"This is a two-level game in its own right, although as a demo for a larger project, there's a lot to look forward to here. Classic-feeling, with some nice natural environments and vertical architecture that mixes old and new textures. This 1 hour 30 minutes adventure includes fun platforming and builds tension effectively through a combination of previews through windows into new parts of the level, and traps that don't trigger until after Lara has passed them the first time, setting the player up to observe a deadly situation before facing it (I always appreciate this). As this is a demo, I tend to make a more concerted effort at constructive criticism, so I hope the following is helpful: - Textures and lighting could improve in the future full release: the setting was a bit hard to identify from the gray and checkered temple textures, and some rooms had lighting bright enough to make Lara glow. Textures could be squashed, stretched, or mirrored in places. - Level geometry made cracks appear when looking up underwater and, occasionally, Lara could stand by low ceilings or by the skeletons (which had unusually large collision - these would be better without any), and these would force Lara through walls or the ceiling and would make the black background outside the level visible. - In the first level, there's a boulder visible floating in the sky since the ceiling of the room its in is higher than the outdoor area before the door. - Switches could use more consistent camera clues. - The music present is nice, but could use more musical cues. - I also expereinced a few enemies kill themselves in water: one crow and one baton- wielding henchman both drowned themselves without Lara lifting a finger. Pickups could use more creative or more helpful names (currently several items are simply named "Key"). - I got lost at one point because a door with two keyholes outside of it actually only needs one to open: I spent ages looking for the second key before realizing this, so placing the second keyhole closer to the door it actually opens could be helpful. I found 5/6 secrets, and judging by some of the other reviews I've read, the sixth may be both tough and rewarding. I enjoyed this level enough that I'm all set to go back and play some more to see if I can track down that last gold dragon. Looking forward to more!" - Cbl (13-Feb-2026)
"This is worth a bit more than the current rating. Texturing is very specific but grows on you, lighting could have much more life and the puzzle in the first map is creative but unlikely you'll get it until you're on the verge of desperate. The third secret is even weirder, I haven't seen this for like 15 years so if you have time you'll feel like a genius finding it, but in any other scenario you'll empty your basket of swear words. Everything else is pretty correct, and since the first demo had significant differences, maybe we'll see parts of both in the full version, where if you keep the good things but also add some surprises to reduce predictability, we're most likely gonna get a Hall of Famer." - DJ Full (06-Feb-2026)
"A very classic TR2 level with simple puzzles and user-friendly gameplay; enemies are also easy to take down. The only downside is that there are no prompts for switches, forcing you to search around, but the map is straightforward so this isn't much of an issue. The textures are quite detailed, yet the visuals are overly dark—cranking up the gamma will make the experience much more comfortable. All in all, it’s a nice little level perfect for unwinding." - cheng (03-Feb-2026)
"From what little I remember of the previous demo release, this has been expanded on quite considerably to the extent that it pretty much qualifies as a game in its own right. And a good one it is too. It's rather player-friendly, not too difficult and has a pleasingly linear flow, and I enjoyed the (not too tedious) block pushing exercises along with the boulder traps (although some ended up blocking pickups, which must have been intentional?). I would have liked some more camera guidance in the second level, but the area isn't so big that backtracking a bit gets annoying anyway. Another neat touch in my view was that some of the rooms had traps that were as yet inactive, but you just knew they would activate at any moment. Pretty effectively done, I thought. Worth a look." - Ryan (03-Feb-2026)
