage room with the CROWBAR. Pull down the wall switch and return to the receptacle you passed by earlier. Use the Office Card to open the S door and enter a small office.

 

Loop around right and pull down the wall switch to open one door and close another. Proceed W into the next room, loop around right and pull down another wall switch. Go to the other end of the room, enter the crawl space and crawl around the corner. Climb the blocks and open the crowbar door. Run to the other end of the control room and pull down the wall switch to open a ceiling trap door. Pull up E, open another crowbar door and safety drop into a storage room. Save your game, pull down the timed W wall switch, take a rolling back flip and sprint past the E door across the hallway (may take a few tries).

 

Pull down the wall switch in the office and stand in front of the exit door, which will open automatically. Turn left and follow the hallway back E. Turn left in front of the lasers and find a door that you opened with the wall switch. Go down the ramp and open the crowbar door on the right end. Enter a bedroom area and proceed N to a room with a dead guard and two friendly prisoners. Go to the NW corner and open the disguised crowbar door that leads to a small office with the HALLWAY KEY. Retrace your steps to the upper hallway, take a sharp left and time a run underneath the lasers. Open the E door with the Hallway Key and step forward into your next assignment.

 

Level 6: CORRIDOR

 

You're still without weapons. Run forward to attract the attention of three guards, pull down the wall switch on your left to open the E door and enter the control room to find your PISTOLS and a small medipack. Kill the guards and pick up the RIFLE and large medipack dropped by two of them. Continue to the far end of the corridor to a lava trench and use the square panels to get halfway across, staying far away from the edges to avoid being set aflame as you jump. Stand jump forward to grab the ceiling and monkey swing over to the next batch of square panels. Drop down, shoot a guard in the distance and jump the rest of the way over. 

 

Turn the corner at C! and continue jumping S, shooting another guard along the way, until you reach the end of the square panels. Don't try to jump across to C2, but go to the W wall and mount it by using the action and up arrow keys. Shift left around the corner and drop onto a square panel. Continue as before along the W lava trench toward C3, dispatching another guard as you approach. There's one more section to traverse in a similar manner, leading to C4 and another guard. Use the monkey bars and climbing wall to get there, pull down the wall switch to open the W door and go up the steps to attract the attention of a guard.

 

Loop around left to find the CORRIDOR KEY, ignore the wall switch which serves no useful purpose, exit to C4 and use your key to exit this level.

 

Level 7: SEWER

 

You've retained the rifle, so run forward, turn left and find rifle ammo next to a stove pipe. Go W down the ramp and shoot a waiting guard. Pick up his dropped rifle ammo and turn left to ambush a second guard posted next to a pool of deadly green goo. Before going there, proceed to the end of the hall for a small medipack while noting the closed door to your left. At the green pool, take a running jump from one slab to the next, grab and pull up. Turn right, jump up to grab the bars and monkey swing across the pool. Drop at the end, turn left two times and pick up the large medipack about halfway down the tunnel.

 

Return, continue E to another green pool and quickly monkey swing over the gap as a guard fires at you from ahead. Drop down, kill the guard and go down the ramp to a wall switch that opens a door at the end of the tunnel where you grabbed the large medipack. Return there, go past the opened NE door and deal with another guard. Continue to the other end of the passage, shoot another guard advancing from your left and go left down the steps to an alcove with a wall switch that opens the adjacent door. Enter the next room, shoot two guards and pick up the rifle ammo.

 

Pull down the NW wall switch to open the door at the bottom of the S ramp, go there and engage two more guards. Run across the platform separating two trenches of green goo and approach the wall switch while the door it is apparently supposed to open will open automatically. Enter the small room,.shoot the guard posted there and pull down the wall switch to open the exit door. Climb the E ladder to an upper room you visited earlier, turn right and exit to a familiar passage. Turn right again, follow the passage to a crossing and loop around right to face the ceiling monkey bars.

