"This is a laudable attempt to combine Tomb Raider with horror but unfortunately the execution left some things to be desired. The setting (a grim, rundown London Underground station and the catacombs beneath) isn't too badly done (and returning there to find it in all its former glory after you've defeated evil is a rather sweet touch) and the atmosphere is effective, but the jumpscares are too overdone and do ruin the immersion a bit. The gameplay throughout is rather illogical in places too, despite there being some enjoyable timed sequences (I did like the multiple one over the pool in the second level). Random grated tiles burn Lara up, the mirror rooms are a bit confusing, the invisible tiles in those rooms were annoying. I also did find it strange that while the train station and the caves had their fair share of bats, bears(?) and dogs, the "Real World level only had two mummies and a boss fight. The bugs when placing items were also irritating, but some things are out of the builder's control I suppose. As I said, it's a brave attempt in the horror genre but it didn't really work for me." - Ryan (06-Aug-2025)
"One of Pedro's best. I didn't get scared much but I saw things which may scare you, so you may wanna test yourself. Quite unusual approach on Aldwych makes it better in some way, and the level design isn't bad either except from the rose key placement and a softlock if you cross the green portal leading to the drill rooms after that part is done (v.5). An engine bug, some keyholes don't work but get in and out of the fly cheat to repair it (thanks rr_dash for the tip), and the bug is fixed in the updated engine, so I hope for the level update as well." - DJ Full (27-Jul-2025)
"The concept of this level is cool; the execution isn't bad, but it could be better. I didn't like the cheap jumpscares which were out of place and weren't really scary. The chase in the void was weird and out of place too. I wish the game had a more elaborated story because you don't really know what is going on except the fact that you are in some alternative reality. Either way, the gameplay is solid. Some of the tasks and sequences are really clever. We explore a subway and an ancient place stuck in void. We also get to explore some places with The Great Wall and Temple of Xian textures. There is a possible softlock in the game - you can omit picking up the first key in the first level and when you reach its end you cannot go back to retrieve it. Also, the sequences with the drills were weird. They either didn't activate or didn't hurt Lara even though they should have. I also don't understand why Lara was set on fire when standing on the grate textures in one of the drill areas - twas odd. The visuals are solid. The textures are decent, though they could be more diverse in the cave areas. The lighting was solid, though weird (in a rather bad way), again, in the cave areas. When it comes to sounds - the main ambient was fine, however, I feel like the TR3 soundtracks, which played at times, broke the immersion and just didn't fit with the atmosphere of the game. Also, the sound of the first jumpscare was way too loud. Another thing is that I didn't understand and like that, at the end of the first level, there was an invisible door. Why not make it just a normal door? About the enemies - they were fine, although the bears and the mummies didn't really fit in these surroundings. Overall, the game isn't bad but could be definitely better. The atmosphere is there, though the cheap jumpscares and the TR3 soundtracks break the immersion. The gameplay is probably the most fun factor. A more elaborated story would enhance the immersion. Recommended." - BlackWolfTR (18-Jul-2025)
