Reviewer's comments
"This seems more like a demo than anything else, given its brevity (12 minutes) and the fact that Lara has two eye pieces in her inventory that she never gets to use. Otherwise, it just involves a few simple tasks and shooting a ninja or two. Quite well made and not bad as far as it goes - it just doesn't go very far." - Jay (07-Aug-2018)
"Of course, this short level hasn't great features, but a solid level without bugs and nice to play without complications. The usual easy tasks here, correct architecture and texturization and no many ninjas to shoot. No much worked lights, but the textures are well applied. Definitely worth to play for me." - Jose (17-Jan-2018)
"Don't be waylaid by the mystical sounding title. You're probably expecting a different sort of raiding experience, with funky textures, weird enemies and puzzles that differ from the norm. Instead, this is a fairly easy romp through a Tinnos setting, pulling levers, jumping, collecting two Hands and an Eye of Horus (which I never used). Playable, but don't expect too much." - Ryan (25-Aug-2016)
"For a beginner's level it has become quite well-arranged. There are no stretched textures, everything functions in such a way as it should be and a few nice small duties are to be done. A few Baddies are also present. Though the playing time is rather short, but otherwise the level builderhas made nothing wrong. Result: Quite well suitably for the small level hunger occasionally." - Scottie (31-Aug-2009)
"It is a nice small level properly constructed with a simple gameplay but who asks for a little of address, notably to pass over peaks by jumping between two a bit milked slopes. The decoration of places remains classical and functional. A regret, level is too short, they would like that it lasts a little more!" - Daffy (22-Aug-2009)
"It must've been a nap, as this was a very short dream... I mean level - taking below 10 mintues of my time to actually get through. And yet, it actually turned out to be fairly interesting for the time it lasts. You get a number of quests involving clever jumps, a dart room, a rope swing, a lasersight task to reveal invisible tiles - faithfully to the Tinnos style - and a spike pit to maneuver around. There's the odd compressed texture and the lighting could've been more interesting, but not much else to fault as far as the looks go. I was a bit puzzled whether the eye of Horus was actually necessary to finish the level, as I could open the final door before even beginning my search for the eye. That would've made the already brief adventure even shorter, and that's actually the only real fault there is to this level. A pity that the author seemingly has not pursued any other projects since this, as he had a number of interesting ideas to offer." - eTux (14-Oct-2007)
"I thought the level fairly entertaining and had many different jumps and moves for a short level but somehow these seem to be put there because they 'ought' to be there and not so much to build the story of the dream. During the game there is a fairly easy rope swing a fairly tricky jump over a chasm a difficult (for me at least) jump over a fire trench a fairly easy swim and a fairly inexplicable jump across invisible ledges. The 'dream' finished just after the collection of 'the eye' and that seemed like so much else in the level as there as a sort of afterthought. Overall I felt the level was a set of activities put there with little continuity. These activities were interesting overall but generally I finished feeling somewhat unsatisfied." - Mrs rjb (05-Jan-2005)
"Very short Egyptian level but it's nicely done and straight forward to play and there are a number of well known actions like monkeyswings pushing statues swimming jumping dodging a boulder shooting ninjas finding hands and eyepieces. Actually I don't know where the combined eyepiece was to be used. Like the invisible platforms and the short fire jump. This would be a good tutorial level for newcomers to custom levels." - CC (13-Aug-2004)
"This dream is quite odd. Maybe it represents the author's personality to a certain extent. The gameplay and the original but bland textures probably show the author's predictability. The spikes are half-buried the water textures aren't animated and there is a useless Eye of Horus. However I have enjoyed the 'leap of faith' where Lara has to shoot two vases with a revolver in order to see two invisible platforms and the fire traps. The jumps also make this level more difficult." - Sakusha (29-Jun-2004)
