Reviewer's comments |
"What i liked the most about this snowy level was the original layout and area that its
situated in because the aim of the level is to make your way up to the top of the snowy
cavern with use of the green tower which was thoroughly an intriguing and enjoyable set of
tasks. We are not just talking platforming here (but there is plenty) we have some quite
challenging gameplay started off with some timed health swimming in a giant underwater
cavern to find a switch, a gate and few pickups followed by icicle traps, a pushable object
task, a timed run involving fire and collapsing tile and switch task as well so great
variety here! Enemies include white tigers, snow owls and scary yetis at the end and they
have quite large health so beware here. I did think a few times that some tasks were a bit
obscure like the underwater switch and gate location: i mean its not like you can casually
explore down there, also like the shoot target with the secret and actually the initial
platforming on the green tower despite reading about the new ledge jump move in the readme
file. I thought the bright white and green texturing was gorgeous as was the coloured
lighting in some of the caves and of course the setting with all the snow and wintery
atmosphere was just very appealing overall" - John (28-Apr-2022) |

"A level with a certain dose of originality , good objects and some good challenge thrown
in. The goal of the level is rather obvious but the way is a bit tricky at times. The
enemies take too long to die and by the way what is a shark doing in icy water ? The
music is quickly boring so i played with the sfx only. Lighting is simply just not there
while texturing is rather neat. I like some parts of the level which is technically well
made but globally it was more upsetting than fun. It's not very long so that can appeal
to players who like a quick challenge." - eRIC (03-Jul-2021) |

"First thing I would like to point out about this level is how it fails at atmosphere,
the reason for that is because it tries to merge things that are far too different,
first, it's a TR3-based level but uses loud background noises, which is the complete
different silent nature of TR3, the place doesn't seem to be a lousy place as well.
Secondly, It uses the TR Legend Kazakhstan level's background song for the level's
own background, it's an iconic noise for whoever played Legend, and doesn't match the
scenery that the player would firstly connect to Kazakhstan. But most importantly,
the lack of lighting has great fault for making the level so lifeless and thus not
matching with the life-full nature of the background song.
The few puzzles of this game were or confusing or clueless, but the challenges, like
the lava-floor one, had me enjoying them. Some players might not like this challenge
in some aspects, so this may be a personal thing that I like trying hard jumps.
This level can be annoying too. The freezing water part, for example, I had to make a
perfect trajectory to get to the item at the bottom of the lake and manage not to
froze to death in time, in a very slim time. Enemies took far too much time to kill,
to the point it got boring to dodge so much.
This level has some "moments" in gameplay but in an overall look it's a clueless,
left in a big space without knowing what to do kind of level, it has no atmosphere at
all as well as no lighting, not even colourless ones to copy TR3." - HaniHeger (01-Jul-2021) |

"This is a solid, entertaining level that took me a little less than an hour to complete. As
has been my habit recently, I deleted some of the looping sound files early on so I could
play in relative peace and quiet. I had a little trouble spotting the target that opens the
gate to the first secret, so I tweaked Treeble's walkthrough at that point to provide a
little extra guidance for those as clueless as I am. The lighting is flawless throughout,
rarely requiring the use of a flare, and there's a neat breaktile jumping exercise near the
end that I conquered on the first try (because I was lucky). Those two yeti at the end took
all of my remaining high-powered ammo and quite a few pistol rounds before both were dead.
The snow owls are retextured harpies. The ledge jump is familiar, but for some reason
requires the use of different keys. It won't win any prizes, but it's definitely a fun raid." - Phil (23-Nov-2020) |

"Not very pleasant this level, try to carefully explore the cold waters or if you miss the crowbar you'll get totally stucked near the top of the tower. The idea is not bad, but the author should not let the player advance without the necessary items. The enemies are very very hard to kill, and it's rare that the builder didn't use some musics and more cameras/flybys to create a better ambience. I got only two secrets (how to open the bars door at the top of the cliff?) and sometimes I was forced to run through the spikes taking some damage. The hint in the room with the several switches was very complex. Anyway an original level worth to play, but not for beginners." - Jose (04-Nov-2020) |

"Totally unlit and you can skip half of the level but when I retried and persisted, I had fun. Also quite unique enemy usage and weapon diversity as for such a short runtime. Not much more because it's rather a demo, but I could totally see it become a prologue to some further plot for that chalice. Nice one but please betatest." - DJ Full (26-Oct-2020) |

"I almost gave up on this game right at the start as I'm really not a fan of the health
draining icy water scenario, which I find very challenging. However, once past that
section, the whole climbing of the tower became rather enjoyable. It's not a long level,
but it's quite eventful and the enemies – tigers, yetis and snowy owls (oh no, poor Hedwig)
– are surprisingly tough to deal with. There's the odd trap and puzzle thrown into the mix
too and I liked the look of the crisp, bleak, snowy landscape contrasted with the imposing
green tower structure." - Jay (28-Sep-2020) |