 

Jump to grab them, monkey swing over the green goo and drop onto the slab you pulled up from earlier. Take a running jump W to grab the ledge extending from the other side, pull up and turn right to run down to a crossing. Turn left to where you picked up the small medipack earlier and find that a door to your left is now open.  Go there, shoot two guards waiting in the next room and pick up the dropped rifle ammo. Pull down the wall switch on the block to open the exit door and go back to the hallway. Turn right, continue up the short ramp, turn left and go through the opened doorway into the darkness to finish the level.

 

Level 8: ALARM

 

We won't be here long. Draw your rifle upon arrival and deal with two guards waiting in the corridor. Go up the ramp, turn right and shoot a third guard for his EMBASSY KEY. Face the E passage, time a run underneath the lasers and open the door with your key. Enter a devastated section of the building and skirt the steaming and burning carpet around to the right and open the SE door to leave this sector.

 

Level 9: CIA INTERROGATION

 

Once again you're weaponless. What's more, you begin in a closed room filled with poisonous gas that's causing your life force to ebb slowly away. You can use a small medipack to take care of that problem if you like. Go over to the cot, stand with your back facing the E wall and stoop to pick up the AUDIO CASSETTE. Go around the cot and place the cassette in the portable stereo to open a ceiling trap door at the opposite SW corner. Get on the block and pull up N into a dark crawl space.  

 

Light a flare as you crawl forward, so you can see and pick up the SLINGSHOT. Continue to an alcove with a receptacle that lacks a crucial fuse. Return to the room with the poisonous gas and use the Slingshot to shatter the panel in the N wall. Vault inside to trigger a screen shot of enemies lurking nearby. Hop over the lasers with your Slingshot at the ready and deal with the guard in the next room. Pick up the dropped PISTOLS and go to the other end of the room for rifle ammo as well as the RIFLE. Vault up onto the SE block for the PORTABLE SCANNER. Hop down, locate the wall switch on the column and pull it down to open the door in the N wall.

 

Enter the next room, wait to see if the guard manages somehow to pass through the screens toward you. Otherwise, pull down the wall switch to open the gate to your left and enter an office area. Shoot the guard for his rifle ammo. Go past the corridor as well as a panel that blocks your view of a wall switch at the NW corner. Pull it down and greet three guards that are making their way toward you down the corridor. Proceed W and loop around the crates to find that missing FUSE you need. Go back to find rifle ammo near the corridor carpet, then shoot the panel at the SW corner to gain entry to a small room with two large medipacks.

 

Go back the way you came (the N corridor leads to a pair of guards), crawl under the lasers and pull up through the SW ceiling hole in the next room. Crawl N to the alcove and place the Fuse with no clue as to what might have happened. Go back N to the office area, turn left into the corridor and follow around the corner N to a new section where you'll meet those two guards mentioned above. Continue along the corridor, deal with a third guard and continue around the corner to reach a closed S door.

 

As you get close it will open automatically, so enter a familiar office area and go past the opened S gate. Turn left to find that the E door is now open. Go to the end of the passage for a TOMB RAIDER 3 disc and turn around to find that the door has closed. Turn left in front of it and follow the passage to the laser room. Loop around right to the office area, turn left into the carpeted corridor and follow around clockwise to find that the NW door is now open. Enter, pick up the rifle ammo and continue around the corner to greet two guards in the distance. Proceed to the office on your left and engage a third guard. Pull down the nearly invisible wall switch at the NW corner and hop back to evade the gunfire from another guard posted in the adjacent E office.

 

Pick up his dropped ELEVATOR KEY and exit this office S. Turn left in the corridor and use the Elevator Key to open the exit door. Enter a data storage room and turn left into the elevator shaft. Pull down the wall switch to finish the level.

