Level 1: TEMPLE AQUATIS

NOTE: This walkthrough covers the version available for download from trle.net as of March 10, 2026. If you're playing that version, you'll have to find the golden dragon secret in this level on your own (assuming it exists in this version). If you're playing the updated version downloaded from trcustoms.org, there are differences noted below that should direct you to the golden dragon secret.

Slide down into a cave and shoot a rat lurking down to your left near a closed door. Hop down right, pull up into the opening ahead and run up the ramp. Go past a closed door requiring a key, search a nearby side passage for a small medipack and enter a wider passage next to the closed door and slide down to a lower section of the cave. Pick up 2 x flares, locate the nearby opening partially obscured by hanging vines and proceed to an area that smacks of civilization. Go inside and look for uzi ammo in a corner alcove, return to the sloped block near the entrance and use it to pull up into an upper room. Pull down the wall switch to open one of three trap doors down below, drop back through the hole and locate the opened trap door.

Slide down into a flooded room, swim down for a small medipack and continue through the nearby passage for automatic pistol clips. Swim up the ceiling shaft, surface and pull out into a room with the KEY. When you pick it up a nearby door opens, so go on through into the cave where you began the level and shoot a couple of rats. A dog is waiting for you in the passage you pulled up into earlier. Return there, go up the ramp and use the Key to open the door at the top. Enter, pull up left two times and climb the ladder to an outdoor area as Lara's theme music plays. Shoot the charging tiger, note the parked motorboat and await the arrival of a vulture. Jump into the water for flares and swim toward the waterfall. Wade past it into a small cave for a large medipack, return to the lake and climb into the motorboat. Note: In the trcustoms version there's a wall switch at the interior entrance that doesn't appear here.

Drive through the tunnel ahead, note the closed door to your right as you pass through and turn right at the wall to face a closed gate. Dismount right (jump + arrow keys) onto the ledge, pull down the wall switch to open a door back near where the motorboat was parked and jump into the water for a small medipack. Note: If you're playing the trcustoms version, look for and pull an underwater lever on the wall to the left of this ledge. Climb back into the motorboat, note the opening opposite the wall switch and drive to the lake where a dog is waiting. Dismount onto the bank opposite the waterfall, locate the opened doorway and go on through the short passage. Another dog will soon attack, so hop onto the corner blocks and shoot it upon arrival. Hop down and enter the room ahead, whereupon a door will close behind you.

Turn right, jump up to grab the surrounding ledge and pull up next to a pushblock. Pull it away from the spikes on the other side, climb over it and walk through the spikes Run across the corner onto the next ledge, shoot a baby spider and come to a second pushblock. Pull it three times next to a closed door, climb over it, hop onto the block around the corner and pull down the timed wall switch that opens a nearby door. Reverse roll, run off left onto the previous ledge and past the timed door. Pull down the wall switch in the alcove ahead to open a door somewhere outdoors. Return to the ledge, hop back up to the timed wall switch and pull it down again to open the gate below you. Safety drop to the floor, run past the timed gate and shoot a baby spider. Turn left, run to the end of the ledge and jump into the water. Swim toward the lake where you parked the motorboat and when you get there pull out right onto a bank with a couple of trees.

Climb the blocks to your right, pull up onto a surrounding rock ledge and see the wall opening ahead. Go past the opened door, shoot two rats and a dog and see four pushblocks, two on the right and two on the left. Turn left, pull out the one on the left and push it aside to reveal an alcove with a wall switch. Move the pushblock three more times to rest on the marked tile, and a gate lifts elsewhere.  Pull down the alcove wall switch to lift a second gate, then go to the other side of the room (the second pushblock on this side is a dummy). Pull out the pushblock on the right and move it onto the other marked tile near the first pushblock to lift another gate. Finally, go to the pushblock in the alcove to the left of the second pushblock, pull it out and push it aside to the left to reveal a wall switch that lifts a final gate. For a secret, move the third pushblock in front of the diamond-shaped hole in the nearby wall. A nearby door opens, allowing you to enter the passage for a RUBY DRAGON, a large medipack and a small medipack for SECRET #1.

