Reviewer's comments
"Another ORC—I like this idea because it can cover many ideas by the limitations anyway. I liked the level, and the idea of timed was cool; I just missed a little lighting (I believe the author used 30x30, and as you can only use 20 dynamic lamps per room) and camera hints at some points to know what I opened, and I had no problems with the ammunition. About the mansion, can you finish? I didn't find many objectives, and I couldn't open a door in one of the rooms, but the mansion is very quiet and calm to explore; recommended to all players...." - PedroCroft_ (16-Aug-2025)
"This is a Tomb Raider 2 set with a small mansion level and the main level being a Venice one. The general design isn't too stand-out, but it's an improvement on the last couple of levels and generally looks decent. The lighting is a little bland, but there are atleast some highlights and variety (and the evening/night setting gives it a slightly different style to most Venice releases), texturing looks fine, outside of some inconsistency with which windows are breakable. The custom objects and designs are again used well here, although this mostly uses more familiar Venice objects. In the mansion level the best looking part is outside the front gate which you can't open, which seemed unfortunate.
This is the strongest gameplay yet, with a good mix of exploration, combat and traps, along with a gradual escalation of difficulty that leads to a couple of quite tricky challenges towards the end, although nothing too overwhelming. This level mixes up how combat works again; this time, you only have Uzis, but enemies drop quite a bit of ammo for it, so you shouldn't have issues unless you're very wasteful. While the area is still quite small, the length is notably more substantial, and there's actually time to explore it's ideas, which is part of why this is an improvement. There are also some message used to provide hints/warning about a couple of things and make progression smooth, although one elevator is oddly designed and will get you stuck if you do anything but activate it and never try to touch it. Still a little short, but an improvement for this set and a good take on the Venice setting." - Mman (22-Jul-2025)
"I didn’t realise there was 2 levels in 1 with this download as we get a small home level as well, but unfortunately the house section was disappointing as there isn’t much substantial to do apart from wandering around to open up new areas or rooms and there isn’t even a finish trigger I could find either but at least the opening vocal lines were amusing I guess. The main level is a TR2 style Venice level with the obvious textures and visuals including fun speedboat rides and of course the smashing and jumping through windows and over canals etc I love it. Other tasks include platforming, shooting bells and looking for items etc but the challenge element was clearly the tricky but enjoyable timed runs across ledges, one is optional for a secret, another is outside across rooftops and there’s a third harder one with inside with blade traps! Enemies unfortunately only included men and dogs but there is plenty of other threats and dangers with broken glass, swinging sacks and boxes, underwater blades/fans and collapsing floor tiles. Strange choice with helmet but I did like the overall style and music choices here." - John (04-May-2025)
"Bugs/Functional Issues
  • As noted in the readme, Lara can almost get stuck by staying on top of a moving elevator. I say almost, because one of the floor tiles is not solid and Lara can drop through it to avoid a softlock.
  • The double doors with the office keyholes opened on their own when I approached them. This lead to some confusion as I ran out of ways to proceed - turns out the keys must still be used in order to spawn the enemies needed to complete the adventure.
What I Disliked
  • I wasn't sure if I was imagining things or if Lara's jumps were weaker. The readme has a note about long jumps, but I also had trouble with certain height-based acrobatics like jumping forward onto a 4-click slope, which made the level a little harder to play than it might have been otherwise.
What I Liked
  • This short level is a nice test of dexterity, with several timed runs to challenge the player, and many of those contain several traps.
  • The level is also punctuated with combat against a good variety of enemies. Lara doesn't have her pistols, but the automatic weapons she starts with were enough to get the job done, and I wasn't left wanting for ammo.
  • The visuals are a good remix of the Venitian asthetics from TR2 and BTB venice.
Time: 36 minutes | Difficulty: Medium | Rating: 7.25/10" - JesseG (26-Mar-2025)
"I somehow spent 2 hours in this 15-min level and tbh I don't know why, it's not really difficult or confusing except from a part when I stopped the underwater fan then I realized I skipped about 1/5 of the game. The only bad thing was a gauntlet to a sudden keyhole therefore a likely repeat (then the same [but not as painful] with the circuit). You can softlock with falling blocks but not so likely. Secrets are nicely ported from 3D but I don't get the bonus weapon, as it's worse than the basic one. Curiously, the map looks better in game than in trview (not seeing this often). The manor prelude is also good albeit unfinished, I liked the colors a lot, however an NPC is likely to miss and I couldn't understand what the gladiator was saying through the helmet. All in all a better creation by Shadoofus, recommended." - DJ Full (13-Mar-2025)
"Do you know, I actually rather enjoyed myself here. The moonlit, slightly eerie Venetian atmosphere is nicely executed and the setting is pleasant to look at and explore. The gameplay difficulty ramps up nicely throughout, including a couple of tricky timed sequences that spice proceedings up (maybe a couple of the blades in the trapdoor run could have been removed to make it a little fairer) and a nice little boat ride. Enemies are somewhat sporadically placed, so the focus is mainly on exploration, but it does end rather nicely with a brief boss battle. I liked it." - Ryan (13-Mar-2025)