"The title of this level began to take on an alarming significance when I played it after a long Night Shift. The jumping over the fire trench was ok as was the decent running jump over the big pit; but the invisible ledge room had me sitting staring at the screen like a lemon for an awfully long time before it dawned on me (like the day outside) what to do next. After that you could miss out on the last two challenges completely and just slide down the slope to the end. Very strange. But it is an incredibly small download for a reasonably entertaining 12 minute level so it should not be ignored." - Orbit Dream (09-Jun-2003)
"Is this really the kind of level you want to play? 10 minutes with a handful of jumps a handful of ninjas and a handful of easy to find pick ups the last being an Eye of Horus that is unnecessary to end. You choose but I like my dreams a whole lot more eventful." - Sash (02-Dec-2002)
"I found this 10 minute level to be an enjoyable one. The basis tut1 wad not a lot of frills but it did have a load screen which I found quite unusual for such a short level. Lara must survive a couple of traps spikes poison darts to acquire 2 Hands. She also goes for a swim to get the 2 eyepieces to hopefully use another day." - Momster (01-Dec-2002)
"Actual a very short level where you had to get the two Hands. To get to them you have to some jumping and some climbing. The jumping had me going for a while though as it wouldn't work properly so I left it for a day or so and suddenly I had no problem at all. After that you can get the two pieces of the Eye but that is not even necessary as the level ends sliding down with still the Eye in Lara's backpack. 05-11-2002" - Gerty (09-Nov-2002)
"Well on the few occasions that Lara appeared in my dreams she behaved quite differently that's for sure; but let's not go into that now. It's all a bit obvious here like the statue pushing or the target shooting; so you get an easy and linear gameplay that has you rushing through this small level in ten minutes. However it's quite fun for the time it lasts and the rather ordinary setting has no major bugs. Poisonous darts invisible platforms a tricky jump over burning tiles and two warriors of the desert are all that you have to overcome before you can collect the two pieces of the Eye and slide towards the finishing trigger." - Dimpfelmoser (05-Nov-2002)
"What the title has to do with the content of the level is beyond me. Other than that a very small though decently made level where the author (as many don't) even took the time to register the coordinates to make a level loading shot. It even has a rather difficult in-between-double-slope-jumping sequence. Can't give it more than an 'all 3' score because this was obviously a try-out level." - bERT (08-Oct-2002)
"Well it is a matter of taste I guess but I actually liked the applied textures here so therefore a little higher rating in this category. Other than that this is a real short trip though with its 12 minutes of net gaming and while it has a few memorable moments: the rather tricky long running jump the invisible platforms marked with smoke and the deadly darts it just falls short of being really exciting in any way. And what where those eyepieces near the end for anyway?" - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"This is quite a simple little level that can be completed in 12 minutes. You must find two stars to get the main chamber open to locate the eyepieces and escape. There are one or two tricky little scenarios that will give you pause to consider but other than that an easy run for home." - Torry (21-Jun-2002)
"I think that this is a good debut as a LD. The author made a simple small level (lasting for about 10 minutes) an adventure where Lara has to search hands and finally the eye of Horus. I think that the design of the rooms is great (most of them are small) and very well textured the objects are rightly chosen. I would only suggest the author to put some lights in the level and don't place the two parts of the eye of Horus in the same room but it's still a fun level to play! Now I will keep wondering why this name for the level..." - Treeble (21-Jun-2002)
"A very short level (~12 minutes) with a couple easy puzzles and jumps and one or two traps. Presumably a first try for the author all the bits and pieces worked as they're supposed to and the textures were properly applied if a little bland. Too there was one puzzle which had me paused for a moment or two. Sound and cameras were completely missing as were secrets. But as a first level it shows promise for things to come." - Tombaholic (21-Jun-2002)
"A nice little tutorial level nothing new not much of a challenge but we all have to start somewhere...." - G.Croft (21-Jun-2002)
