Reviewer's comments |
"The sequel to The Lost Tomb is noticeably
much more extended versus its predecessor,
taking me more than a hour net gaming time
to reach the finish trigger. The gameplay
here seemed a bit more challenging too, most
notably the imaginative trap sections and
breathtaking (literally swimming sections).
I found the balance of difficulty just
right, and it ramps up nicely throughout the
level. The environments are solidly crafted
and impressive and music nicely complements
the atmosphere. The only real gripe I have
is that the lighting is far too dim, which I
get might add to the immersion, but it did
hurt my eyes a bit and made spotting
essential openings tricky at times. Still
the enemy attacks are involving and not
frustrating, and overall I enjoyed myself
here." - Ryan (06-Jul-2025) |

"Often slow and too symmetrical which induces too much gameplay doubling, but also nicely unfolding with shapes you wouldn't quite expect. A strong element is combat beyond a single scenario and even more with secrets. A nice deviation is tiny out of bounds deco rooms so the place looks bigger without slowing down... unless it's me taking time trying to get in and look for things, generating extra uncertainty which only left when I forgot about those places. So it's one of those levels better to play not caring to see every polygon - as in, for everyone except me. For the only real flaw, I don't get the lighting - it was lively in the prequel, compared to almost flat here like if the map wasn't finished, so I'd send it back to the workshop for another round of polishing. Another note to fix: revisiting the room with upper chamber key is an unlikely softlock (no reason to go there again but can't get out if you do)." - DJ Full (25-Jun-2025) |
