Reviewer's comments
"It's clear from this level, and from his much more accomplished and enjoyable later efforts, that Lukasz was still experimenting with what the Level Editor had to offer, as I found this one rather poor, I'm sorry to say. The areas are huge, empty and very blandly textured and the gameplay is extremely underwhelming with just a few keys to search for and a few enemies to gun down. There were also a couple of areas that apparently proved useless gameplay-wise, one jump to the top of a snowy hill proved difficult (although I guess that was optional as there was only shotgun ammo up there) and the ending is frightfully abrupt after around 17 minutes. Lara's outfit and the custom sounds were nice, but I'd only really recommend this for hardcore reviewers nonetheless." - Ryan (02-Jun-2018)
"As much as i love Lukasz Croft levels i must admit these first ones showed a "young" builder with still a lot to improve. I'm glad he did though. Anyway this level is short, fast passed with little challenge, some awkward transitions, such as the last part, that pointless area was annoying (stuck there trying to get to an opening just to find out through the walkthrough that the previous room placed a random stair case in the middle of the wall) and a pointless key i guess? Lack of camera work didn't help. It's still a bit fun and not that bad of a level but that pointless area or "decoy" area did annoy me so i removed 1 point on the game play." - Zhyttya (24-Feb-2017)
"Boxy level full of helicopters and no real creativity. Its a fast level and the textures were actually quite nice. The crowbar was hard to find but that's it. The end trigger is a bit strange since it opens a new area but there is nothing there. Still, short and fast but glad is over" - Leeth (24-Feb-2017)
"A sweet and short shooter style level in a large warehouse and part cold/snowy setting. The game-play is straightforward and as easy as it gets. Shoot a couple of enemies, pull a lever here and there and pick up a few items. The level seems a bit unfinished as there is an additional large icy room where there is absolutely nothing to do than run around and look. The atmosphere, textures and lighting were nice and basic. The helicopters were a nice touch. There are a few custom sounds and no cameras. I thought it was a fun short raid and perfect for in between and unless your expectations are set to high, you probably won't be disappointed. (about 20 minutes)" - Blue43 (16-Jan-2011)
"Another of Lukasz' earlier levels and a rather short one. This one felt more like other levels from this author so I was rather pleased with my time here. It's a small base level that sets you after a couple of keys until you eventually reach the end. There were a few issues, such as the large and boxy rooms and at least one wafer thin wall. As usual you have several new sound effects and I actually liked the outfit Lara sported -- some of the enemies also had new textures to match the snowy environments. 15 minutes, 1 secret. 01/09" - Treeble (06-Jan-2009)
"The start of the level mostly amounts to jumping around crates and shooting boxes to obtain items, along with a couple of enemies to deal with. A short swim later and we emerge outside, with some more enemies to kill and a key to insert. Not long after that the level is over. Texturing seemed quite good at times, but there were also some horribly textured sections, as well as some paper thin walls. It sounded pretty nice though, and the gunfire noises were a decent alternative to the usual ones. More cameras would have been nice, however, as once or twice I didn't know what the key I had just inserted had done. An average level, with nothing really that exciting to do in it." - Spike (15-Jul-2007)
"You won't be needing more than half of hour to complete this level wich has some flaws that even my untrained eye has noticed, wich the other builders have mentioned in their reviews.I don't like shooter levels for Tomb Raider, but I decided to give tihs one a go, but I wasn't too impressed and it didn't change my opinion." - dya1403 (19-May-2007)
"This is another short level which is about twenty minutes that doesn't have much to do I am afraid. There are just a couple of keys to find, two fuses and some swimming. The guards you have to kill are and dogs are not hard at all to deal with. I found one secret." - Kristina (15-Apr-2006)
"As I'm a fan of icy environments and of base class levels, I had lots of fun with this level even when it's a short one (about 25 minutes) and an extremely easy one. But it's fun! The TR3 enemies (love them anyway) fit very well and the atmosphere, and especially the sounds are great. Luskasz always provides us with super sounds in my opinion. Pity though that the textures aren't the way I expected them to be. Judging from his others levels, he knows how to do better concerning the textures." - Tinka (23-Mar-2006)
"I'm really sorry Lukasz, but this is bad. It's not even a demo as you've shown yourself very capable of making. I looked up your levels I've played, like Opera, Los Vegas, Chunnel, Mysteriousness, Slaying in London, VC in Paris, they are far superior to this. I was going to just decribe what I found here, like those enormous streaks that come out of textures, texture squares floating around in mid air, missing textures, the key pickup stuck in a corner, opening a door to a room with nothing to do, and what I can only describe as an enormous flooded toilet! I did like the great sound of the pistols. But I really feel the need to tell you that this mass production, although showing your great enthusiasm and energy, is not doing you any favours at all. It's almost as if I've gone back way beyond four years ago when people were trying their hand at building a custom level for the first time. But I remember excellent first efforts by first time builders even back then. No one could doubt your commitment to building. I even thought that this was an old level of your'se and you just decided to release it to get it out of the way. If you could only channel all that energy and enthusiasm and imagination into building one level, take your time, ask questions in the building forums if your not sure, I'm certain you have it in you to produce one amazing blockbuster of a level. And many more after that. What you do say? Go for it . . . ." - CC (25-Feb-2006)
