Reviewer's comments |
"Another solid offering from Opaque here. There is a niche of short and sweet levels that
Opaque fills very well. While not the most challenging level and quite short, what the
builder sets out to do, they do very well! Some mean enemy placement and a devilish timed
run providing the main challenge. Overall had a really good time with this release and would
recommend for players of all skill levels." - Feats (04-Sep-2024) |

"at 29 minutes, shorter than Spider temple, Greek temple does not fail to entertain with its
enemies , traps , and puzzles. Some challenges with for instance the trial with pillars with
timed fire burners, its' useless to save here (the burners are if we reload) but it is
generously timed. I wished the architecture to be a bit more ambitious. Pleasant lighting." - eRIC (19-Mar-2024) |

"Aah, the nostalgia of going back to TR1 Greece again. This a very faithful rendition that
gives you 30 minutes of straightforward and fairly linear progression in the usual quest for
the three lead bars that the friendly Midas Hand will turn into gold for you at the end.
Quite a few easy to kill enemies around (with health bars this time) - lions, gorillas,
bats, crocs... And quite a few boulders trying to squash Lara in various places. Gameplay
challenges are mainly the two timed sequences, but both are really not too hard to master. 2
easy to find secrets are also added for good measure and yes, of course, I had to try what
happens when Lara jumps onto that Midas hand, but I will not give it away here ;)" - MichaelP (10-Feb-2024) |

"A very nice adventure where you explore a greek temple, complete with only TR1 assets. It's
a chill and TR1-Like level, having all the aspects that made the original greece levels good
in the first game. Can't really complain about anything!
There's also some cool sections and it just adds to the overall strong quality this level
has! Willing to see more from the builder in the future." - OblivionJaw (10-Dec-2023) |

"As Treeble has noted, this is the first TR1 level that I was able to play straight off, without
having to struggle through DOSbox,or any other such arcane method. For that alone,it receives a
bonus point. It's a good hark-back to those nostalgic late 90's days, when TR levels involved
solitary (from a human perspective) exploration in atmospheric interiors;while shooting loads of
marauding animals. This has all those ingredients (including the deadly Midas hand!);together with
loads of platforming, and a decent pushable puzzle sequence. I had a problem with saving during the
fire-column room (which could have been an issue with my set-up,so I let it pass);and the camera
cutaways held too long - but it was otherwise a fun and incident-filled jaunt through well made
retro environments. Opaque79 continues to be a leading exponent of this sort of custom level." - Orbit Dream (28-Jun-2023) |

"A very short but pleasant TR1 level. The gameplay is quite basic and straightforward but
engaging. We encounter a few puzzles, some traps and timed runs. Some enemies to kill here
and there as well. Designwise it's well done but nothing outstanding. Textures, lighting and
objects - everything is fine. Didn't notice any issues. The level is your usual TR raid.
It's easy, short and enjoyable. Recommended." - BlackWolfTR (25-Jun-2023) |

"Neutral
- This level is on the shorter side, which isn't a bad thing, but there is less for me to take away from it.
Liked
- As far as obstacles go, Lara will need to keep her eyes peeled for quite a few sneaky boulders and enemies. She will also have one of those classic timed flame platform runs to contend with.
- There is a nice little pushable puzzle to solve to get the player's brain engaged.
- The visuals are more or less on par with the source material. Good use of geometry to make natural caves and other structures.

"This is the first time a tomb1main level works on my computer and the initial impression was nothing short of wow! TombATI served us well, but this takes it to another level and I hope we continue to see TR1 levels in years to come, something about the looks and feels just make it the ultimate TR game. As for the level in question, I feel I could quote much of what I just wrote for another release from the same author: short but sweet and fairly straightforward, plus a couple of nice timed runs along the way. Much of it feels like a Palace of Midas, especially as you gather three lead bars to transform them into gold (and yes, the Lara into gold animation is in place and works as you'd expect). Unlike my peers below I feel this was a pretty complete adventure as it is, one built without any padding, and for that alone I can recommend it to anyone looking for a good time. 25 minutes, 1 secret. 03/23" - Treeble (02-Apr-2023) |

"Definitely recommend this level if you like classic tomb raider levels" - Sabbath (30-Mar-2023) |

"A short but sturdy TR1 offering that packs a
surprising amount of gameplay into its half
hour duration. The Greece environment is put
together very well despite the constraints
of the engine, progression is generally
smooth and fluid throughout, enemies are
placed well and there's a decent mixture of
(mostly boulder) traps, exploration and some
nicely enjoyable timed sequences. I really
liked the addition of the hub room where you
collect the three gold bars, although the
crocodile pit was a bit too annoying as no
real strategy was required (just luck to
avoid losing too much health). Were this
level included in a larger multi-level set,
it would be a great segue into something
more difficult. It still works nicely on its
own, though." - Ryan (19-Mar-2023) |

"A standard Greek level with everything in place. Feels like Sabatu's little brother. Shame it ends precisely when you'd expect it to begin for real. Recommended." - DJ Full (15-Mar-2023) |
