Reviewer's comments
"Under Fire is probably an understatement in this case. Despite being somewhat of a shooter (not normally my favourite genre), I admit to enjoying this level quite a bit. The builder explains that he built this as a sort of introduction for himself to the TEN engine, but don't let that put you off. It's very much a playable level in its own right. As I mentioned, there is a fair share of combat but actually the fights are mostly manageable and not too overwhelming, although trying to evade the flamethrowers before Lara acquired some weaponry proved quite challenging. I did think that the final battles were a bit over the top (especially the armoured guys), but blowing the guards to smithereens with the rocket launcher did admittedly give me a bit of sadistic pleasure. You do get enough high-powered weapons, although maybe a couple more medipacks wouldn't have gone amiss. Apart from the gunfights, the trap sequences were enjoyable to conquer, and the impressive fan room with its intricate jumps was a definite highlight. Even the duct sequences weren't too boring. The textures and atmosphere are also very decent despite the level being set in mainly similar areas, and music is used well to set up the more tense sections of gameplay. Thank you Samu, I had a lot of fun with this one." - Ryan (10-Jun-2026)
"The level certainly lives up to its name - Lara will be coming under fire quite frequently in this short and intense adventure. More often than not, when I mark a level as Very Hard it is for the wrong reasons (unmarked traps, layout is difficult to navigate, etc.), but this is not one of those times. The challenges Lara faces here can take many attempts, but they didn't pull cheap tricks and they felt quite satisfying to conquer. This is not going to be for everyone, but I quite liked it. Just don't run out of ammo! Pros
  • Many, many enemies to overcome, which come in a good variety and scale appropriately in difficulty toward the end
  • Introducing the rocket launcher for the final sequence was quite satisfying
  • A fun but tricky sequence of jumps as a giant fan threatenes to push Lara to her death
  • Several other traps include booby trapped vents, rotating laser blades, and flames
Cons
  • It's a bit too difficult to discern when Lara can crouch roll between lasers and when she cannot
  • Limited ammo could present itself as a softlock, although that was not an issue for me.
Time: 36 minutes | Difficulty: Very Hard | Rating: 8.25/10 - Very Good" - JesseG (21-May-2026)
"I wish this had a bit more ambitious structure and shapes, but I didn’t see a single ugly room despite of overarching military/industrial style. The combat is a puzzle you can do without meds if you don’t panic but strategize instead. however the boss crosses the line of OP with touch damage, rapid turning and homing plasma, so I had to reload like 50 times because you almost cannot avoid being shot. Nice twist with the final secret, that was my favourite part." - DJ Full (13-May-2026)
"The texture graphics are absolutely stunning, and I especially love the wiggling alien part. The soundtrack is grand and powerful, putting you in a great mood. The puzzles aren’t particularly hard, yet the lasers everywhere can be quite frustrating. That said, the sections where you jump against the big spinning fans feel really fresh and creative. The toughest part of the game is constantly keeping an eye on your ammo and supplies while fending off hordes of fierce enemies. The final battle is absolutely thrilling too — endless waves of enemies paired with rocket launcher combat make it incredibly satisfying and super fun to play." - cheng (12-May-2026)
