"This was another scary level I had a go at. This one wasn't as scary with enemies but with atmosphere. Lara has a dream of her friend who is caught by the devil and she needs to rescue her. The place lara is in is very a gloomy place with heavy rain and... everything scary! The textures are brilliant and the gameplay was really good. In the end there is a nasty surprise... you'll have to play to find out! Don't miss it." - afzalmiah (05-Mar-2011) |

"In this level Lara had to rescue a friend and in order to do so, she had to perform a variety of tasks. The game play was actually pretty easy in terms of agility as I remember only one or two jumps where I had to try multiple times, but it is was always clear where to go and what to do next, so I needed to check with the walkthrough a few times. The four secrets were fairly easily found though. The atmosphere was a bit on the spooky side with wolves howling in the background and there were a few scary and surprising moments as I almost had expected. Lara got attacked only once and there were only a few unexpected taps, although the wooden spikes with the skeleton were quite nice. The cat dropping down in the church was another nice one. The level had some really nice camera work and the flybys were also a pleasure to watch - the flyby at the end had a strange ending nevertheless. There is not much to criticize in the texturing and lightning department. The architecture was well laid out and the rooms were nicely connected. There were enough flares, but not many needed since Lara could bring the torches (which the builder generously placed in case one forgot to bring the first one) almost everywhere through this level. Good choice if you want something spooky and a bit different than the usual artifact chase. (50min, 4 secrets found)" - Blue43 (15-Feb-2011) |

"Spooky that is for sure and charming as well. Although I got completely lost at times and came to a grinding halt a tad too much for my taste. There is a story in it and even the ending is sinister in my opinion especially when there is that laugh at the end. The atmosphere is very well done, as is the lightning throughout. I have to say that I looked in every nook and cranny just to look at all the small details that went into this game. I jumped in my chair when the black cat appeared LOL. Looking forward to the next one Clara" - Gerty (14-Oct-2007) |

"Remind me never to jump inside one of Clara's nightmares! This was a truly creepy experience, complete with spooky music, questionable holy places and a dark figure. Clara has done and exceptional job with gameplay, atmosphere and the best placed enemy encounter ever! This is a level not to be missed by anyone with a penchant for scary levels." - Shandroid (21-May-2007) |

"I never liked the very dark levels like this, but this one is very well made. It wants to be a creepy level in an small country village by night, with howling wolves, strange sounds, misterious people,... and the author have got it. Ambience is excellent with an intelligent use of cameras and sounds, and though you find much darkness there are enough flares and some torches. Good design and objects, but I only found one enemie and no extra weapons you won't need them. A professional level to enjoy." - José (14-Apr-2007) |

"This is a visually ravishing level with a fantastic atmosphere – dark, rainy night, with owls hooting and wolves howling. There are some great areas to explore – a church, flooded (and later drained) cellars, underwater passages, a gorgeous water mill area. There is an enigmatic dark figure around and occasional spooky laughter (but then Lara is attempting to rescue a friend from the devil so spooky is only to be expected). The ending is especially quirky and leaves real doubts as to the true nature of Lara’s ‘friend’. It’s an imaginative work and if you like something a little different you’ll love this one." - Jay (28-Mar-2007) |

"This level is a little creepy but not scary. There are supposed to be devils in it or should I see the devil that holds a girl captive so the atmosphere is relevant with the story. It starts outside in some kind of a forest with houses around and a church to explore. The golden roses that count as secrets are easy to find, I got all four of them. The ending is nice with the release of the girl at last. I enjoyed playing this a lot and recommend it." - Kristina (19-Mar-2007) |

"After the spate of depressingly dark levels I've played lately, I was prepared to dislike this one intensely when it began in a steady rain at night with no available flares for relief. However, I was soon taken by the charm of the gameplay, and after bumping up the gamma on my monitor to its maximum setting I was able to enjoy myself without being continually distracted by the darkness. The concluding sequence in the deep pit with the dangling cage is especially well done, and the story line with the accompanying cut scenes is, for a change, an integral part of the gaming experience. (When I play a custom level, I usually give little or no thought to the so-called "story line." In almost every case you're presented with the same moves and the same enemies dressed in different surroundings and occasionally given new animations, so I see little purpose in trying to discern any story in the gameplay. In most cases it adds nothing to my enjoyment of the level in any event.) You get more than an hour of solid entertainment here, and I can recommend this level highly." - Phil (14-Mar-2007) |

"This turned out to be one of these levels that despite all best intentions by the author, just did not click with me. During the 70 minutes I spent here, there were just a few too many times when I ran around in circles for a while, before eventually resorting to the walkthrough to find the task that had eluded me completely. Consequently, the gameplay experience was rather spoiled. That does not take away from this level being spooky and atmospheric, using great objects used and some rather original ideas with some scenes that carry the story along. The jumping and climbing around the church tower was nicely designed and the torch put to good use. The final area with the lava cave was impressively built as well and suited as a great finale." - MichaelP (05-Mar-2007) |