"This 40 minute level got itself off to an awkward start, with a sequence of timed swims
in freezing water - one of my least favourite gameplay devices. It compounded this by
following up with a sequence involving a necessary buggy move;which I always feel is a
little unfair. Added to these,an incredibly hard to identify target to shoot (admittedly
not compulsory);some extremely resilient enemies;and a fairly cryptic lever puzzle - and
what you end up with is a rather sharp and uncompromising level, albeit well assembled
and technically accomplished. The atmosphere is appropriately chilly, although the scenery
is somewhat bland. It feels rather like a One Room Challenge adventure, and is perfectly
fine for all that." - Orbit Dream (15-Sep-2020) |

"Very Small level, and straight forward, I would say it's an Okay level, nice snowy theme
with a nice wearing from Lara. I love the inventory menu, So CLASSIC, my favorite. I got
only 2 secrets I know the third secret could be reached using the rope, I tired many I
didn't get it I gave up on it, There were to pick ups underwater and a gate, Assuming
the third secret was there, Im not sure tho. I give this level 7/10" - p1kaa (13-Sep-2020) |

"Here's a nice adventure surrounding a small tower. Gameplay revolves mostly around finding levers to open doors as you proceed with your ascent, so while it's nothing we haven't seen before, I had a lot of fun here. Aesthetically I also found it very aligned with my personal tastes, having professed time and time again my love for snowy levels. The arctic tigers and yeti seemed to be buffed up, taking quite a while to fall to pistols, but overall this was a straightforward and simple raid. 30 minutes, 2 secrets. 08/20" - Treeble (06-Sep-2020) |

"Despite needing a touch-up in a few places,
the progression in this level was actually
quite enjoyable. The concept of exploring
the tower and surrounding mountains is a
really neat one (although the level does end
after a sadly short duration) and it's quite
nicely done. Admittedly, freezing water
sequences always seem to be rather tedious
for the player (and this was no exception)
and there were a couple of instances where
progression could only conceivably be made
by utilising certain "manoeuvres" or
depleting Lara's health, which seemed to be
scurvy tricks in my opinion. The overall
texturing and lighting application was rough
and a bit unpleasing on the eyes, but the
architecture did create a sense of strong
imposition, so props for that. And I did
enjoy utilising Lara's ledge jumps, the
breaktile sequence and the nifty little
lever puzzle, although the final boss battle
was more tedious than challenging, even if
you do happen across the Shotgun in the
secret area. Enjoyable enough while it
lasts, however." - Ryan (01-Sep-2020) |

"At first I finished this level in 5 minutes because of one rather obvious shortcut using a long shimmy among the rocks and one shortcut that even seemed intended or neglected because finding the last artifact is entirely optional. But with so many things undone I did it again and it was a decent 15 minute level with a bit of everything, platforming, puzzles, traps (mostly the cold water, but also the breakable tile section). Enemies are quite strong in this one as it took a while to shoot the tigers and especially the yetis, but it was alright with enough ammo around. The looks are rather cubic with pretty flat lightin and often wallpapered texturing but the sheer height of the area creates a bit of atmosphere. I was a bit disappointed that the titular tower actually only played a side role in this game with some challenges in and around. Anyway more enjoyable than the builder's previous game. Found the three nice secrets." - manarch2 (24-Aug-2020) |

"This is a rather short level where the action takes place
mainly in a large snowy canyon, which includes a tower.
Your task is to get to the top of the tower where you
will find elixir of life, which looks like a glass of
wine. Most of the time you are performing jumping tasks
and firing some enemies that include white tigers, owls
and two yetis in the end. The highlights of the game are,
however, a switch puzzle that really made me think hard
and I liked also very much the room near the end where
you need to jump on several collapsing floor tiles to
reach a jump switch. There are couple of things that I
felt could be changed to improve the gaming experience.
Early in the level you can find a crowbar that you need
later. If you miss the crowbar, you will need to do a lot
of backtracking to first get the crowbar and then get
back higher up in the tower, which can be a little
tedious. You can also get to the finish trigger before
picking up the elixir of life and this way you can skip
part of the end. You don't need to utilize any special
trick to do this either, since on top of the tower you
can simply jump to the zip line and use it to reach the
end. Visually the level looks fairly nice, although, room
geometry is simplistic and lighting looks somewhat bland.
Taken together, this is a pretty nice level that will
offer some platforming and a cool switch puzzle to solve." - Samu (22-Aug-2020) |
