| Reviewer's comments |
"One of the most original surreal levelsets, you should try it if you like cyber tech and liminal spaces. For players who don't like such topics, I'd take the map and reuse it in a casual project, so those good shapes are exposed to more people. The third level is too big but overall the size is balanced. Here if you have problem fighting, open the game folder then Engine\ExtraOptions\Gameplay Bugfixes, run RunningM16_damageFix_Disable.reg and confirm - this restores original M16 behaviour with more combat options and no it won't incinerate your computer like Windows assumes. What a player can't fix is as always the lighting, the dino cage being an example - that could be the highlight of that level but the shading is so minimal you can't even see the 3D shapes. It needs that knob turned a bit harder, which doesn't always yield maximum realism but is always more pleasant to the eyes and keep a player in the game. And yes, I mean the entire game, as while the last levels are in another realm, they still need some contrast - even the original Backrooms/Poolrooms were simple but never flat. The end game needs some gameplay intensity as it feels like mid game with similar pacing and a sudden finish, though pulling the final switch is satisfying and the TR2 credit sequence always makes it better." - DJ Full (25-Nov-2025) |
