Reviewer's comments |
"One of the best sounding levels. Visually controversial and once or twice unfair, but resolving very nicely, so I advise you not to use the walkthrough but soldier on and play it whenever you're mentally ready." - DJ Full (18-Sep-2022) |

"I enjoyed the golden, luminous looks of the level, and I thought the paths and puzzles were
quite well thought of. Nonetheless, it is clear from the start that the paths are multiple
and rather complicated to fully understand, something made even clearer in the last part,
jumping from branch to branch, from building to building, with most of your views hidden by
the dense foliage. The cut scenes are a little long, but interestingly made. Enemies are
only easy tigers, snakes, and vultures that can make you easily fall off a branch. I admit:
I had a hard time finding my way around all this. Clever? Yes. A bit too clever? Oh yes. A
demo? If you really wish to call it that." - Jorge22 (23-Aug-2022) |

"I betatested this demo so I'll be rather short in the notes - a very solid 1 hour long level that bears some reminiscences on the demo v1 but is a unique level. The looks are very colourful and authentic, the atmosphere is great, maybe the only thing to reconsider is the lighting in the temple yards that felt a bit too bland at times. Gameplaywise this is heavy on platforming and exploration, with a few decent puzzles in between. Perhaps some more timed runs and puzzles could spice up the thing even more but I found this game to be quite enjoyable, especially the platforming where you have to work out how to progress. Enemies are nicely placed as well as the three secrets. Hope to see the full version soon!" - manarch2 (16-Aug-2022) |

"I fail to see the logic of releasing a demo, expanding it twelve years later to a level
consuming the better part of two hours and yet continuing to call it a demo. The original
had long since faded from my memory, assuming I'd played it at all, but this sprawling
adventure in a jungle environment was pleasant for the most part. The secret sound of a
diminished chord played arpeggio-style was a nice touch. The limb-hopping near the end grew
wearisome after a while, and the halls and stairways of the temple began to look the same
even as new areas were opened, but Dutchy's walkthrough kept me headed in the right
direction. I know I've acquired a reputation over the years as a dark-level-hating ogre, but
the lighting in this one bordered on the garish, even though a flare was needed on rare
occasions. In any event, I certainly can't complain about not being able to see where I was
going in this level. Enemies are few in number, consisting of bats, rats, vultures and
tigers, but they usually appear in tight situations and plenty of firepower is provided to
deal with them. A fun raid, but given the history of demo 1.0 and 2.0, I won't be holding my
breath for the full release." - Phil (27-Jul-2022) |

"This level featured some heavily decorated settings and also some unique elements to the
game play. The enemies were placed sparingly throughout the level and appropriately so. As
well as a decent amount of supplies were given to make the game a bit easier. Granted, the
main cause of damage would be from far falls for the most part. My only discrepancy is that
some of the jumps are a little too difficult to make and requires a lot of time and
dedication to succeed. Other than that, I'm looking forward very much so to the future
finished game!" - g12STL (25-Jul-2022) |

"I remember the initial demo of this level
being a rather enjoyable if frustrating
experience in well-made but quite repetitive
environments. This "demo 2" (which, and
correct me if I'm wrong, seemed to be a
substantially new level), fixes those issues
and offers more in the way of attractive
settings thanks to new texture sets that I
don't recall having seen before. The main
goal is still the same (lift the plug to
empty the temple of water) but thanks to
more friendly camera guidance, less reliance
on repetitive corridors and more varied
puzzles, this is a much more well-rounded,
coherent and enjoyable experience. The
vultures were a bit annoyingly placed,
particularly when Lara was stood on
precarious tree branches and maybe the jumps
across narrow ledges were a tad tricky, but
otherwise I rather enjoyed this. Well done!" - Ryan (23-Jul-2022) |

"I'm not sure where to begin, but I must say the gameplay was enjoyable for me. A bit of here
& there challenges like the spikes. I got the Hindu vibe from the textures and atmosphere.
Which I like that vibe. I had no issues in till got to the ladder from the top when I went
to climb up she just kept going falling down not grabbing, but all I did was relaunch the
level and it was fine so nothing major there. I got to the first secrets but as far as the
other 2 I knew where they were just couldn't figure how get to em. A bit of climbing at the
last section of the level was very interesting but bit hard to figure where ya need go, I
still manage my way. On other hand others might have that difficulty figuring it out. The
riddle puzzle I enjoy those its nice see those put back in levels. Now one issue I did have
that I didn't really like there was certain areas where the bushes got in my way of view,
those annoyed me but didn't change my mind how feel bout level still was enjoyable gameplay.
To navigate in this level one really needs to explore and remember where things are u can
get easily lost. Climbing the flowerpots along the wall, clever....For a demo seem very long
& felt like a full set level. If you intend to full game release of this level I await to
see what's next...." - ShadowZia (22-Jul-2022) |