Exit, climb onto the third pushblock and hop into the higher passage where all those gates lifted. Run through the passage into the next room, shoot a dog and jump into the water. Pull the underwater lever in the right wall and a door opens above you in the opposite wall. Surface, pull out and go past the opened door into a pool room. Shoot the dog, find the pushblock and move it through this room and into the doorway to the previous room as far as it will go. Jump into the pool, swim down and explore the ledges for shotgun ammo and uzi ammo, pull the timed underwater lever to open a door, flip turn and surface. Pull out, run into the opening ahead and turn left past the timed door into a passage leading to a previous room. Use the pushblock to reach the top of the central column for the KEY TO ENLIGHTENMENT 1. Drop to the floor, go through the passage where the gates lifted and jump into the water below for a small medipack and flares. Surface, pull out and return to the rock ledges surrounding the lake.

Go around clockwise, pausing for 2 x small medipack along the way, note the closed door ahead and jump down into the water. Pull out onto the motorboat, drive through the tunnel toward the closed gate and dismount onto the ledge to your left. Go through the opening, shoot the waiting dog and note the closed door requiring two keys. Actually, it requires just one, so place your key in the left keyhole to open the door. Go inside, shoot a rat and pull down the wall switch to open that door you saw on the rock ledge. Return to the motorboat, drive to the lake entrance and dismount right. Climb the blocks to the rock ledge, go around clockwise to the opened door and follow the passage to a ramp. Run up to trigger a boulder and veer right as it rolls by. Continue to a crossing, turn right or left and come to a sunken room with a large medipack and a small medipack. Pull up onto either ledge, go around to an opening that leads to a ledge overlooking a pool room with two columns. A dog lurks below, so deal with it before jumping the columns toward the other side of the room. Take a running jump to grab the wall opening and pull inside.

Walk slowly through the passage, triggering boulders as you progress, come to the next room and navigate a dart gauntlet by simply running through it (no need to jump). The next room has two rolling blades, and it’s a relatively simple matter to time your way past them. The final room has a truncated central pyramid with a large medipack on top. You could expect that picking it up might trigger a trap of some kind, but don’t worry. On your way back, check the roller blade alcove on your left (as you exit, and avoid tripping over the skeleton) for a small medipack. Climb the ladder in the opposite alcove to a passage that leads to a room guarded by two dogs. Climb the wall ladder, back flip onto the central ledge, pull up onto the block and jump to grab the surrounding ledge. Go up the ramp to trigger a boulder, wait for it to roll by, go up the rest of the way to a room with another truncated pyramid. Shoot two dogs, go around the pyramid for uzi ammo and find a nearby flat spot that you can use to reach the top of the pyramid for the KEY TO ENLIGHTENMENT 2.

When you pick it up, darts are activated, so slide down toward the entrance, jump over the darts and continue down the ramp to the surrounding ledge. Note: In the trcustoms version a flame has appeared on the block below and there's a nearby passage leading to the golden dragon secret. Stand jump onto the central block, safety drop to the floor and squeeze past the boulder to the opening leading to the roller blade room. Hop down, time your way past the blades and find that many more darts have been added to the gauntlet. Strangely enough, I was able to get past them with no health loss at all. Shoot a dog in the boulder passage, jump into the pool and explore the bottom for flares and a small medipack. Pull out on the other side, climb the ledge and exit to the sunken garden where darts have been activated. Get past them, follow the underground tunnel back down to the rock ledge surrounding the lake and make your way clockwise as far as you can go (a jump is required at one spot). When you reach an impassable slope, face the wall and side jump right onto the slope, slide and grab and shimmy right until you can pull up at a flat spot. Hop up right into the short passage and pick up the SILVER DRAGON and the UZIS for SECRET #2. Return, take a running jump down into the lake and swim over to the motorboat. Climb inside and drive through the tunnel toward the closed gate. Dismount once again onto the ledge to your left, follow to the two keyholes and use the one on the right to hear the sound of a door opening.