"The author has achieved an interesting look here with the combining of the tutorial and the tinnos wads. It's still a largely Egyptian style with a different look than we're used to and looks very nice. This was a great start for a first level most people will probably find this a little too easy though. Your objective is to find the two eye pieces and then the exit of the tomb. Doors are opened by a switch nearby or a statue pushed only one tile over and the two hands are easily reached by solving two simple puzzles. I found no secrets and there are plenty of pickups for the few ninjas you'll find. If you enjoy a short fun level this is definitely worth a look." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"This level was all too short. The graphics and textures were very good. I liked the bit with the transparent platforms over the spike pit. The room with the deadly darts was the only time I have ever seen them do some damage if Lara lingered too long. I was able to finish the level without getting all the goodies. Nice game to play if you like quickies." - Doug E (21-Jun-2002)
"After more than a year custom levels playing this 12 minutes game seemed really boring to me. There is nothing special to say about it. It's a beginner level with standard textures some levers artefacts and some usual jumps. Not recommended!" - Freeman Porter (21-Jun-2002)
"I would like to know why this level is called 'Lara in my Dream'. Did the author dream about how this level would look or did he/she just think that it was a good name? Personally I don't think that this is a very good dream. The level can be completed in less than ten minutes and there isn't much to slow you down in it. I think there were two enemies in the level but they didn't attack at the same time and killing one lonely enemy isn't very hard. The texturing is okay but don't expect anything special. The lighting isn't very good. There isn't much in this level that makes it worthwhile but if this is the author's first level he/she will probably make a better level soon (and maybe even explain the name of it)." - Magnus (21-Jun-2002)
"Short simple level with a few difficult jumps." - Fairy Godfather (21-Jun-2002)
"I have doubts about some folks dreams? A very short level with the standard not to difficult search and find. 3 Ninja appear to stop you but no other enemies. Little else to say but for a 'quickie' it is not that bad." - Whistle (21-Jun-2002)
"To tell the truth I didn't expect something great from a 250 KB download. Some big empty rooms textured always the same a few lever switches some objects to collect and the one or other baddy to shoot. No sound or light effects only one interesting jump sequence. This is a typical first try I think. But every level builder was a beginner at the start ;o). So let's wait and see if this author will give something better to us soon." - Sheevah (21-Jun-2002)
"Oh dear what can I say very short and not so sweet. I was nearly not going to bother writing a review for this level but I owe it to the author. Apart from a few levers and a couple of nice jump sequences there is nothing really to say. Near the end I found I could move some statues to open the final exit without collecting the two halves of the eye of Horus. I don't know how long the level took me to complete but don't blink or you will miss it all." - Jason (21-Jun-2002)
"I think that is a nice level for beginners. It has some elementary moves and jumps in it and then it isn't a long level. It took me 15 minutes to get done and leave. A few ninjas appear and you have to collect 2 Hands of Orion till you get the Eye of Horus. For beginners the spikes part and the shallow fire pit could be a challenge." - Monika (21-Jun-2002)
"That was a ten minutes level. Not many puzzles; just two hands and the Eye but you don't get to use the second. The same pattern is used here with the usual levers to open the doors all around and a few traps. A spike ball coming down while entering a room and spike floors. The firetrap was a little more challenging than the other traps but nothing difficult I'm afraid. Another one is the darts a lot of them while accessing a lever. That's all I think I wrote a walktrough here well sort of." - Kristina (21-Jun-2002)
"A very short level with unimaginative always same textures. Sound cameras light and secrets do not exist what leads to a boringly atmosphere. Suitable for children to do; a single more difficult place to do the jumping the simplest puzzles and 5 baddys as opponent in this level. It is suitable extremely well as an entrance Level for Tomb Raider boys and -girls. Playing time approximately 13 minutes." - Xxenofex (21-Jun-2002)
"The title of the level promises something else. I was expecting some dreamlike textures or at least some foggy elements. But the atmosphere was a bit boring. It was very clear to see what to do next. The textures were alright but nothing special. One of the jumping over a firetrench bits was very unnerving in my opinion. Rooms were sometimes too big. Where a small trench would have sufficed as the only thing to do was getting to the other side you got a huge pit. All in all not very exciting." - Tombraidergirl (21-Jun-2002)