 

Level 10: CIA ROOF

 

Turn around to see a FUSE on the nearby ledge. Hop down and follow around the building to find rifle ammo in a nook to your right. A little farther on is a floor trap door which you can ignore if you like, as the card you need is already in your inventory. For maximum kills, open the trap door and drop down to kill a guard. Pick up the dropped SECURITY CARD, pull back out N and continue to the SE corner for more rifle ammo. Look to your left for a receptacle, open the gate and continue along the side of the building past a closed door until you reach another receptacle for the Security Card. Open the gate, go around the corner and open a third gate.

 

Don't go any further for now. Turn around, go past the second gate and see the receptacle for your Fuse just ahead. Place it to open the nearby door you passed by earlier and enter a small office. Push the floor lever for a static cut scene and go back around clockwise past the fist gate until you come to a raised block that allows you to pull up inside the building. Run forward to push the floor lever, reverse roll and run clockwise around this upper area until you reach a gate that you can shatter with your pistols.

 

Enter the next area and see a ladder to your right. Climb up to an inner room and shoot the posted guard. Pull the crate one time so you can use it to access the NE crawl space for 2 x rifle ammo and a large medipack. Exit this room, climb down the ladder and continue clockwise around this upper level until you encounter another guard. Open the S door and  enter to find a floor lever that opens a gate to a second floor lever. Note the dummy fuse box and push the second lever to be transported elsewhere.

 

Step out and quickly loop around left as a sentry gun opens fire. Pull up S to push a floor lever and quickly hop down before the alerted guard on the other side of the interior fence reaches you. Run clockwise around the outer perimeter until you reach another floor lever. Push it to create a small explosion and go back around the way you came. When you reach the first floor lever, pull up higher onto a block and vault up onto the roof. Push the floor lever next to the waiting helicopter to finish the level.

 

Level 11: WAGON

 

Step forward, pick up the large medipack and rifle ammo, ready the rifle and open the door to greet three guards waiting in the aisle. Pick up the rifle ammo dropped by one of them and proceed past the empty seats to open another door. Shoot the guard, pick up his dropped large medipack and continue along the cabin area of this extraordinarily long train (which looks more like the cabin of an airplane). Open the next door, shoot the guard posted around the corner and open the next door to greet yet another guard. Continue to find a guard who can shoot through walls, open the next door to encounter two more guards and greet the sole passenger on this flight.

 

Open the next door, shoot two more guards and go through the dining area to find a closed door you can't open. Go back to the lady in the red dress, loop around left and shoot the panel to reveal the TRAIN KEY. Return to the closed door, open it with the Train Key and enter a storage room. Run forward to a ceiling hole, jump up to grab the opening and pull up to finish the level.

 

Level 12: TETTO DEL TRANO

 

You're on top of the train, which shakes as if it's moving despite all other evidence to the contrary. Shoot the guard, pick up his rifle ammo and stay behind the block ahead to avoid taking damage from the gunfire of two more guards posted further ahead. Beef up your health if necessary, run around to the other side of the block and pull down the wall switch to open the gate separating you from those two guards. Kill them and pick up the rifle ammo dropped by one of them.

 

Continue E, jump over the block either on the right or the left, shoot another guard and pick up his rifle ammo. Pull down the wall switch to open a trap door on the other side of the two blocks, jump over one of them and drop down into the hole to find a wall switch that opens the E door and releases two more guards. One of them drops the CHAVE DEL TRENO which you can place in the receptacle in the N wall. The next E door opens to release three more guards, one of whom drops rifle ammo. Continue E between two blocks toward a phantom round door (with nothing beyond it). Stop next to the helicopter, turn right and take a running jump as if to grab its top. You'll pass right through it and trigger what's apparently meant to be an FMV, but all you get is the sound of someone speaking in Italian after which the level changes.