Enter the structure, go around the central column and slide down the slope toward a spike-trapped room. Jump near the bottom onto a sloped column, slide and jump onto the next column, slide and jump onto a safe block. Shoot the rat on the adjacent ledge, jump the slope toward an opening, run forward and slide down a long slope to finish the level.

Level 2: SANCTUARY OF THE SEA

Run forward, jump into the small pool and swim down for flares and a RUBY DRAGON that presumably counts as SECRET #1 (although I didn’t hear the customary chimes). Surface, pull out and search the surrounding alcoves for flares and uzi ammo. Pull the wall switch opposite the entrance to open a door to your left, go in and shoot two rats. Pull down the wall switch to lift an upper gate, climb one of the ladders and back flip into an upper room. Shoot a baby spider, search the alcoves for a small medipack and go past the lifted gate to face an indoor pool. Note: This area differs from the one in the trcustoms download, in that a wall switch off to your left is not present here, but that seems to make no difference in the following gameplay. Jump into the water, swim down for uzi ammo and pull back out. Jump to grab the broken column, pull up and take a running jump to grab the wall crack to your right. Shimmy left, pull up into an alcove, reverse roll and take a running jump onto the next column. Stand jump into the wall opening and go down the ramp to a flooded room. Pull down the wall switch, grab the shotgun ammo and return.    

Exit to the previous room, go around the central column to a lifted gate and take a running jump onto a column surrounded by spikes down below. Take a running jump to grab the next column, pull up and run forward to a wall switch that opens a door in an earlier room. Jump the column tops, and from the second column hop down to the left corner and jump with grab to land on a safe spot free of spikes. Go around the corner and pick up the SILVER DRAGON and 3 x shotgun ammo for SECRET #2. Walk through the spikes to find a large medipack in a nearby alcove on your right, return to the safe spot and get back up to the higher ledge. Go through the opening and look left for a ladder. Jump to grab it, climb down to a previously visited room and pull the wall switch back up. A door opens behind you, so reverse roll and go on through to the room with the cross-shaped pool. Go around it and past the door opened with the wall switch in the spike-floor room. Shoot two rats and a dog, jump into the water and look around for 2 x small medipack.

Surface, pull out and run to the opening at the other end of this room. Look for another small medipack at the far right corner of the next room, climb the rock ledge on the other side to a corner opening and go up the ramp to your left. Shoot a baby spider and proceed to an opening that overlooks an outdoor lake. Await the arrival of two vultures as two helicopters fly away, jump into the water and look for an underwater opening in the tall structure. Swim inside the structure, look for a small medipack near the far wall, surface and wade over to the wall ladder. Climb up a few rungs and take a rolling back flip to grab a jutting ledge. Pull up, turn right and hop into the opening. Go down past a side tunnel to your left, climb over a block and continue to a pool room with flaming columns. Pull down the timed wall switch to your left to turn off the flames for a few seconds, take a rolling back flip and take running jumps along three of the column tops to grab the far ledge. Pull up, shoot a baby spider and continue down toward a room guarded by more baby spiders. Shoot them before jumping the gap onto a structure with a central pool. Jump into the water, swim down for the DEPTHS KEY, surface and pull back out. Safety drop to the floor at the cost of some health, light a flare and look around for a large medipack and flares. Locate the wall ladder, climb up to an opening and run up the steps to trigger flames on the columns ahead.

