Reviewer's comments
"A remake of Lara's Home. There isn't much to talk about here. Most outside textures have been replaced with snow. Lara's pistols have turned into magnums from TR1 and her shotgun has transformed into an M16. From what I could tell there isn't anything else that stands out. Kill the two enemies that ambush you in front of the mansion and you're basically done. Very lazy remake that makes me wonder why the author bothered. No end trigger and not recommended." - LuxQSD (17-May-2022)
"lara's birthday party, well poor lara with 2 goons on snowmobiles trying to kill her on her birthday outside her TR2 mansion how rude! if by some miracle you do manage to kill the goons and survive what you'll find when you finally manage to open the door to her home is not a party with decorations and guests no, its just a continued copy/replica of the tr2 mansion! oh dear! unfortunately from here on in apart the grounds now being nice and snowy everything is the same as the original making the rest of the level unoriginal and boring im afraid" - John (11-Aug-2021)
"Well, other than the chance to see the TR2 mansion in all its glory and wince at the sight of Lara running around in the snow in her bare feet, there’s not a heck of a lot going on here, apart from trying not to die in the assault from a couple of chaps on snowmobiles." - Jay (09-Oct-2019)
"A Tomb Raider 2 Lara's Home level somewhat altered as it is winter and snow abounds. You can go explore on the snowmobile before entering the mansion and the goons will just sit in mid air but once you enter the mansion they mount the snow mobile and attack with a vengeance. As you only have 2 rounds for the M16 and no med packs, the ensuing pistol battle is quite one sided and somewhat unfair in my opinion. Locate the treasure room IF you survive and that is it." - Torry (06-Oct-2019)
"When I went to the front of the mansion and saw that guy in midair I thought: "my God!". That area was very hard, shooting the bikers from the top of a wall only with pistols. At least the timed run was not very hard, and finally Lara reaches the basement (treasure room?) but no finish trigger. Unremarkable." - Jose (20-Jan-2018)
"Is it me or are there no medipacks in this level? If you survive the initial onslaught then you’ll be fine. No finishing trigger so when you found the basement, the level ends there. Not my sort of fun though." - Gerty (27-Jul-2017)
"This level is essentially TR2 Lara's Home, with a few minor changes. For instance, the outsides are covered with snow and you get two party crashers in the form of snowmobile dudes (a somewhat unfair match but manageable). If you take your time to explore the rest of the house you might notice the only other change to the scenery is that the fridge is no longer a fridge. Everything else was pretty much unchanged. Ratings reflect said changes, not the original level, of course. 10 minutes. 05/17" - Treeble (28-May-2017)
"Oh, look, another mansion level and another exact copy. The only differences are the questionable additions of some snowmobilers and the fact that it has been snowing, nothing else has changed. Only for die hard Mansion fans only." - Ryan (08-Jul-2016)
"A normal TR2 mansion with winter texturing, nicely contrasting Winston's blood, shatterable windows and a twin battle. The first fight is insanely annoying but the second one is equally satisfying because of the most useful pickup dropped by the previous enemy - an armed snowmobile. Some SFX is missing, possibly not ported correctly from Tibetan levels, and the game could have some specified goal. I tried to lock one of the enemies in the freezer but I gave up, you can try :)" - DJ Full (27-Jan-2016)
"You can run through Lara's TR2-home here and drive a snowmobile in it...and kill some enemies on snowmobiles. No finish-trigger!" - Nuri (09-Jul-2015)
"Aside from the invigorating and rather fun snowmobile battle near the start (*hint* take out the first baddy with your pistols from on top of a hedge;then nick his vehicle and attack the second with gusto and extreme prejudice)and the usual tight timed run to the basement door, there is absolutely nothing else to do in this Laras Home copy (there is no obvious Finish Trigger - although there could conceivably have been a key lying around somewhere for the keyhole in Lara's bedroom;but I couldn't locate it).The snowy textures are alright, but nothing else has been done to perk this one up.Yet another in the seemingly endless list of Home levels which I keep on encountering." - Orbit Dream (29-Jan-2015)
"Cool level, but this is a copy of Croft Manor in TR2, with snow and snowmobile. So, there is no Puzzles. There are two ennemies, no object, no secret." - SlyRaider (23-Aug-2014)
"This is nothing more than the familiar Croft Manor level design that we all know and love, only in that there's snow all over the place, Lara's running around outside in her dressing gown(as you do) and there are two rather unfairly-placed snowmobile enemies that will ensure that you will never be able to enter the inside of the manor in a legitimate manner. Not like there have been any changes made whatsoever to the inside areas of the manor anyway *groans*. So overall, this comes across as just another pointless release in all honesty. While there are a few raiders out there, who will want to try time and time again in defeating both of the snowmobile enemies and access the inside of the manor without as much hassle, I wasn't that masochistic enough to do that task and immediately added it to the scrap heap. So, approach with caution, if you're a fan of Home levels." - Ceamonks890 (23-Jul-2014)
"This is a "remake" of Lara's mansion with snowy exterior textures, a remodelled shotgun, and a fight with two snowmobile gunners that's extremely difficult (you can bypass it altogether though). The exterior reskin is okay, but a lot of items aren't snowy at all (the only objects that were changed seem to be the statues in the middle of the maze). There's very little of merit to see here (and nothing to hint at the title), although I guess you can check it out if you want to see a familiar environment looking a bit different." - Mman (03-Feb-2012)
"Only thing different from TR2 Manor was the snow and the snowmobiles. After endless tries I finally could beat them." - manarch2 (14-Sep-2010)
"Been there, done that... yes, it does look kind of nice in the snow but it is still the same Lara's Home that we have played in a hundred times now, so I did quit rather quickly, given there is little to do and no finish trigger per the readme file. The only thing worth mentioning are the snowmobiles with machine guns that are indeed hard to beat - if you choose to take up the challenge - I chose not to..." - MichaelP (06-Sep-2010)
"You can roaming in the Croft Manor for your enjoy. You can save here. But if you bored, exit from the level. I haven't find final trigger. And I can't understand why we have to run in the winter, snow by barefoot. :) A bit buggy, seems a bit hasty. If you like the Home levels, try it." - Obig (29-May-2010)
"Seems like Lara has no luck if we're speaking about her birthdays. She can't stay at home, sit down and watch tv or anything. She sets out for an adventure, or like this time, her house gets attacked by a guy, who sits on the air. Otherwise, this level doesn't make any sense since it's the winter version of TR2 Croft Manor, maybe some decorations would've made it nicer. Also, you can avoid the enemy's trigger. At least, he didn't want to do anything for me." - rtrger (07-Mar-2010)
"A TR2 home level with an ironic title. The obstacle course and the manor look lovely after the freshly fallen snow. Lara can shoot her own kitchen windows to get inside the mansion at the back, but there is nothing to do inside. The attic is dark and empty, and the bedroom closet is locked. The front door can't be opened from inside as there is no button. The gag here is that if Lara goes outside to the front of her house there are two men sitting in air. If she approaches her front door these transform into snowmobile riders, who zip forward with machine guns blazing and run her down. Lara can touch a corner of the entryway to trigger one armed snowmobile, then can leaped over it and run to the sunken interior of the fountain, the only place she may be safe. The idea is to jump straight up shooting from the center of the fountain, take out the first snowmobile, commandeer it and use its guns. But once Lara is safe in the fountain, the first snowmobile goes into the maze, roaring back and forth, so Lara can barely get off a shot at it. There is also a timed run in this level once Lara has dispatched the snowmobile riders. There is no end trigger. When players get bored they can quit." - dmdibl (20-Feb-2010)