"Another short level from Lukas. Always notice his style of shooter. Not well builded, simply architecture, wafer thin walls, ilegal slopes, elongated textures,... You'll only have to explore, find some keys, pull some switches and kill some enemies. You'll not delay more than half an hour to finish this level." - Jose (21-Feb-2006)
"I liked the atmosphere of this level. Lukasz really does specialise in what I like to call 'coffee break' levels - cheap and cheerful, i.e. short, not at all cerebral but entertaining enough for the time they last. This is mainly a warehouse setting with guards and dogs as enemies and a couple of keys and fuses to find before going back to the trusty helicopter." - Jay (14-Feb-2006)
"Again a short level of Lukasz and if you played more of his levels, you know the drill. Gather as much ammo and hardware as you can, shoot everything in sight (apart from the man dressed in red as he is harmless), hunt down some odd stuff you need, like Keys and the Crowbar and Bob's your uncle. Had to laugh seeing that chopper in the hangar and wondered how on earth it got there. The bats were icy bats in here and what where those beetles dressed up as Santa doing in here LOL. Found only one secret though. 27-01-2006" - Gerty (30-Jan-2006)
"Lara's task is to escape from Moscow. I enjoyed playing very much. This game is suitable for beginners, textures are very nice and they fit to the environment. Game kept me running and searching for items to proceed. Also audio fits to the environment. Enemies are no big challenge and I like the helicopters. :-) I found one secret in 40 minutes of game-play. :-)" - Oxy (27-Jan-2006)
"'Lukasz Level Mass Productions' typically delivers a reasonable half hour level, but this one falls a bit short in time (20 minutes) and also in quality, as there is really little to do in a really rather basic environment. You start in a warehouse, look for a key, two fuses and later the occasional underwater lever. There are two ice cave secret areas but the second one does not register and plenty of guards to kill. Highlight of the level are some enhanced sound effects." - MichaelP (25-Jan-2006)
"Thirty six minutes and most of this time I was searching for the end trigger, eventually found it up a ladder leading to a helicopter, so why did the final room open? There was nothing in there!!! Lara is in a warehouse type environment and it all looked rather nice in the first room with the boxes and menagerie, a crashing wall, storm troopers and dogs. Found a key to a secret room which was also littered with enemies, troopers, dogs and flying thingies. You need to find two fuses which were easily tracked down. Moved on without the crowbar and thanks to the binoculars I found it eventually. But the next areas until the end were bleak and empty; although nicely covered with snow there was little else to look at. Find a key at the end and use it to open a door out into a snowy room, but as I say, there was nothing to be found in there other than two trucks, and search as I may there was no second secret to be found anywhere. The shoot outs were predictable, you just knew there was an enemy as soon as you accomplished anything, and really this was way too small and empty making game play after the first room rather dull. There was a guy in a red suit near the end and I think he was meant to help as he didn't attack, but when enemies showed up he ran off and got stuck in a wall, the coward! Textures were poorly applied and with thin walls in places too this didn't help matters. It's a shame because this could have been a good level if only more time had been taken in the latter areas, and somehow this didn't seem finished to me." - Moonpooka (20-Jan-2006)
"It's an odd little level this one. It's made up of about 4 main large open to air areas but although they are all open to air only 3 seem to have gotten themselves full of snow, and 2 of these rooms filled with snow seem to be copies of each other with the exception that one has a pool of water and the other has some trucks in it otherwise they are the same. In the 20 minutes this lasted you find some keys and fuses which is not a difficult proposition and that's about it, you also meet some dogs and white camouflaged guards but they are easy to deal with on the whole. You end after a climb to a helicopter and I'm not sure if I missed anything in the second snow room as there seemed to be nothing in it but as I missed one of the two secrets it may have been hidden in there. So summing up I'd have to say this was somewhat of a disappointment." - Sash (15-Jan-2006)
"Oh dear! Considering this is Lukasz' 12th level, there really is no excuse for something this poor. Horribly stretched textures;poor 'search every square inch for the small crowbar' gameplay;buggy helicopters;wafer-thin walls;poor lighting;no 'end of level' trigger. I thought these were things that Lukasz had improved upon in his more recent levels, but it seems (unless this was a delayed release of a much earlier effort) that he has taken a pronounced step backward. Bearing in mind that his previous release was only four days ago,I would strongly reccommend he put aside his apparent ethos of 'quantity over quality' and spend sufficient time on his next adventure so that we,his players, can enjoy it the way he surely intends us to." - Orbit Dream (14-Jan-2006)