Jump into the water, look for uzi ammo and a large medipack, surface at the far end and pull up at the left corner. Run up the ramp and hop right into the side passage you noted earlier. Continue to a smaller opening, note the closed gate to your left and continue to a lower room. Shoot two rats and locate the keyhole that accommodates your Depths Key. Use it to open the door to your left, enter and jump to grab the ladder and climb down to a lower area. Run down the ramp and swim the rest of the way to a flooded room with a central column, grab the flares near the far wall and surface. Pull out onto the surrounding ledge, pick up the uzi ammo and small medipack in one corner and enter the nearby breaktile passage. There’s a dog at the end of the passage, and two rats lurk beneath the breaktiles. Run over the middle (third) breaktile so that it crumbles and safety drop onto a safe spot in the spike-trapped floor. Shoot the rats and walk through the spikes to a pushblock in the far wall. Push it two times to access a new room, look left for shotgun ammo and a small medipack and drop down into the nearby trench for the HIGH CALIBER PISTOLS.

Pull back out, climb over the pushblock and take a running jump over the gap to grab the opening. Pull up to engage two thugs in the next room. Search the immediate area for uzi ammo, enter the passage in the near left corner and trigger three boulders as you proceed to the far wall. Pull down the wall switch to open a door elsewhere and activate the blade traps behind you. A baddy approaches from the other end of the passage. Jump over the blades in tight quarters at the cost of some health, return to the previous room and make your way down to a lower area. Locate the opened door, go on through and prepare to engage two dogs as you come to a room with a huge truncated pyramid. Climb a corner block and take standing jumps to reach the top. Pick up the KEY, slide to the floor and circle around the pyramid for flares. Exit the way you came, loop around left past the opened door and use the Key to open a second door.

Enter another pool room. There’s nothing in the water, so stand jump right to grab a ledge and pull up next to a row of breaktiles. Try to save at least two as you make your way across to the far corner (in case you might need them going back) and take a running jump to grab the ledge jutting out over the water. Pull up twice onto a higher ledge, go around and jump the corner to a ladder. Climb up, shift right and drop down onto a still higher ledge with another breaktile row. Save as many as possible as you jump over to the next corner, go around and take a running jump to grab the ledge in front of a corner opening that brings you to a room guarded by a dog and a baddy. Run around the central column, climb the ladder in the far wall and back flip onto the column top. Climb the next ladder past the ceiling hole and pull up onto a three-sided ledge. Hop onto the surrounding ramp and go up in either direction to find a wall switch that raises the water level in the pool. Get back down the way you came, jump into the water (I guess that saving those breaktiles wasn’t necessary after all) and locate the opened doorway.

Swim through and loop around right to find an underwater lever on the middle column. Pull it to open a nearby door, but first swim past the opened door to your left, continue along the passage to the room with the truncated pyramid and loop around right to find a new opening. Go down and around for the GOLDEN DRAGON and SECRET #3. Return to the far room with two pools, flip turn, surface and pull out where the door opened to reveal a pushblock puzzle. Push the block ahead one time, turn left and push the next block two times, push a third block next to the second block pull the second block back out. Push the second block toward the first block to reveal a passage with the ELEMENTAL KEY (cut scene of a closed door). Return, move the second pushblock back into the key passage so you can exit to the pool. Jump in, swim right to the far room with the twin pools, pull out and go through the opening between the two waterfalls. Take a running jump over the gap to grab the ledge, pull up and climb over the pushblock. Hop down and climb the ladder in the left corner alcove to a short passage. Drop down the other end for a small medipack and find the breaktile passage around the corner that you navigated earlier. Make your way across and jump into the water in the pool room ahead. Swim through the opening on your right and continue until you can surface, wade out and run up the rest of the way to the ladder that brings you back to a room now guarded by a thug and a baddy.

Go around the central structure and use the Elemental Key to open the adjacent door. Pull down the wall switch in the alcove to lift the gates in the central structure, reverse roll and enter for the ELEMENT OF WATER that starts a major earthquake and causes debris to fall from the ceiling. Go through the opening where a boulder rolled down and run up the ramp. Dogleg a bit left and continue up the ramp toward the sunlight as a second boulder is triggered. Simply run into the shallow hole and against the far wall as it rolls over your head, pull out and run toward the opening to end the level.