 

Level 13: REVENGE DOCKING

 

Step forward, hop into the motorized raft and dismount onto the ice ramp. Shoot the nearby soldier, go up to the ramp to target a second guard and go back to pick up the RIFLE and the large medipack dropped by the first soldier. Run toward the top of the ramp, pull up right onto a ledge and engage another soldier and a guard dog. Pick up the dropped GARAGE CARD, search the nearby area for rifle ammo and the JEEP KEY and proceed a bit NE to engage another guard and two dogs. Head N along the wall and don't venture too far E lest you draw the attention of a sentry gun.

 

Another guard and sentry gun await near the N garage. Turn right and brave the withering sentry gun fire as you place the Garage Card in the E slot to open the door to your right. Dash into the small garage, restore your health and get into the Jeep. Drive outside, turn right and drive past the sentry gun into the left N opening to finish the level.

 

Level 14: TUNNEL

 

Shoot the waiting soldier and two rats. Pick up the dropped large medipack, ignore the vehicles and run forward to the pushblock. Push it two times W, get up on it and push the higher block two times to reveal a passage with a large medipack and a wall switch to avoid (if you pull it down a large boulder will drop down and crush you). Exit and move the pushblock over to the E wall. Get up on it, push it two times to reveal an alcove with a large medipack and a safe wall switch that blasts an opening in the fence outside.

 

Get back down, go through the opening and pull up onto the crates to your right. Face E and jump up to grab the upper ledge. Pull up, turn left and engage two waiting soldiers. Pick up the dropped 2 x rifle ammo together with 8 sticks of dynamite (here called MINA). Place one of them in the NE receptacle to open the door to your left.

 

Go on through, shoot two soldiers and use another Mina to open the next gate. There's a sentry gun along with two soldiers in the next room, so sprint past the sentry gun without bothering to stop for the dropped rifle ammo. Use a Mina to open the next door while taking unavoidable gunfire and engage three soldiers in the next room. Go past the crates to find a Mina slot (leaving you with four that you no longer need). Turn left and climb down the ladder wall to the floor, and save your game if you'd like to see what happens when you try to climb the W wall. Otherwise, go past the opened N gate and run forward into the next room to finish the level.

 

Level 15:  VENDETTA BASE LUNDKVIST

 

You're in the large military compound that you visited earlier. There are two soldiers and two dogs in the immediate area, so kill them and pick up the dropped rifle ammo and large medipack. Run S along the E wall past a guard post and grab a small medipack. Continue along the perimeter of the compound to meet two more dogs, then head across the interior toward the W side to engage two dogs and a soldier

 

Climb the NW crates and go through the gap in the fence. Climb the blocks on the other side and hop down N onto a lower block to engage three soldiers who prove to be easy targets. Hop down into the passage to attract two dogs and then pull down the E wall switch to blast a hole around the corner and summon another soldier. Continue along the passage, greet another soldier and go to the structure with the pink wall to find the GATE KEY.

 

Return to the SW entry blocks and climb back over S to the other side of the fence. Jump over the canal, climb the crates and go through the gap in the fence to reach the large compound. Run a long distance E to the central fenced section and find the receptacle for the Gate Key. Enter the enclosure and pull down the wall switch to open the door in the gray building back toward the W. Go there, enter and engage the soldier posted inside. Pull down the wall switch to open the floor trap door, drop down and kill two more soldiers.

 

One of them drops the BUNKER KEY, so pull back out, exit this building, turn right and run back to the NW crates. Return to the N side of the compound and go around to the E side of the large gray building. Use the Bunker Key to open the door, enter the building and shoot the soldier hiding to your left. Pull down the S wall switch to blast a hole in the fence behind you, go down to a lower room and pick up the EXPLOSIVE BRIEFCASE in the hallway. Exit to the compound, run E past the pink wall to the larger building ahead and open the door with the briefcase (rather an unusual use).

 

Enter the building, pull down the wall switch, go past the opened door, pull down another wall switch to set part of the compound aflame, get into the waiting motorboat and drive away to complete your mission with exit music and (in my case) a pitch black screen. After a minute or so Lara was back in the motorboat with nowhere to go, so there was nothing else for me to do but exit the game.