"A really neat little level that quite challenges the casual raider (like myself), but should also be fun for the hard-core raiders.
Incredibly atmospheric, I can't really add anything to the many great descriptions already here, other than to say it reminds me very much of the annual Halloween fest they used to hold at Burg Frankenstein near Darmstadt (attended twice, had a blast!) You'll get a nice spooky blast yourself playing this level, well worth your time! Great job, Clara!" - JohnC (02-Mar-2007) |

"This is a spooky mystery with a lot of interesting details to add to the enjoyment. For instance: Lara with a laptop in the opening fly by; in-game, a flash light for flares; park benches; a candle for a torch; the racing clock face that ticks, ticks, ticks; and demonic laughter as Lara falls to a water maze. And, of course, a black cat to enhance the haunted atmosphere. In the first few minutes of gameplay I had difficulty getting the pushable to move but once that was accomplished the game flowed until the end when Lara says " I can't think of anything else to do" lol Moving around the room once again brought me to the last secret and the answer to lowering the cage and the surprising end of the game. That isn't Lara lying dead, is it? No, the author assures us, Lara is, perhaps, merely unconscious.
Good, scary fun and recommended for all.
Thank you, Clara. Well done!" - Bene (28-Feb-2007) |

"I was tempted to award this full marks straight away due to the use of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells as the opening music, but decided to play the entire level just to make sure. As far as atmosphere, sound, lighting and textures are concerned this is as good as it gets.Gameplay is also of a high standard, although you do spend an awful lot of time (probably too much) wandering around trying to determine what to do or where to go next.As this is a German level it's important to bear in mind that, should you reach an impasse, simply shoot (or attempt to move) an unusual inanimate object;that invariably does the trick! Enemies are used extremely sparingly, but they are most effective;as is the black cat.The standard of overall construction is very high,as is the builders artistic vision. In terms of difficulty this is not a particularly challenging level, provided you know where to go and what to do;but even if you find yourself stumped as to your next move you won't ever be irritated,as there's so much to see and experience. This is an essential, enjoyable and highly rewarding play. What are you waiting for?" - Orbit Dream (28-Feb-2007) |

"The player will find him/herself in a small old village surrounded by dark woods and howling wolves. The atmosphere in this level is fantastic and scary.
The things I liked most about this level were the few spooky rooms, like the torture chamber and the cellar. Those places were really playing with your imagination. You are not just playing this level, you are experiencing it. The lightning and textures are really helping with this.
The baddies were very rare. This however, improves the quality of each baddy when you find one. Puzzles weren't very hard, but it had some tricky jumps. I also liked the end-quest, which was very well designed.
This is in my opinion how Ireland (Tr5) should have been." - Baslakor (27-Feb-2007) |

"Having played, and enjoyed, this author's other levels I was keen to have a look at her latest offering. This is nothing like her previous levels. It is very dark and atmospheric, as it's name suggests, and seems to make use of the advantages offerd by the patched tomb.exe. Whilst being quite scary throughout there are some nice little touches, the church cat being one example. Enemies are few and one really made me jump, even though I played in daytime, which just added to the atmosphere (the jump not the daytme). The gameplay was good and not too hard, although you will find yourself hunting around for the next place to go. A great last room with a twist to the end. All in all a very inventive level with mutterings on the forum that there may be a sequel. Download this and look out for the sequel - I am." - Jez (27-Feb-2007) |

"Once again, I stumble upon one of these rare gems. I have not played any level by this author before, but I will now! This level contains a fantastic atmosphere and some really creepy moments! I was also extremly impressed by the flybys and the music. Top stuff! The level is easy and pretty straight forward but it never gets boring. Always something to do. (If you get stuck you can always admire the hounds on the walls btw ;);)) Textures and lighting is done to perfection. So is the objects and secrets! To top all this you have a pretty cool end "fight". I just had to laught out loud when the cage dropped at the end LOL! This level is NOT to be missed. It holds the same class as "The ring" and "Blair witch" All tens from me. It really deserves it!" - QRS (26-Feb-2007) |

"The key word for this game is atmosphere. It oozes it from the very start as the howling wolves give you goosebumps. Your task at hand is to find the switches, keys and crowbar that will give you access to the deserted rectory and chapel. There are some wonderfully scary moments in this game which I will not give away here - if you love this kind of adventure, download this one now. I was glad Lara had the revolver and I hope it really was just a nightmare ! Well done, Clara !" - Mugs (18-Feb-2007) |
